    Ravioli and steak

Check in: you check in at the hostess area and are offered a beverage while you wait for a table, there is walk-up bar seating downstairs. Service: our servers and food runners were super nice and welcoming, especially since it was our first time, table of 7 and had a ton of questions, she suggested items but was patient when we had other questions. Drinks: delicious, refreshing and non-alcoholic options available as well as coffee and tea. Food: so many options, we went for the seafood tower sampler and the Ravioli Blanco (may have misspelled) with added steak, delicious and my steak was cooked as ordered and delicious! The fish tacos were surprisingly delicious too! Had the tap that cake, which after I finished realized I didn't take picture but you just try it and tap it!!! Order to know what that means! Ample seating, great vibe and music and awesome food and service. Well deserved 5 stars!

Very stylish and cool spot to grab a drink or full on dinner. I love that they're one of the few places open late at Valley Fair, it's surprising how many other spots close early. You're always greeted with complimentary speaking wine or tea which is such a simple yet impactful gesture. Downstairs is an elegant area for dinner, while upstairs is more lively for bar seating and TV watching. They also have a fantastic happy hour deal. I appreciate that all their drinks feel quite generous!

Had reservations I booked out over a month in advance and unfortunately we were seated on the patio on the first floor. We did have a stroller so that was probably the reason, but wish we were seated inside as the tables were very high. We went on Father's Day during lunch and it was definitely busy. Service was alright. I did have to flag down my server twice to ask for more water. We ordered the Coconut Smash and the Old Fashion. Both drinks were good. The Coconut Smash was very sweet and didn't taste like alcohol but I did enjoy it. We got the spicy crab dip and it was delicious. However, the dip itself was warm not hot and the bread was cold so it wasn't the best mix but loved the flavors. For entrees, I got the udon carbonara with the chicken katsu. It was delicious but half way through I realized it was a bit salty for my taste so I had to take breaks to finish the dish. My husband got the bone in rib eye steak and he loved it. He said the steak was tender and it was cooked pretty good - he got it medium rare. We also got an appetizer miso mushroom to eat with our entrees and it was good as well but leaned on the saltier side. Our server did say she put in a small dessert for my husband since it was Father's Day. We paid and waited for what felt like 15 minutes and it didn't come out and also our server was no where to be found so we just ended up leaving. I'd probably be back for a special occasion because I loved the ambiance. Overall, the food was good but thought it could be better based on the hype. I thought the quality was there and portions were decent but as someone going for good food, it was alright, not enough for me to return just for the food.

Was skeptical of the 5 star ratings but this restaurant truly delivers! We came here after the 408 race at Santana row and it was so good that we had to run it back for Father's Day. We made reservations ahead of time and I communicated through email and open table/text. They were super accommodating and communicative up until our table was ready. Loved how they asked if we needed high chairs. When our ressie time came up we were greeted with a drink--bubbly, NA wine, or a seltzer. Such a nice touch! We were then led into a private room which turned out to be a lifesaver because we had THREE toddlers. If not for the private room it would have been chaos, so we were infinitely thankful for that they stuck us in there, and I'm sure the gratitude goes both ways with the rest of the patrons. We were treated like royalty by Liz and her team. I felt like we had a parade of servers come in catering only to us, wow it was excellent service! Liz doesn't have a bad bone in her body; she was so sweet to us and especially my parents and the rowdy kids. Our experience could not have been better! This will definitely be our go-to celebration restaurant because there is something on the menu for everyone, and the service really is top notch. Well deserved 5 star review and this is coming from a well seasoned yelp elite--me, so my vote should count for like 25 votes.

3.5 rounded up Overall a very aesthetic trendy restaurant at Valley Fair with decent but somewhat overpriced food. I feel like you're def coming here and paying more for the ambience than the food quality. The complimentary drink at the front is a nice touch, and I loved that they had a non-alcoholic tea option. Service was friendly and attentive though the food was a bit slow to come out, even on a Thursday afternoon. I do have to note that the acoustics are not great and it was somewhat challenging/distracting to have a conversation. Also, parking at VF is always annoying and I wish the restaurants offered validation, esp at the prices they charge. Crab dip 3.5/5 - It was pretty good but I agree with other reviewers that it's nothing special and very similar to those sushi bakes you see on social media. It was also more solid and less gooey than I expected. The bread that comes with it is nicely toasted but I do have to say that as someone with sensitive oral mucosa, it did scratch up the roof of my mouth. Lobster pasta 4/5 - This was the highlight of the meal. Good portions, perfectly seasoned with well balanced flavors. There could always be more lobster but it was acceptable. I'm torn on whether it's worth the price though ($45). Steak and sushi 3/5 - This left a lot to be desired. I had read reviews saying they tend to overcook the steak and that was also true in our case. My friend did decide to say something, and the good thing is that they were kind enough to remake it. Despite being cooked better (actually medium rare), I don't think the standard cut they use is that good of quality (you can pay more to upgrade to other cuts). In terms of the sushi, you can pick from the various types on the menu. My friend chose the tuna and avocado. It was fine and flavors were decent bc of the sauce, but again quality wise, it's kind of mid/what you expect from an americanized restaurant.

Who doesn't like complimentary champagne? That was a nice touch. Everything was really good, more acquired tastes and I wouldn't say it was big on kid friendly (we didn't look at the kids menu). My 7 year old enjoyed the noodles, but didn't add the egg. The lettuce wraps are popular, but I didn't like how it was fried. The sushi/steak was good. There are many options and I will come back to try other dishes.

Wow, this place completely blew me away! The chef really worked his magic because the food was absolutely amazing. The carbonara udon was easily one of the best I've ever had, rich, and so satisfying. We also tried the crab dip appetizer, which was okay. It reminded me a bit of sushi bake, so it was familiar but not necessarily the standout of the meal. Our friends really enjoyed their dishes, especially the seafood and steak pasta. The truffle fries were great - crispy and super addictive. And the apple pie was amazing! Definitely one of the best I've tried. The staff was friendly, and the manager even stopped by to check on us, which was a nice touch. Overall, such a great experience and I'd definitely come back!

Looking over, I joked about walking up to crash an event for a private event for complimentary wine and tea and then getting carded. Hilariously, I was the clown, because these were complimentary to all the guests, as I later found out shortly after being seated, making a dash to double fist. Emily was our server this afternoon, and she took amazing care of us. I had their steak (medium rare) and lobster spaghetti, unsure of what to expect. The steak was very tasty and tender, just the right amount of seasoning with fat that just enough fat that melted in the mouth. The lobster was also tasty with the spaghetti, which was plated in a perfect little mollusk shell shape. Had I to guess upon recount, the spaghetti had a good bit of lemony zest, chopped garlic, and fresh herbs. And the tomatoes? A good sweet retreat palate cleanser. My party and I enjoyed our meal on the outdoor patio, a bit toasted by the heater which was soon turned off. Outside of the delightful lunch, my favorite memory was the perfect complimentary beverages. The tea was just the right level of sweetness, and the wine was a good, well-rounded crowd pleaser - loved it so much I had to snap it for the memories!

Oh Joey. I wanted to love you, but it just didn't happen! The menu leans heavily Asian, which is not a problem for me but might surprise some. Drink: - N/A Margarita: OK - No special sodas, just coke products Food: - bang bang chicken: pretty good - dumplings: I think they were trader joe dumplings with a crunchy bottom - filet mignon: ordered medium but got medium well. Really liked the mashed potatoes in the egg roll wrapper though! - lobster and steak spaghetti: ordered medium rare and got medium. It was OK and a little on the spicy side What I didn't love: - upon entry, they offer everyone a glass of bubbly while you wait. But nothing if you don't want alcoholic. Seems like you can at least offer a sparkling water or n/a bubbly - our waitress seemed very checked out. I ordered a second drink (glass of the Kim Crawford n/a wine). She took the order, but she never came back! Then turns out she went on break and that drink isn't even available outside of Canada. Not sure why it's on the menu? But either way, she didn't tell us. - Annoyed that these two staff guys (bus boys?) were just in the back corner of the restaurant giggling and flirting with the female staffers I get that this place has a really cool vibe but I don't think I'll be coming back.

TL;DR: Great date-night spot with a romantic atmosphere and thoughtful touches like complimentary food samples while waiting. Most dishes were enjoyable with only a few minor issues, making it a solid choice for an intimate dinner. -------- Full review: I came here a little before my 8 PM reservation, and the place was still very packed. While we were waiting, the staff brought out complimentary samples of food, which was a really nice surprise and tasted absolutely delicious. We were seated promptly at our reservation time, and the interior had a dimly lit, romantic atmosphere. The ambiance was immaculate and definitely created a nice setting for the evening. Now onto the food. I ended up ordering the following: Spicy Crab Dip: I enjoyed the flavors, although I was expecting a little more spice. The bread paired with it was nice and crispy. Kalamansi Lychee Cooler: Refreshing and citrusy with a good balance where you could actually taste the alcohol. Parmesan Truffle Fries: No complaints here. I actually ended up dipping some into the crab dip, which worked surprisingly well together. Steak & Sushi: The sushi tasted great. The steak itself leaned a bit on the saltier side, and I think the dish might have worked better if the sauce had been served on the side since it became a little overpowering. Overall, I thought this place was great for intimate get-togethers with only a few minor hiccups with the food. The atmosphere and overall experience definitely stood out and made it worth visiting.

I feel like I always miss the chance to dine in Joey Valley Fair, because whenever I walk past the place I'm always eating something or feeling full. But it has always been on my list, so I finally doordash to see what's the magic =)) So, what I had was truffle udon carbonara and seared salmon sushi. The carbonara was AMAZING!!! So creamy, eggy, garlicky, and I also appreciate that their udon noodles were not soggy. Seared salmon sushi was also great, though portion was a bit small, but the presentation and the taste just compensate for it ! They even gave me a complimentary gluten free brownie, which was delicious, moist and not too sweet and that was so generous of them! Love that! Overall, definitely a place I would go back and dine in person for the full experience!

    Ceviche
    Samantha C.

Checked out this place for a weekday lunch. What we got: Ceviche (3/5) -- a little too acidic and needed some salt, difficult to taste the scallop, mango worked well and shrimp was perfectly cooked Prime rib sandwich (3/5) -- the jus was very salty even with the horseradish, meat was tender and paired well with the bread Steak + Ravioli Bianco (3.5/5) -- solid seasoning on the steak, but difficult to enjoy since there was a lot of sinew in each bite. Ravioli and shrimp were perfectly cooked. Beurre blanc with the crispy fried onion was the highlight of the meal texturally and flavorwise I didn't catch her name, but our waitress (Indian, flawless makeup) was very friendly and attentive even as service picked up, frequently refilling our waters and didn't rush with ordering or the check. Food is solid, but may be difficult to justify the price. I would be open to returning if someone else is interested in eating here.

This place was outstanding! My friends and I had a really good time here. The drinks and food was amazing especially the pita and hummus, the udon carbonara with katsu chicken -- it's a must! However the server for our table was very slow and took time getting our orders and forgot our orders too, so it was a little frustrating. But overall the food was so good, so I will be definitely coming back!

We ordered both of the bruschettas in the starters section (honeycomb burrata and porcini pate) and I was a bit surprised they came on untoasted bread because I'd been picturing baguette slices. They were both tasty because it's hard to go wrong with an umami ingredient like pate but if I really think about it, both of these dishes were things anyone could throw together. There wasn't any special seasoning made by the restaurant or anything. For entrees, we ordered the Paris by night truffle lover bifteak (filet mignon with truffle cheese on sweet potato) which was just okay. We ordered medium rare but the entire thing was a bit chewy and slightly dry. Could taste the truffle on the Parmesan cheese when alone but not when eaten with the sweet potato. The Persian saffron gheymeh lamb ossobuco (lamb shank with stew and dill basmati rice) was delicious though! Lamb was incredibly tender and savory and the spiced split-pea saffron stew went well with the fluffy rice. We'll probably return to try the recommended cod and tiramisu because overall it was pretty good.

Kind, friendly, and super attentive in a way that elevated our experience. We also noticed that Alexis carried this same positive energy to all table. The food... I said . We started with a dozen raw and a 4-piece Rockefeller. The raw were delicious, little to no shell bits, but the Rockefeller... Wow! Suffice it to say that after we each had our first rockefeller, we promptly ordered a 1/2 dozen more. For drinks we went with a bottle of The decor is warm and intimate and there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Thanks to Alexis for excellent service, unfortunately unusual these days. I will be back!

It's such a cozy spot to hang out, and the vibe was perfect for a relaxed evening. The meatballs were especially delicious -- definitely recommend ordering them. What really stood out, though, was the service after my visit. I accidentally left my backpack there on Saturday and didn't realize until later. Even though they're closed on Sundays and Mondays, Tina went above and beyond to help me get it back. She responded to my email on Sunday and coordinated everything so I could retrieve my belongings. That level of care and responsiveness is rare and meant so much to me. I'm incredibly grateful and will absolutely be back. Great food, great wine, great music, and truly wonderful people.

The gentleman serving us, who was wearing a black Mexico jersey, took our table but then disappeared for an extended period of time and never checked back on us. He seemed disoriented and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. His behavior and demeanor made us uncomfortable and left us feeling neglected as customers. After waiting quite a while, I had to get up and ask another employee for assistance. I believe her name was Michelle. She was incredibly sweet, attentive, and helpful, and she did her best to turn the experience around. Her customer service was excellent and was the only positive part of our visit. That said, the service at the beginning was completely unacceptable. Management should address situations like this, as customers should not have to wonder whether employees are drinking while on the job.
