Wonka Burger
Zac K.

We visited this location after looking at lights in Tanglewood. We came in somewhat late but still around an hour before closing. It was a typical IHOP set up but seemed clean. They were severely understaffed and it seemed they only had one person working for the entire dining room and as the hostess. As such, the service was slow. We made our orders after around 20 minutes and then our food took another 40 to come out and it came out slowly, seemed the kitchen may also have been understaffed. We tried the Wonka menu and the lemonade was delicious and the cotton candy was light, flavorful and soft. My burger was unique however it seemed it was missing a few ingredients it was listed to include, it wasn't bad and I didn't ask for a correction due to the time and the slow service. But it definitely would have benefited from the full ingredients. The pancakes were good, very sweet but as expected from the menu! All in all, I didn't expect a gourmet experience at ihop and the food wasn't bad, but some little things definitely could have made this just ok visit a better one.

Wonka Menu

Ever since I saw the advertisements for the Wonka menu I just had to go try it! I'm not a huge fan of pancakes, but the menu just looked so fun. We arrived close to 9pm as we had just come from tanglewood, but the staff was super friendly and seated us anyways even though it was close to closing time. I ordered the strawberry hot chocolate and the chocolate pancake tacos, both from the wonka menu. The hot chocolate was delicious!! I'm not a huge fan of pancakes, but wanted to try them anyways. The pancakes were pretty ok, the fresh strawberries on top of them were the best part! Overall a decent ihop experience, and the menu was super fun!

What a fruit cup came with.

The place had a strange smell just outside the front door but the inside was very clean. The ambience would have been better if not for the two African American men talking real loud about homosexuals and everything else in the world which was allowed to go on for. The waitress was nice but gave me the impression she didn't like serving us. The omelette was delicious and the seasonal fruit cup was ok until I got to the bottom where I found two wedges of a small orange with the rind still on them.

Tres Leches pancakes

I haven't been to an IHOP in about 10 years. I always thought they were overpriced for what you got. But, on a whim today my hubby and I decided to go for breakfast. The host was friendly and we only had to wait about 10 min even though they were 'hoppin'(haha get it?) Our server was very nice and helped me decided what to order. My hubby ordered an omelet and coffee with a side of tres leches pancakes and I chose a combo with eggs, bacon, hash browns and vanilla spice pancakes. One thing IHOP has always done right is bring a small carafe of hot coffee so you can refill at your leisure. Most places have servers walking around refilling coffee mugs but, when you add cream or sugar to your coffee, it throws off the flavor if they refill a cup that is only half full again and getting the desired flavor is hard to obtain again. That is a pet peeve of the coffee drinkers in my house. Our food came out quickly and was nice and hot. My eggs were cooked just how I ordered them and I loved the servers suggestion of the vanilla spice pancakes. We had a very pleasant dining experience for breakfast and we also got to check out the new burger menu while we were there which looked great! We will definitely check them out for lunch or dinner another day.

Went here late at night right before they're closing. The waitres who took our order took everyone's order but when the food came only four plates came out I guess she wrote one of the orders really small she didn't see it. So she made the cooks cook the last plate she said since it wasn't on the order it won't be on the bill. Which was really nice of her. Place was really empty since it was close to closing so the food came out quickly. I enjoyed my turkey sandwich with avacado that's my favorite from ihop whenever I'm there for lunch or dinner.

This is a "full" order of fries. Smallest portions ever.

It's right near Tanglewood Park in the corner of the shopping center across the street. I went in was greeted quickly the lady behind the counter was friendly so that was good. I'm pretty sure I was one of their first customers of the day but everything came out pretty fast. I got a plate of brisket with Mac and Cheese as well as fried okra (they give you a piece of cornbread as well). In about 5 minutes everything was ready got some extra bbq sauce and everything seemed pretty smooth. I decided to take a look at it everything before I drove and do a small sample test but wasn't quite what I expected. The brisket was a bit dry to my liking but some pieces were pretty good so I would say it was above average but I've some brisket around the area that was a bit better. The okra was lacking flavor it was fried perfectly but I didn't really taste any type of seasoning. With the right seasoning the okra would've been a 10/10! The Mac and Cheese was a bit different than what I'm used to it was cheesy but I wasn't a fan in all honesty. The cornbread was fire! Very easy 10/10 for me. Overall though it was okay I'd go back but would try something different for sure. If you're around Clemmons I'd still check the place out.

Their service was amazing, the cashier was incredibly friendly and provided suggestions on what to order. They quoted a 20-25 minute lead time for our order, but it was ready in less than 10 minutes. It came out hot, fresh, and delicious. They offer indoor and outdoor seating, with an indoor/outdoor intercom so you can hear when your order is ready, regardless of where you sit. I ordered their Big Nick Mac, a take on the Big Mac with seasoned fries, house-made thousand-island dressing, lettuce, pickles, diced onions, and cheese. The chili-cheese hot dog and onion rings are also excellent. The cashier suggested adding their locally made pimento cheese to the hot dog, a phenomenal addition to an already delicious hot dog.

It was a little hard to find because a road is closed in the vicinity but we were able to find it using the Waze app. The building itself is a large steel structure which has been nicely finished on both inside and out. We arrived about 4:30pm on a Saturday afternoon and were immediately greeted. We were taken to a booth and there were a couple of other tables seated. Immediately, you could tell this was a family run business with multiple generations pitching in. The young man who took our drink order was friendly and efficient. They have quite a few taps on the back wall but they were not in service and therefore were only offering cans and bottles. The menu says they currently have malfunctions with their cooler. We were given time to peruse the menu but were checked in on to ensure we didn't have questions. The menu offers burgers, fries and dogs but they are all elevated. There are some very creative and special combinations which as the asterisk notates on the menu some items are unable to be changed. We decided to start with the pub bucket, which offers steak fries along with melted cheddar cheese and ranch. My wife ordered the Elvis burger which features bourbon glazed apples, peanut butter, banana chutney and cheddar cheese. I chose the Godfather which features salami, pepperoni and mozzarella, and I chose to get the creamy garlic pesto on the side. My wife went to use the restroom and on her way back she reported that it was very clean and she happened to notice their recent state inspection certificate boasted an impressive 99.5! Our appetizer arrived in a timely manner and while it looked different (we are used to restaurants serving fries with cheese melted with a side of ranch) this had the fries topped with cheese and the ranch poured on top. But let me tell you they were delicious! Lots of heavenly cheddar cheese which was perfectly melted and gooey topped with delicious ranch dressing. Our burgers arrived shortly afterwards and are wrapped up when served. We began to unwrap and they also looked delicious. My wife immediately started eating hers while my camera ate first. My wife commented that her burger was absolutely delicious and said she was a bit iffy at first on the cheddar cheese being served with the sweet toppings but was happy to report she thought it worked perfectly and she was glad she didn't alter the burger. My burger was a double and huge! Since I had asked for the aoili on the side because I am not a mayo guy and while it was very good I should have asked for some ketchup to dip my burger in. I enjoyed it alot and saved half for later. My wife had her eye on the apple ring sundae. It is Granny Smith apple rings, sliced and cored and dipped in cinnamon sugar and deep fried, topped with vanilla ice cream and cool whip and drizzled with homemade caramel sauce. She ordered the half version which includes three rings. It took a little longer for the dessert to arrive because by this time they had started to get busy with a majority of the inside tables full as well as a few outdoor tables and several to go orders. The dessert arrived and my wife was happy to report it was also delicious. So glad we finally stopped in and we already have talked about our next time. It was apparent from our time there that they have a following and it is easy to see why. We did ask about onion rings and were told they plan to bring back again in the fall. Awesome service, creative menu, clean and family run. Plan your visit!

They're absolutely unseasoned and bland. Not sure why, maybe because of the demographic- older folks need to watch for their sodium intake LOL. If you order green beans, you can season them and add butter that sits on the table, and that way they're fine. The Friday special - various combinations of fish and shrimp- have been consistently good and pretty big in size for one person. The last time, it was different - filets were so small, they looked like just scraps that fell off a large piece, plus add all the breading, you ended up with nothing but deep-fried breading. We complained to the waitress, and she said she was aware of that and assumed maybe they went with a different supplier. It was a few months ago, we haven't ordered fish since then. Hopefully they made a note and returned to their original fish dish sizes. The rest of menu is good and tasty (although I'd double check on spaghetti dish- ordered it once awhile back and it was bad, very thin and bland, tasted like a can of tomatoes were poured over noodles).
