I have been coming to this location for about 15 years, and the server who was helping us (who I assume is the manager) has been there since I was a child. The menu item that I always order was discontinued with out my knowledge. Sandy, our server did every thing she could to have my breakfast made for mee, eventhough they no longer carried it on the menu. She went back and asked one of the cooks Manual if he wouldnt mind making it. He kindly made my breakfast which I was very grateful for because I was craving the cheese blintzes. Food great. Came in for the all you can eat pancakes. Which were delicious but the service was the reason for 3 stars. If you forget to bring utensils and my water when asked twice I tend to get annoyed. I want to eat my food while it's hot. Might rerun but not at this location. read more

I havent been to an IHOP in years, but I am happy to say that in the category of big company breakfast diners IHOP ranks in the top two. Growing up this was the only place you could actually get a decent chocolate chip pancake, which is strange because you would think chocolate + pancake is a winning combination for any breakfast place. My friends and I dined here around brunch time, fueling up before a trip to the Sunvalley Mall. I forgotten what a variety of things they offered and was surprised at all the menu items they had that you couldnt really get at Dennys or Black Bear. I had a chocolate craving and ended up ordering the Banana nutella crepes and a side of the corned beef hash. This was probably my bad for not taking the description of the item more seriously. But what I got was not what I really expected. A crepe to me is known for being a thin pastry stuffed with something. What I got was 4 thin pastrys folded topped with a measly 6 slices of banana, a drizzle of nutella, and a dollop of whip cream. Needless to say it was not that great hence the main reason for my 4 stars. The corned beef hash tasted amazing though, a little too greasy but it caught the attention of my dining companions who after a small taste couldnt get enough. The service was excellent, they were very attentive and friendly. Our waitress brought out all the condiments without us even having to ask. All the bottles were full and clean. Tables were clean and not sticky, syrup holder was a little messy but what can one expect. Parking was relatively easy as well! Overall a good experience. read more

Probably the worst IHOP I've ever been to. As if the 20 minute wait for someone to come and take our order wasn't bad enough, we were waiting for our food for a good hour. Everyone else sitting around us had the same problem. But on the bright side, at least when we left to go pay for just the beverages and complained about how long the food took, the manager apologized and said our drinks were on the house. read more

We decided to try this iHop as we had not noticed it until recently even after driving by the location almost everyday for years. We entered around noon to a very crowded lobby full of customers waiting to pay and just leave. The host hollers at us from the other side of the crowd as if we were at a train station waiting to board. We were seated promptly in an atmosphere of deteriorated carpets and furniture. We were poured some coffee and was then ignored for literally 23 minutes until we finally had to leave. We even noticed that new customers were seated and orders taken. As we left, I went to the front to pay for the coffee, but nobody was at the desk. After lingering around a couple minutes, we decided that we've done enough waiting for today and walked out. A gentleman standing outside the door tells us to have a nice day and thanked us for coming. I told him that we would have loved to stay longer but no one took our order. He apologized and said he will cook for us next time we are there. Turns out he is one of the cooks, but perhaps he should be the host. We may be back, but I doubt it. This would've been a 1-star post if not for the free coffee and the nice gesture at the end. read more

My wife and I are remodeling and needed to find a local place for breakfast. We went here. I had one of the combo meals with two eggs, potatoes, toasted English muffin and bacon and she had the waffle. We both had coffee. As others noted, no one to seat us. Once seated in a one third or less full restaurant at about 10:30 a.m. on a weekday, the waitress came by and told us she had to serve food and would be back. She was polite. 10 minutes later she came back and explained there was her and one fellow who would help us. He never came by. We ordered and waited about 15 minutes. We had now been there about half an hour from the wait to be seated by the mystery hostess, the busy waitress and the time to serve the order. The waffle was properly cooked but neither of us thought it was particularly good. Of course, had it been served hot or very warm or not between room and body temperature, we might have enjoyed it more. The two eggs were cooked as ordered. But, they also had reached room temperature and were coated with grease. The English muffin was not a variety like Thompson's and was a basic dough with no nooks and an attempt at a tartly sour flavor. I guess it saw a toaster, but it was not toasted and of course, it hit a low point in chilled food. I eat bacon. I know it is not a health food. But I am a bacon fan. I left the bacon. It was soggy, dripping fat, cold, limp, barely cooked, and was a horrible waste of the poor pig who died so this place could actually make two slices of bacon that even I would not eat. The check out person asked how the food was, I explained it was not great and not hot and she was kind enough to take 10% off the bill. She asked if we had told the waitress, I decided not to mention that we could not find her once she served our food till the check was placed on the table. By then all we wanted to do was leave, recover and think about finding a better place. read more

This place seriosly needs to change. My friends and I ate here last night and it was terrible. The service was way too slow considering there were only 2 tables in the whole resturant being served. It took almost 30 mins to get our food and 3 of us ordered breakfast food. On top of that the silverware was dirty and cheap looking. Easy to get a booth, which is important to me in a coffee shop. Consistent basic food. Friendly staff and fast service. You can select from a number of pancake syrups and put on as much as you like yourself. Eggs have always been done right the way I order them. Syrup containers are usually a bit sticky. read more

Went there on a Saturday night and the place was empty. With all that space available, the waiter wanted us to sit right opposite the kitchen. Not very attractive. I asked if we could sit elsewhere and he said 'I don't care.' Obviously. Next couple that came it were seated right next to the kitchen. Convenient for the waiter I guess. Went there on a Tuesday for a birthday lunch. I stood patiently while the waitress walked up to the front desk, texting on her phone at the same time! She didn't write down the drink orders, which she did a good job memorizing it. She also didn't write down the food order, which she forgot 1 of our orders and she forgot about our A1 sauce, my bowl of fruits came late. My husband ordered his steak medium rare, it was more like cooked. I think there was only 1 chef working, they had the hiring sign posted on the door. Still, it was a bad experience. We go to this IHOP on Clayton Road in Concord for breakfast once every few weeks. Normally we get a server who wants to serve and we have a good service. We were there yesterday - and the service was horrible. First I told the waitress that I want my coffee really hot. She brought the coffee and poured in the mug - only half way and left. The coffee tasted like luke warm water. Had to call her and ask her to get another coffee. Asked for water which never came till we left. There was no silverware on the table we had to ask for it. The breakfast came, with cheese on the underside of the plate. I had asked her for pancakes with no butter - well they came loaded with butter. We met the Manager on our way out and told her the service we got. She said the customer who left just before us also had complaints about the same server. Do not eat here especially if your server is Cynthia. Waitress Cynthia decided to tip herself. Came to eat here in a party of 3. After reviewing the check, and agreeing to it, we asked for it to be split down the middle with two cards. Total was $47.55 and Cynthia the waitress returned with two receipts of $26.70 & $38.46. Confused, We asked for an itemized receipt. This was never given instead the card charged $26.70 was charged again. The waitress Cynthia refused to show a final bill with tax and exclaimed that the price difference was a result of a last minute added entree. This was true but then Cynthia decided to handwrite an itemized receipt, hand it to me, and say this is your total without tax... $53.60. Did quick math to discover the rough price to be ~$57. She wasted my time so I wasted hers, we phoned in an order the next day where fortunately Cynthia answered to take it. We got the final total, tax included at $58.33. read more

Well, was here the other day at this location for the first time for free pancake day, didn't take to long to get a seat. This is typically a really busy day for IHOP. I prefer this location verses the one in Walnut Creek. The pancakes came out way turbo charged super fast and all to, and we got great service to. Just went to this place to have a nice lunch with my family. Got there around 1, we had to sit and wait while a lady just sat at the greeter station; yelling to coworkers if they can seat three people. Finally, a man seats us. We waited for about a half hour while serves all around us were cleaning and serving people. One lady came up asked us what we wanted to drink, and ten mins later another lady came with the drinks. Telling us she doesn't know who our server is, but if she can't find out who it is she will be back. Waited another fifteen mins and no one came. I told my bf I think we should just leave. The same First Lady finally came up to us and said I'm sorry I was busy. There is no excuse we watched as the server next to us serve on the people, they left, she cleared the table, and restocked everything on the table without saying a word to us or acknowledging us. They seemed surprised that we were leaving. We have things to do today, and sitting at IHOP isn't one of them. Didn't want to give them any stars, but in order to do a review, I had to give them one. Very busy place and fast service. Food is good as far as I can tell.. I had the quick 2 egg breakfast, scrambled eggs were a lil plain but that's fine because I had ketchup, hash browns was good and the toast was even better! I normally love any small breakfast diner. However I went here with my family did not have a pleasant experience. I kindly asked our server (who seemed to be the manager) if we could substitute the eggs in our daughters meal, for hash browns, because she is allergic to eggs. We ALWAYS have her eggs substituted with no problem, at any IHOP, Denny's, black bear...wherever! Also we had been to this very one in the past, and a different person, a lady, had no problem substituting the eggs. However when we asked the guy he responded by saying "unfortunately I can't do that.. it's against policy" he said this with an irritated attitude and weird grin. I told him her allergy concern, and he still said there's nothing he could do. We went back and forth for a little, but he never changed his tune, all he said was that he would put it on another plate and charge extra... Dumbfounded, and confused we finally agreed and tried to ignore his rude and absurd service and enjoy the rest of our visit. When he brings out the food and hands me a plate of eggs. We assumed the rest of her food was coming so we waited, after a few minutes we realized the asshole cancelled her entire order and just gave her eggs. Also he couldn't even get our drink orders right. We were so pissed, but just wanted to get the hell out of there. Left no tip for that asshole. read more

Ok...as we parked the car to our once favorite breakfast place, it was a ghost town on a sat around 3pm. No other cars in the parking lot, we thought it might be closed. To our surprise it was open. So we get seated but my husband had a bad feeling and mentioned that maybe we shouldn't eat here. I was starving and said hey, at least there won't be a long wait to our food. My husband ordered the T-bone steak and eggs.( Steak cooked med and eggs over easy.) I ordered the Big Steak Omelette (with wheat toast & extra butter.) The food took sooooooo long because they were boiling the steak to death. It was like chewing leather...It was grey and did not look appetizing . Only one out of the three eggs was over easy, the other two were cooked hard! My Big Steak omelette was ok but the tomatoes were old and tasted rotten.The toast was dry and hardly had any butter. As we picked the tomatoes off the omelette, we both shared the omelette with dry wheat toast. Asked for the extra butter and got a small scoop! That does it, I wanted to send the food back but God knows what they'll do to it. I wouldn't want to eat it. We asked for our bill, it was $42. I mean that is insane! I wouldnt mind paying that much if the food was great. I understand its not Ruth's Chris steak house but seriously I refuse to eat at this place for overpriced mediocre food! Had a terrible experience this morning at this location. First problem, our server brought my boyfriend a mug for his coffee stain that had bright pink lipstick stains on one side. Aside from being gross, it then took close to 10 minutes for him to get a clean mug for his coffee. The next problem, occurred after I ordered the bananas foster French toast. When she brought our meals out, she set my plate down with the toast and caramel sauce, and said "sorry, I forgot we were out of bananas". Which is the best part of BANANA foster anything. Unfortunately, we had no time for me to order something different. I completely understand running out of something, but tell your customer as soon as you are aware of the problem, rather than bringing out a dish missing a key component. Finally, it was about 15 minutes into our meal before my boyfriend finally got the toast that came with his omelette. Overall, terrible service. DO NOT GO HERE! Ok first off this location screwed up my order 3 times and hadn't even made the food that I ordered until an hour after I ordered. There were several other people waiting for their messed up orders and demanding refunds. At the end of this ordeal I finally got food, not my food but whatever they felt like giving me, plus a Mountain Dew instead of an orange juice and an iced coffee instead of the hot one I ordered. i had encountered another problem here after a bad experience about 6 months ago swearing not to go back decided maybe things have changed, if you are i.h.o.p. you should be able to make pancakes right? well this place does not they overcook and turning to mush once syrup hits it. as far as the quality very bad and the prices are way too high for the portions,. after explaining to management they are clueless to the complaints ,they just overlook it, by saying nothing means they can have a good rating. don't do this if you have a bad experience say something just maybe they will have to take responsibility for the quality. this place is not good food and hasn't been for some time dont patron them until they become accountable for the cooking and greeting they do. the servers are nothing but rude and rush you in and out so they can whatever? maybe make more $$$$ i believe the servers are to check the order before leaving the cook station to assure the order is correct and what you did order ,i haven't gotten my orders back correct for quite awhile now be cautious. read more
