My favorite IHOP in the area is still the one off Jimmy Carter, but I tried ordering from this location a few weeks back and had a positive experience overall. I would say I agree with Tom E. on how my experience went - a little slower than other locations, but thorough and friendly. My hubby wanted breakfast for dinner and requested the country fried steak meal. I got cheese sticks - not that I needed them, as I had already picked up my order from Sweet Hut across the parking lot lol. Anyway, I called in the order without issue and waited in the lot. When I got inside, there was a bit of a wait to be greeted. Another gentleman and I waited patiently for quite awhile. After being greeted, my order came out promptly. The server almost forgot my ranch but remembered independently, which would have been fine with me either way. The food turned out great - just as good as any other location I've been to. In terms of the kind of consistency and reliability that I expect from chain restaurants, this ihop certainly delivered, even if the server ladies were clearly spread thin and working overtime. The omelette was just as I like it with no skimping, nothing more and nothing less, and so were the buttermilk pancakes. This is a good ihop location. It's right after a light so it can get a little crowded at the entrance sometimes. Be careful. People drive really wild on Pleasant Hill Road. If you order online like I do, your food will be done on time. I've only had an issue one time and it was because one of my items was missing. There's one guy who works late at night & I don't know his name but if he's not there, it's just not the same lol The food is always hot when I pick it up & it's good so I can't really complain. Came to pick up the what was well over a $100 order on a Saturday morning around 11 am. I understand it most likely wouldn't be ready right when I got there. But here's a detailed description of what happened and I hope all who choose to dine here read this: Waited nearly an hour to receive the order and in that time I saw maybe 20-50 people with small to large orders come in after me and all who got their orders before mine. Maybe it's reasonable if small orders were ready first but small and large orders were both done before mine. After nearly 45 mins, I spoke to an African American gentleman at the front who informed he was a manager and I told him that I thought this was unreasonable and he proceeded to get very defensive and try to undermine me and tell me I just have wait. He then proceeds to argue with me about this and I ask him if he's arguing and he says yes in a very demeaning tone. I then proceed to ask to speak to the overall manager of the restaurant to about 3 different employees with the store manager taking about 10 mins to come out. The store manager was probably a 40-50 something year old white woman who proceeded to tell me that I was engaging in argumentative behavior with the other manager which I wasn't and she proceeded to use intimidation and threats because I explained this was unreasonable that I had to wait an hour when other were getting their food long before me. Moral of the story: This location is poorly run, has no clue how to manage orders, and treats guests like garbage. Go somewhere else if you want to enjoy this kind of food. read more

I got the Buffalo chicken melt with fries. Kinda skipped the traditional breakfast meal on this one today. I was expecting my dish to come out hot and it was like warm. The slices of bread were a bit soggy. The Buffalo sauce wasn't too great. The pickles weren't too necessary but they added a small crunch than the "fried chicken". It also came with some sprinkled shredded cheese. Wasn't too much of a fan. The fries were good tho. Lightly seasoned and a good crisp to them. Typical IHOP atmosphere but above average service! Our waitress, Kay, was so nice and attentive to every need we had. I unnecessarily drank 13 glasses of water and she brought me refills almost immediately. As for the food I tried the chicken and pancakes and it was a delicious combination. The crunch of the crispy chicken mixed with fluffy pancakes is enough to make you mouth gasm, which is saying a lot for a restaurant like IHOP. If you're not feeling the KBBQ or bar food, this place will fill you up! I've been going to this location for years now and it never fails to have great service and consistent breakfast food. Located in the same plaza as Sweet Hut, there's plenty of parking and it's really easy to spot from Pleasant Hill. My favorites to get that'll fill you up are the omelets and breakfast combo plates. The recent burgers they added on the menu are decent as well. If you have a sweet tooth, definitely don't pass on the pancakes as IHOP is known for.
