Came here to eat on my birthday with my family. I will always have a sweet spot for huckleberry, it's one of my favorite breakfast spots. I was so excited when I saw they had one in Concord! On my birthday my family wanted to take me out to breakfast, a place of my choosing of course. We were greeted right away and seated. The serve there was great and we enjoyed our time there. I absolutely love this restaurant! Definitely one of my favorites!

    Let's order.

July 5 2025 3 pm 3.4 stars Nightmare at Huckleberry's This my first time going to a Huckleberry. The dining area looks clean and Isabell our server seems pleasant. The restaurant is large and almost empty. Two young chatty lovers enter the restaurant and Isabell sits them directly behind us. I cleared it with Isabell and the three of us in my party moved to another table so both parties can have some privacy. My son ordered chicken and waffles $18.79 but knowing this chain will only give you two small chicken strips, he requested four strips total. There was a confusion and the waitress brought him six strips total. The strips are $2.99 each. He got the bill adjusted. My wife and I shared the chicken fried steak breakfast $19.99 with and a cup of grits $4.29 and extra gravy $1.49. The breakfast is large enough to share and we enjoyed it. The grits had already started to turn to cement when they were served and were inedible. The coffee was pretty good but is it really $4.29 these days? And you may need to ask for creamer. Halfway through lunch I excused myself to go use the Men's Room. It is graffitied and bits of waste paper are strewn around. I enter the stall, lock the door, and check if there is tissue before I sit. There is. I attempt to get some tissue off the roll in preperation but it is a new roll and it takes me some scratching at it before I get it to release some squares. Darkness. What the Hell? Did I black out?!? Pitch black. Buried in a Coffin alive Claustrophobic Darkness. There is zero light. I try to open my eyes but they are already open arent they? I hope my eyes adjust to the darkness but it is hopeless. My heart beats. Apparently the lights are on a motion sensor timer. My phone is back at the table. I quit smoking years ago and have no lighter. Fortunately my hand knows where the tissue dispenser is and I finish the task at hand in blindness. I wave my hands around in hopes of triggering the light. Nothing. I can't see the stall door. I reach out and run my hand up and down the door edge. I find what feels like a clothing hook but can't figure out how to open the door. I'm screaming in my head but there is nobody to hear me. I shake and rattle the door to hear where the lock should be. I have an idea where the lock bolt should be but I can't figure out how to open the door. I shake the door violently in hopes the door pops open. It doesn't. I'm panicking. Should I try to kick the door open? Should I hollar for help? I might have to get on the floor and climb under the stall to escape. I am blind. I am panicking. I jiggle and probe the area again with the jacket hook and what's this- Finally. Finally the door opens and the lights turn on. I can see now that I need to flush. I flush with my foot, wash my hands and there are no towels to dry with. I dry my hands with seat liners and report the lack of towels to Isabell. She seems pleasant. .

I love going to Huckleberry's for breakfast. It has become our go-to breakfast/brunch spot in the area. The best thing about this specific location is that parking is never an issue. We either get lucky or it less busier during the beginning of the week. The decor gives a New Orleans, bayou vibe when you walk in. The service - top tier. The host seated us immediately and we didn't wait that long to meet our server. We didn't wait long for our food either. I ordered the usual: Huckleberry Lemonade, beignets, and my favorite, fried green tomatoes. On this specific day, I ordered all 3 and the chicken fried steak breakfast with a side of fruit. Everything was delicious. Please note* The beignets aren't like Cafe Du Monde beignets but they're still tasty and one of our favorite items on the menu. Can't wait to return!

I heard a lot of good things about Huckleberry's in Concord when it first opened, but as with all new places, I tend to wait before visiting the first time to avoid the crowds, long lines. Unfortunately, I forgot about Huckleberry's until today while doing a search on Yelp to find a new spot for lunch. We got there just before 1 PM (Sunday) and there were no crowds, no lines -- moderately busy. This restaurant is decorated nicely and very clean. The host and our server were very polite and kind, yet perfectly professional. Beverages are served in large mason jar type glasses. The peach iced tea came with a lemon wedge and pieces of peaches floating on top. Our food arrived quickly and everything was at the right temperature. Hot items were hot, and cold items were cold. My son had the grilled chicken sandwich with fries. My California Benedict with a side of fresh fruit (instead of red potatoes) was so good! The hollandaise sauce was smooth and creamy, the fried green tomatoes crispy and hot underneath the perfectly poached eggs. The fresh fruit salad was actually very fresh, with ripe melon chunks, pineapple chunks, red seedless grapes, sliced strawberries and a few pieces of freshly sliced banana on top. The menu is varied enough to please any palate. There are great Southern favorites, like catfish and po boys. Huckleberry's is most definitely being added to our rotation.

Had a great experience at Huckleberry's! We came here for a work lunch for the second time. The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the huckleberry lemonade, which was refreshing and full of flavor. My skillet with eggs, shrimp, andouille sausage, bell peppers, and tomatoes was cooked perfectly and packed with bold, savory flavor. Everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned. We had great and attentive service as well. I'll definitely be back!

I met with my cousin here for brunch/lunch. I have never been here before personally, so I wanted to give them a try. I have heard of huckleberry's but never myself ate inside of one. Seating was pretty simple for us and we got a booth by the window. Our server was nice and took our order pretty swiftly. Chicken Fried Steak: The steak was fried very well. It was crispy and did not look like it sat in oil too much. The gravy was delicious and it was nice to have it on the side so that the chicken fried steak did not become softer throughout the meal. The eggs were scrambled well and I love the country potatoes done the bayou way. Crab Cake Benedict: I am not normally a huge crab cake guy, but I wanted to give it a try. The Hollandaise sauce they had was perfect for me and the crab cakes themselves were delicious and flaky. It had a fair amount of crab to consume. The hash browns were extra crispy, but my only complaint was that I wanted it bayou style and they forgot to add it. Still, they placed it on the side for me at least. Overall, I had a great time here and would come back again.

I know Huckleberry is popular in the Sacramento area and was super surprised that we had a location down here our way. We got sat down super quick on a Sunday around 12ish, which is always a surprise because we know how much everyone loves to eat out on a weekend. Ordered the Banana Foster breakfast and I think the only thing I really enjoyed on my plate was the fried green tomatoes. I wish it was both green tomatoes, I got one red and one green and then the sauce served with it was stunning. The sausages was burnt, but I STILL ate it - LOL! The sausages was 2nd favorite on my plate. I wish there was more flavor on the french toast alone. Overall: 6/10 Fried beignet was something I was really looking forward to and then see how it came out, I was shocked. Only because, we weren't going to order them until our waiter recommended that we do and all that jam and custard was not it only because we weren't aware of all that jam and custard that came with it. Overall: 4/10 But, like I always say, don't knock it till you try it.

Why didn't I check my review from a couple of years ago before coming here? The old saying that "the third time is a charm" certainly did not apply. From the reviews and the rather crowded dining area, Huckleberry's is popular. Just not the restaurant for DH and me. On the plus side, the portions are large. We only ate half and had enough to reheat the next morning. (Note: the takeout boxes are difficult to close ... even our server had problems.) DH enjoyed his Missippi Skillet. However, his wheat toast did not arrive with the meal. When it finally arrived, it looked like ordinary toast. It was cold and not toasted "very dark" as ordered. And disappointingly it was flavorless and "marshmallow" in texture. His coffee was also in the flavorless category. Knowing that such coffee is typical of "diner-style" restaurants, I ordered a Bloody Mary. It was advertised as being made with Zing Zang so sounded like it would be OK. But there was so much ice in the glass (AKA mason jar) that it was really watered down. The huge olive was the one good extra. The small stalk of celery was past its prime. The slice of bacon was cold and limp. I packed the bacon in my takeout box and reheated it the next day. Short time in the microwave and it was hot and crisp ... just the way it should have been served. The Bloody Mary (which BTW was slow in coming) was not the only problem with my meal. My order was either written down wrong or given to someone else. Instead of scrambled eggs and French toast, I was served two sunny side eggs and a waffle. Not sure if ham was on the plate or not. Sent it back before it touched the table. Long wait and finally got the right meal. Thick slice of ham was okay, not great. Better when reheated at home. The portion of scrambled eggs was large but institutional in texture and flavor. The French toast which I was looking forward was the biggest disappointment. Not grilled long enough, rather soggy. Again, it lacked flavor. Will blame it on the "marshmallow" texture of inexpensive bread. Even toasting it at home did not help much. I was not surprised that our server, an older woman, called DH "hon" and me nothing. Is that part of the down-home Southern-style atmosphere of Huckleberry's? Not a deal breaker, just annoying. The real deal breaker is poor service and flavorless food.

LOVE their breakfast foods. I have been here several times and have ordered on DoorDash as well. Staff is always very friendly and I love the Louisiana theme they have. Will definitely be back again.

Placed orddr online ahead of time for a Sunday morning pickup. Food is okay. Might be a better experience with dine-in. Online ordering before making payment has an option for utensils or not. I elected YES. The order I picked up did not come with any. A simple task such as this was horribly missed. Fking amazing...

One of my favorite spot for brunch, food is always really good and hot always right, service is one of the best, our host Jo provide excellent customer service, she is friendly making sure you have what you need with out you waiting and keeping your hand up to get her attention and I love that, this is the reason why we love to come here.

I went to Huckleberry's for lunch. Very down home backwoods country restaurant feel. My wife ordered the Catfish and Chips with Strawberry Lemonade. I ordered the Shrimp Po Boy with Peach Tea. I love how the drinks are in the mason jars! Food and drinks were very delicious! Good service! I definitely recommend Huckleberry's Breakfast & Lunch

Does the cook wear a mask?

    Do they require full vaccination?

They didn't ask for this info, we visited last week.

Is there a patio/outdoor dinning option? Update: we went for lunch and there is a "sunroom" but no actual outdoor/fresh air dining.

No, there's not. A sunroom is not outdoor dining.

Do they offer Impossible or Beyond burgers or sausage for vegetarian clientele?

Laura, Yes they do offer vegetarian choices on the menu like impossible meats.

We decide to sit at the bar area to sit on the stools instead of taking up a table. We ordered the crispy chicken eggs Benedict and choco banana pancakes. Let me tell you, the portions are large.. so make sure you bring an appetite. We ended up sharing our plates and I think we both agreed that we loved the crispy chicken eggs Benedict most- but they were both really delicious. The chicken was crispy. The eggs were cooked to perfection. The crispy potatoes, even though at first I was a little disappointed there was no hashbrowns, I am so glad! Those potatoes are amazing! The pancakes were pretty delicious as well, but I think the toppings and the caramelized banana bananas on the side were the best part. We also tried two different drinks. A Matcha latte as well as a 'butterfly pea latte'- which I believe was a lavender latte maybe? They were both very beautiful and delicious. The only downside to our experience here was that because it was pretty busy, our service was not as fast as we would like. So we had to ask for a couple of things, after getting the server's attention. Other than that, we had an amazing experience. We will be back to try more things on the menu soon!

It took us about 30 min before we were seated and we arrived around 1200. We just hung out in the parking lot until our name was called. The menu is pretty straightforward and of course, any brunch place I have to try their eggs Benedict. My usual go to is the Eggs Florentine (I prefer going the meatless options when it comes to my Benny) but the crispy chicken looked visually delicious. Crispy Chicken Benedict: This was as salivating as pictured. The chicken was super crispy, despite being underneath the Hollandaise sauce. Oh, and the sauce itself was perfect. It was their spicier version, so it had a bit of a kick after the second wave. The rest of the Benny is what I expect, the English muffins baked correctly and the eggs poached perfectly. The potatoes were crispy and not too oily as well. Overall, I had a great time at this restaurant. A bit small but it holds its charm. I can see myself coming back here again.

OKAAAYY 1800, with the updated furniture since my first visit! It definitely gives it a "more than…read morea diner" feel. The outside is still as inconspicuous as ever, though. If you blink, you might miss it. Service is still 10/10! This time around, I ordered a hot matcha latte, and honestly, I wasn't expecting much (let's be real, some places can mess up matcha). But surprise, surprise -- it actually tasted like real matcha! It was delicious! For my meal, I tried the cowboy scramble, which I swear was everything but the kitchen sink tossed in a pan. It was hearty, satisfying, and totally hit the spot. The only hiccup? The melted butter they used on the toast had a weird aftertaste. I can't quite explain it -- like if butter went to a weird party and came back a little off. But hey, it didn't ruin the whole meal, just a little side note. All in all, I'm into the new look, and I'll definitely be back for that legit matcha latte and hefty scramble!

I originally went out looking for a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich and Googled "good breakfast…read morenear me." This spot came up, and although my wife and I have driven past it many times, we've never stopped in. Today, I decided to finally give it a try. After looking through the Google photos, I changed my mind and ordered a breakfast plate instead of a sandwich. Parking was a little challenging. I arrived around 11:00 a.m. and had to circle the block a few times before finding a spot directly in front of the diner. When I walked in, I wasn't sure whether I should seat myself or wait to be seated. All of the waitresses appeared busy, so I stood near the entrance. Once she was available, Marianna greeted me. Initially, I wasn't a fan of being asked whether I was picking up food rather than whether I was dining in or taking out, but I quickly realized they may be accustomed to regular customers who already know the process. Since it was my first visit, I explained that I wasn't sure if I should seat myself. Personally, I think a sign near the entrance would be helpful for first-time guests. Since I was dining alone, I chose a seat at the counter and ordered the Sugar Plum Special with cheese grits and sourdough toast. While waiting for my food, I noticed something that concerned me. The staff did not appear to be wearing gloves, and I observed food being handled after touching various surfaces, including condiments, plates, glasses, and trash areas. While I understand that food service relies heavily on proper handwashing practices, I personally felt uncomfortable watching bread being handled directly by hand. I requested that my toast be handled with a utensil instead, and my request was accommodated without issue. When my food arrived, my eggs were cooked exactly as requested--scrambled hard--and the bacon was perfectly crispy. The bacon was a little saltier than I personally prefer, but that's more about my taste than the preparation. Overall, both items were flavorful. Now, let's talk about the grits. I come from a strong Southern background, and we take our grits seriously. The presentation was fantastic. The butter melting on top and the cheese looked absolutely perfect. Unfortunately, the texture wasn't there on the first serving. The grits were noticeably gritty and undercooked. After a couple of bites, I sent them back and requested they be cooked a bit longer. One of the waitresses explained that customers typically need to request the grits "well done." That was surprising to me because I've always believed grits should naturally be cooked until smooth and creamy. In my opinion, that's how they're meant to be served. Thankfully, the second batch was much better. While they still could have been stirred a bit more, the texture improved significantly and was much closer to what I expected. I also want to recognize Marianna for her excellent service. She was accommodating, attentive, and handled my concerns professionally throughout the meal. Overall, I would return. The restaurant has a warm, family-oriented atmosphere and an old-school diner feel that is becoming harder to find these days. It reminded me of the kind of place you'd visit after church on a Sunday morning or somewhere you'd go with your grandparents for a comforting home-cooked meal. While there were a few areas that could be improved, the welcoming environment and friendly service left a positive impression on me.

Solid old school diner experience in Concord. We've passed by this restaurant many times, but its…read moreusually packed. We decided to try it today and lucked out, we arrived about 11 and we were seated right away. Sevice was friendly and efficient. We ordered a sausage breakfast sandwich on sourdough with fries and the Concord omlette (sub bacon for ham, mushrooms and swiss) with country potatoes. Food came out quickly, it was flavorful and exactly what we wanted. I asked for a side of ranch and it was delicious! If you are in the area and are looking for a causal diner, this is it.

Cozy diner serving generous portions!…read more I took my mom here for lunch on a Sunday. Most of the tables were occupied but we were able to get a seat at a table near the bar. We were given menus right after being seated and the waitress came back a few minutes later. I'd say service was friendly and the food came out pretty fast. This is what we ordered: * Organic beet salad with ranch dressing, $13 - delicious and refreshing salad with romaine, sliced beets, avocado chunks, grape tomatoes, nuts, sliced red onions, and feta cheese. I chose ranch and thought it paired well with the salad. * Fish and chips, $16.95 - 5 crispy battered cod (tasted like cod to me) pieces with plenty of French fries and a side of tartar sauce and lemon wedges. My mom liked how the batter was thin and crispy. The fish pieces were a little smaller than my hands. * Very berry waffle, $15.95 - soft waffle with blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries dusted with powdered sugar and came with syrup on the side. The berries were sweet and the waffle was very tasty with syrup on top. * Sweet potato fries, $5.95 - crispy outside and soft inside. I love sweet potato fries and theirs were delicious. I ate it with ketchup, ranch, hot sauce, and tartar sauce. The portions were pretty big so my mom and I split everything. We ended up taking some fries home. The reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is because I found a hair in one of the containers of ranch that came with the salad, I thought the fries tasted a bit stale and dry when they were cold, and I wish the waffle came with butter and wish it was a little more crispy. Overall, I did enjoy my lunch here and my mom and I would come back! I'd try one of the omelettes next time.
