I must take the time to review my experience with Dr. Ida Alfonso since it was such a different experience than I've ever had going to the dentist. I had neglected my teeth for some time after my dentist moved out of state and then Covid 19 caused an additional delay for a routine visit. Dr. Alfonso's office was near my work so it was convenient and I knew I couldn't put it off any longer. First of all, the office staff is so nice and genuinely caring, and the office is super clean! I recall dental appointments at other places when you wonder if they changed their gloves or cleaned off that lamp above your head that they are constantly rearranging with their gloves that were just in my mouth. I did not see one thing that I could feel was negative. Dr. Ida's care surpassed any expectations. She actually did the cleaning on my teeth (I haven't had that happen in years where the dentist is the the one to clean your teeth.) When she was done I could be confident of her suggestions because she just looked at every single tooth of mine. A complete set of x-rays were done on my first visit and a routine cleaning. I was also scheduled to come back to have three old fillings replaced and a deeper cleaning done. At my second visit just before the deep cleaning started I unexpectedly became very nervous. I was embarrassed, but Dr. Alfonso and her team were so patient with me. She even had some lavender essential oil on hand to help me relax while she sat and talked with me and waited to begin until I was completely calm and ready. She took all the time I needed before beginning as she explained exactly what was being done even down to the noise I would hear during the treatment. Also, it was the first dental visit that I did not get those little pieces you find later on down near your gums inside your cheek, not one. The suction of any debris was perfection, always providing a clear mouth free of saliva or anything else they were cleaning off my teeth. I really had to keep expressing my gratitude for such a professional thorough cleaning process. New fillings and my mouth doesn't even notice any change. Unlike other times I've been to the dentist where I've felt my bite to be off because the filling is higher than it was before. This did not happen but they said if I felt anything uncomfortable or needed adjusting after the numbing wore off to stop back in. They even called me before the end of the day to make sure I didn't need to come in before they left. I must say you feel like you've made friends when you visit this office. My mouth feels so clean and clear and I'm so happy I went and I will continue to visit Dr. Alfonso for regular cleanings and any treatment needed, I'm so grateful for her and her team. I've moved out of state and I still scheduled a visit to come see Dr. Alfonso. She is by far the best dentist I have ever visited; the quality of care is phenomenal. What I really enjoy about Dr. Alfonso is how she is the primary person looking at my teeth. I can trust that she is being analytical the entire process and knows exactly the care and treatment I need. She has welcomed me into her office for almost 3 years now at the shortest notice sometimes. Whether it's been a broken retainer or just a 6 month cleaning. She always asks about any concerns so she can address them immediately. She focuses both on my teeth both on the health and cosmetic level. Not only is she a phenomenal doctor but she has the most caring heart (did you know she goes on dental missions to help children in the Philippines??). I know I'm always in good hands when I visit her!!! Side note: I was in a motorcycle accident and someone pulled over and helped me up on my feet and made sure I was okay and had help on the way. Dr Ida Alfonso is the best, very comfortable to talk to her or joke with her. All her staff are very friendly, caring and always smiling. I had an experience with few dentist before and I failed to go back. I have been patient of Dr Ida Alfonso for over 15 years untill now I'm still and she is the best of the best in oral care. Ive had a lot of dentists in my time. Too many in fact. Hands down Dr Ida Alfonso is one of the best dentists in the whole world, period. First off, she's not looking to jam pack her schedule with as many patients as she can, but she schedules just a few so that she can give ample time and focus to each patient that she sees. She's a perfectionist when it comes to her craft and her goal is to give you the best smile possible. I knew she was someone special when she took her time to apply the anesthesia, to the point where you don't even feel the shot. Ive been given so many shots in my time, I actually couldn't believe it when I didn't feel the pain or prick from her techniques and application. Straight up Pro. Wife here with permission to comment: we moved to Carlsbad and needed to find a dentist. Dr. Alfonso came highly rated on Yelp so my husband booked a cleaning. He needed a deep cleaning and was impressed at how painless and quick it went. That sounded good to me so I made an appointment--the front desk staff are sweet and their text updates are helpful, they were even super understanding when we realized we didn't have the correct dental insurance. I had a concern about one of my sealants which looked grey. Prior dentists pushed it off as "just stained." Well, thank goodness for Dr. Alfonso, her cameras detected the edge lifting up and to be safe she wanted to remove the sealant. When she investigated she found multiple tiny brown spots of decay. She fixed that up and also had a retainer created for me (actually two retainers since I cracked the first one). We moved away so we're looking for a dentist closer to home, but we definitely recommend Dr. Alfonso's office. read more

Dr. Ida Alfonso and her staff are top notch amazing! Every time I step in I'm greeted with a warm welcome from the front desk. Dr. Alfonso's assistants are super friendly. There's always a fun movie that plays in front of you while you wait for Dr. Alfonso. You're also provided with fun sunglasses to borrow to protect your eyes from the bright lights above you as you're getting serviced. It's very thoughtful of Dr. and her team to think of something like sunglasses at the dentist's office as other offices I've visited before had never provided sunglasses during your visit. Dr. Alfonso's style of care is amazing. She's super friendly, gentle with your teeth, and she is a great communicator. She does very impressive work! Dr. Alfonso's Dental Office has a comfortable office and has shown great care and respect to us with a great smile. My teeth cleaning was better and more through than previous dentist. Dr Alfonso takes time to explain details about your teeth health which is important in my compliance to keeping my teeth and gums healthy. Staff was very friendly and caring. They accommodated my request to move appointment due to my busy schedule. It's conveniently located at food court, one can be quick in and out during lunch. I no longer feel embarrassed but more confident at every visit. 5 service hands down! Super accommodating and caring, one of the best experiences at a dental office ever. I was in the opposite waiting room of a patient that was there for a filling, they were telling Ida how they were super afraid of going to the dentist because of past experiences. Ida talked w/her to try and figure what she could do to make her experience less "traumatic". At the end of the visit I could hear the patient tell her that it was the best experience she's ever had at a dental office. Dr Ida and her staff are incredible! I was unexpectedly assaulted by a neighbor resulting in some broken teeth. I attempted to call several dentist.
