Ok so i call this guy to fix the charging port in my iPhone. "Yeah, ok. Yeah...". Grunt, grumble. Jeez. When i get there he's alone in a tiny one room office. No greeting. "Takes about 30 minutes to fix." Ok great go ahead. I sit there and after a few minutes he asks, "So u gonna sit there and wait? Cause it makes me uncomfortable. Gene is the BEST. I send EVERYONE with a computer/ phone issue to him. I met him years ago when I had problems with my iPhone. But we really got to know each other when I spilled coffee on my MacBook Pro. At first I went to Apple (since I had paid for the warranty) and they told me due to it being water damage the pricing would automatically fall under their 3rd tier, meaning I would have to pay $800 minimum to diagnose and maybe more for repair OR my other option was to get a new laptop. Mind you this laptop had my life in it ( I do art and graphics for a living) AND I was a broke college student, so neither were good options for me. I have had multiple devices that Gene has repaired for me on different occasions. He is honestly great at what he does!! I've had different phones with cracked screens repaired and he was also able to save my current phone when it was submerged in water. Whenever I need a phone fixed I call him to let him know. He will come by work, pick up the device and have it repaired and back to me the same day. In the past he has also repaired screens right in front of me within 20 minutes!! He is fast, efficient, punctual and super nice! Now the time I was really impressed was when he saved my phone after it was in water. I had my IPhone 5 in my shirt pocket and I was cleaning the toilet. When I bent over my phone slipped out and right into the toilet. It got stuck in the drain and I put my hand in right away to pull it out but it was stuck and it was in for at least 40 seconds!! Once I got it out of course it wasn't on and I tried to put it in rice. I called Gene right away and explained what happened. He told me he would try to see if he could salvage it but made no promises. He came shortly after to my work to pick up the phone. The next day he brought my phone back to me working!! He said he took it apart quickly and let all components dry. He then put it all back together and thankfully the phone lit up!! Lesson of the day: go to the Apple Store. It's not worth trying to save a few bucks by bringing it to a third party repair shop--at least not this one. I shattered the glass on my iPhone and brought it in for a glass replacement. Then had to bring it back again because there was a bubble in the replacement glass. Then had to bring it back a third time because the display was malfunctioning. Then had to come back a fourth time because the phone no longer vibrated. Finally, I asked for my money back. So he puts a shattered screen BACK on my phone and all the while, gives me attitude for problems that he has caused while attempting to fix my phone. He tells me that he doesn't want to be accused of breaking my phone. The display and vibration issues only started happening AFTER he "fixed" my phone. I'm no Sherlock, but I'll let you draw your own conclusions. Avoid this place at all costs. It's not worth your money, time or effort. read more

This guy may be good in repairing small stuff like broken screens but DO NOT go for major repairs.. Better off, sell your phone on ebay and buy a new one.. I had water damage on my iphone and i called up this business. Gene said he is able to fix 9 out of 10 water damaged phones. Said $20 if not fixed, $60 if fixed. I said sounds good. Next day he calls and says the phone is fixed. I go and see the phone is only 10% fixed, meaning, it was turning ON but nothing beyond that.. I asked him whats the point in having a phone that does not do anything but switch ON. He asked me additional $20 to fix it. Finally had to pay $70. Brought the phone home and saw that WIFI was gone, Bluetooth is gone, meaning they are completely gone. Called him and he says take it Apple Store. If I was ready to that buddy, why the hell would I come to you.. Who do you take for me? I thought no point, lets sell it on ebay. I did manage to sell it as a parts only phone. The person that bought the phone sent me a message saying that the phone is missing screws from bottom and asked me if anyone opened the phone. The only person that opened the phone is Gene. I finally have an uncracked phone screen. Nice. I was devastated after dropping my unprotected phone onto Daiso's hard floor and seeing the screen shatter. I was even more devastated when I found out how f'ing expensive it was to fix. I called around everywhere for a quote, and this place had the best price. I liked that he was honest with me about the possible side effects of changing the screen without changing the touch panel as well. (which is the "correct" but more expensive way). My phone now looks as good as new, ALTHOUGH I can definitely tell a difference between the touch sensitivity before and after. If you've got the spare change around, I'd recommend changing out the whole package, touch and screen. It was just too expensive for me, seeing that I'm going to be upgrading in 1 year. For now, I'm happy to have an uncracked s3. *The store is in a nondescript office suite but there is a small but visible sign. Parking for that building is closed on weekends, but I had no trouble parking in the plaza next door. read more

So I did what any smart yelper would do, I looked on Yelp for someone to fix my phone. I took my phone to him today. The surgery began around 11:25. My phone was out of recovery before 12 pm. I watched this guy completely tear my phone apart. I have to admit, I cringed and winced a little, but after reading all the Yelp reviews I remembered my phone was in the hands of a true genius! This guy can fix anything! I casually talked to him and he has even fixed a phone that was ran over by car! Small FYI - He only goes my appointments on the weekends. I would call ahead to make sure he has the parts. I got lucky today, he happened to have the parts for my Thunderbolt and his appointment had no-showed. GPS will get you to the cross streets. Remember to look at the address he is located at. You have to walk inside a building and he is inside an office. This guy is super nice and very honest. Gene probably makes his money off of me. I cracked my screen so many times and he fixed it for me in a timely manner and for a reasonable cost! I don't remember the last couple times I went but last week, I had to fix my iPhone 5S to trade it in for an upgrade. He fixed the lock button, screen, housing for $150 (I might be missing something) but for just screen repairs, it was around $60-$70? Forgive me if I'm wrong. Not only did he fix my phone, but he helped me out by calling his references at Verizon stores to ask about the upgrades and whether or not my phone would be accepted. Gene is great. I went in the other day to get my sisters weird audio problem fixed on her iPhone 6 which went bad after she pulled out her aux cable from it and something was left inside. Shattered my iPhone 4s screen on a Wednesday morning. Died inside and thought my world was going to end. Emailed and called a few places to ask for a quote on getting my charger port fixed. Not only did Gene give me a reasonable price, he was the first to email me back. Brought my phone in right away and had to leave it over night....overnight becomes week long. Turns out, he couldn't solder a new port onto my motherboard. What he ended up doing was just ordering a new motherboard for my phone. For my inconvenience, he lowered the price on the original quote substantially. One of the best in the city! Called like 10 other places nearby and all the other places were charging me 10%-20% more to fix my phone. My lcd digitizer was broken, so i had to replace my entire screen. He did an awesome if not flawless job, with the repair. I liked the fact that he actually put in significant effort to try and help me reduce my cost to fix it. (such as refurbished pieces, even though i opted out of it) He even explained everything with clarity above and beyond what i was expecting, unlike the other phone repair store i went to. (lcd digitizer was cracked, even though my glass looked good. Showed me all the burnouts on the lcd screen, and showed me why the other repair guy from another store did a piss poor job on my screen.) Also, he is honest about his prices, gave me the same price when my friend asked how much it was to fix (on the phone the day before) Forgot to add, he even makes sure your phone works /w your sim card before you leave. This place is kind of hidden, probably only able to find it if you go on yelp. So yes, this is the best place to repair your phone if your nearby. I have been here 5 times over the past few years and decided to finally write a review. Gene is professional, friendly, honest, and most importantly VERY good at what he does. On his wall you will see a certificate for his expertise with phone repairs, something you don't see for people who charge money for repairs say on Craigslist or at a mall. For screen replacements the turn around time is usually 30 minutes or less assuming he has the parts and isn't busy with other fixes. I've had multiple iPhone screens replaced, a jammed power button on my iPod and all services were reasonably priced with a 30 day warranty. This one time I thought my iPhone was water damaged and through research I assumed it was a damaged IC chip. When I contacted Gene he said to bring it by and if it needed to be repaired/replaced he could do it, (something that no other "repair" place even knew what that was.) From watching the process on YouTube it seems quite complicated and even though that wasn't the case and it didn't need to be replaced the fact that he didn't even hesitate and knew exactly what I was talking about is proof he knows what he is doing. Another time my phone glass was NOT broken but the digitalizer was and he told me to try going to the apple store and getting the entire phone warrantied. Not only did he say that but even made an appointment for me at the apple store. The store ended up not replacing my phone and I went back to him anyways but that's honesty you don't see that often. For others, phone repairs are something people do for extra money. For Gene this is his full time business. I strongly recommend his shop to anyone. read more

iphone6: 6 trips, not worth it! I have been to this location when I had to fix my iphone 5s a few years ago, and I never had a problem. Now with the iphone 6, the product is different, which came with other issues that I didn't think would happen when I went. Trip 1: I called and he said that I can come in that evening. When I came, he told me I had to wait about two hours since he ran out of the iphone6 screens. I had to be somewhere so he told me that I can pay $30 for a temporary less cracked screen. Next time I come, I can pay the difference on the next visit for a brand new screen. Trip 2: I came back and got it fixed, so total I paid $85. On the drive home, I was playing with my phone and realized the screen was the right side was popped up. It looks like it wasn't smoothly placed, which was bothering me. I came back, which he was kind enough to redo it. Trip 3: After about a week, I realized that the screen was slowly popping up on the top part of the phone. I really don't know how I have so much patience, but I came back again. Trip 4: SAME THING HAPPENED. On top of that he was giving excuses that it's because of the hot weather at the time, and the glue probably melted. Trip 5: I told myself that this is the last time I would visit him. I asked him that this time if it would happen again. He told me to wait at least til Oct 31 (two weeks from this visit). It didn't take more than just two days, the screen popped up again to the point where I can stick my nails in there and lift it. From pictures you can't really tell. But if you look closely, you'll know what I am talking about. Trip 6: Before I dropped by, I gave him a call. I sincerely told him my concerns, and asked him for a refund. He was arguing with me for a while, but agreed that he will refund but for less. There was a misunderstanding because I thought he would take out less. When I came, he told me to give him about 40 min so he can take out the screen and give me a cracked one. I figured that would be the case anyway from this business. He gave me $75 back. I left because I didn't want to deal with it anymore. Overall, my advice to you is that if you are an Apple user, just get it fixed at the actual store. It only costs $109 for a cracked screen. I lost more than I thought since the money went to gas and I wasted my time driving to this place. Also know that once your phone is touched by an outside party (meaning it is replaced with an outside product), Apple will not touch it. I waited about two weeks with this new screen from Apple before I decided to write this review. And I have yet to come across any problems. Although this man may be really kind and provided great service, just save yourself the trouble and get it fixed elsewhere. read more

Went in today to get help with my broken Galaxy s6. The screen is not working and I have a pattern code so I'm unable to access the photos from my PC. I had called a few other places closer to home and I got a lot of "oh we can't do that with the pattern code on" and "well did you back them up online?" (If I did I wouldn't be calling lol) So I called Mr. Park and explained to him what was going on, and he said no problem he can do it! I was almost ready to give up, every place I called couldn't do it and I was thrilled he found it simple to do, no problem. Dropped the phone off with him, and was going to have it done in a few hours (I'm just going to pick it up tomorrow).
