I usually don't write reviews but... Short review version: Gene saved me $175 to fix my camera, battery, and screen on my iPhone5 instead of buying a whole new phone and he fixed it all in one hour! Long review version: I have the iPhone5 and I've had it since late September 2012. On Christmas Day 2013, I noticed my rear facing camera wasn't focusing properly. So I made an appointment with Genius Bar that Friday evening. After talking to the rep, he recommended that I purchase a whole new phone because my battery was also in bad condition. So to get the camera and battery replaced it would come out to be about the same price as getting a whole new iPhone5 ($260 + tax = about 300). I told the rep I would think about it and went home. Well that night I broke the top right side of my screen and by Monday the glass on that side had fallen off and the insides of my phone were showing. This morning I searched on yelp and I found this repair shop with the 5 star rating so I gave Gene a call. I went in to his shop at 12:15 and within one hour, he fixed my camera, replaced my battery and fixed my screen (also put a screen protector). His shop is only an office inside a building; it's not very hard to find, he has signs up outside and in. He speaks both Korean and English fluently (for out there in the yelp community). And I was also surprised that within that one hour that I was there, about 5 customers came in to drop their phone off and had phone calls coming in every 10min. Very busy man but also does his job swiftly and diligently! If you have problems with your phone, please don't try and fix it yourself.. I learned my lesson haha.. Gene is very fast and good. I went for a same-day Android screen fix. Gene fixed it in 30-45min for the best deal. I went to other repair shops, and they wanted me to wait for a week so they could order the screen replacement, but Gene already had everything on site and does the job with better quality. Found this place on Yelp and had a difficult phone problem. The touchscreen wouldn't work so I couldn't do ANYTHING. He told me it would take maybe a day which was fine with me bcuz it was an extra IPhone 6 that I was planning on giving to my son. Well it turned out to be more difficult than even he thought but he kept in touch with me the whole time and sent me pics of my working phone when it was done! Have problems with your iPhone, iPad, Android, Nintendo DS etc...? This is THE place to run to! Even if you don't live in California, shipments are accepted for your coveted smart phone to get repaired. Trust me, no one else is more perfect for the job. :) I've been living in pure hell with dealing with my Android EVO 4G for nearly over a month. It stopped charging. Run down to Sprint repair store in Pasadena a couple days before a road trip (of course, it has to happen before I go out of town, right?). I come back after dropping off my phone for repair and the technician comes out and shakes his head. "Sorry, ma'am. We don't have the tools to fix your phone." He opens it up and out drops a small pinky nail-sized charging piece. The charger piece came off the motherboard and he said to go to a place nearby that would solder it back on for about $60. After doing much research, this is apparently a common problem in the type of phone I have. *Sigh* Road trip done, now searching for another place that could possibly help me. Found a highly-rated place in North Hollywood that deals with this phone. I drive down there and get the bad news that they refuse to fix my phone. Why? Apparently, it is a risk that it would permanently ruin the speaker/microphone because of where the charger piece was located. The guy didn't want to take the risk of fixing it because of that potential problem. While I appreciated the honesty, I was getting quite miffed that I was just bouncing around with a defective $400 phone. My boyfriend found this place online and told me to take the chance and drive across town. I looked up the reviews on Yelp and checked out the website to see it was exactly what I wanted. Third time the charm, right? I drive out sitting in about an hour's worth of traffic after the Memorial Day break to get to the place. We get there, there is a note on the door reading as, "Be back at 2 p.m." Looked at my clock, it was 11:30 a.m. CRAP! It was okay though. I had to run errands nearby in Placentia, so it was not a lost cause. Passed the time, come back, and there he was! His name is Gene, and he runs the place all on his own. Gene was VERY helpful, friendly, and what I loved most, is that he is a perfectionist AND double-checked to make sure the problem was solved BEFORE I left. While we were waiting, I couldn't help but to notice that Gene had a nice certification pinned on the wall noting he completed three levels of cellular technical repair service. That right away made me feel good that my phone was in the hands of someone that knew exactly what he was doing. About 35 minutes later, the phone is as good as new AND it charges! In fact, I'm looking over at the table right now where it is at and I see the little orangeish blob glowing to show it is charging. While it was my fault to not call in and check ahead of time (especially after a holiday weekend) to make sure Gene would be available, I would just call or text him at the number listed to see if he'll be around before venturing out. Gene is nothing short of awesome and I'm super happy to have made the trip to get the expert service. Thank you, Gene! My husband is a lot like me, a klutz. (Maybe that's why we work) He dropped his phone while we were at disneyland and he was incredibly disappointed. He searched and searched and came upon this place at the suggestion of one of his friends. We went, and it's located inside a "Wear house" (for lack of a better description) and we walked inside where a Korean man was seated watching TV and working on other phones. I play in a band where we use a 4th gen. iPod Touch to playback the drum machine and sequenced keyboard. Well, before our gig one night, the iPod fell and then something fell on it. The glass was almost completely spider web'd with cracks, and not having any experience with shattered glass on a portable device such as this, freaked the F out that it was totaled and would have to pay up $399 for another one. It turned out it still worked and we risked using it for the show (it went great, thanks!). So the next couple of days I researched getting the glass fixed as that was all that seemed to be wrong with it (according to more knowledgeable friends), so I ended up going to iFIXsmartphone. I dropped my HTC Rezound like a moron a couple weeks ago, and after looking around for a while, I was thrilled (but cautious) to find his business on Yelp, with lots of apparently real people raving about his expertise. I was skeptical at first, but he replaced my screen same day for sixty bucks out the door. And, to top it off, when I noticed my touch screen not responding the same way as before I dropped it, he told me to bring it back in, and he fixed it at no charge. This place is really cool. No effrontery, no haggling. He'll fix your phone for a fair price, and make sure you're happy with the result, from my experience. Sure beats buying a new phone! Highly, highly, stupendously recommended. An interesting note: he was out for a week at a training seminar a little while ago, he told me, and was chagrined to find that people hadn't gone elsewhere in the meantime as he would have thought--instead, he had tons of repairs waiting for him Monday morning when he got back. I broke my phone and was really upset. I have never broken any of my phones, ever! I called Apple because I have apple care, it would have only cost me $29 with apple care. BUT... I would have to wait until they found someone available to fix it. Apparently they don't have someone at all times to fix these. I checked yelp and found IFIX. I called and set the appointment. Two days before Christmas, the charging port in my iPhone finally gave out. I had been limping along for many months, charging my phone by jiggling various brands of charging cables to get my phone to charge. I thought my problem was a bad lightning cable, so I kept buying more of them, both genuine Apple and MFI-certified ones. One by one, each brand of cable failed. The problem was clearly the charging port, but I was too busy to get it fixed sooner. Then, on the night before Christmas eve, my phone would no longer charge. iFIXsmartPhone to the rescue. I used my laptop to Yelp some stores that fixed iPhones, both charging ports and replaced batteries. I read the reviews. I know I could have gone to Apple directly but their stores were shutdown due to the coronavirus pandemic. After my iPhone4 stopped working due to water damage, I took my phone to iFixsmartphones to see if it could be repaired on the cheep. After about an hour, my phone worked perfectly. During the repair, he pointed-out the corrosions and explained to me why the home button, the charger, as well as the speaker didn't work, and replaced them with new parts. The best part about this is that I only paid $65.
