Waitress was nice and did her best to accommodate under the circumstances we were dealing with, but that about the best I have to say about this IHOP. We got our food and both my son and I both had hair in our food! It was cooked into the bacon as well as my 3 year old's pancake. Can you imagine watching your kid eat and you help to cut a piece of pancake and a long black hair is connecting the pancake on the fork to the rest of the pancake on the plate?!? Disgusting! When it was time to pay, the manager was only willing to take off $0.89 for the bacon and gave my waitress a hard time about the "Kids eat free 4-10" policy they have going on. And we didn't even eat our food! My husband warned me about this place due to prior issues he had in the past with this IHOP. Never again. This location has sadly gone downhill since opening in cleanliness and service. The food is the typically good IHOP offering. We were seated in the back room this morning despite only a half-full main dining area. The back room is a bit more enclosed and has a strange stale odor. My glass was completely empty for close to 11 minutes siting near the edge of the table without as much as an offering to refill until our waitress brought the check to our table. Im not sure why the service was slow as we were leaving we had to navigate through a virtual obstacle course of 7 waitstaff, 4 hostesses, and 2 more people who looked to be employees that were not yet on duty all congregating and socializing near the doorway area. I am usually a generous tipper for good service but this morning I only tipped 11% to reflect my dissatisfaction with my experience. read more

My husband and I often avoid the dinner hours at IHOP mostly because the service is frequently disappointing and not what we have come to expect from the service we receive during the breakfast and lunch hours. Our favorite servers, such as Mari and Chris, are never around during the evening hours it seems. This evening our server was Danielle; however, you wouldn't know her name unless you inquired because her name tag was blank and she certainly didn't want to extend the courtesy or spend the time to offer it. She was rude, abrupt, and appeared as if she couldn't wait to be done with us. Initially, I assumed this was just her natural demeanor, until I witnessed her interacting with an adjacent table of seniors, laughing and carrying on in a very positive manner. The other wait staff members were, for the most part, helpful and carried a positive attitude toward us. I spoke with Brandon the manager about my concerns regarding Danielle and he put on a nice facade that he cared about what I was saying, but ultimately appeared very distracted and continuously interrupted me with other customers' needs. Very disappointed. I order IHOP fairly regularly and usually something small is incorrect but not a huge deal. However the past few orders have been pretty bad. Just went in for a light dinner. No one in the restaurant Took 10 min for someone to wait on us. We ordered the special, all you can eat pancake ( more to come on that) ordered 2 cups of coffee @ $2.49 each. Waitress disappears for over 15 min. We wave another waitress down and SHE comes back saying they are brewing fresh coffee - it would have been nice to know that . 20 min later we get coffee in their new carafe which hold 3 cups of coffee 30 min later after no one has checked on our table the waitress comes back to see if we needed anything. Had a 25 minute wait, and as i went to walk back to my car i could hear employees through a fence like area where the probably take out the trash talking smack about customers. For somewhere with a 25 minute wait why are 4+ employees outside on a smoke break talking crap??? There's plenty empty tables that people could be seated at. A couple in front of me told the hostess this & she said we are seating based on servers. Funny because 4 servers are outside. I overheard a woman say " i tried to set up all my tables so they wouldn't ask me for a fu**ing thing & this mf gonna ask me... " at that point i was too far away to continue listening. We waited 45 minutes to get a table. There weren't more than 10 parties in the waiting room ahead of us. When we got in the dining room most of the tables were empty. The waiter told us when we were being seated that the kitchen was very busy and it would take a long time to get out of order. They did not give us printed menus. Instead we had to look at our iPhones to see menus. Neither of us ordered anything unusual but it took 40 minutes for our food to come out from the kitchen. There was a family that came in while we were still in the waiting room that was seated at one of the empty tables near us 35 minutes after we were seated. They were seated at a table that had been empty the whole time. Once we got our food the waiter did not come back to check on us to refill our drinks. We didn't see him again until it was time to give us our bill. We paid with cash but did not yet change. read more

This is a great location, and we frequent it often. If we've ever had a problem or complaint about our food, they've fixed it immediately and usually on the house. Very clean, very quick to get you sat, even if there is a wait. We always ask for June! She is a fantastic server who is very attentive, and friendly. I had the best service this morning, and the food was nothing to shake a stick at! My boyfriend and I decided to split an omelet because they are so big, and with the promotion, it was very cost effective, too! Not only was the food prepared quickly, it tasted amazing. My boyfriend has some pretty strict dietary restrictions, so when we ordered, we explained that we would be splitting the omelet and that I would be having the pancakes. The waiter, Micah, asked if my boyfriend had a dietary restriction, and when he explained that he could not have carbs, he (Micah) offered to ask the kitchen to prepare the omelet with fresh shelled eggs instead of the pre-mixed batter, which is made with pancake batter. Not only did Micah bring out the omelet already split onto two different plates, he was very nice and professional. The omelet and pancakes were spectacular! I have had some mediocre experiences in chain restaurants before, but this one was one of the best. The next time I have a craving for pancakes, I'll definitely be back! read more

I honestly hate leaving reviews, but feel like this one definitely needs to be said. I came to this establishment on 12/27 after Christmas weekend. walking it they were some what busy, after 12 it died down. but the hostess did a good job communicating with everyone,giving valid legit waiting times. Me and my two kids didn't wait that long. However shortly after waiting 10-15mins we were seated and this is where our issues arrived. Out server named Jose took a min to greet us but was sweet in the beginning. After taking our 3 drinks and my kids food and my side order of hash browns. We were waiting a while for two kids meals and my small side of hash browns and when I noticed that people who sat after us and ordered after us food had arrived I had to find our server and ask him to check on our food being that my 4 and 5 year Olds were hungry. He finally goes and checks I even give him my main order of food and shortly I got the turkey avo melt with onions added. Surprisingly after getting my sandwich there was barley 2oz of turkey on there but but they forgot avocado and the onions I paid extra for, jose ran back to get my avocado and took my onions off my tab. Overall food was about 5/10 didn't like how my food was incomplete and I blame the kitchen/expo person for allowing my food to leave uncompleted and skimpy on protein. My MAJOR ISSUE is my server swiping my card for 84!! When it was only 30 he never mentioned to me that he accidentally swipped my card and didn't provide a receipt of a refund or cancel charge. A few hours later (roughly 2 1/2) I called to the store because I checked me bank account and noticed the transaction And to be honest I was a 100% nice to the hostess or the server who 1st answered the phone and I was respectful when I 1st spoke to David I did not catch an attitude until the manager David gave me a very nonchalant not giving a fuck attitude and then tried to call me a liar because he claims a server told me something went clearly the server did not. And when I was looking for more of a clear solution and all I got was straight attitude that's when clearly I'm going to snap then he passes the phone off to another manager named Ashley who was even more rude and instead of her trying to de-escalate the situation she not only escalated but then she tried to match energy that she could not match at the end of the day all they had to do was give a genuine sincere apology and explain to me their protocols and then Insured me with some type of email communication or even possibly a phone call follow up just to make sure that this charge doesn't go through and if it does these will be the steps that they take. instead they try to get buck over the phone and match energy that honestly if I was there in person they could not match. And proceeded to be rude in all honesty I am upset with Jose the fact that he didn't have a common decency to tell me he made a mistake but I'm more upset with the fact that 2 managers did not de-escalate a situation professionally or appropriately when somebody's hard earned money was taken from their account and instead they call a customer a liar a customer that also has a receipt and gave them all information they needed to pull up this proper transaction with no issues. that is my issue with this location and the fact that honestly they can even serve food out correctly. It was busy but it wasn't that busy and as a chef this is a service that is normal on a typical Monday after a holidays the restaurant was not full to The point where little mistakes that were missed today could have been caught. and the fact that a manager did not feel the need to come stop by my table to make sure I was notified of a charge that I did not authorize on my account is beyond me as far as their ethics and human decency go at this location. read more

Friends, the story I tell you today is one of tragedy, betrayal, and waste. It is one of a dream gone awry, and of innocents made to pay for the death of that dream. But it is during the blackest of nights that stars shine the brightest; it is embedded in the darkest coal that we find diamonds in the rough. The IHOP on Kildaire Road is one of those diamonds; it is one such star. Before we delve into our tale, I will give you the TL;DR. I screwed up massivley; they were fantastic about the whole thing; they get five stars for incredible customer service. For those with the gall to to take a look, we shall begin. I am a leader for a club at my high school. There have been some tough times on the team recently, and the community has become a bit disconnected from itself, as tends to happens with large organizations. Anyone with experience knows that the best glue for these kind of fractures is pancakes. So, hoping to cement our team with sugary goodness, I sent out a survey to our seventy-ish members asking if they'd be interested in hitting up IHOP for dinner in early April. About thirty people said they wanted to go, so we were off to a great start. Excited, I call up the IHOP. I know that thirty people arriving at once to a breakfast oriented restaurant at night tends to disrupt the natural flow of eggs and bacon, so I let them know that we'll be expecting between twenty and thirty people for that night. The woman on the phone is very nice and courteous and gets us scheduled right away. Pleased with myself, I send a reminder to the team and move on. A few days before the night in question I send out another reminder email to the team. This time only seven or eight people respond in affirmation, but in my nervous optimism I chalk it up to people not seeing an email sent close to a weekend. I email a reminder to a few people who had said yes earlier, but largely put my apprehensions aside. You can see where I'm going with this, right? Day comes, the other leader and I arrive, and there are two other people from our club waiting. Fuck. We wait a bit longer, and only three more people show up. The entire time the waiters are pretty incredulous. We keep offering to order, but they keep politely asking to wait till the other guests arrive. Despite their surprise at the abysmal quality of our planning they are extremely nice and funny. I honestly think they realized how shitty we felt about it and were being extra nice on purpose. They certainly made me feel better regardless. After some wrangling on the phone, we got eleven people there total; a far cry from the twenty to thirty I had told them to expect. We eventually order, the waiters as nice and funny as they had ever been. The food comes extremely quickly (probably because they over-stocked the kitchen in preparation for our depressing dinner party) and we set in. I had the tres-leches pancakes. Good shit. I tried all four of IHOP's syrups on them, but decided I liked the sauce that came with the pancakes the best. I also got a side of hash browns. Good shit. I like the classic syrup drizzled on top of them, but I expect to be evicted from the forums of the internet for that opinion. At some point through the meal, a woman who I think was the manager started clearing the place mats and glasses set out at the tables that were never filled. I could tell she was unhappy, but she wasn't doing it to make us uncomfortable. In fact, never once through ought the entire experience did anyone try to make us feel bad or reprimand us. She was just a hard working person who had been put in a bad position due to some kids. If you're reading this now: I apologize. Just in case she doesn't have the hours required to read this never ending post, I left a note on a napkin apologizing in much the same fashion. I also got everyone to tip + order an obscene amount to try to make up for losses (and paid them back later if they wanted). That doesn't relate to the IHOP, more to me not wanting y'all to detest me. God, how important are these white walls behind which silent faces judge! Speaking of my reputation as a Yelper, some of you might be wondering if my goal with this post is vindication or an attempt at paying back the location. I'll be honest with you, oh silent faces: it kind of is. However, that is not to say that their five stars are not deserved. I've written such a long post because a) for some sick reason I enjoy it (check out my post about the Dollar Tree on Glenwood Avenue for more) and b) I wanted to explain the context which makes this restaurant especially deserving of praise and attention. What makes this place stand out is how great the servers are; honestly, the food is just a plus (though a big one, I might add). If you're looking for a yummy night out and some good times, I'd recommend you give it a try. read more

I would give this place a 3 out of 5 because it is decent. The customer service is good, but when we were there they mostly had alot of things not available due to popularity which was disappointing but either way, the food was good but still bit basic. Reconsider if you have a large group. 32 teens plus youth leader arrived at 6PM on a Sunday, with prior notice to management. They got 1 server, and started receiving meals after 7PM. My sons' dinners consisted of 1 plate of the all-you-can-eat stack each, getting home at 8:20PM. Horrible. read more

I have become a weekday regular at this location as it is close to home. I find myself ordering the weekday manager's special most of the time. They let you substitute items for most anything you want for just $5.49. This special comes with: two eggs any way you like them, two hickory-smoked bacon strips or two savory pork sausage links or ham, hash browns or grits or red potatoes and toast or pancakes and other choices. The down side is I find inconsistent food and service depending on who is working that day. The servers go through a lengthily training program but some tend to cut corners. Some of the things they are trained to do is: pick up any extra flatware on the table, remove any paper trash like straw wrappers and flatware rings, Any requested condiments are to be delivered before your food arrives to the table, so your food doesn't get cold making return trips, while the server refills drinks for another table. Same for the cooks, You can request your food cooked anyway you want, but often it will come out different. They will replace your food order. Myself, I like my bacon very crispy. I order my bacon burnt, as they only have a Crispy order button, that the server can push multiple times. My regular servers send my bacon back before I ever see it. I have started to cut the servers TIP back a dollar when they cut corners on there training. I have been well trained on how to place my order to get what I request. Many of the better servers are often requested by name for being friendly and giving great service. This upset some servers that receive less TIPS. read more

Always get excellent service here. Evelyn deserves 5 stars for her service alone! As a restaurant, you have to know how to move and serve quickly during breakfast and lunch hour. They seem to have it down to a science with positive personalities and individuals who have the skill and right attitude. One specific example was the act of kindness with no less than three servers checking on and talking with a senior who was eating alone. The IHOP in Cary is good. The menu mainly consists of breakfast choices, but they are prepared well. There are also sandwiches and entree's that are good. The main attraction for IHOP is that the service is very good and they have private rooms that are good for seating groups. They also don't mind giving individual checks even if there are a large number in your party. The management tries hard to please and is very accommodating. I meet with a group for brunch/lunch on a regular basis and everyone in our group likes IHOP because the food quality is consistent and they like the private room. read more

I just came home from this IHOP, having had breakfast. I am giving it 2 stars. A bit of a backstory: My elderly Father and I had this "thing" that we'd have Sunday breakfast and we typically did it at IHOP. One weekend it was the Beaver Creek location in Apex, the next weekend it would be this one, at Kildaire. We would rotate the locations, in that I live between them both and he lived in the county next over. He passed away last May after a 2 month ordeal in a local hospital... I hadn't been to either location for breakfast since the last he and I visited because while in the hospital, I kept telling him that we were due another Sunday visit to IHOP as soon as he got better. He didn't get better. So, I had been wanting to do "breakfast" at IHOP for a while but kept getting "choked up". However, this morning I decided to go for it and return. I got in at 8:48am.. a single person... got put in "no man's land" apparently because it was 8:55am when someone finally approached me. His name was "Link" and he asked had I been helped? which I said no and I said "I must be in the dead zone here". He took my order and took my drink order.. at 8:58am because that's when I both texted my daughter AND the receipt showed it keyed in. I had been there 10 minutes, at that point. That is not where my journey, ended... At 9:20, I finally flagged down the manager on duty and told her I had not received my meal.. Link was kind enough to address me after nearly 8 minutes of literally no one but all saw me... and that at some point I was handed my ticket by a "host" in a red shirt. Yes, I was handed my ticket BEFORE I ever got my actual meal and when asked, by the red-shirted dude if "this is your ticket?" I responded "well, I don't know. I've never gotten my meal yet." and he scurried off back to the host stand. All of this I did tell the manager at 9:20am when I flagged her down. She went into the kitchen and 4 minutes later, she came bringing me out my meal. The pancakes were soggy, the hash browns cold, the eggs rubbery. My plate had been sitting somewhere to the side because NO ONE apparently was assigned to my table... She, the manager, only excused it as "the kitchen got backed up but I stood there waiting so that I could bring you your meal as soon as it was ready." Nice.. except she lied. I saw her going in and out of the kitchen between her taking my complaint and her bringing me my meal. "Link" sheepishly came around and while I was eating my soggy pancakes - then asked if I wanted a box to take them home? Okay.. I just got them... I said "No, I am going to eat them here because I was hungry when I got here."... I did pay the ticket, in the end. The only person it would've hurt was the server and yes, I may be a chump... but it will be a much longer time before I return. The service and the food was just wrong. read more

Have had great service here before, but our most recent visit was very disappointing. Ordered chicken strips and fries with honey mustard sauce and received no sauce. Ordered monster mozzarella sticks and only received four instead of five as it's described. Ordered pancakes and received no butter or syrup. Since our order was done online and we picked it up to bring home we weren't able to get the items fixed. Just a very disappointing experience overall. read more

Personally I am a huge IHOP fan, and my boyfriend is down from Canada and has never tried it before so I figured a nice Valentine's Day breakfast would be the perfect opportunity to introduce him to the wonderful world of IHOP! I was aware that it was going to be very busy due to it being Valentine's Day so we went it expecting for service to be a little slower than usual. Unfortunately our food took about 45 minutes to arrive (we watched table after table that came in after us come and go), and my boyfriends steak was severely undercooked. (He asked for it medium and received it blue..) After that he asked our waitress what was going on, and she genuinely apologized and assured us she will get a new steak right away. Not only did he receive a new steak perfectly cooked and delivered by the chef himself but the owner came over, apologized and informed us that he had taken care of our entire bill! Never in my life have I encountered such remarkable customer service, and I will definitely be returning to this location. It's okay for restaurants to get backed up, but taking control of the situation and making it right is what counts! read more

I've been here once before and it was great. This time not so much. One, we were placed at a dirty table. Two, after I got my drink I realized that there was a piece of food in it so I asked for another sweet tea got unsweetened instead. Three, my date was out of drink for 20 minutes and he never got a refill. Then after we were done eating it took 15 minutes to receive our check, and another 10 to receive change. I'd like to ask that you all bare with me as a forge this review, it will be difficult for me to designate words accessible to me in the english language to denote to you all how absolutely horrific my experience was at this shite-box of a restaurant. I came into the restaurant with a large group of my mates from a chorus concert we had that night and of course I was sporting my grandiose attire. In order to make my stay as short as possible I went to a separate table with several others thinking we would be served faster than the rest of our group. Whelp I was wrong, tragically wrong. I actually developed a stomach ulcer from malnutrition in the amount of time it took this woman to take the simple drink orders from our party. When she finally came to our table I lifted up my decrepit and malnourished head and mustered up the strength to say "water would be nice". Little did I know I might as well of asked her to fly to Sweden and tap into a fresh water spring and bring me a glass back because it was a similar time frame either way. Then after being refreshed by the water I was able to order a hot chocolate and chicken and waffles. Now I can look over the fact that my hot chocolate had a brown turd like substance at the bottom of it but I cannot look past the quality of chicken I was served. This chicken made tyson nuggets taste like a Gordon Ramsey signature steak. They were so bad You could of actually taken the silicon from Kim kardashian's implants, breaded and fried them up, and ended with a similar product to that which I was served. Friends please avoid this ihop, 2/10 would not eat again. read more

I am really perplexed about a restaurant, specifically IHOP, that caters to a breakfast crowd, and cannot cook eggs correctly. No matter how you order your eggs, they will come out different than what you ordered. I tend to order over medium eggs, the kitchen will either over or, grossly undercook the order. Send them back for a different variation upon return. Two attempts is my limit. Talking to a manager does not work either. Tonight I was by myself, ordered the T-Bone with 3 Eggs and side of spinach. The 2 eggs, they sent out were fried over hard and very crispy around the edges. They recooked the eggs, this time they (all 3) were under cooked, when I cut into the whites, a runny, gelatinous, slime ran across my plate. Disappointing, to say the least. One additional issue, it took an hour and a half for the comedy to play out. read more

As far as iHop goes, this one, located off of Kildaire Farm Rd in Cary is topnotch. I had to go with 4 stars though, when comparing to other breakfasts in the area. This is our go to IHOP. Most of the time the service is really great. Sunday there was a different hostess and she seemed overwhelmed, It wasn't crowded at all so maybe it was her first try at this. This IHOP has a great manager, but he didn't seem to be there that day which prob make a big difference. One of the cleanest iHops in the triangle! The service is always excellent and are eager to please. Our family typically orders the same subset of items and the cooking is always consistent. The wait time on the weekend mornings are reasonable and they are always filled to capacity during the brunch hours which just shows that a lot of them are regulars or returning customers like me :) A huge shout out to the wait staff as well!! read more
