I had the trout which was melt in your mouth delicious and my husband loved the ribs. The vibe was so cool and Matthew strummed the guitar and sang beautifully throughout the meal. We missed the live music since we arrived so early to snag a seat (place fills quickly!) FOOD: Popcorn provided as a snack-- yum! We ordered the steak and ribs, which were both good. The steak was simply seasoned but cooked medium rare as requested and tender. The ribs were tender (not quite fall-off-the-bone but easy to eat) and the barbecue sauce was tasty with a bit of a kick. We could each choose two sides, so we chose soup (red pepper and Gouda, like a tasty spin on tomato soup) and loaded baked potato (well done!) for the steak, and mashed potatoes (served broccoli instead, but it's fine) and onion rings (tasty & crispy). Condiments including ketchup, A1 sauce and mayonnaise were all on the table for easy access. SERVICE: Very nice and attentive. OVERALL: Very good choice among the relatively limited options nearby. Seats do fill up quickly. We missed the live music but were seated with the first seating without a wait, so we were content.

We found Rustler's on Google and saw they had a large menu and lower prices than other restaurants in the area. It's a lowkey restaurant inside of the same building as a grocery store and next to a gas station. We were seated very quickly but service was very, very delayed even service even though the restaurant was practically empty. We waited about 15 mins to get our order taken, and after we placed our order, we waited about 40 mins to an hour for our two burgers and a salad. A larger party that was seated after us was given their food and almost finished it before we were given ours. We actually had to ask a staff member if our order got lost in the queue. We ordered two Rustler's burgers and one Caesar salad. The burgers came with onion rings, barbecue sauce, and cheese, along with fresh lettuce, tomato, and onions on the side. Never have I ever had a burger that was so plain and unseasoned. I don't think they seasoned my burger patty or fries at all. Even the onion rings in my burger were floppy and soggy.

By the time we finished our hike it was getting pretty late and our dinner options were running slim. We were staying at the Bryce Canyon Resort and decided to try the restaurant on site. We had plans to eat at the Bryce Canyon Pines Restaurant but we were running short on time to get there. The reviews for Cowboy Ranch House were not great so it was not our first choice. Anyway we walked in and there were about 5 tables having dinner which looked fairly busy. The restaurant was well lit and the decor definitely Western Cowboy. It was a female server that seated us and Jesus, which we learned later was the new manager as of a few months ago. Jesus was our server and very friendly. I got the 14oz ribeye which said it was 'local' on the menu which made it even more attractive. My girlfriend ordered the 1/2 Rack of Pork Ribs (bummed I didn't get a pic) to share with her daughter. OMG the ribeye was fantastic...well seasoned and perfectly med-rare! And to top that off it was only $34!!! Unheard of in San Diego for a ribeye with sides. The Pork Ribs were also freakin' good! Crispy, juicy and fall off the bone delicious. As well, I ended up getting 2 old fashioneds which were $11 each...again decent priced cocktails. I highly recommend this place despite the reviews of the past. I think Jesus had something to do with the more recent high praise reviews being the new manager. I wish we had stayed another night so that I could get the ribeye again but we were pushing to get to Yellowstone the next day. Hands Down...best meal in Bryce Canyon!!

We decided to risk the lunch buffet for $18 at Ruby's Inn, figuring that there would be at least one item we would enjoy. There isn't much information about what's actually included in the buffet, either on review sites or on their own website, so we were a bit worried about the selection. While Ruby's Inn can't match a buffet in a larger city, we found the selection to be good enough, with plenty of protein and carb options, veggies including a salad bar, and dessert afterwards. Originally we thought most of the dishes would be Sysco food heated up, but I think Ruby's Inn actually makes a surprising number of items in house. Some notes for the meat selection: Pulled pork - dry but it's quite smoky like they actually smoked it rather than using liquid smoke. Zuppa Toscana Soup - might be from a bag, but is doctored a bit making it peppery and thick. Orange Chicken - gummy with thick breading and low meat ratio, but seems to be made with real orange juice in house. Meatloaf - dry with a thick layer of ketchup baked on top. Baked chicken - bone dry and extremely overcooked. For the carbs, there's sweet cornbread with a condensed milk sauce, rice pilaf that's surprisingly hearty, mashed potato that doesn't seem to be from powder or premix since it has small chunks still, that comes with chicken gravy, and finally mac & cheese, soft with a Velveeta-esque sauce. For dessert, there's vanilla and chocolate soft serve with Hershey's chocolate and caramel topping, and three types of standard buffet dessert squares. I don't make the food sound that appetizing (and honest it would deserve a 3 rating at max in any other setting), but considering the style of dining, the pricing, and the lack of competition in the area, it's good enough to satisfy. Pro-tip: try to time a visit around the tour buses. We arrived at 1:30PM on a Wednesday to a pretty empty restaurant. Thirty minutes later four entire tour buses unloaded their passengers, who were clearly ravenous due to eating such a late lunch. The restaurant instantly filled up and the line for food stretched down the hall and around the corner. Bathrooms - Plenty of larger rooms with multiple stalls around the hotel

The ribs come with one trip to the salad bar, a big baked potato (not the tiny ones so common in restaurants these days), and a few spears of asparagus. The ribs were meaty with plenty of sauce. It was a good dinner. The buffet has two sections for salad. One didn't have any carrots or beets or other toppings that I wanted for my salad like the other section did, so check out what is in the salad bar before you get in line. There was a lady waiting to refill the mixed green/lettuce, and I offered to let her do it but she wanted to wait until after me even though there were others also waiting. My mixed greens were not the freshest. Buffet had things like macaroni and cheese, potatoes, vegetables, chicken, meatloaf, and desserts.

We got the lunch buffet-- some nice classic cafeteria options-- smoked chicken, pulled pork, and meatloaf along with mashed potatoes, gravy, beans, etc. some steamed veggies too. Getting in late it was the only place open after 9 and it was either buffet style or order off the menu. After taking a quick look at the buffet, we knew we may be in for a sub-rate meal so we cut our losses and save $15 and ordered shrimp off the menu. One of us got coconut shrimp and the other grilled shrimp and we split them between us. The one bright spot was the shrimp came with a decent amount - 10 coconut and 8 grilled. However the food was quite bad...the shrimp had no flavor, even the coconut one. The fries were horrible. The asparagus was not cooked or even fit to serve. I dropped one on the floor and I was surprised it didn't go through the floor. Service was also bad- really tried to rush people in and out. The drinks came without any straws or refills. The restaurant was large and somewhat clean but also cramped around the buffet area. Came back for breakfast because it was included with the stay. Breakfast was only buffet style. Worst bacon ever. The bread was quite stale. The potato cubes were flavorless. The canyon was lovely and the room here was fine, but do yourself a favor and find some alternate food.
