Sitting in the parking lot with plenty of time I call my 1 order in at 9:56am,was told about 10 to 15 minutes. So I go in pay for said food with the always lovely guy at the register Mateo & he goes to check on food. Now flash forward to 10:29am...still no food. Now I'm still hungry & gonna be late for work. Idk what is going on over there. Also if one ever has to call to place a to go order never let them put you on hold...they left me there 3 times over the last year or so. Typical IHOP quality. Star rating based on IHOP quality and not other restaurants. You aren't going to get the top knotch wait staff that you would in a higher class restaurant. If you're looking for better quality than McDonald's or Waffle House then this is your place but it won't come close to a boutique establishment. The tables were generally clean, the fries were burnt, the eggs benedict we're overcooked and the hollandaise sauce was bland. The bathrooms are generally clean. We're usually seated right away and although not always properly trained are at least friendly. The prices have risen and in my opinion higher based on quality than other better diners. read more

Have you been to IHOP? I don't know what's inside until Hubby introduced me to the place. They have food, ok good news! I used to imagine IHOP is the place if you want to eat big but we went to Harold's recently and I don't think any food place serves bigger dish than that one. This is why I never listened to anyone until I experiment it myself. These days even a chain restaurant feels the need to catch-up with some great restaurants and believe it or not, they got it. So IHOP is more like a family dining breakfast restaurant. You want to bring your family here. I ordered sunnyside up eggs with pancake and Hubby got over easy with French toast. Both with bacon and the bread was marble rye bread. Was that cool or what? I thought the French toast was pretty good. I'm not sure how IHOP is in NY or other cities and towns because I never went to any, but in this town it's big, located at a great location with enough parking space for everybody and clean inside and outside. Our server, Sam, was attentive and did a great job. We were greeted by many staff members. We had to take French toast and pancake to go. Couldn't eat all that but glad we had nice good breakfast. Came here for breakfast yesterday, we got seated right away and we all ended up ordering the breakfast sampler. Our food took a good chunk of time to come out and the place was pretty full (by the time we left the lunch rush had started)... it wasn't the best tasting sampler I've had at an IHOP but it was fine. I did find it odd that right after our waitress took our order she was asking if we needed ketchup or anything, like... ask me when the food is in front of me at least. We visited this location yesterday morning and was attended by a very arrogant server . He was very rude interrupting our ordering and overall very dismissive while taking care of our table. When he brought the drinks he literally slammed all of them on the table and threw the straws up in the air as faster way to distribute them I'm guessing. Honestly neither me nor my family felt welcomed at that establishment. It was clear that he did not want to serve us and was trying to rush things up. Was here on vacation and this is the cleanest restaurant in the area. We got excellent service from our waitress Wendy, she's the nicest sweetest person in the place. Other staff was very friendly and the had great social distancing and everyone had a mask on. Food was really good and Wendy explained a discount they had going on and saved us money on our meal. This IHOP is our go to place for brunch. The hostess and servers are always polite and professional. The cooks prepare eggs exactly the way they are ordered. I am talking sunny- side up over easy (the way I like them) or sunny-side up over medium (the way my husband likes them) , they are perfect every time! My son just loves the strawberry cheesecake pancakes. The bacon can be specified as crispy or chewy. We have been coming here for years and this place never disappoints. read more

Ok so I have never done a yelp review before but I'm hoping that if I make one maybe this damn place will make some changes....I started ordering food from here though door dash like 3 weeks ago and I have ordered a hand full of times and the only time my food was ever prepared the right way and was even any good was the first time since then every order has been messed up....I always order the same thing strawberry and cream crepes hashbrowns and sausage links and every single time either there is absolutely none of the vanilla cream with the crepes or there isn't any whipped cream or there isn't either...this time i had to call in there to make sure they put the freaking whipped cream and vanilla cream in with the crepes and they did that but my food was alarming cold and the crepes were almost fucking burnt like how the hell do you over cook a damn crepe they are so easy to freaking make!!! I never wanted to be that person who says "I spend a good bit of money here" but I do I have been ordering like at least once to twice a week for the last three-four weeks so I have spent a good bit and every single time something is screwed up just about every single time my food is also freaking cold ugh I hate freaking complaining about stuff like this but I'm hoping maybe they will step up their doordash service because this is a bit ridiculous! I would expect that yea once in awhile sone thing small would be messed up with the order because obviously things happen by accident but every single time I order the food is fucked up every single time and it sucks:( I keep ordering in hopes that maybe this time something won't be fucked up but yet every single time something is screwed up every single damn time!!! We ordered take out using online ordering on their website. We ordered a Jr. cupcake combo, pancake combo, and steak tips breakfast. As soon as we pulled in the parking lot, they walked out with our order. The order was perfect and the food was still hot and tasted fresh, even after our 15 minute drive home. They also have the coolest takeout containers that separate the pancakes from the eggs, hash browns, etc. so that your food doesn't get soggy. This was, by far, the best take out breakfast we have had since the stay at home order was put in place. I would highly recommend this IHOP for take out breakfast. read more

Food services is still slow an the cooks could use a refresher course on the meaning of crispy bacon.--Also before you bring the check you may want to make sure we are truly done. I have to say, this IHOP was not bad.. My grandparents live near Charles Town, WV, and the dining options are very, very limited (except now I've heard of the restaurant Dish, and am incredibly excited to have a real, non-chain, non-Chinese, non-sub/pizza option the next time we eat up there). Our choices that day were between Applebees and IHOP. We went into Applebees first, thinking it was the lesser of two evils, and were told it would be a 20 minute wait. Not usually an issue, except there were no more than 10 tables with people at them, and apparently only 1 waiter on staff. Sooo off to IHOP. We had to wait about 5 minutes while they cleaned off a table for the 6 of us. Our server was new and a bit slow, but still fine. The food was surprisingly decent. I've probably only gone to IHOP about 5 times in my life and from those experiences, I really wasn't expecting much. I ended up getting the ham and cheese omelette. And because I clearly don't care if I die from a heart attack or not, I had some pancakes, hashbrowns, and toast as well. While the pancakes were pretty blah, the omelette was really, really good. The boyfriend was happy they had scrapple, but wasn't expecting much as he thinks the scrapple in Philly is superior to all other scrapple (I don't know why, I mean, really, we're talking about a cornucopia of mashed up, discarded meat). And, he said the scrapple turned out to be really good. It was incredibly cheap. I think it ended up being less than $70 for 6 people, including tip for a shitload of food. The staff at this iHop location is amazing!! Their energy is contagious! I love it!! They smile, they look you in the eyes, and their eyes are happy! They go above and beyond at this location! Our waiter, Josh, was the best!! He provided excellent service in every way! I loved his energy, and attitude! However, maybe the hiring manager should not eye other girls boyfriends up and down. I don't know what it is or why, but this place CANNOT get it together when it comes to dinner hours!! The place wasn't particularly busy; maybe ten tables full? We sat for OVER AN HOUR and never got served. We literally were chatting with several other tables suffering the same fate, and the worst part was seeking parties of two being served (coming in well after the larger parties), but NO ONE ELSE was getting anything! If there is an unforeseen circumstance-by all means, be proactive and let your customers know- but no communication and everyone AVOIDED the tables as opposed to trying to interact and explain what was going on. After another table left (approximately 20 minutes without so much a drink order...) we decided to follow their lead after one hour, ten minutes without ANYTHING from the kitchen. If this was the first dinner issue I've had there- I'd see it as a "bad night," but the lack of empathy, communication, and abundance of inexperience from management to servers indicate they Save their experienced staff for weekend mornings. The manager appeared to be a young kid over his head (assuming he was manager as he tended to yet another angry table) and in reactionary mode. Not sure how a chain company can be so inept and unable to serve people. Total count while we watched: three tables left after excessive waiting times, one table complaining as we walked out, and another requesting check as we walked by. Complete lack of caring and they really need to evaluate their ability to run the lunch dinner times, and this is a CONSTANT problem for them! We actually noticed 30 MINUTES- and NO FOOD CAME OUT TO CUSTOMERS! What were they doing back there? And when a table doesn't have silverware and asks the host/server and the server looks perplexed and bothered by the request and WALKS AWAY AND IMMEDIATELY STARTS WIPING A TABLE in an apparent attempt to ignore the customer...that should have been an early tip off. Come on guys...you are really pissing potential customers off, and by making three parties of 6 or more people walk before being served-the servers lose money, too! When we hit "an hour ten minutes," and the server said "They are getting started on your food..." that was the nail in the coffin. Not good, IHOP. REALLY BAD AGAIN- avoid this place after the early mornings omelette & pancakes. Getting home after leaving and going somewhere else got us home about 9pm- FAR LATER THAN WE ANTICIPATED! Skip the hassle, excessive wait, and lack of empathy. Throw a dart at a map and you'll be better off. read more

If I could give it a negative star rating I would. Our service today was horrible. Our servers name was Nicole. She was gave us our food. Some was cold. She never came back to our table, didn't remove dishes. 3 of our drinks were empty before our food came, she brought 1 refill but ignored the other 2. She had 2 tables at the time our food was dropped off. At the end she dropped off our check as I was asking for to go boxes, and to go drinks she walked off before I was even done talking. I was beyond livid. She brought back boxes, literally dropped them, and took off. When we paid we let the manager know about our horrible service, in which he didn't seem to care. Had to wait 45 minutes for a table in the lobby...not a big deal, but 25 of those minutes were spent telling 3 different employees a child had puked all over the floor right in front of them. No one would clean it up. Finally someone put a wet floor sign down. When a kid finally came out with a mop bucket, he couldn't tell where the puke had been because so many people had walked through it. Server was nice. Kid cleaning up puke was nice. Hostesses were air heads. Food was mediocre. I'll take my business else where from now on. Update. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Both of my children became ill 36 hours later. We no longer go to the Charlestown WV IHOP since the staff spends more time horse playing amongst themselves. The horse play even included customer food delivery. Came to this IHOP excited, left utterly disappointed. After waiting over ten minutes to be seated, in a virtually empty restaurant, waitress rudely wanted to know my order the minute we sat down. Since we obviously weren't ready, we asked for a minute to look at the menu, she took that as 20 minutes. When she finally came back to take my order, she condescendingly told me they were out of ice cream, so i couldn't get the milkshake special and begrudgingly took the rest of my order, and then proceeded to wait another 30 minutes to put it the order to the kitchen. Despite how long i waited for my food, it came to me, freezing cold and completely not what i ordered. My extra crispy hash browns were mushy and the cinnamon stack pancakes were a facade, meaning they had the smallest about of icing possible placed on dry cakey pancakes. (See photos below...) Overall, one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences i've ever had, until the waitress was rude when i paid for the check, which made it THE most DISAPPOINTING dining experiences i've ever had. read more

I come a few times a month and they are generally good. The biggest most common mistake that has been made are my eggs being undercooked (I don't like runny yolks)... the majority of the waitstaff is fantastic and checks in frequently to make sure everything is going ok. read more
