I drove my daughter and her 2 friends up the mountain for some pizza. After we placed our order they informed me they didn't accept American Express. No big deal my fault. As I'm walking out they call me back in. The lady behind me decided to pick up my tab. (Which brought me to tears) very very thankful for that! Once we got our pizza the girls asked for ranch. Ranch is .50 cents..... the little cash I had on me I gave to the girls to play games. The owner overheard and gave it to us for free. The entire staff was so nice. OK now about the food! WOW! Legit some of the best pizza I have ever had. The pizza sauce taste so fresh! My mouth is watering thinking about it right now! Not greasy! Just perfect! I highly recommend this place. Unexpected gourmet pizza in this sleepy little mountain town. We picked up a pie to go as we were camping nearby and the large pizza amusingly served as dinner, breakfast and lunch for the two of us. We couldn't decide on what type of pizza to get I wanted it one way he wanted it another and shazaam the girl behind the counter said that she could do it half and half for us, even the specialty style pizza. Zero stars. Bad food. Poor customer service, actually no service. I wouldn't go back here if it were free. My friends and I went here for pizza and beers after I hike. You order at the cash register, they call your name to pick up. I gave a $10 tip on $55 upfront to show some love to a local joint. The wings we ordered were really bad. It was like they were boiled or microwaved to cook them, then put in an oven dish with wing sauce and put in the pizza oven. They were soggy and really disappointing. The pizza took almost an hour, and when they called my name to pick it up, it was cold and charred. The crust was rock hard and black underneath. I demanded a refund, and was given the money back in cash for the pizza. We all make mistakes and have off days/nights, but it's how we deal with those situations that defines who we are and what we stand for. Nothing was done to correct the problem and there was no attempt to make things right. Very disappointing experience. We went to Gastronome afterwards and had a good meal. read more

The 'system' for take out is to get the one non-native English speaker to yell through a mic that distorted the buggery out of the voice. Not too many choices around and it was cold so my husband and I thought we'd warm ourselves up with some pizza and some brew. We went in November last year and this place is cozy, busy, has great food, and service. We ordered and took it back to our cabin since it was super busy in there. The wait wasn't long andi t was sooooooo fresh! We requested thin crust and extra crispy...Lots of deliciousness going on here have a good amount of selection if you like beer. They had a bunch of seasonal ones so we tried one of each of ones we have never have and unfortunately, I dont remember the names but I know one was a pumpkin ale. Anyway, I like this place. This is a little hidden gem in "Downtown" Idyllwild. There's some great pizzas here for ~$15. If you decide to build your own and customize everything, it's gonna cost a little bit more. This is the closest thing you're going to find to a sports bar in Idyllwild. The TVs in the restaurant are usually playing whatever game is going on, and there's a pretty big selection of beer here (although I didn't get to sample any of the offerings because we were prepping for a kids' camp at Idyllwild Pines nearby). There's a bunch of pretty jenky arcade games in the back. +1 for having a real, functional pinball machine. If you're in this area for a camping trip definitely check this place out! read more

I can't believe some of the reviews I've read here, so much so that I decided to write my first review ever! First & foremost, they make a great pizza. i'm a transplanted New York Pizza snob and while this is not a New York Pizza it's as good as I've had and if you ask for it "thin" style, well done it's as close to New York style as you're gonna get. They have an AMAZING menu and incredible variety of pizza's. You won't go wrong with any of the pizza's. They make an absolutely great Bruschetta & Baked Ziti and have a wide assortment of sandwiches with the best being the Meatball and Knockout sandwiches where they make their own meatballs. I would keep away from the wings as they are not deep fried, but go for the Portobello, which is incredible. The staff is Very helpful & friendly and have never seen them be rude even when the customers were rude to them, The guy working the front has the patience of Jobe, always having a smile and friendly word, making everyone feel special and always trying to make people laugh. Most importantly he has great suggestions for food, just ask him, he loves letting you know whats best on the menu!!! AND I've come to find out he is a big Sports fan and there is always some sporting event on all the TV's. I've also come in when the owner was here do not for one second believe the couple reviews saying she was anything but wonderfully friendly and nice. Usually these bad reviews are personal and a lot of times done by ex employees!! I have read some complaints regarding the time it takes to get your food. Being a full blown Foodie, one of the first things you do is is find out where the locals go to and where the people are. The reason there is a wait at times is that everyone knows this is the best restaurant on the hill. This is not fast food, if you want fast food stay away from Idyllwild as the town does not allow any fast food restaurants. They make everything fresh and made to order with any kind of request. Note: when we first walked in, one of my friends asked one of the other diners how the pizza was - with wide ideas and a jabbing fork, she pointed to her pizza, mumbling ''s reall' gooth'' - but for some reason my snobbish pride just didnt' believe her. There are a few places where I have been amazed at the deliciousness, but more often than not, I am simply sad at the result. Homemade pizza is always triumphant over store-bought/delivery. But, I do have to say that Idyllwild illicited responses of 'damn', 'yum' ,'oh yes.... yum!' and more. The tomato sauce (which is ladled on) is delicious. The rest of the topping is a little on the light side, but still, this is the most delicious pizza I have had, well, since I made my own last year - but that one was damn amazing and incomparable to all. And the best thing - this was a simple vegetarian pizza, nothing particularly special about the toppings - artichoke, pepper, olives, y'know, normal stuff. Considering as we walked in, I was simply cold and fed up of looking for somewhere to eat, figured this place was going to be crap but warm, and depressed by the sight of the teenagers dallying about in the kitchen - I was so very happy to walk out with a full and happy belly. They have VEGAN PIZZA! The dough is vegan as well as several sauces including the red sauce and olive oil. They say the pesto is also vegan but since pesto usually contains cheese I'm a little skeptical. Ask them to leave off the cheese and load it up with veggies and BAM - VEGAN PIZZA in IDYLLWILD! We did exchange a couple toppings and add a couple but seriously $36? The pizza itself was better than Dominoes but I expected more than we got. I asked for a pizza box to take the half with us that we didn't eat and was given a flimsy styrofoam box that was bursting at the seams with the leftovers.
