I have been to the Sandy Springs location several time so I knew the food would be excellent, which it was. However, that is the only positive thing I can say about the experience. It was extremely and uncomfortably cold inside. I know restaurants keep the A/C turned down so customers will eat and leave, however, this was ridiculous. The service was poor at best. The wait time for the server to take my order was excessive. After I was seated, other servers passed by my table several times, however, no one even acknowledged I was there or let me know someone would be with me shorty. After about 10 minutes, someone finally came over and took my order. It was about another 20 minutes before the food arrived. Again, no one said anything as to why it was taking so long. The restaurant was not busy at all. By that time, my lunch hour was more than half way over so I ate quickly and waited for the bill which never came. I finally had to get up and walk over to the bar and ask for the bill. I paid and left. Again, the food was excellent but because the temperature was so cold and uncomfortable and the service was so bad, I will never go back to that location. This is my second time here and my low expectations were unfortunately not met. Our plates took about 30 minutes to come out. Never got a chance to eat here. Walked in and there was no one at the hostess stand. Two workers saw me and then either disappeared into the kitchen or continued other tasks. BAD SERVICE!! Came in on Valentine's Day morning to get breakfast. The waitress was rude, sat us at a dirty table. Asked for the table to be wiped off because it was sticky and had crumbs all over it. The waitress got angry and annoyed and stormed off. I don't know if it was the fact that day they were understaffed or the fact maybe she didn't have a Valentines Day date but I refuse to pay for bad service. First things first. There is a wait on Sunday mornings. We arrived and waited about 35 minutes for a table. The host was friendly and had a great attitude. Once seated, our server quickly came and took our drink orders. We just had water and a Coke (I ordered Coke Zero but got regular Coke, after reminding the server that I asked for Coke Zero when she repeated it back, but she wasn't super attentive so I couldn't get it changed out. I also was never offered a refill), but our friends got espresso, one iced and one hot. The hot one is a HUGE mug. It's not sweetened at all, so you do have to add your own sweetener. I had the Florida sunrise breakfast and my partner had the chicken and waffles -- which should be named chicken and waffle since theres only one, but I digress. Let's start with the waffles. They are super light and fluffy, thick Belgian style waffles. They're not too sweet (I honestly prefer a sweet cream waffle). There's syrup on the table, or you can order the honey butter chicken and waffle. My partner said the chicken is crispy and juicy. You only get three tenders. It isn't a huge amount of food for the price (about $16) and he was still hungry after. It would make more sense for this to come with a side item of some kind like eggs and potatoes or grits. There's a version of the dish that has eggs added but it would just make sense to have a side still, I think. On to my meal, which was the same exact price as his. I got a waffle topped with fruit, eggs, grits, a biscuit, and chicken sausage. We were not fans of the sausage. It's very dry. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the grits were so creamy. The waffle was delicious but the fruit is out of season so not the best quality. Overall, I'd pick my meal again but my partner wouldn't choose his again. It's very loud in here so if you're wanting somewhere to go that's quiet and you can have a nice conversation, this ain't it. There's people talking all around and kids crying and screaming. But it was a Sunday morning and it was busy. I'm sure it's not always like that. Lastly the service was severely lacking. We weren't given straws at first, and like I said, our server wasn't attentive at all so we never even got refills on our drinks, and I don't even think she checked back to make sure our food was okay. I have been here four or five times now and each time it goes down. For a place called the flying biscuit. I possibly had the worst biscuit I have ever had dry and hard . Sadly, pretty dreadful. Bacon was full of fat. It always feels like they are running on skeletal staff. Nothing seems organized. The room seems very live and it's pretty noisy. It would be great if they could add some noise canceling foam to the ceiling and some other items to absorb some of the noise it just doesn't make for a relaxing breakfast but honestly until they approve the food, I don't think I'll be back. read more

TLDR: service and decorations are fantastic, but food was just okay. Food: I ordered the southern scramble with grits and fried green tomatoes. It was my first time having fried green tomatoes and it was okay. I could be wrong, but I think the green tomatoes could be chopped smaller. The big slices made it likely for everything to fall apart. Southern scramble and grits were good. Consisted of yummy bacon and collard greens! Never thought collard greens could be incorporated in such a nice way. Biscuit was okay, but I think KFC might be better tbh. Went on Labor Day Monday, so needless to say the staff was very busy! Great trendy place for breakfast. The grits were silky cheesy smooth, I had Chicken butter biscuits, it was delicious and very filling. My husband had breakfast tacos, we could not finish, took home half for breakfast tomorrow. The scramble was a bit bland and did not come out as expected. I didn't expect bits of salmon in my scramble... however, the grits were probably one of the only good things that came out of my meal. It was flavorful and savory. The hash did not have much chorizo on it, so that was disappointing. As a huge fan of biscuits, I had to try this place. They didn't serve me buttermilk biscuits, but their biscuits are sprinkled with sugar and was bland (not a huge fan). I feel like if I had gotten something more sweeter, like pancakes or french toast, I would have a better review. Although here at noon, we had a taste for breakfast. Their reviews are very mixed, but we wanted to try for ourselves. I did see most of the negative reviews were regarding staff issues, and very few complained about food. At first impression, It's a cute place. It does appear they are either short staffed, or suffer from weak processes. Many tables were empty, but still full of dishes and such from last person dining there. We were seated quickly, and our server, Maya approached with a smile. Food arrived hot, and as we ordered. Wife ordered a veggie omelette, and I ordered Georgia peaches and cream breakfast. Wife said hers was very good. Mine was pretty good as well. I was a fan of the chicken sausage, and the grits. Oddly, the biscuit seemed rather dry to me. Wife liked it, as a fair contrast. Waffle was good, and peaches and cream topping was tasty. Although not five star worthy, I'd probably come here again just to try the "dirty bird waffle". The fourth star was deducted for the lack of clearing tables in a timely fashion. One table near us remained full of stuff from previous visitor until our food arrived.
