I have to downgrade to 3 stars only because the little old lady behind the counter is annoying. I can feel here eyes on my back when I eat in. Also they added a recycling bucket ( finally) but they screwed the lid shut leaving a hole to small for the clear plastic containers they spin out all day to get through. When I tried to squeeze it in I was reprimanded by her yet again. She claimed it wasn't recyclable, I should her the triangle icon. She then said it can't be because there is some sauce in it...Whatev! Another time I asked about where I could maybe purchase some sushi grade salmon to make my daughter a Poke bowl for her birthday ( It's not on the menu) After she offered no help ( The guy tried but was shut down by her) I gently inquired about buying a piece to which she chuckled back at me. I have always been sort of a "sushi snob" and coming down here for school meant I had to find a new place for sushi. I stumbled upon this little takeout type restaurant and the sushi was AMAZING. I got sushi combo #3 and the salmon avocado roll and it was probably the best sushi of my life. The place was clean, food was fresh, and service was kind and attentive. It's a small little sushi place with only 6 seats at the bar and no other tables in an inconspicuous strip mall in Northfield. It's bright and clean inside, and the workers seemed very friendly. I took my sushi to go. I didn't really have high expectations going in, and the prices are very economical. They comped me a free salad to try. The sushi was very fresh and good. Their sushi burrito is really good considering that it's in south jersey. $6.99 each, the options are soft shell crab or salmon I believe. Double check on that but it's definitely worth it if you think about it. A roll is typically $5-$13, the burrito is essentially the size of those 10 piece $13 rolls, it's just uncut. Also the service is great here, I called for a last minute party tray and they had it done in 45 min. I don't suggest doing that but the fact that they got it done on time, at a really good price by the way, was very impressive. It's a small shop so eating in isn't suggested but take out is still amazing. Fish is always fresh and I never had an issue with my orders so all in all a great place to get take out sushi. Oh and they close at 7-730, that's the only downer if you're craving sushi after dinner time. read more

Unlike the other take out sushi place, the food here is is good and fresh. Besides sushi, they have a variety of other food. Their teriyaki is very good as well. The owners are very nice, they used to own the sushi place in Hamilton mall, so they definitely have a good reputation for the best sushi in town. I'm one of those people that only eats cooked sushi, so I've only ever eaten the trustworthy spicy California roll. I also got a chicken tempura roll and it blew my mind! It was still warm and slightly crispy with a sweet and savory teriyaki sauce drizzle on top. The California roll had a little tempura wrapped inside so it had a nice hint of a crisp to it as well. Both were so delicious! For what it's worth coming from a "sushi" lover, it was hands down the best sushi I've ever had. This place has very good sushi. If you guys have ever had sushi at Sakura then this place is very comparable to that. It's pretty much a take out sushi restaurant so don't expect to dine in. Prices are really reasonable, my wife and I had a buffets worth of sushi for around 20 dollars. The only downside is the soy sauce, not a fan of the brand. It's not kinkoman, which is my favorite.
