The last 3 visits have been gross. I ordered 2 chocolate chip pancakes and an appetizer sampler for my son and I. The pancakes had like 8 (burnt) chocolate chips in the center only. Came in to pick up an order an hour before they closed. I believe she's the manager and she gave me a cup of sprite and told me the order shouldn't take long. Then I realized this is the same IHOP I came to a couple months back and the hostess was sweet as can be. She kept all the guests informed of their wait time. They move quickly and their food is honestly made with love. I could tell by looking at the atmosphere that everyone was enjoying time here with their family. read more

I placed an order online for curbside pickup and was surprised when i got to the restaurant to see there were no designated spots anywhere in the parking lot for curbside pickup. (Not sure why its offered if its not available.) But...not a huge deal, so i went inside to get my order and decided to add on a large drink at the front counter. I remember seeing online that they had this really great looking blueberry lemonade drink that comes with blueberries on top and it came in this 32oz clear cup, so i told the hostess that id like to try that (and i did say large) so i paid almost $4 and she was really nice but i dont think she knew how to make the drink. She comes back with this COFFEE cup (16oz) and not wanting to make a big deal, thinking it might taste good so ill just deal with the size difference and be on my way...i take a sip when i get back to work and it was absolutely disgusting. I look at it and it just looks like blue kool aid, (no blueberries on top) and tastes like blue kool aid with absolutely NO sugar. I am so disappointed, not even going to take the time to drive back up there. I pretty much paid $4 for a cup of blue water. Went for breakfast/dinner on Saturday with the family and when we arrived there were only six other diners in the establishment. First, the PROS: Our server was great and worked hard for us. Now the CONS: Upon taking our drink order, we were told they were out of any soda accept diet. My son ordered a shake, and after 10 minutes was told they were out of milk. So our server brought ice cream. So we ordered our food. Upon receiving it, we were told they were out of butter. All our food was cold, and the chicken fingers, my wife, and son ordered were overcooked on the outside but raw in the inside. Our hash browns were hard in the outside and underdone on the inside. And both the omelets were cold. Our server was even recruited to cook even though there were few people in the establishment. We've eaten here several times before and after the pandemic and when there was a waiting line and everything was spot on. My kids decided to take their Dad to IHOP for a Father's Day breakfast today. The wait for a table was about what they expected and when they were seated there was still plenty of time to eat before my daughter had to go to work. 15 minutes after being seated a server finally showed up to take their drink order. They ordered their food at the same time since they had had plenty of time to look at the menu. 45 minutes after placing the order the food had still not arrived. After waiting another 10 minutes my daughter had to go to work. She had NO FOOD. My husband and Son continued to wait. Almost 20 minutes later there was still NO FOOD. They had been at the table for almost 90 minutes. They got up and left. I realize restaurants are having a hard time getting back up to speed but if you are not prepared to properly take care of your guests don't be at full capacity. Waiting over an hour for food at a place like IHOP is ridiculous. They lost us as customers this morning, and lost us as customers going forward. We will NEVER try eating there again. read more

Complete disrespect! We had a curbside order with an arrival time off 11:22, I arrived at 11:29 called and checked in. At the time of my phone call I was informed that, my food was not ready and they will bring it out to me when it was ready. I sat in the parking lot for about 20 mins before calling back just to be told "oh your food has been ready." A young man brings my food out to me and it is COLD. When I ask him what happened, he tells me "they probably forgot about you man." I immediately call back inside and ask to speak to a manager. The young lady who answered the phone informs me the manager is busy and said to take a message. After asking for the managers name, Laura, and the corporate number (still have not received that), she takes the phone from the young lady and proceeds to argue with me that I have not been outside nor did I call to check in. After explaining that I have the call logs to show I've called and have been patiently waiting outside which I'm sure your cameras can see, she hangs up on me and storms outside. When Laura arrived to my car clearly mad, she immediately starts arguing with me that she knew I just pulled up and im trying to get free food but that's not going to happen, hand her back the food and she will remake it. After showing this very disrespectful manager my call log she continued to stick to the notion that she did not see my car there and she still feels like I just pulled up. I declined her offer to remake my food due to her very displeasing disposition, I did not trust that the ingredients from the original recipe would be the only ingredients in my food. I would like a member of upper management or corporate to reach out to me regarding this. I am also a store manager for my company and if I reacted to a paying customer the way that Laura did I would be fired. read more

This morning I ate at this location and was VERY DISAPPOINTED. It's been several months since I've been here but I will NOT come back and will tell others to not go to this location. The food was noticably not as good, the server never came back to refill our drinks and then there was an issue when the charge was processed. When the server brought the receipt for me to sign it was a different amount than the original bill. I questioned it and they found I was charged for the tea my friend had with her meal which brought it back to my original bill. BUT here's the kicker....they then found I should be up charged for part of my meal. My meal came with a variety of sides and I chose the pancakes and the server asked what type did I want. I asked what are my choices and I chose one of them. She NEVER SAID THERE WOULD BE AN UPCHARGE. The gentleman that came to the table was not nice at all. I just questioned why was I not told there would be an upcharge. The whole bill issue was very unpleasant and not handled professionally nor courteously. If you're going to eat here, make sure to be seated at one of Betty's tables. Betty is attentive, polite and always friendly, no matter how busy it is. She's the main reason why we go to this location. Her persona puts a smile on everyone's face. 5 stars for her. A younger gentleman (possibly the manager?), who seems to be waiting for the staff to make mistakes or take a little longer to take up orders, spreads a rather negative vibe by asking customers numerous questions, watching the staffs every single move and apparently scolding the staff for taking too long in front of customers. I don't appreciate this kind of behavior. Hence, one star deducted. The breakfast options are pretty good. The red potatoes are amazing. However, when we place takeout orders, there are usually some things mixed up or missing. That's why I recommend to check your order for completion while you're still there. Upon walking in there is a strong pissy, fetid odor. It's unreal that this is the first thing you take in going into a breakfast joint. Took an hour for our food to arrive and the servers temperament was on a scale of daffy and rude to downright racist. Pretty average breakfast for dinner experience. The restaurant wasn't particularly clean, the first table they tried to seat us at had a wet spot so we were moved to a different booth. Our server Jasmine was sweet & attentive. My pancakes were super sugary but yummy. The fruit cup wasn't very fresh although it did have a good mix of fruits. The hash browns and bacon weren't as crispy as I would've liked (I also asked for them to be very well done) but not terrible. The family decided to give the IHOb gimmick a gander. What a disaster. The place reeked like a wet rag. The flies had their own table behind us and the staff was more disheveled than a high schooler in detention on Saturday morning. The service was horrendous and the food although not hateful, was less than mediocre. There was no energy in the restaurant and evidently neither was a manager...there is no way that this is an acceptable way to run service. Please don't go here. The cafeteria at the hospital across the street probably does a better job...and they have a gift shop. read more

Came here after an early morning out and since I'm a stickler for coupons, sales and deals I dragged my husband here for the $4.99 breakfast special. I know what you're thinking how could the quality of food and service be good for such a small price, believe me I was skeptical but after seeing the special advertised for weeks I decided to try it and I wasn't disappointed. The dish came with pancakes, eggs, hash browns and two sausages or two pieces of bacon. I opted for the bacon and upgraded to NY cheesecake pancakes. We traveled from maryland to visit Virginia Beach for a few days. We came to this ihop as it eas down the road from our hotel. This ihop location was understaffed due to covid, to my understanding there was one cook. Our waitress was extremely sweet and polite. You could tell she loves serving people. Everything was calm and collected. There were a lot of people eating and enjoying their breakfast. Big thanks to the one chef holding down the restaurant and polite staff to make customers feel welcomed. read more

This place...oh my goodness. The IHOP brand is really suffering here. From the moldy ceiling tiles to the dripping condensation this location is in desperate need of a makeover. How do they get away with a/c condensation all over the tables and seats? I mean, why wouldn't the hostess have cleaned it up before seating us there? I feel bad for people that work the night shift. They get accused of being alcoholics because they get off work at 7am and that's technically their "happy hour" and all the good restaurants are usually closed. Thank God for joints that are open 24 hours. I ended up working really late and did not have one thing to eat at home. Arrived, waitress seated us, we asked to moved to a different table. Something smelled really bad at first table. Bathroom had two stalls, one had a sign saying out of order, the other had overflowed, Told the hostess, who was on her cell phone, she dais she knew and the restroom. What a horrendous experience ! We went wanting a different breakfast for a change to cheer us up on a rainy day, and just when i thought i could not get any more depressed, this Ihop found a way .. First our waitress was trying her best to make our breakfast a horrible experience. She would disappear for 5-10 mins every time we made a request. Then i asked for some milk for my coffee, then again, 10 mins later she comes back with a glass of milk. She comes back, again, 5 mins later, with a styrofoam cup lodged in her stained pocket and asks me to pull it out of her pocket and use it as a pouring device !!!! wow wow Then our food comes. My gf pancakes were the most miserable excuse of chocolate pancakes we have ever seen. There were two spots of chocolate in the entire pancake that really resembled the diapers of an old man, just a tiny smudge. It really was the most un-appetizing pancake i have ever seen. our coffee pot was empty at this time , i did not bother for a refill, since i would have had to wait another 20 mins for my request. Then the grand finale.... She comes with 10 packets of sugar and asks my gf to refill the sugar tray !! REALLLLYYYY ???? and to make matters worse, my gf was in the middle of eating !??? This Ihop location is one to stay away from. The service is slow and the food is absolutely awful! My over easy eggs weren't even remotely cooked and my moms over medium looked exactly the same. The scrambled eggs were super greasy and rubbery... What the hell is happening at this Ihop? Our server kept messing up our orders, brought us the wrong drinks, kept forgetting what kind of pancakes we ordered, then completely forgot to even bring mine. The food came out haphazardly and even though the lobby was full of people waiting for seats, the restaurant tables were not full at all. Came here on whim since I was craving breakfast for dinner. This was the place that was open since it was so late in town. We walked in and you get hit by the age of the place with it's smell. It just smells like the place needs a good thorough clean, especially in the carpets. Anyways, we got seated and started looking at the menu. I ended up getting breakfast of 2 eggs, bacon, hash browns, and toast. I asked that my hash browns be extra crispy. I got my plate and my disappointment was in the hash browns. Usually, extra crispy for me means there's a crispy coat on the outside. From what I got served, its like they took a blob ball of hash browns and threw it on the griddle. There was barely any crispiness and I ate the few crispy parts since I feel like the rest was raw potato. My boyfriend ordered the same as me except for his eggs being scrambled. Somehow they got cheese on his order even though he said no to the offer. Luckily for him, he's not lactose intolerant. The waitress made sure we weren't charged extra for the cheese. Why the two starts? Cleanliness needs to be shown to the place and try to get our order right. Otherwise, I am better off making breakfast at home. read more

I had the garden omelet with whole grain pancakes and it was really good! My friend had the belgian waffle and chowed that down! The reason it gets three stars is that the menus were dirty, sticky and just disgusting and the restaurant needs an overall. There were tears in the seat and everything seemed to be dated. I stopped by today because I really wanted pancakes and decided to give it a go again. It's been about 2 years. I see that they are finishing up a much needed renovation and I am happy to see that. This one's out to the Battlefield Blvd, Chesapeake VA, location. If I could rate negative stars, I would. Our experience was unprofessional on so many levels. Waited at the table and no one greeted us, we had to ask for our drinks, even heard the workers arguing about who was going to pick up our table, and no one did. And to top everything off, another table sat down by us and they were so quickly to be greeted and assisted. So much workers around, yet all we kept getting from them was nasty looks. I have no idea what your folks issue was, but if it's because of the way we look, don't EVER bother going to Hawai'i. That place is crawling with "people like us", and if you disrespect, just remember you're not at home anymore! we don't tolerate any sort of disrespect.
