Stopped by here on our way home from the IMPACT Conference @ Woodlawn Church in Columbia. It was one of the few restaurants open at the late hour so we gave it a shot. Some of the folks were great. The gentleman who met us at the door and helped us in, right as the rain started to pour, was wonderful. He stopped by a couple of times to check on us, even though he was not our server. Our server, on the other hand, decided that since we were about the only other group there, he didn't need to make sure we were taken care of. Our drinks went without being refilled, from empty for about 10 minutes while we were eating. Finally saw him chatting away with a person in the back dining area and not really paying attention. Our food sat on the bar for a good 2 minutes before he realized it was up and that was only because someone got his attention. Now, having been a server I can understand the boredom that comes with little to no people and rainy nights, but that is no excuse to ignore customers. I did tip him, cause again I understand, but his tip would have been better if he chose to pay just a little more attention. I try to eat healthy whenever I can. I went here for one thing, and that was the whole wheat menu items. After waiting to get a table, I looked at the menu, and decided on the whole wheat waffles. I placed my order with the waitress (Terry B.) and was informed that they were out of whole wheat batter. She then went on to inform me that meant they could not offer wheat pancakes or crepes also. I should have left then, but instead stayed and searched the menu for a healthy breakfast that they could serve. Mind you, 90% of the options have already been eliminated. I decided on the SIMPLE & FIT Two-Egg Breakfast - Scrambled egg substitute, two strips of turkey bacon, whole wheat toast and seasonal mixed fruit. I wish they would offer an egg white meal instead of an egg substitute. Long story short, Terry was accommodating and attentive. It was not her fault that the kitchen was out of batter. Other than that, it was just a disappointing experience. I doubt I will every go back. read more

IHOP is IHOP, but they have some differences. The good: they cooked my scrambled eggs pretty much the way I like them. The French toast was good. They brought out hot old-fashion syrup without me asking. The not-so-good: I didn't have silverware until I had already been served. The toast has little butter, if any. The hash browns were over cooked. The waitress rarely stopped by to check on things. read more

I walked in and it was chaotic. Very over crowded. There is so much tension between the workers!! The lady at the front continues to yell at her coworkers across the restaurant and it is making me uncomfortable. My food was fine, I got chicken and waffles. I have eaten at this particular IHOP several times over the years, and I have become more and more disappointed. The utensils are always dirty! The food is mediocre to say the least, and the building is outdated!!! The floors and walls are cracking and the ceiling looks like it has mold on it. However, there was a bright lining to this experience. The young man who bust the tables was awesome. He was fast, friendly, courteous. He is the only reason for the two stars. read more

My husband and I had not been here for awhile so decided to go last night. What a mistake!!! We saw a sign out front that said "New Owner" so thought that might be interesting. It was never a great dining experience but food was always good and inexpensive. We were immediately herded away from the main dining room to a much smaller dining area with everyone else who was eating at that moment. (It was a hot July night, so why not put 20+ people all in one small room like sardines in a can?) You could hear the voices of a louder table echoing over the rest of us like a bullhorn, reverberating off the smaller rooms walls. It took about 5 minutes to have the waitress come take our order. Then it took a very long time to actually get our order - almost 25 minutes!! My husband ordered a breakfast platter, I got a hamburger, we both hot I sweet ice tea. The tea was delivered in a glass about 7" tall, about 5 ice cubes, the rest tea - watery tea. My husband's sausages were burned, the hash browns were burned, the pancakes served on a plate the same size as the pancakes (where Will the syrup go, I wonder?) My hamburger was okay but the onion rings were burned. We got the bill - $31.00 for this burnt meal!!! You have to be kidding!!! Upon inspection of the bill, each class of tea water was $3.99!!!! We were just shocked!!! The entire meal was horrible!! From the tiny dining room to the burnt meal to the price. Horrible!!! Save yourself and go anywhere but here or just stay home and make yourself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. You'll be glad you did!!! read more

I have been coming to IHOP since I was a kid! I like that they have not changed their signature International Pancake Breakfast. This is why I keep coming back. This location is particularly busy on weekend mornings. Expect a 10-20 min wait. The waiting area is quite uncomfortable as well so bring something to occupy you from the limited space, screaming children, and pangs of hunger. Waiter service at this joint was expeditious and pleasant. Definitely made up for the wait! read more

Awful! I visited this I hop about 2 months ago. Writing a review because the Manager was a total D bag he never addressed any issues and couldn't even add my bill to the correct amount. I was overcharged $3.00. Manager talked down to my server like she was scum and wouldn't even answer her when she asked a simple question. I contacted the store on a Monday and asked for the owner to return my call. The owner was not concerned at all and never bothered to call or refund my overcharge on the bill. Not to mention this place was FILTHY , a fly was in the window sill and we had dirty silver wear and cups... Bathroom looked like a nasty truck stop. I can only imagine what's in the kitchen!!!! AVOID this FIlthy eatery... owners could care less. read more

As long as your aren't expecting gourmet food, IHOP is always a reasonable breakfast standby. Our service was great, though the time from ordering to receiving meal was slightly longer than expected. Other than this hiccup, everything was great, including southern service and hospitality. read more

Hot and Miserable Restuarant! Yet the food and service is great. With improvement in the temperature of the Restuarant it would be perfect. But don't get dressed for church and go there or plan on going anywhere afterwards because you are going to sweat. read more

They have a "B" rating. Its overcrowded & everything is wet. The server took forever to take our order only to find out they are out of certain items. With allergies they couldn't accommodate us, so we left. The Staff is unprofessional looking & place looks under kept. Will not be returning. read more

Sorry IHOP in Hattisburg, but this is indeed the dirtiest IHOP I have ever walked into. It smelled sour as soon as you walk in. Like sour milk, or a stinky dirty kitchen wash cloth? You know that smell... The people were very friendly, but it was insanely small, and people literally running into on another other trying to get to and from the restroom-oh my the restroom and the walk to the restroom....everything smelly and dirty. No thanks! We will not be back-and my husband and I love stopping in at IHOP while traveling for a nice breakfast...we very disappointed.. read more

I'm usually a big fan of this place but not today. We asked for a table big enough to seat five and the hostess obliged. We ordered drinks and were waiting on two people in our party. She brought our drinks but i had no silverware . The place was busy so i waited a couple of minutes. I then see her up front complaining to the owner and gesturing at our table. She never returned to our table but the manager immediately seated 4 other people at one of the reserved tables saying they needed it for waiting customers. He never said anything else. I was done with this place at that point. We left our drinks and walked out. I worked in the food service industry and I understand servers need to keep tables turning to make money. This was very unprofessional and could have been addressed better. No apology was offered nor an explanation. read more

This location is in need of some TLC. 1st star goes to our waitress Amber-she was really upbeat and personable. The 2nd goes to the older gentleman Russell who was bussing tables-very polite and turned over tables quickly. I took away the other 3 stars for: 1) Only one bathroom which happened to be broke after I waited so long to use it (I had to go to McDonalds down the street to use theirs). 2). The food was not like other IHOPs I've been to 3) Water leaked from the ceiling onto our table and we had to move. Please give this location a well needed makeover. read more

He was very polite. we sat down at our table, as we were given the menus. before we ordered another one of our friends joined us from another table. He didn't like his orange juice, so he told the waitress named Ashley. she stated with an attitude," just sit it on the table, i've got to take their order!" as my friends were telling Ms. Ashley what they wanted she continued to give an attitude. now, i understand that she might be stressed or maybe just not having a good day, but that truly does not give her an excuse for an attitude towards costumers. now, again i say, i don't know what goes on in her life, but i truly hope it gets better. read more

I think this place needs a serious change in management. I went once and the cashier threw my receipt in the trash can without offering it to me. I shared with her that I needed a copy of the receipt. The lady proceeded to get the receipt out of the trash can and handed it to me. I shared with her that I was disgusted by the gesture and asked to see the manager. The manager came over to me and told me to take the receipt or deal with it. This IHOP was packed to the brim with people everywhere. Every person, customer & worker, was running into something or someone on the way somewhere. The waitresses began to argue about something, telling each other to, "hush up!". Overall, the service was pretty bad, the waitress only came by to give drinks & take orders (probably because the place was so dang crowded), but the food did taste pretty normal for an IHOP. Also, there was just too much yelling for a normal person's ears to handle. But, I will say, the people are very nice and genuinely try to serve you their best. read more

I went to this IHOP several times when I was in college at William Carey University and thought that it was pretty good. Recently my wife and I decided to try it again and went, but were sadly disappointed. The first thing I noticed upon sitting down was the high quantity of flies constantly buzzing around. The whole time I was eating it felt like the flies were just looming, waiting for their opportunity to strike. When the food came out there was a hair in my eggs, so they obviously had to take the food back. My wife said the buttermilk pancakes were good, but the Swedish crepes I got were very disappointing. There was no lingonberry flavor on the crepes only a few shriveled berries.The lingonberry butter that was supposed to be on them tasted just like regular butter and the crepes were soaked in it. The grease was literally dripping off the food. The eggs just tasted off. Neither my wife nor I could figure out what the flavor was, but it was unlike any egg I have ever eaten and not a flavor easily digested. I only barely was able to gag them down after they were drenched in hot sauce. We left very unsatisfied and had to go to another restaurant to get a decent end to our breakfast. read more

I've eaten here many times since my 2013 review, and the experience was always the same, so no need for an update, 4 stars all the way. But these past 2 times have just been exceptional. As is typical with most older IHOP restaurants the square footage is minimal, so due to the popularity of this particular IHOP, do expect a wait for a table. There is a reason this place is always crowded for breakfast, it's because the food is always good, the service is always exceptional, and all of this is due to one or both of the owners being present at all times. What made today and the previous visit worth a 5th star you may be asking? It was the way the owner kept coming back to all of us waiting for tables to speak to us and reassure us all was running smoothly and we'd be seated soon. There is ALWAYS a line for breakfast thru lunch on the weekends, but the wait is never as long as they estimate, things just run that smoothly. Went this morning. The cashier asked me who's with me, I said 3 of us but the 2 are coming in 5 mins. She said to standby and I did. Then the manager asked me how many people, I said 3 of us. He showed me the table and when I was almost about to sit, he said where are your friends? I said they are parking the car right now while I was on the phone with my friends. The manager said, " Oh ma'am, I'm sorry, I can't let you take the table because your friends are not here....I said" what the Fuck?" " You have to go, Ma'am. That's very-very rude. Oh my, I have been so many restaurant and this manager were so rude to me. I didn't get a chance to sit and I was embarrassed by the manager as well and all the people were looking at me , so I decided to leave the place.
