Just got done eating here. I wont come back! Service is slow, waiter forgot what we ordered and overall food was BAD!

This place smells so horrible I think it actually permeates the food. The coffee is bitter, but the server really hustles his butt off. If there was another ihop close I would never come back here again. read more

Me and my girlfriend were extremely disappointed in this particular IHOP. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with an awkward smell and no hostess. After 45 minutes of waiting we finally received our food. Meanwhile, the people who order at the same time as us were finishing theirs. The items on our plates were incorrect both the first time and the second time they brought it out. That combined with our dirty silverware caused us to walk out of the restaurant. At one time IHOP was a good breakfast restaurant. Not today!!!! Cold/hard pancakes, cold eggs, crispy bacon---NOT, biscuits gooey in middle, runny gravy!!!!!! Sent all back! New breakfast came out and it was CRAP!!! Husband ate it-he'll eat anything!!! Waitress must be new cause she wasn't up to par either, brain dead maybe??? I would love to give no stars for the horrible service. Am a door dasher and on the instructions it says to park in curbside spot and call inside and someone will bring it out. When arriving at the restaurant, I called in to tell them I have arrived and they said they were waiting for the omelet to finish cooking. Waited 15 minutes and no one came out with the food. To add to this bad service, a worker came out to take care of another customer out front and didn't acknowledge me. This is after I already had spoken with her on the phone letting her know I had a door dash order and have arrived. Called back 15 minutes after the first phone call to see the update on the order and a male answered the phone that time and said it had been ready and that I had to come in. This is bad service considering the employees have two different understandings of how their service is offered, so they need better training. When already making my customers food cold and wasting my shift time, it sadly gets worse and I now understand why this establishment already has 2 stars. The man I talked to on the phone was mocking me on our phone call as I walked in to pick up my order. I simply explained to him that the girl was bringing it out. This is horrible service and degrades IHOP's business when you hire disrespectful workers like this. read more

This was my first time going to an iHop in a very long time and I regret not coming here sooner!! The service was excellent (I wish I could remember our waitress's name!). When my boyfriend spilled his drink on the table after we were almost done with our meal, the other staff noticed it and immediately said "It's no problem, why don't y'all just move to the table behind you and we'll bring you your food and everything else that was on your table." They were so nice, some of the best customer service I've seen in a longgg time! Our waitress even brought us brand new drinks free of charge!! The food was so good, I had the French toast grille and every bit of it was delicious!! My boyfriend had a melt and he absolutely loved it. I had such a hard time choosing what to eat because there were so many great options, and our waitress was so patient while I took several minutes to finally make a decision. I highly recommend going here as the food is delicious, the service is excellent, and it's just a fun atmosphere for any type of gathering. I will definitely be coming here more often!!! read more

Service was good, but the food,,,, terrible. If the cook had gone out back and gathered grass or straw and thrown it in the grill it would have tasted better than our hash browns. And,,, how do you make TOUGH hash browns? Also, the men's room stank though it looked like they had just mopped it, and the paper towel dispenser was broken so they had rolls of towels sitting on the wet sink. Bottom line is that IHOP, regardless of location has continued to sink so they are not on our list to visit ever again. In fact the only reason we were at this location today was to eat while our car was being inspected next door. Very sad. read more

This has to be the worst ihop restaurant ever! The food was not edible at all. I ordered a simply fit omlet with fruit. Sound pretty easy right? WRONG!!! My omlet was runny and I don't mean the yolks, my egg whites were runny like soup. Then to make matters worse, the gave me BROWN fruit! This place is lousy and a waste of time and money! read more

After ordering our meals we had to wait an 1 hr and half. And when we got our food my food alone was cold but pancakes were hot. I'm never going to this establishment ever again. There were other people that waited after us who not only got their food in but finished. Yet we still haven't got our food after the fact. Until I complained to manager about the wait in our food somehow the came up immediately. I told the manager that I understand they're busy and his response is this isn't even busy. But when we got there every seat was taken. I ordered a T-Bine steak medium rare with over medium eggs with pancakes. My boyfriend got the Split decision with Crepes. His hashbrowns were part lukewarm and cold. My steak and eggs were both cold. We were not even mean to the waitress but god dang no need for our food the come out shitty. However waitress offered to warm up my plate let alone manager compensated our food. I declined the warm plate since I don't want to wait any longer for it. read more

Food was good. Waitress was great. There was a hair in my pancake, the syrup dispensers were so clogged we couldn't get any syrup out, and the urinal had what looked like mold in it, there were pee stains around the bathroom as well. read more

I am never coming here again, and I usually like IHOP. After telling us they were out of the French toast that we came here to order, they let us put in an order for our second choice and wait half an hour before telling us they were out of that, too. We've now been waiting 45+ minutes with nothing but water. I had time to get angry, download an app on my phone, register for yelp, and write this review before our food came. Also, their food is subpar as IHOPs go. Never come here if you value your time. read more

This place has gone so far down hill. The ceiling is literally collapsing, the humidity can be cut with a knife. Mold & mildew growing everywhere, looks like a Petri dish 10 days into a science project. It's just gross! The salt shakers are solid because of the dampness in the air. Now the food, I asked for no onions on my omelet, spinach & mushroom. Well that didn't happen. The toast was dark and too buttery. The service was adequate, she was at the end of her shift and it showed. She showed obvious signs of frustration, heavy sighs and body language. Someone was cleaning the booth behind and kept slamming something into the divider directly behind me. I could hear the obnoxious rap music from the kitchen, swear words and all. The telephone ringer was really loud and set on some strange ring tone which took multiple servers to figure out how to change it. My family an i came in to eat dinner at the door we had to wait 25 mins till they had cleared a table for us when we were finally seated. It was 20 mins before we was asked what we wanted so i had asked to speak to the manager the waiter was nice about it but the manager was very rude read more

We waited 45 minutes for food that came out wrong (not what we ordered) and it was cold. Our server kept saying "your food will be right out" but it was at least another 20 minutes before we got it. We walked out after she seemed frustrated when we asked for new silverware (ours had food on it) and when we told her our food wasn't right. Everyone in there is just walking around not knowing what's going on, you can hear the cooks and servers cussing in the back, and the entire place smells so bad inside. The cleanliness inside of there is definitely lacking, as well as friendliness. Management was nowhere to be found, and when we told our server we were unhappy and we're just gunna leave, instead of trying to correct the situation or apologize, she said "have a nice day" and rolled her eyes. read more

We stopped in late last night, almost didn't because of the crappy reviews. It was very quiet as they had been closed for the 2 nights prior for some remodeling. They have a ways to go on that, it still needs a little work. That being said, the food was solid. We were able to make substitutions with no fuss. It arrived promptly and at the correct temperature. Drink refills were quickly done and the check was dropped off just as we were finishing up. Kristy was our server. She was professional and friendly, just the right amount of chit chat and check ins. I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again. Yes, the building is old, we've been driving past it for at least 25 years, but it was clean, bright and friendly. I placed a togo order that took 40 minutes for me to receive. At the 30 minute mark I got up and went to the counter, countless serves walked by me and didn't acknowledge I was standing there. Numerous guests came in and where waiting to be seated, they were being helped yet I still wasn't acknowledged as they walked around me. A group came in and they joined me for another 5 minutes waiting to be seated and no one came for them, they attempted to seat themselves. When I did finally get my food the waitress offered me a free drink for the 35 minutes I had been waiting. I obliged her and she went to go get my drink that took ANOTHER 10 minutes, she noticed I wasn't happy and yelled from the kitchen she is waiting for someone to go outside to get a togo cup for me, she had a attitude like she was the one waiting 40 minutes for an omelet. Another waitress had to come up and ask if I was ok, when I told her the situation she went to the back and got my drink. She came back with two kiddie kids meal cups (I guess that makes up for one togo cup). I left the cups right on the counter, I WILL NEVER SPEND MONEY IN THAT IHOP AGAIN. This used to be a nice place to come to. Came in for lunch for the first time in a couple of years and will not come back again. There was no A/C in the section that we sat in. It was broken. Wasn't bad at first but towards the end of the stay it was much worse. The food was ok and our waitress (Jersey) was nice. But the biggest turnoff was the bugs that started to fly around us as we sat there eating our food. It kept getting worse and worse. It wasn't until then I noticed actually the rest of the area that we were in was dirty. The cushion seat backs were missing in some of the booths, window sills had dead bugs, tables were dirty (I mean to the point that it looks like they didn't even use anything to clean it). A big disappointment. Waitress apologized but I'm thinking that the food we ate probably wasn't made within the sanitary guidelines by the looks of this place. Do not recommend this place to anyone. Oh, should I mention the bathroom (Urine) smell as you walk through the front door. That alone should have told me to go somewhere else but I guess I was giving them the benefit of the doubt. Waitress was nice. That is the only positive thing I have to say about this IHOP. When you walk in, you are overwhelmed with the scent of Fabreeze. It's only after you are taken to your table that this is to cover up the distinct smell of urine that my nose unfortunately never grew accustomed to. Food was mediocre at best, which is unsurprising for an IHOP. Menus were sticky. Front of restaurant was very untidy and claustrophobic. Not a great experience to say the least. read more

So my 9 year old nephew had to put his dog down this weekend. The only thing that would make him feel better was going to IHOP. Well to start it took 15 mins to even be greeted. Danielle was our waitress. If you ever go here avoid her at all costs. She was rude and condescending. After placing our order and waiting over 30 mins for our food, I started noticing other tables who sat after us eating already. By this time I'm pretty irritated. I asked what was going on and all I got was 'the kitchen went down' from another waitress. Danielle had been missing for 20 mins by this time and so I asked to speak to a manager. Danielle comes out and rudely asks what the problem was. I asked a 2nd time to speak to management. Management never once came to speak to me. After a total of one hour and 45 mins I took my nephew to a competitor. I have NEVER had service this bad. It was when I started telling everyone that I found out this is all too common at this particular IHOP. Poorly managed, I see why more and more people stop going here. I will never go back and will go out of my way to tell everyone I know not to go here. Once again management never even came out to talk to an unhappy PAYING patron. AVOID!!!! read more

Our experience tonight at the Taylor Rd Ihop in Chesapeake cannot even earn one star. Our waiter was very nice and polite, but beyond that, it was awful. There were 3 of us seated at the table, but the food came out one dish at a time. By the time the last person received their food, the other two of us were almost done eating. A family at the table next to us also had a very nice waiter, but after waiting almost an hour for their food, they received it ice cold. They informed the waiter they could not eat it because it was cold and said they were leaving. He apologize profusely, admitting there were problems in the kitchen and said he understood and was okay with their leaving. The cook, or manager, whatever he was...we never did really get the truth on this, actually ran after them as they left the restaurant and called the police on them. Once police arrived, he outright lied, saying the family had eaten their food and refused to pay and just walked out. Myself and one other person from my group stayed to offer what we had witnessed during the whole episode and made the cook/manager aware we had been seated next to them. He told outright lie after outright lie to the police, even stating that the general manager had refused to come out to talk to the family because she "didn't want to deal with them". Now it is highly doubtful one that he even talked to someone and two, that a manager of any position was even in attendance in the restaurant. My sister and I, when standing up for the other family, were told by the cook/manager that we could leave and not come back. Please don't waste your time or money on this Ihop...it will be a poor dining experience. read more
