We saw staff mopping the dining area and cleaning the restrooms (had to wait, but wasn't in a rush as I usually wash my hands before any meal). Menu was not sticky either! Lots of choices and place was half full when we arrived for dinner and more customers arriving during our meal. Nice hospitality and friendly staff. Attentive and gave drink refills once flagged. Food was decent and fresh as it can be. Nothing burnt/over cooked or undercooked. Hubby got Classic Burger with Bacon and fries and I decided to go with Crispy Fish platter (fish and chips). We went here for a Sunday brunch and thankfully they had seats. It was almost a full house inside and when tables cleared, new parties came in. They have a free parking lot but even that was packed. Service was friendly and quick. The food is good as it gets for an IHOP. It's not amazing but it satisfies for a chill breakfast/brunch. I ordered the spicy poblano eggs Benedict - there was a 0 spiciness level and the eggs felt like they were just hard boiled. My mother ordered the steak tips with onions and mushroom but I thought the sauce was on the sweeter side. My husband got the country fried steak which was probably the best thing out of the three of us. Very polite, made good suggestions and could definitely be working in a higher end restaurant. This was a nice find in Sheepshead Bay. Clean, modern, nice atmosphere, great service. They have a very extensive menu for everyone. There's a kids menu, senior menu, great options for healthy eating which I was most interested in. I think there's something for everybody. We had the chicken fajita omelette, the veggie omelette and a side order of the blueberry pancakes. The blueberry pancakes had blueberries in the pancakes and were topped with blueberries. My wife and I went there at 11:30 today (Saturday) - The place was slightly empty, so we sat right away. We waited for more than 15 minutes, still, no service, no coffee, no waitress, nothing. But I did see 6 people standing around, laughing and playing on their phone in the front cashier area, all the time I was there. The sad part is, we frequent this IHOP almost every weekend, and the food and service is usually very good. THERE'S NO EXCUSE FOR THIS - IT'S DISRESPECTFUL. I got dirty looks from the same waitresses that were standing there laughing while we walked out. I thought this was a good IHOP when we first started going there, but I was wrong. Upon arrival, store was very clean and all the staff were very nice Our server was Bryant and he did an excellent job and was super attentive! We had an omelette with tomatoes, avocado and hash browns which came with a side of pancakes and an egg, bacon biscuit sandwich with hash browns and coffee. Everything exceeded our expectations and the coffee was solid. The staff were exceptionally kind, friendly and helpful. Had a pleasant experience at this Avenue U location of IHOP. Brought my mom for brunch on Memorial Day. It was crowded but we were seated right away. We were able to place our order within 5 minutes of being there, which was a plus! My mom ordered the 2x2x2 (2 pancakes, 2 pieces of turkey bacon, and 2 eggs). I had the Mexican Dulce de leche pancake stack (4) with a side of 2 scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese. Our hot chocolates were delicious. They came with whipped cream and chocolate chips on top--a nice little dessert within a dessert-like beverage. Our food came out hot and fresh. I wanted my eggs well done and they were kinda wet to me so I asked the waitress to take it back so it could be cooked a little longer until brown. She did it without any issues and it came back out much closer to how I'd wanted it. I think it was that was because of the cheese that was cooked in it as well as the fact that the eggs aren't freshly cracked eggs. I believe they use a premade egg mixture, which I'm not the biggest fan of, but when in Rome, right? Anyhow, we had a really nice experience there overall! The place was clean, the staff was friendly and attentive, plus they had the Mother's Day sign still hanging up so my mom was able to have a little photo shoot on our way out, lol. After hearing about the new location, I was pretty excited to have another brunch spot closer to me. Unfortunately, food-wise, I did not have the best experience here. I came on a Sunday afternoon to a relatively busy restaurant. I was worried the wait would be a while (saw about 10 people by the doors waiting for a table), but it ended up only taking around 10-15 minutes so it wasn't bad at all. Fresh Berry Salad: A decent salad with strawberries, blueberries and our choice of grilled chicken. Nothing special to write home about but also not bad. Crispy chicken sandwich: Ayo this one came out raw LOL. If we had never cut this sandwich to split this between two people, we would have never known. Informed the staff who immediately replaced the dish and apologized about the matter. The replacement dish that came after was alright. The batter on the chicken sandwich was sub-par, and although it was certainly crispy and properly cooked this time, it was pretty dry. An average sandwich. Eggs Benedict: This one was honestly sad. Where they had undercooked the other dish, they had overcooked this one. The highlight of this dish in my opinion is usually the poached eggs, but yo girl was given two hard-boiled eggs instead. I was disappointed. Fresh Strawberry Cheesecake Tacos: Okay, I really loved these! Very fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness. The portion is just great for when you're craving pancakes but not willing to commit to the whole actual plate. It's also a relatively good size and having 3 for $6 was a decent deal. Crispy shrimp appetizer: This was surprisingly good! Shrimp was juicy and the batter for this was crispy and well seasoned. Came with a nice cocktail sauce that was tangy (and a bit like ranch) which was a nice addition. We ate this up in minutes. Overall, it seems like their staples (pancakes/waffles/regular breakfast samples) continue to be what they're known for. I'd probably come back for those. Anything else savory - I'd skip. There is plenty of parking in the back, access from Haring St. Employees are really polite and the service was great. Place is kept clean. The food was good and came out pretty quickly. I am definitively going there again, great addition to the community. Coney Island (park is a night mare) and Flatlands location are always crowded. They had a $7.99 breakfast special and it was two eggs & two strips of bacon, and both were small portions and tasted awful; it is really hard to mess up grilling eggs & bacon but somehow my plate looked like jail food. The staff is young, mostly teenagers busy on their cellphones. For a new restaurant, this IHOP is already showing its age. My breakfast sampler was lukewarm, but the pancakes were hot. So I didn't eat much :( The chicken biscuit was lukewarm too. The tres leche was a hit as was the chicken & waffles and Mom's shrimp. This place opened up not too long ago so it's pretty new but compared to its sister store located on Coney Island, it is a huge disappointment. We ordered six dishes and half of them were wrong orders. There was a breakfast platter that we ordered when we were missing an item. We were given the wrong sauces, food was poorly cooked, and some items had an extra charge, but was not explained. The food took a while to be served as well. I'm not sure if it is because they lacked the staff. I absolutely do not recommend the T-bone steak. It is very rubbery and it looks like a unseasoned and dry pork chop. This Ave U/ Nostrand is a new opening. All brand new, clean and spacious. We (2 people) went there around 2 pm yesterday, not crowded. However, The girl bought us to a dead end small corner table near the bathroom, it's the worst seating in the entire restaurant, we don't understand why as there are plenty of better empty tables. Thus we asked for another booth and it's a very bad experience for new customers. There are no napkins and utensils on the table. Also , we ordered a steak but it came out with a knife and no fork, that's another bad experience. The place is beautiful. The parking in the rear is a definite bonus... where in Brooklyn can you have a delicious meal, pleasant and helpful staff plus parking. The service was excellent. I have to give a special thank you to the manager and the waitress who waited and served my daughter with disabilities. She's just starting to venture into the world and didn't understand that you can't order if you can't afford the whole bill. My daughter ordered and ate and when it came time to pay the bill she only had a portion of the amount. Well, the manager and the waitress were so kind and let her pay what she had. I'm not sure if the staff knew she was a person with a disability but either way I am so grateful how they treated my daughter and didn't make her feel scared. Amazing... The girl said 930-945PM we then asked so if we get there BY 9:45 PM TONIGHT we will be served and she said yes and to come so we left and got there at 9:34pm (since we live on Ave V ) . The lights were 75% off the chairs up and the floors mopped not a good sign BUT its well before 945pm so we are fine - right? WRONG . The door was locked and we were banging on it and calling the phone because we saw staff inside FINALLY a lady came to door and said you guessed it " Sorry we closed " We had no customers so we closed - and you know I near lost it - I said WE JUST CALLED !!!!!! 15 minutes ago and the girl said to come WHY?????
