I don't think Iggys can handle the amount of people anymore . The food was very subpar. When you pay 36 $$$ for dish it should be pretty decent. I ordered the lobster ravioli. It was under cooked and it was almost cold. The small lobster claw was rubbery and chewy . My friend ordered stuffed shrimp which was pricey too. The shrimp was small and very overcooked/dried out and tasted like iodine. Certainly wasn't fresh. My other friend ordered the chocolate cake for dessert at 10 bucks a slice. It was dry. The whipped cream was all melty/runny and came from a can. It had odd taste. Our bill came to over 200 dollars plus a hefty tip because the waiter was hustling his butt off to keep up with all the clientele. It wasn't his fault the food was horrible. A step up from their classic neighbor, Iggy's Boardwalk has a much more relaxed approach to seafood (a.k.a, you're not standing in line for an hour just to get one bowl of chowder). The Boardwalk has that beachfront style that is very appealing: white walls and dark woods with large bay windows and doors letting in a ton of natural light. Outside, the Boardwalk has a full bar shaped like an octagon, with plenty of seating. There's also plenty of room outdoors for private events, and easy access to the beach if that's what you're there for. The bar is very efficient. There's typically three or four people behind the bar, and nobody's waiting longer than two minutes to be served. My company had their office party here, and I must say, their service is incredible. For parties, there is a full buffet of chowder, fried and baked fish, french fries, salad, ribs and chicken. I honestly wasn't very impressed. Our server was average in attentiveness and the restaurant was average in cleanliness. At lunchtime, it was not very crowded and I felt like I was dining at the senior center lunchroom. The view was below average as their restaurant catering van blocked one window and the plastic sheeting to the outside patio blurred out the whole back of the restaurant view to the beach. The food was also very average and touristy in preparation. The red chowder was a salty potato soup. I had less than a tablespoon of shredded unidentifiable clam and it was so overcooked it could have been from a grocery store can. The lobster roll sandwiches both hot and cold were good but the portion size scoop of lobster was very, very pricey and did not fill the toasted bun. The lobster was mainly chopped tail meat and less than 1 whole claw between the 2 sandwiches. I was happy that I could substitute greenbeans for the fries on 1 order because the fries seemed as if they came from a frozen bag. The food was outstanding! We had Lobster Roll and Lobster Bomb. The lobster roll was good but the lobster bomb was mind blowingly good. If you have to choose, go with the Bomb! You won't regret it. Also, the gazebo in the outdoor bar is pretty. If you are waiting for your seats or just want drinks, that's the place to go! Also, if you wonder, what is the difference between Boardwalk and doughboy& Chowder House? Boardwalk has full service and liquor licenses. This was my first time at the restaurant portion of Iggy's. We've always gone to the walk up window which gave you every fried option available. It was nice to order something not fried. Their sit down restaurant is designed really well and very clean. The large windows facing the ocean was planned well. Someone was thinking. Their menu was laid out well and easy to follow. Their prices are fair for the seafood selections. We ordered the calamari. It was spicier than normal - which we didn't mind. We loved it. It was the right consistency with a light flaky batter. Their chowders were a hit for our crew - whether it was white, red or clear. 1st - it came out steaming hot. We can't take for granted - I can't tell you how many times I've said "why isn't this chowder hot?" It was filled with the right blend of clams and potatoes. I ordered the pasta primavera with the chicken and shrimp. I brought home what I couldn't finish in a doggie bag - affirming the loaded portion. I chose to have it with both the shrimp and the chicken. Usually the primavera is loaded and soaked in butter. This dish was set right in a large bowl with five large shrimp and a large sliced portion of chicken breast. It was like digging for treasure when I would come upon another piece of shrimp. My only complaint --- I tasted some of my wife's lobster bisque - it was very thick, it had tons of butter, flour and rue. It wasn't good. read more

Wonderful touch to Iggys. The boardwalk has a very different touch than the actual Iggys. But both right by the water , a nice view and seafood. The boardwalk for right now is an outdoor on the patio , in the back restaurant. And right behind where you are seated is a bar gazebo. Everything is outside, and the tables have umbrellas over them so the sun doesn't kill you. First and foremost the menu is nothing like Iggys , they have an actual seafood menu , and 5.00 appetizers doesn't get better than that. The food is great , I really enjoy it every time I go. And the drinks are great. It's a little difficult sitting outside because stuff likes to fly away, but the view is amazing! The staff is very friendly but they're always short staffed , making the wait a little longer than it should be when waited on. And there's about 12-15 tables outside , not including the bar so once it's full you have to wait. That's my only 2 negatives and as to why this place doesn't get 5 stars. Absolutely fresh, delicious seafood in a spot with a view of Greenwich Bay from the covered, heated porch. I ordered grilled swordfish with garlic butter ... or some kind of butter, at any rate! It was fresh, tender and perfectly cooked. Also, the butter was real, as in, from cows which you can't say for the industrial, mystery yellow grease that lousy seafood restaurants pass off as butter. For sides i got vegetable medley, which was a delightful surprise, as in, NOT canned crap, no horrible strung beans. Deliciously cooked carrots, cauliflower, red peppers and broccoli. Might have been lightly roasted-- they had that hint of caramelized sweetness. Wait staff was chipper, place was pretty empty and thus well socially spaced. Make sure to call for a reservation, though, regardless of what oddball weekday hour you drop in, lest you make the host grumpy. Good job, all!! read more

Took advantage of the beautiful weather to visit one our favorites. Iggy's never disappoints. The lobster rolls and chowder were excellent. You can't find clear broth chowder in many places. They have the best in RI. It was very busy with the sunny day, but the service was quick and very attentive. The hot bread is served with butter or olive oil and Balsamic vinegar. We scouted out bar seats while waiting for our buzzer to go off. Finally two seats opened and a man asked us if he could take it because he'd given up his seats already since he was dining alone. He ended up buying us drinks to make up for it! Then a few minutes later 2 more opened up so we rushed over there. I ordered a Sunken Treasure! I couldn't taste any alcohol. I could only taste the Midori, so you won't get buzzed off of this! However, we looked young (but I'm inching 30), so I'm wondering if they made it virgin because he never asked to see an ID and I didn't see any Blue Curacao or taste any rum. So maybe that's why!! Look at my photo and you tell me! However, we sat in the bar area which in CA you typically can't sit there unless you're 21, but I don't know the laws of the land here. The bartenders were really nice and friendly though! And we didn't pay for the drinks so I didn't bother to ask. We ordered the Lobster Burger and asked for it to be cut in half to share. We frequent Iggy's next door and love it but finally tried this place. They still serve the clam cakes here, which are amazing. I had the most delicious lobster macaroni and cheese that I've ever had. It had so much lobster in it I couldn't believe it. It also fed my husband and I for dinner the next night because it was a huge serving. I can't even remember what he had because we were in awe over my dish. I've been a patron of Iggy's basically all of my life. I was unaware they had built an actual restaurant though so I was pleasantly surprised once I realized they have the take out building and now Iggy's Boardwalk. The staff were pleasant and attentive. the meal was fairly priced and the portions of meals were generous. I learned a few life hacks for my next trip (which I've shared below)and I'll definitely be visiting again. So a few life pro tips before you go. 1. Go early and don't bother making a reservation unless you have a party of 5 or more. also, make reservations in advance. they take the phone off the hook because it's insanely busy during the summer months. 2. be prepared to wait to be seated. during peek times it can take 45-60 mins to be seated. give the host a cell number instead of taking the buzz disc. the buzz disc only covers you until you reach Oakland beach. 3. invest in some insect repellent spray ahead of time. if you sit on the outdoor patio past sun set it's a round trip ticket to mosquito city. read more

If you're looking for seafood anytime of the year, pop down to the boardwalk. It's really good and if you're familiar with Iggys, you'll know this. The menu offers many of the same classics as it's takeout counterpart, but it also has other 'premium' options, too. We had Mahi Mahi and Swordfish, along with some chowder and little necks and it was all delicious. The restaurant itself was comfortable, clean, and the wait staff were great. If you're planning on getting swordfish (or a similar quality fish) expect to pay a premium price. This was my first visit to Iggy's Boardwalk after being a long time Iggy's clam cakes and chowder fan. We had a large party and it was a long wait. They had another large party that sat there finished just chatting for over half an hour after their tables were cleared. Hostess was too afraid to say anything to the table as it was a relative of someone who worked there. :/ Once we got seated service was great and the food was so good! Fresh calamari and awesome steamers were had for appetizers. Clean and perfectly cooked steamers. For dinner we had the baked seafood dinner. Literally the best baked scallops I have ever had. The stuffies here are always good and the chowder is the same that you would expect from Iggy's. This one goes to the top of our sit down restaurants list when visiting family in Warwick. read more

What a great local find on our first trip to Rhode Island. We were with hockey families for a tournament and spread the word! I have to say I was pretty impressed with the location and atmosphere. You have to sit on the patio for a true summer ambience. Love the view of the ocean with the swaying palm trees- right on point. The food portion was average. It's a step up from the takeout menu next door. Definitely somewhere to go if you are craving more than some clam cakes and chowder. I enjoyed the half shelled oysters and delicious clam chowder. My sons burger was burnt to a crisp- true hockey puck. Even so I will be back. read more
