Haven't been here in years. Some things to note: if you put in a reservation for hibachi, they won't seat your party until all arrive to be seated together. They also get very busy. They have a good variety of menu options to choose from. I had the Romantic Date Maki roll and highly recommend. Everyone enjoyed it. The chicken katsu was good too. They have a good selection of hibachi options and the hibachi chef even did an extra show for us. We had fun and even the kids were able to do water sake sprays which they loved. I've been to Ichigo Ichie a few times in the past. When I visited for hibachi I enjoyed it. They have a nice selection of different options for hibachi, and I think they do it well. I am a sushi lover and typically when visiting I will get sushi. The sushi has always been pretty standard for me with no real stand-outs. I did visit a few weeks back and was really disappointed. The rolls had the potential of being unique, but the flavor just was not there. I got the Hot Lover roll and the Monster roll. I was just hoping for more with both. I enjoyed the Monster roll more than I enjoyed the Hot Lover. My party also ordered the Ichigo Wontons and Veggie Tempura. Both were also mediocre. I was the only one in my group to order an alcoholic beverage and everyone else ordered fountain drinks. Everyone got their drinks before I did (which I would understand as they were only fountian drinks), but we also got our appetizers before my drink came. It took at least 20 minutes for my drink to get to me. The drink itself was okay - I got a martini. Overall, I probably wont visit again unless I am going for Hibachi. read more

I'm not a huge fan of hibachi but went here for a friend's birthday and was presently surprised at how delicious my meal was. The chefs were friendly, funny and entertaining! The food was a lot but not so overwhelming and the seasoning was perfect for me. This restaurant is very family oriented!! read more

I really wanted to love it here. We came in (party of 3) and were sat at our own station.. ordered our drinks and food as we already knew what we wanted before arriving.. while enjoying our drinks and app.. a large party (that took up the rest of the station) was sat with us.. we figured no worries , more the merrier when it comes to hibachi! Well that took a turn as time continued on.. 25 min later.. our drinks and apps are done and they are JUST ordering.. then another 20 min goes by.. now we had been there for about an hour 1 drink, 1 app.. done.. ready to leave at this point but finally we see the chef come out.. we were kind of over it by then.. but food was still good.. we ate a little as it was plated to us - chef was great. We ended up taking the rest to go because we did have to be somewhere for a certain time afterwards.. all in all we will give this place another shot and hopefully have a better experience! read more

Lost our reservation, screwed up our order, limited skills hibachi cook, very well done everything. We were celebrating our grandson's birthday, told the waitress, got no recognition while other tables had torches and staff singing. Refused to let us have his birthday cake. Rushed our dinning experience, brought the check while we were eating then started asking if we were done while we were eating. This review is strictly for hibachi service, we haven't eaten dinner in any other area. We love having a hibachi place so close to us! The food is always excellent and the drinks are delicious. Highly suggest a lychee martini or one of the Asian beers like Sapporo or lucky Buddha. Super fun for date night or with a group but DEFINITELY make a reservation ahead of time regardless! Came here with a group of friends for Teppanyaki on a Friday night. We normally go to Kon Asian Bistro in East Greenwich. My husband's friend suggested we come here with our group. Food was lacking some flavor, portion seemed to be small. Our waitress was good and attentive. Only complaint we had was that our drinks from the bar took over 30 minutes to get to the table after we ordered. We already finished our apps, soup, and salad before we got our drinks from the bar. Probably will not return and stick to going to Kon Asian Bistro. read more

Ordered take out. I have a gluten and dairy allergy and got chicken fried rice. Hubby got chicken hibachi. The chicken fried rice was very bland and had no flavor, I don't think it even had eggs in there which is my favorite part. The portion size was really small. My husbands hibachi was also very bland and the chicken was dry and overcooked. They didn't give us any sauces that are supposed to come with the hibachi meal. His fried rice was mushy and was even more bland than mine! It didn't have any veggies, just a little egg. His shrimp also smelled bad and seemed old. The lettuce on his salad was brown and slimy. Makes you wonder how long that salad has been sitting in the fridge and made us question the freshness of the whole meal. For the money we paid we expected much better. Ordered 5 maki rolls. At least 3 of them were missing the finishing sauces (spicy mayo and eel sauce). The other 2 could have been missing sauces but it was our first time ordering them so I'm not sure. I called to let them know my spicy rolls weren't what I ordered because there was no spicy mayo. The girl said I can only credit you $1 because it's just the sauce. Look - sushi is pricey and when you order a roll and it comes missing an ingredient, it's not the roll you ordered...it's the wrong order. Very disappointed. This restaurant is great for date nights and family dinners. My kids love this place and having an interactive dining experience. The gobble up everything on their plate and giggle and laugh the whole time. They even have gotten really good at catching flying zucchini with their mouth! We've tried many of the different proteins available; chicken, beef, shrimp, and scallop and usually order a side of noodles for the table to enjoy as well - it's all really delicious. On the day that I took these pictures, my son and I stoped by for lunch - where we ordered a bento box to share and the hibachi lunch special. We returned to the restaurant two weeks later, where 5 of us had lunch on the hibachi side of the restaurant and our bill was $199 - which is outrageous for 3 kids and 2 adults - but we all had fun and enjoyed our meal. Pro tip: looking for the best value? Go at lunchtime and sit in the restaurant and order your hibachi items the way you like them - you may not get the show of having a chef cook for you table side, but you'll pay half the price and get all the same food! Other things to mention: The restaurant adds a 20% gratuity for parties of 5 or more - so be sure to check for that line item on your bill. The hibachi chef accept tips directly if you feel like you'd like to tip them individually after they have cleaned up after cooking your meal. If you have a small party and want to eat at the hibachi table, the restaurant may ask you to wait until they fill most of the table with other guests. They are in the process of completing an outdoor seating area, which I am excited to try out this summer. read more

Honestly, I've had better. The entertainment part of this was fun, but the food and service were just ok. In our group we had the chicken, steak, and vegetable hibachi entree. We all enjoyed the rice and the steak was reported to be good. The chicken lacked flavor and the vegetables weren't great. There were tons of zucchini and barely any other kind of vegetable. I think I had one carrot, a few pieces of broccoli, but it was mostly zucchini. Way too much! I like to have a variety of vegetables. Also when you want vegetables that means no meat. He was careless and there were chunks of chicken in my vegetable dish. Also the waitress didn't check on us often and we were waiting for water refills, so that could have been better too. read more

Probably the worst Asian food I've ever eaten. Had the chicken tempura dinner and an order of chicken fried rice. The chicken tempura was absolutely tasteless. It was served with some fried vegetable things that were unidentifiable. It wasn't listed on the menu so I don't know what they were. The meal was supposed to come with white rice but we got none. Everything was just greasy and left an oily taste in my mouth. The fried rice was passable but needed salt and soy sauce. The service wasn't too great either. Really great meal here. Came here on a rainy and dreary Saturday night for dinner with friends. I ordered 3 regular maki rolls, while the others at the table ordered fusion rolls. We also shared a beef nagimaki and edamame. I also got a seaweed salad. Again, all the food was fantastic. Service was great too. The server was attentive and patient and came over periodically to check on us. We had plenty of time ordering and didn't feel rushed nor ignored during our visit here. My only complaint is the drinks. My cocktail was super super weak, I questioned if there was even any alcohol in it. Kind of a waste of money although this probably depends on who is working as bartender. Definitely wouldn't order drinks again here but the star is the sushi for sure. If you want average food for an above average price, then this place is for you. Previously, they had an inventive menu, including vegan options (e.g., sweet potate sushi), and solid seafood dishes. But that seems to have changed. To keep this short, here's a perfect example of what's on their appetizer menu vs what I got: "Spicy Tuna or Spicy Salmon Tower: Spicy tuna or spicy salmon with tortilla chip and Chef's special sauce." However, what they plated was regular minced salmon stacked literally on Lays ruffle potato chips instead of tortilla chips! The whole plate was bite sized for $13 - I've had better from grocery store sushi. To be fair, the hibachi is fun and their chefs put on a nice show. The hibachi food is very pedestrian, but it's not bad. read more

Went with a group of 15 to celebrate my son's birthday. They insisted that we could not be seated until all of our party arrived. The bar was completely overwhelmed and we could not help but clog the entrance with other waiting guests. We finally were seated and were told abruptly that we had to move it along because there was another group scheduled after us! I'm sorry but at this price point, we found that very inappropriate! Our chef was very good with the silliness that comes with hibachi dining but my daughter in law had paid extra for garlic noodles that were not offered to our full group. When asked about this, the chef said "they're ok". Other guests (not in our group) were given the garlic noodles! The manager came out and told my DIL that she would have to pay extra for more noodles! Unacceptable. My son has a seafood allergy so I understand that his meal was prepared in the kitchen. What I did not appreciate was that all of us were eating for at least 15 minutes before his meal arrived! He literally had to sit and watch everyone else eat! Very poor! Then they began to hurriedly take away our plates, sang happy birthday to my son with his ice cream and never offered us dessert. We had to ask. As we are eating dessert they were setting up for the next guests. It was very clear they were trying to get rid of us. Not planning on going back anytime soon. Our 1st time here and it was a decent experience. 6 of us sat at the Hibachi table for dinner. The restaurant was inviting but staff were a little "distracted". I understand this as the entire world is currently shorthanded for staff. Anyhow, the Hibachi "show" was good and the food as well. Portions were good but found the rice to be a bit lackluster. Steak was cooked the way I asked for it to be (medium-rare). Seemed as though there was only 1 waitress per Hibachi table and it showed. Nevertheless, she did her best and we received what we asked for at some point during our dining. A few friends and I had never been here, so we met up for a hibachi dinner. We were seated fairly quickly- however, it would be an hour before the chef arrived to cook our actual meal. Our main server seemed to be the only one in the place that knew what was going on. When the chef finally arrived to our grill, he was loud, and a bit crass. I was talking to my friends when all of a sudden I'm hit in the face with chunks of various vegetables. Not only was I taken off guard, I was humiliated, and angry. I had to step outside. My friends later told me that it is typical for there to be some theatrical elements at hibachi (I had never been before) however, the cook is supposed to garnish consent. That did not happen here. We asked to be moved to a table- which was made out to be a whole thing and we basically didn't get any further service after our server switched. One if us spoke to the manager and basically he didn't care that his cook was an ass and told us that he accommodated us by allowing us to move our seats. Food was not even that good--I did not finish my meal. I will never be back. read more

One of our favorite restaurants. We usually sit on the dining room side. We have often had the same server for over a decade, she's the best! She knows what we like to order and is super friendly! The sushi is always fresh and plated beautifully. We usually get the sushi and sashimi platter for 2 and it's different every time and delicious. I can't even begin to describe the disrespect that we experienced from the "manager," Jay. We were there for my mothers birthday, and he was at the bar, drinking, for the entire 2 hours of our dining experience, "doing the most" according to our waitress. The hibachi chef, who was an amazing cook, was the best part of our night. After being ridiculed by this manager, he was the only saving grace. idk what has happened to this place, or how this person is running what used to be a great restaurant, but apparently hes "like family" to the owner. Our hibachi chef was very inappropriate. I went with friends for one of our friend's birthdays the other night, and when the chef went to give her saki, he went behind her, pressed his body up against her, tilted and held her head up towards him, and sprayed the saki in her mouth and thrusted it as if to simulate....you know. It was fine and funny after the first time, but he did the same three more times. That is just inappropriate and made my friend a little uncomfortable. The food was delicious I cannot lie, but he needs to learn to ask for consent. I am sure there is a crowd out there that would find that very fun and welcome it, but that was just not that the vibe. He was a great chef and a fun time, but that was just crossing the line. Service was okay but the wait staff only stopped by a few times and then took our glasses of soda and told us she had to take the glasses because they ran out of glasses then came back 10 min later to tell us the soda machine was empty & they had to fill it...what??? When we got our food our soup dish & salad dishes were still on the table & there was a group of 6 of us & the wait staff was waiting for the guests to move their dishes out of the way for the wait staff to put our main dish on the table. Are you kidding???? Ambiance loud and the table they gave us for 6 was too crowded one of us was in the aisle without passing room behind the seat and one of the wait staff crashed into the seat and banged into the pocket book on the chair corner almost knocking it onto the floor & they did apologize... I give it a 2 because I am generous and I know the wait staff tried to do her best she just probably had to many tables to service she was very nice. read more

I have been going here for almost my entire life. Tonight I had the worst service experience. There an obviously an inexperienced bartender on, I assume training. The other bartender and a a man behind the bar spent the entire hour and a half I was there serving her friends drinks and not paying attention to customers at the bar. I waited 20 minutes for my starter soup and salad, and 15 minutes of that waiting for my drink. The temperature was also very uncomfortable, very cold. The experience was very unprofessional and I am considering not coming back. Disappointing because I perviously have enjoyed my time here. read more

Weak attempt at skills with hibachi demonstration skills. Squirting water in faces of children. This was a very unfortunate experience. We were there to celebrate my grandson's fifth birthday. He loves the hibachi demonstration and skills of the hibachi chefs. This was a total letdown. I noticed at other tables, patrons were treated to spatula demos with eggs , balloons and onion towers ablaze, while we're getting pelted with hot food and children's faces and clothing soaked with water. One of my daughter's meals was totally inedible. Spoke with service waitress and management. The comped the drink and the ravaged meal no one ate. So for a four hundred dollar tab and sixty seven dollar tip, one of us left hungrySo, if you're in the mood for overpriced food, terrible service and a celebration ruined, this is the place you have a 50-50 chance of that happening. read more
