This is the only sushi place on the mountain, so we came in with low expectations. The sushi itself was decent, but my wife's udon was extremely salty--and they added fish cakes to a vegetarian udon, which was disappointing. The avocado rolls also had old, blackened avocado. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back on our next visit to the mountain.

This little spot is really delicious. When we came the service was quick and top tier. Our favorite dishes were the beef udon and gyoza - the gyoza were perfectly crispy.

Quaint Japanese restaurant at the mountains so we had to try it. Server was nice, service was fairly quick. We got some miso soups since it's a bit chilly tonight. I wanted a hot green tea but was told they don't serve them during summer. A lady next to us asked for hot water and got one so i was confused why i can't have a hot tea. We got iced tea instead which tasted really weird, i can't pin point what it was but definitely something else. I asked for lemon slices so i can place them in which didn't really mask the taste. We usually just order sashimis and nigiris when we eat at sushi spots back home in OC so that's what we did tonight. Fish was fresh and cut was thick so that's good. Although one variant of the fish was still too cold, kinda sad bc that was the best one - melted in your mouth once you eat it. The sushi rice was pretty hard though and didn't taste like sushi rice. We finished off with one roll which was tasty and had a kick to it.

Yellowtail hand roll: 4 stars. Yummy

came to Idy Sushi for lunch and opted for some yakisoba! I know why it is one of their most popular dishes. Beef Yakisoba: 5 stars Very tender and deliciously seasoned beef sauteed in a skillet with crisp carrots, cabbage, onions and yakisoba noodles! Great depth of flavor, and just the right amount of seasoning. I would recommend this dish to anyone! The beef was so good - I'm still thinking about it! Yellowtail Handroll: 4 stars Good yellowtail! Good quality fish, yummy seasoning and good rice. Crispy nori on the outside, and a healthy portion for those of you wanting a little something more. I would order this dish again. Service could use a little more help. Our waiter seemed to be more occupied with to-go orders than those of us dining in, but all in all, not a bad place. I look forward to coming back for the beef yakisoba.

GREAT SERVICE, BUT BLAND... it pains me to say this as the staff were absolutely wonderful. However, I have to be honest. I tried the edamame appetizers and they weren't a hit for me. Next, for the main course I had a order of veggie yakisoba w/ tofu and this also missed the mark big time. I didn't like that the noodles tasted store bought. Honestly I've had better maruchan noodles. The tofu was solid but it wasn't enough to save the dish. The fried fish looked good but I didn't get a chance to try it! I didn't feel like sushi this time around so I might give this place another shot, however it's going to be a while till I come back. As I'm writing this we are in the middle of the summer in Idyllwild and things are heating up. I was further disappointed that this place did NOT have AC, it was very steamy in there which made my visit a bit uncomfortable. Again, I'm sad that I have to leave this review because our waitress was awesome! Hoping they improve their cooking soon!

Came here after a hike on a Saturday for lunch. Sat inside. Quaint little shop. Clean. Friendly service. It was full of Chinese and Japanese students from the Idyllwild Arts Academy. It was cute to hear the Japanese girls commenting to each other how their food tasted like home. However, we came for the spicy pork bulgogi and kimchi. Which was yummy. The server did not hesitate to give me more kimchi, which I loved. We also ordered a rainbow roll. The fish was super cold and as a result the flavor of the crab salad overpowered the flavor of the fish. Hence, minus one star.

This place is definitely a hidden gem in Menifee!…read more We were welcomed as soon as we walked in by our server, Micah who was amazing!! Very attentive, explained the menu, and gave solid recommendations. The restaurant is clean, spacious and clearly family‑owned, which gives it a warm, homey vibe. Mama's Kitchen is the real deal. It's not an all‑you‑can‑eat or cook‑your‑own type of spot. This is true Korean home cooking, made fresh by Mama herself in the kitchen. The name couldn't be more accurate. The menu offers a good variety of different dishes, which are big enough to share between 2 people. We ordered the Japchae and the Korean short ribs (Galbi), which came with steamed rice and five small plates of banchan. The dishes were the perfect amount for my mom and me to share. Everything was delicious. The Galbi was melt‑in‑your‑mouth tender, and the Japchae was seasoned just right with bulgogi and shiitake mushrooms. The banchans definitely hit the spot. I couldn't get enough of the fish cake, shredded daikon kimchi, and cucumber kimchi. The only thing I would suggest, is the size of their banchan! Their serving size were very small amounts. This was our first time here and it didn't disappoint. Mama even came out to check on us, welcomed us personally, and even took a picture with my Mama!! Overall I was quite pleased with our food, even my pickiest critic, my mom, gave it her official Mom's Stamp of Approval, so we'll definitely be back.

For some reason, I just never made it back here; probably because the Promenade area isn't usually along our route. Coming here tonight genuinely brightened my day. I had just finished a long shift and a commute, and all I wanted was a good, comforting meal. My nutritionist told me yesterday need to significantly increase my protein intake to help reduce muscle loss related to my autoimmune thyroid condition. KBBQ seemed like the perfect choice; lots of protein without a lot of unnecessary junk. On my way home, I stopped at two other KBBQ restaurants. Apparently, I was unaware of the unspoken rule that some places don't serve parties of one on weekends. One restaurant even had me wait 25 minutes before telling me they wouldn't seat a solo diner during the weekend. Unfortunately, my husband is currently deployed, so being a party of one isn't exactly a choice for me right now! Normally, dining alone doesn't bother me at all, but today it got to me. I was exhausted and simply wanted a comforting meal. Being turned away after waiting 25 minutes just because I by myself was the last thing I needed. When I called this restaurant, the owner or manager immediately answered and was incredibly friendly. He explained that they offer entrée and plate options for guests who aren't doing the all-you-can-eat menu. I honestly don't understand why more restaurants don't offer this. I know the food industry is competitive and businesses have to make money, but having options for solo diners makes such a difference. When I arrived, I received wonderful service right away, and there was no wait, but they were full. The owner or manager recognized me as the person who had called earlier and went out of his way to make me feel welcome since we found out we're from the same area. He even added a little surprise to my order simply out of kindness. The entire staff was friendly, professional, and attentive. In an area with no shortage of restaurants, I want to give this place the credit it deserves, not only for the excellent food, but for the heart behind the business. Today, I'm especially grateful for the kindness and generosity shown to me. You never know what someone may be going through, and a simple act of thoughtfulness can make a bigger impact than you realize. His kindness truly lifted my spirits after a long and difficult day. I believe this is a small family-owned business, and they absolutely deserve the support of the community. Great food is easy to find; genuine hospitality is much harder to come by. I'll definitely be back!
