This review is for takeout during COVID and their IHoppy hour specials. We couldn't find the tab to order the hoppy hour specials online for this location although other locations had it available online to order. So we stopped by to see if they were offering the deal and yay they are! The lady working said it will be over next week though and they're switching to a new deal. Service was fast and friendly. Our food was ready within 10 minutes and the cashier gave everything we needed including all the condiments in a separate bag and she said to check and see if we needed/wanted anything else. We forgot to ask for the boysenberry syrup, since she already gave us 5 prepackaged regular maple syrup. For $6, the Hoppy hour deals are great! We got a ham and cheese omelette that comes with 3 pancakes and the pancakes and chicken. The omelette was huge and had a lot of ham both on top and inside! Definitely worth $6 especially since it comes with pancakes. Their chicken tenders are also really tasty and have a good seasoning in their batter. Also served with sauce, we chose ranch. At IHOP you can't go wrong with their pancakes. They were big and fluffy circles of delicious carbs! Will definitely be back again before the specials end! read more

We came here a few months ago and ordered pancakes. It was very obvious the portion size was reduced compared to the previous years. We decided to go here again and the food quality was even worse. My turkey sandwich portion was ridiculously small. The last time I came, I had leftovers. This time, I left hungry. The French toast with fruit sauce tasted artificial like merichino cherries. The price is not worth it considering how small the portion sizes are. You can tell the portion size shrank by comparing the calorie count on a newer menu vs an older menu. read more

I've been to a few IHOP, but I've never seen a that's as busy as this one. Located off Calavaras Blvd in Milpitas, this spot is popping. Customer service: super tentative and quick to get you in and out. Perfect for those who need to get some food and get out to do Silicon Valley Things. Food: as always meal plus pancakes. This season was their winter season flavors so the choices were, pumpkin spice, cranberry vanilla, and winter wonderland. As with most diners, the choices for vegetarians are limited but super yummy. I went to ihop a few days ago and I forgot to review the service! My friend and I went to catch up on her hood news so we celebrated at iHOPPY Hour! love the happy hour mixed with their name! Anyways it was Ihoppy hour and we had mozzarella sticks for an app, the. She hat the club sandwich with onion rings and I had the quick2-egg breakfast with sausage and sourdough bread. Our server was Luis who was one of 2 servers and was so attentive, courteous and friendly. Our food was at a great price and was delicious. I ordered the sunny side eggs but I realized I didn't like it but it wasn't iHop's fault it was my choice I should have gotten scrambled. But nonetheless the food was good. My friend she had the club but wished it was toasted more and it only had mayonnaise condiment and she should have asked for mustard with it she thought it would come with it but it's her fault for not asking I know sandwiches you have to ask. We had a party of 4 and we came around 10:30 AM on a Sunday. It was pretty busy, but we were seated in about 30 minutes. Not too bad of a wait. It took awhile for our server to take our order, but I think the lead/supervisor/manger noticed that we have been waiting and reminded our server. Look as far as IHOPs go this one is the best one Ive ever been to. The service was efficient, quick, and friendly. Everything in our order was correct. The server we had checked on us regularly. It was really busy and we waited 15 min but they made sure to get people fed quickly! I hadn't had IHOP in a while and was craving some carbs - this place hit the spot. Beware if visiting after 10pm... Stopped in last night (Saturday) was never given "welcome to IHOP"... One person was waiting for a to go order there was another couple in front of us... And the young man who was a "greeter" I think was very much not knowing what to do .. He took the cash for the to go, told those in front of us it would be 5 minutes ... Still not acknowledging our presence. .first couple was seated .. he back and told us it would be 5 minutes .. as he could seat people as there was only 1 server... Funny we saw two, and 6 seated tables... We were seated and it took him 3 times to get our water order... As he kept being confused... And he immediately seated another couple... The third couple got their order taken first... Then they came to us... We suggested they wait on the first couple... Bottom line... All three orders were turned in at the same time, and we're delivered in the order taken versus seated .. The system you are currently using to hire, train, staff is broken!!! Oh and did I mention as soon as a plate appeared done, it was taken with no "are you finished", and the bill presented with no "was there anything else...." Simple communication among your staff would do wonders ... And perhaps understanding staffing needs throughout the day... Didn't realize it recently that I don't have any iHops near by. This was the nearest iHOP. When it's weekend and you crave pancakes for breakfast, distance is not a problem. Thanks to the many yelp reviews, I didn't make the mistake of going for a dine-in. I ordered online and pickup time was just 15 mins. And it took me more than 20 mins to even reach there. lol. When I arrived, surprise, surprise - no parking available. I can see many people walking to the near by shopping complex carrying food. I opted for the same. The wait line was really long and it was crowded outside. But hardly had to wait to pick up the food. Friendly staff, checked the order and I was on my way out in no time. Mexican Tres Leches Pancakes, Strawberry Banana French Toast and Hash Browns - small breakfast. Mexican Tres Leches Pancakes is one of my favorites at iHop. I don't go for any other pancakes, if it available. And it was perfect. Really loved the French Toast as well. All the sugar was compensated by the Hash Browns. Damn, I missed the coffee. Every item was good and hardly anything to complain. Really enjoyed the breakfast; but I am looking forward to a dine-in experience soon. I really liked the location, ambience and of course the food. Ihop is a reasonable yet simple American diner to get some good food. You can just come here with a 10$ bill and enjoy quality dining. Although a small restaurant, the menu is quite large from breakfast to dinner. I ordered the super fruity pancakes and I liked it. Although it was a bit rich on fruit, it was decent and worth the buy. Another time I ordered chicken crepes with cheese, I genuinely enjoyed that dish as I never had a crepe entree before. A Classic American restaurant is what this place is. I recommend trying pancakes for dinner at least once for a twist when planning a visit in the future. In the mornings especially on weekends, there are always people crowding outside. I recommend coming to the place at any time past 3 PM. read more

I haven't been to IHOP in years and forgot how good their food is! I came by the restaurant with new fiance last weekend for some breakfast at night. I ordered the 2x2x2 which is probably my favorite on the menu. It comes with two pancakes, two sausages, and two eggs. Yumm!! My fiance had the country fried steak and eggs. The meals came out quick and they were delicious. Their pancakes are just the best. They are so soft and warm and are the best with all their different flavors of syrup. My favorite is the boysenberry syrup. Also the steak and eggs were amazing as well! Service is quick. Our waiter was very nice. He was very good about refilling our waters. We went to IHOP on Sunday around 5:00pm as we came back from a day of whale watching by Monterey Bay. It was my son's birthday and he gets to pick where we go out for dinner and he picked IHOP so off we went. We stopped at this Milpitas location because we were too hungry to wait to get to their Union City location. The place wasn't that busy, maybe, because it was too early for dinner. We were greeted and quickly seated. This was our first time at this location and the place is roomy and the restrooms are clean. My husband got the Steak Burger Cowboy with fries ($14.99), I got the Big Steak Omelette ($14.99) with a side order of TresLeches pancake ($2.99) and my son got the Bacon Temptation Omelette with a side order of hash browns ($14.19). Omelettes come with a free side order (buttermilk pancakes, hash browns, etc.) but you have to pay an extra $2.99 for the specialty-flavored pancakes which I did but I don't think it's worth $2.99 because I couldn't really taste much difference between the buttermilk and the TresLeches pancakes that I chose and paid extra for. I should've just gotten the buttermilk pancakes. Overall, my husband enjoyed his burger, my son loved his Omelette (he likes bacon a lot!) and I was shocked that he finished it and his hash browns. I like my Steak Omelette too but, my eyes were a lot hungrier than my stomach was because I couldn't finish mine and my husband was nice enough to finish it up for me. The only thing we took home was the TresLeches pancakes since we were stuffed. We sat at a booth which only came with two sets of utensils. I had to get my kid to grab one set from the empty table across from us. It did take a bit longer to get our water and Diet Pepsi refilled since the server didn't come around much. We kinda had to flag her down as she walked past us. Overall, this place is nice and have friendly workers. Horrible experience for dine-in today at this milpitas location. I got first time order coupon for free full stack of pan cakes. And the waitress just put the bill on the table when we were still eating which shows that we are not welcome there. I believe this is racist behavior because we were the only ones to be treated like that because my skin color is black, I saw each and every one on other tables and no one were served bill while they were still eating. And in my case my wife was feeding my kid pancakes and she really felt bad. Is this for real guys ? This is disrespectful, don't give us coupons if you don't respect people thinking that I am a homeless or looking for free stuff. While leaving I spoke to staff and asked to charge me full bill and don't need your free stack of pancakes but they didn't and rather gave further discount which I never asked for. I got the confirmation that it will be ready at 0918. I get there at 0931, worried that my food would be cold. I mentioned to the hostess that I had a pick up for me, and she just brushed me off saying itll be ready in a few minutes. Now its 0950, almost an hour since I ordered so I again asked if my order would be almost ready, and so she finally took a look around. No order. Looked in the back. No order. She then asks if I was in the right location. I showed her my email confirmation. Food was never received. They then retake my order with no service recovery on how they will make it right. Now I have to wait another 10-15 min with nothing to show for their mistake. I mean, I ordered directly on ihop.com, not doordash or ubereats, yet the people who ordered on these 3rd party get theirs before me. Finally got my order at 1012. I get you guys are busy during breakfast. I mean you guys are a pancake spot. I wish I could give zero stars. It was practically abandoned when we went, evening, so we were hype thinking it was going to be an easy/decent meal. Our server was also the supervisor (this is relevant later on) so I was expecting good service at the bare minimum. We order and wait a bit for our drinks, no biggie, we're chilling and making conversation. The food comes. One meal has cold hash browns and stale toast. Aight, it's still food tho. One meal is burnt cinnamon paste on pancakes. The cinnamon sauce is horrible, completely inedible, it tastes so old that I'm not sure it's been made this week. Literally not food. I flag down the waitress and ask if I can have regular pancakes instead, I tell her to try the cinnamon sauce because something is wrong with it- it needs to be checked, like don't serve this to anyone. She says sure and jets off to the kitchen with the gross plate. I'm thinking it takes what... three or four minutes to flip 5 pancakes into a stack at a literal pancake restaurant? Nah. Everyone else at the table is finished eating and my food still hasn't come. We ask for a box for my kid's leftovers and the check. She brings the check and the pancakes in a to-go box. I'm like ah yeah, nah, I don't want these. I ate some of my table's food since my food wasn't coming before we were ready to leave. She tries to charge me $13 on the check for the cinnamon pancakes I sent back but has boxed up a stack of regular pancakes to go? The regular pancakes are $10, not $13. I'm not a Karen but now you're keeping the pancakes and I'm keeping my money. When I ask for the manager to return the boxed pancakes and have my meal taken off the check, it's our girl. She ROLLS HER EYES. Like dude, your kitchen produced nasty food and then took like ten minutes to put up a stack of regular pancakes?? Nah. Not having it. So she grabs the pancakes and walks off in a huff to fix the check and I leave exactly zero dollars as a tip. You don't have to kiss my butt however a simple "I'm sorry" would have gone a long way in this interaction. When i dont know where else to eat for lunch when im at work.. i just come here. Ive always been a fan of iHop.. just because it has breakfast foods all day.. but this one made me sad... The other day, i tried one of their new griddle melts since it caught my eye. I got half of the western griddle melt with fruit on the side (one of their combos). The bread came out crunchy and soft... but the inside itself lacked a lot of flavor. I'm not the type of person who douses their food with hot sauce or pepper or anything...... BUT DAMN. i put a lot of hot sauce and ketchup (for the eggs hehe) and a dab of pancake syrup, to get anything besides bland egg and bread in my mouth. The sauteed green peppers? barely -- you can get a better bigger one at Subway for cheaper and they pack in a lot more of a punch. Customer service was terrible.. When i first walked in, i walked around and tapped my feet for like 5 minutes trying to get their attention from the kitchen... and when the guy came to get me, he asked me what i wanted... UHHH what about a table i could sit and eat at?? Came in during the weekend for a late late dinner. Was very surprised to see a filled lobby and a short wait of about 15 min. Looked forward to try to new burgers of IHOb. The burger menu itself, if I recall had about 6-7 burger choices. The mega burger was the intended burger. When it arrived, it was rather small for a "mega" burger. It was taller, but maybe as wide as a regular grocery store size hamburger bun. The usual suspects were in burger, tomatoe, lettuce, onion, pickle chip. The patty was thicker and server said all burgers are cooked to medium rare, so if you want it further cooked, you'd have to ask server. The bottom bun was very moist as it caught the burger juices, but be careful as it can turn soggy and fall apart as you enjoy your burger. The meat patty was juicy, seasoned well, not salty ;), had a more steak like flavor, than regular burgers. Other platter ordered was a country fried steak. It had mixed reviews. The country fried steak was a good average size (regular size of a Black Bear diner regular paw size, not the big foot size). Somewhat over fried, but tolerable, white gravy was good (but I love w/ lots of black pepper), hash browns were simple, golden and yummy. Fried eggs were cooked to over medium, which I requested. The accompanying (3)'pancakes were as wide as a coffee saucer. It arrived barely warm, that butter ball did not melt. I have to say out of the four pancake syrups on table, the boysenberry was my fav. (The other 3 were old fashioned, blueberry and strawberry) Service was a tad slow from taking drink order, to receiving drink order. When it's this slow, we ordered the 2nd fries (which are unlimited with burger) when burger arrived, just to make sure we had more coming. Fries were good, but best eaten when it arrives.
