Our family patronizes the Clovis IHOP 8-12 times a month. Good food, fair prices, friendly staff with (usually) attentive service. But today... I'm almost at a loss for words. All three grilled sandwiches came out burnt - on both sides. The sourdough toast - bottom slices black, top slices almost untoasted. The ham in the sandwich - burnt edges. Omelette - eggs burnt. The seasoned fries - no seasoning. The French Toast - burnt on the bottom. ...Ya gotta be kidding... The waitress had the gall to actually bring burnt food to the table. (Food Service Rule #1: - NEVER deliver sub-par food to a customer.... Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares, anyone?) I asked for the manager to come to my table so I can make them aware of the problem in the kitchen. I was told, "She can't come out right now - she's in the kitchen cooking." OMG. (No wonder the waitress didn't send back the burnt food at the serving window.) She offers 15% off the tab. Dumbfounded, I decline and asked that the manager evaluate our blackened meals and offer a better solution. After a few minutes, the waitress returns with edible toast and seasoning salt for the fries, which are now barely lukewarm. When we were done eating most of the non-charcoal items, the manager shows up and offers to recook our meals. (We're done eating. We want more food? Really?!) I decline. She asks what was wrong with the food. I show her the pervasive blackness. Her reply? "I cooked your food." ...like that makes it all okay?! After I tell her that this meal is far below par and not what we've come to expect from IHOP, she apologizes and walks away - no offer to comp the burnt items like one might expect. The waitress eventually delivers the bill - with a 15% employee family discount applied to the total. Better than nothing, but not right. At this point, I decided to Yelp! about it, and took a picture. I've had food problems at other restaurants and have received not only corrected food, but complimentary desserts AND 40-80% off the tab, with the servers and managers falling all over themselves with apologies, begging forgiveness for the culinary faux pas. (A couple of times, the entire meal was on the house!) THAT is how you make it right, ensure customer satisfaction, and earn return business. Well that's disgusting. We were sat in a booth near the kitchen. My daughter suddenly moved to the center of the bench and sad "mom" she pointed at the wall where dozens upon dozens of baby cockroaches were scattering on the wall and along the ledges. We stood and pointed it out to our server who got another employee. He apologized and said they'd been having a problem and he was calling a pest company right away . If you know you have an insect problem so severe the customer area is literally crawling with roaches, you close, clean, and treat. A day of lost income is way better than contaminating your customers eating area. Disgusted. read more

Service here is subpar. I ordered fruit and toast, they forgot my toast. My kid ordered a rooty jr , his pancake was raw. Server brought out the bill before my kid got his replacement pancake. On top of that, my kid also asked for yogurt as a side and he got a warm yogurt. read more

The so-called "International House of Pancakes," is a franchise that only exists in the US. So it's not so much a house of pancakes as it is a HOUSE OF LIES. That being said, you really can't beat the boysenberry pancakes. They really go all out. I would say that here and Denny's are basically the same place, but the pancakes are better (best be, if you're going to brag about them in your name), so that makes IHOP the eternal victor. I hadn't been to IHOP for about 18 years and always thought it was only breakfast. I usually just glaze over the sign and finally had been given a gift card. I went in for lunch and was so surprised how good it was. I tried the Tilapia plate. SO good! The berry drink was a nice surprise. All the employees were right on helpful and polite from the serving and host. Thank you for making my day a little better. It is worth going back to. I may just try breakfast next time. read more

Okay. So, here's the thing... I generally avoid IHOP like the plague due to poor service and less-than mediocre food. However, when fall rolls around, they have those wheat pancakes with the walnuts in them, and they're like, my favorite thing. I could take or leave (mostly leave) anything at ihop, but those specific pancakes (with just a little pecan syrup) GIVE ME LIFE, so I make an exception when they're available. That said, all my negative remarks about IHOP in this review refer SPECIFICALLY to the IHOP in my area (Shaw & Marks area.) i actually stopped going because every experience there was more terrible than the last, and at that point, I had sworn off all IHOPs all together. I only came to this one because it was near my mom's doctor's office, after her appointment she was craving pancakes, she offered to pay, its fall so I knew they had my favorite pancakes there and I hadn't had them in a LONG time, so I was like "what the hell...maybe it will be better than my IHOP." Man, the whole experience was just super satisfying. My food (not just the pancakes) was delish. Zero complaints. My mom, who is SUPER picky about her milk being very cold (she likes it "ice cold" she says) commented on how cold her milk was. In my whole life, I don't remember that happening anywhere, but I definitely remember countless times where she sent her milk back because it wasn't cold enough. IHOP achieved what I always believe my whole life to be unachievable: get my moms milk right. And to finish off the whole thing, our server was great. I mean, he was really rad. I can't remember his name but he had a portrait tattoo of a cat named "Mr. Boots" I think. I mean, that's like cool level maximum (I'm a cat person, obvi.) Ordered via uber eats but I guess its really better when you order for pick up because you get to check on your order. We ordered 3 breakfast samplers. The pancakes were good but we were given the butter that you use for your toast instead of using the butter that they usually use for pancake. Ofcourse, its more convenient to just put that packaged butter instead of putting the real butter in a container to send with your order. So annoying because we only ordered from here because of the pancake, butter and syrup and that is what we get. Whoever prepared it was a lazy worker. read more

We visited this morning and received impeccable service from Brandon. He was attentive but not intrusive, took our order quickly, brought our drinks, and offered refills. The food was hot and the orders were well prepared and tasty. My son got a milk ($2.50 seems a little steep for a small when that will buy a whole gallon of milk at the store), the breakfast sampler with over-medium eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, pancakes, and well done hash browns. I enjoyed an iced mocha (with free refills!), eggs Benedict with pancakes instead of hash browns. The only complaint was that the hollandaise was too sweet, which was odd, and needed a bit more lemon, though I was happy that my Benedict was well sauced & the amount of hollandaise wasn't skimpy. Eggs Benedict is traditionally served with a couple slices of tomato or fruit - I missed that little add-on since its a heavy meal and needs a little light side. Over all, the dining room wasn't busy (though I have waited over an hour to be seated during busy Sundays) and it was a very pleasant visit. read more

I normally visit this location frequently but today was the worst day by far. Upon being seated, it took 3 different people to take the order FOR BEVERAGES and it took roughly 30 minutes for drink. It took another 35 for food and it wasn't worth eating. Had to send 2 of the 3 plates back as they refused to take back the T-Bone steak and eggs combo. The menu here is outstanding. There were so many great choices here that it makes it difficult to decide what to order, specifically for breakfast. I had the "healthy choice" Belgian waffles topped with fresh sliced bananas, strawberries, and strawberry glaze. It was so good, I kept ranting and raving about it to my husband with every bite! It was hot and the waffle was cooked perfectly with the perfect portion size. I also had their egg substitute (which tasted just like real egg-couldn't tell the difference at all in flavor) and the turkey bacon which, in my opinion, tastes better than pork bacon. Their mango strawberry fizz drink was also pretty tasty. Oh and the meal I had was only 5.99. I was also very pleased with the customer service and speediness in the preparation of the food. We got in at 6:20 pm our hostess was nice and pleasant. Our waiter Manuel arrived at 6:22pm and took our drink orders. Our waiter came and took our dinner orders at 6:30pm, we were totally given enough time to review the menu. Our food arrived at 640pm...with soda refills in hand! I was super thrilled at the customer service and quality control of this establishment. I kept specific times on key events so that hopefully other business in the area learn a thing or two. On our way out we were thanked for our business and asked to return soon...with this service I will totally be coming back... We went at about 1pm on a Tuesday and it was not busy at all. The atmosphere was a bit morbid feeling and the waiters all had a forced smile that creeped me out. Our food came out quick, and tasted alright. Stuffed French toast was good but the eggs and hash browns were soggy. It really sucks that I have to lower the star rating of this restaurant. I used to love coming here for the service and the breakfast. But I have to change where I get my breakfast now because of one thing. The portion size. I used to get pancakes that were a good size. I've always ordered the same thing here (cinnamon bun pancake breakfast). I had been to a couple other locations while I was out of town and I found that they shrunk the size of the pancakes down to something you would see on a kids meal and I hoped hadn't done that here given this was my favorite ihop location. Today I decided to come in and ask. The greeter up front told me they were the smaller size. I cancelled my table said thank you and left. For an adult male you would need to order 2 pancake combos to feel full. Before 1 was plenty Now I'm using yelp to find another place for breakfast. Goodbye IHOP. This IHOP is CLEARLY better than the one on Fresno St. It's because they're under different ownership. They have great service and will refill your drinks. They don't forget about you! Sweet and kind employees! The ham isn't burnt or salty. They got my order right and the cooks thoroughly cooked the food. By far a lot better than Fresno St! I really wish I could give 0 stars because the service was absolutely TERRIBLE. Got seated immediately which was great, until I had to wait 15 MINUTES just for our server to take our drink order! Then after 5 minutes she comes back with our drinks and we place our order then she brings our pancakes and walks away. We had NO SILVERWARE so I had to find someone else to bring it to us. Then our pancakes weren't fully cooked but of-course our server was NO WHERE to be found so we ate half cooked pancakes. And our server never returned to ask how our food was if we needed refills on our drinks (which we did) she only returned to give us our bill then left. Definitely will NEVER return to this location! IHOP is one of my favorite restaurants for pancakes. So on 2/25/2020 for National Pancake Day of course I decided to go so I can eat pancakes. You see, on National Pancake Day a short stack of 3 pancakes are free, they just ask if possible that you kindly make a $5 donation to the Children's Miracle Network. Well there is no issue with that. However, have you ever noticed that when the pancakes are free you can barely eat half of the short stack but if you were paying the short stack would seem insufficient to satisfy your hunger. I like to order my pancakes cooked light so they won't be hard. Today the pancakes were doughy , yes they were fully cooked but they didn't taste the way they usually do. It may sound weird but I joke not, the pancakes don't taste the same when they are free vs when you have to pay for them. I find that the pancakes are more filling when they are free. I think that IHOP might put more flour or something in the free or all you could eat pancake orders. This is just my thinking? Please share whether you notice a difference in the taste of your pancakes or not when they are all you can eat, free or you will be paying for them. All in all I still like IHOP but I am stuffed. read more

we got in quick, got our drinks pretty quick and the waiter was nice. this place always has some interesting pancakes, french toast, crepes, etc. i had the cheesecake filled apple cinnamon toffee french toast. very sweet but good as expected. the sausage is good and the bacon unlike denny's bacon is edible. eggs were good consistency and hash browns were tasty. their lunch items look delicious as well and the mozzarella sticks are very good and well battered. prices are very good as our can get a lot of food for a small amount. what really impressed me is the young man in a christmas sweater named DEVON who seems to be the host and cashier. he was very inviting and polite and when my 4 year old daughter left her small purse behind, we were already leaving the parking lot in our car and he was sprinting across the lot waving his hands to bring the purse to us. that right there was so kind as he could've just put it in the lost and found. we are very grateful and recommend this location to anyone who wants good food with good prices with true service. read more

We went to IHOP for the first time in this town, our server was Brandon. He was a very sweet person that actually made the experience a lot more enjoyable.
