I have been a patient of Dr. Simon's for roughly 3 years. I came to him in a lot of pain, popped ribs in my bad and over all a project. After many sleepless nights of dealing with an extreme flare up from an old neck/shoulder injury, I booked an appointment online at Ideal Body Chiropractic. Within minutes, I received a text from Dr. Kuang following up with a confirmation as well as a link to their new patient paperwork. His professional manner and hospitality instantly put me at ease and I knew I had made the right choice. I was greeted at the office by Dr. Kuang and he informed me that Dr. Gan would be treating me. Check in was a breeze and the office is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!! Dr. Gan is nothing short of a miracle worker. He is so kind and incredibly knowledgeable. He then proceeded to conduct a full evaluation and he got to work on my neck/shoulder! After our first hour together, I could turn my neck again and my constant headache had disappeared. Don't let the recent one-star review scare you! Both Dr. Kuang and Dr. Gan are VERY responsive, both on Yelp and through any of their other accounts. I have never had trouble getting a professional and timely response from them in under six hours when I wanted to book an appointment or simply had questions. Coming from someone who has social anxiety and a profound fear of any medical place/people, these two chiropractors are a godsend. They are so welcoming and friendly. Every time I walk in, I'm greeted like a friend by Dr. Kuang and Dr. Gan. I have also referred my mother here in the beginning, and both Dr. Gan and Dr. Kuang were so accommodating and helpful, going above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable even though she was worried at first that she could not speak Korean to them. Been coming here for a while. Found them on yelp haven't looked back. Dr Kuang and Dr Gan are great at what they do. I came in for some neck problems Dr Kuang analyzed my pain, checked me out and got a thorough understanding of what the root causes of my pain were. Explaining the causes, the muscles associated with the problem and how to correct the problems through adjustments but also through daily habits. He showed me exercises to help strengthen those areas so that I didn't have to come back for the same problems over and over again. Also, they're really nice guys who make you feel at ease while doing adjustments. I know it's kind of a weird to hear the adjustments popping, but you're in really good hands and they both have a way of calming you down to gain your trust. I think this is what makes the two of them stand out from those franchise chain chiropractor places. They treat you like friends, family even. They understand your issues and they care about how you are, not just physically but mentally as well. Also, there's a friendly shop dog greeter named Kilo. If you have issues with dogs, let them know and they will make sure she's in the other room when you come. I've been suffering from sciatica/piriformis syndrome in my left glute/hamstring/leg for a couple years now and for whatever reason refused to go to a chiropractor to get it looked at. Nearly a month ago, the left side of my neck started giving me issues where I couldn't really turn my head without sharp pangs of pain. After enduring the pain for a few days, I decided it was time to go get it looked at. I figured I might as well get my piriformis syndrome officially diagnosed as well. A quick Yelp search in my area brought me to Ideal Body Chiropractic, so I went to their website and requested an appointment. Dr. Kuang replied back almost instantly, which surprised me as I'm used to waiting for at least a day to get a response using those types of forms. He said he had availability that evening to take me, but I was still at work, so I opted to come in two days later. The intake process was really thorough. Dr. Kuang read over the forms I filled out prior to coming in describing my issues and asked me to elaborate as he took notes. He was very knowledgable in his assessment of my pain points and officially told me I was suffering from piriformis syndrome. I was really grateful that he was able to look at both my neck and piriformis issues in the same session. The Active Release Technique he used on both my neck/shoulder and hip/leg felt really good and totally nailed the spots I could never quite reach to relieve my piriformis symptoms. I felt super comfortable during my sessions and the conversation was really easy as well. It never felt like we were making small talk, which as an introvert, I really appreciated. All in all, I've been to the office 3 weeks in a row and have noticed my piriformis symptoms significantly lessen after the first session. Before, I couldn't even walk 5 minutes without feeling the need to sit down and stretch my left leg/hamstring. The pain in my neck completely dissolved after the first session, but Dr. Kuang still took the time to stretch and adjust it in every session anyway. Btw, the adjustments are awesome. Dr. Simon and Dr. Jason are the best. My husband and I have gone to them for about 4 sessions at this point, and it has been unlike any other chiropractic care we've ever gotten. I'm sure Neil can write his own review. The ambiance is extremely modern. If it weren't a chiropractic studio, it could definitely pass for a modern/industrial party venue. Super clean. Super cute. There are two separate beds in one room. This is where my husband and I usually are. If you're the only one for your appointment, they'll let you use the whole room. If each doctor has their own patient, they'll bring out a divider. Not noise-cancelling by any means, but it gives you some decent privacy from another patient. Dr. Simon has been my doctor from the get-go. Not only is he knowledgeable about the anatomy of the body; he is also extremely patient at explaining why certain things may be in pain or under stress. I suffer from Multiple Sclerosis, so I have a lot of random muscle pains and spasms that make it difficult to move in certain directions or at certain times. Dr. Simon has helped to alleviate a lot of the pain by not directly tackling my MS (because that's impossible), but by helping all the muscles surrounding my pains to ease up on their tension. He's taught me certain stretches that can be done at home that are actually doable and helpful. If it helps you decide whether or not Ideal Body Chiropractic is worth visiting, know that both Dr. Simon and Dr. Jason are both [Olympic] weightlifters, which ideally means that they actually know how to isolate certain muscle groups, which is extremely important in finding root cause of muscle pains. Also, if you're just starting to work out or are hitting limits to your lifting because of pain, they can both teach you proper form and technique. I was referred by one of my coworkers who personally knew Simon. I was diagnosed by an orthopedic surgeon with what looked like early onset arthritis in my left knee in October 2018 (at the age of 26). In the beginning, I was dealing with so much chronic pain my entire life from my neck down to my strained lower back that it was affecting my sleep, my weight, my overall mental and emotional well being. Cody is a amazing clinician. I had injuries my shoulder doing kipping pull ups. I thought I had strained it and allowed it to rest for a week or so, but it never fully healed. I continue to work out, hoping that it would go away. After three months, it never improved and I felt my range of motion from my shoulders was getting worse. (I couldn't raise my arm over my head without an annoying pain). I was recommended to see a chiropractor about the issue. Straight from the started Cody thoroughly evaluated my range of motion and all the muscle and joints around my shoulders. I was surprised when he said my shoulder issues were caused by the tension in my lats. He explained the biomechanics of the muscles and joints in simple and digestible terms for me to really understand the cause and how to correct it. I've been seeing Jason for the last few months and he has helped me so much with my ankle and back problems. I had an injury while playing hockey and had problems with my ankle. I thought my injury had healed but there were times when I would be walking and out of no where a sharp pain would occur and would keep me from taking another step. First off this is long overdue. I first came to see Dr Kuang about 2 months ago. I had been meaning to go get an adjustment for quite some time but I am very picky with my chiro because I hate it when they just do an adjustment charge you $50 then turn you out so they can bring in their next patient. This isn't what happens at Ideal Body. He is not just interested in a temporary adjustment but actually wants to give you permanent results. First I was attracted to the fact that Dr Kuang was previously and athlete so he would understand my injuries and lifestyle and help me get back into what I enjoy. Second thing that brought me in was his prompt response when I called him. I left a message and right away I got a call back and he was personable and honest. Not trying to sell me a service, he listened to what I had wrong, had a few suggestions and asked me to come In if I felt he was a good fit so I did. Upon my first visit he actually sat down and first off got to know me a bit like an actual person not just another number. Next he listened to my issues and waited until I was finished with everything (I had a lot of problems) and then began making suggestions on what he could do to help fix it. He took a look at my back which was my first problem and honestly I think that just needed some stretching and adjustment. Since the first visit I haven't had any issues as long as I follow the stretches he gave me and get some adjustments once a month or so. The knees were the real issue. He took the time to look at each knee, see how my patella was soooo unaligned and explained my issue and was very descriptive. He told me why it is the way it is, why it hurts, and how we can go about making the problem better. I greatly appreciated this as I like to break things down and understand why things happen the way they do so it made so much sense to me. And science is science so not much arguing with him lol. Again he did some work on my knee, massaged the scar tissue, gave me some foundation stretches and exercises to start re-aligning. As of today it had been about two months and I can see the improvement. I don't have as much pain as before, I can hike and swim further without pain and the biggest difference are my lunges. I could only perform about 5 lunges before I would have immense pain. Now I can do two full sets without pain and I can do them right! I now naturally have better alignment when I walk and workout. Overall I don't think I could have been in better hands going anywhere else. He is always in a great mood even art thou end of a long day of patients I don't feel like he is trying to kick me out. He is always willing to listen to anything else going on with me and just shoot the Sh*t for a while too. Even his mascot Kilo (please correct me if I'm wrong) is happy to see me when I come in. I would 100% recommend Ideal Body Chiro and Dr Kuang. I came in with a sprained hamstring and couldn't run or walk without pain. Today I just finished my 5th session on my hamstring and am blown away with how amazing my results are. Not only has my hamstring pain gone away Dr. Kuang started to work on a knee issue I had. I sprained my knee over a year ago and it never got back to 100%. After two sessions where Dr Kuang worked on my knee and hamstring, my knee is much improved and my hamstring pain is gone. I thought I would have to live with my knee pain for the rest of my life. Now, after two sessions on my knee I feel like I will be at 100% strength in a couple more sessions. I also love the atmosphere, it's very inviting and modern versus a stuffy traditional doctors office. Dr Kuang specializes in sports rehab and also trains athletes. By the look of his "office" it truly shows. He has commercial grade high quality fitness equipment and updated comfortable adjusting tables. I also love that he keeps it cool inside as it can get hot during treatment. Now with regards to Dr Kuang, he is very professional yet very personable. He asks me questions and then truly listens to my answers so he can treat me accordingly. I genuinely feel like he gives a crap and really wants me to feel better versus just being another paying customer. I feel as if I am the only patient he has based on his attentiveness and care, even though there is always another patient waiting. I also love how he gives me a timeline on the amount of sessions it's going to take to fix my issues.
