Ordered delivery from here one time for dinner. As ihop is well known for the pancakes I wanted to venture out and try out their other products. I went with their breakfast sandwich, mozzarella sticks, and cinnamon pancakes. Overall the food was sub par to my expectations. The breakfast sandwich tasted good but it was difficult to eat like a sandwich as it would keep breaking apart when you tried to hold it up. The eggs, cheese, and bacon inside of it were fine. The biscuit also tastes fine but wasn't anything special. The home fries that came with the sandwich were bad. Didn't have any taste to it and was slightly rubbery in texture. I ordered it to be crispy but it wasn't crispy. Also ordered a side of mozzarella sticks which weren't good. It was a bit rubbery and had no taste to it. The sauce that came with it was flavorless. The cinnamon pancakes though were really good. Light, buttery, delicious, and flavorful. I guess it is my fault for going to ihop and trying anything else other than their pancakes. I haven't been to IHOP in years but wanted some breakfast and didn't feel like going too far so decided my toddler and I would stop in here. Worst decision to start off my Saturday. We were seated right away which was cool, however, that was the last time we saw someone. Not one server walked over as we sat there for 40 mins. I tried to flag down one of the servers and he completely dismissed it. Kept on walking. I was finally able to get a server so I immediately asked for the manager. Before the manager, another server comes by and says "sorry for the delay" I tell him I am not eating but would like to speak with the manager. Eric Gonzalez, the manager comes out. He was "busy" with a system that wasn't working in the back and sorry for the wait. Super unhelpful and offered three $5 off coupons to use. I left the coupons on the table and left. Glad to see that an ihop finally opened in the North Brunswick area and it's in a strip mall. This ihop is open 24 hours which is great! We finally were able to give it a try and went late on a Saturday afternoon. It was pretty empty since it was an off hour and the waiter was quick with our order. I ordered the $9.99 breakfast special that came with any 2 flavored pancakes and a breakfast combo. So I ordered the cheesecake pancakes with scrambled eggs, Turkey sausage, and hash browns. My husband ordered the dance pancakes as well with fried eggs, sausages, and hash browns. We were excited to try the cheesecake pancakes since the menu described it was having cheesecake bites in it. Unfortunately, it was more like uncooked cheesecake batter as it was runny in the middle. I would of preferred actual cheesecakes bits. I would pass and get the regular pancakes. Also, it felt like the rest of my order shrunk. The portion definitely isn't as big as it used to be. I had ordered the hash browns to be made extra crispy but when they came out, they were undercooked. This is one of the cleaner locations, at least for now. terrible experience... ordered spinach & mushroom cheese omelette along with a few other breakfast meals for my family. Upon eating egg omelette i noticed a small hair in my food. I called my waiter to let him know the situation and let him know i would like them to remove that item off the bill. With-in 5 mins a manager ( bald head guy ) came to my table, very unprofessional, never gave his name or title , in which I didn't even know he was a manager until I asked for another manager. He asked what was the problem and i explained to him , while I was eating we found a hair in my food. He then asked to see the hair which i had on the napkin to show them, he immediately stated ( well its not one of our hairs ) and that he can offer me a discount. I refuse the discount and said honestly i dont care who hair it is, im not paying for that meal. He then stated he can make me a fresh omelette and I said no thank you, I told him I already lost my appetite. he then continued to offer a discount and i said no i dont want a discount I want my bill with that 1 meal removed. He then went on to say he not taking it off and if I dnt pay he will call the cops. To make a long story short, I never experienced such bad service especially dealing with hair being in food. I'm actually pretty patient and not one of those annoying customers. She brought us our check and we proceeded to wait about 15 min for her to come and get it so that we can leave. Our bill was initially $43.21. But she came but from ringing us up, I noticed she had charged me $53.21. She disappeared after returning my card and receipt to sign and I was in a rush so since she tried to be sneaky, she got no tip. If I could rate my experience it would be a zero. I never rate my experiences good or bad but today I'm compelled. Aside from the slow service which tbh wasn't a major issue my zero star experience felt at checkout was bizarre, unusual and questionable. Apparently the system went down was what we were told and they only are accepting cash. Ok things happen. The main issue is while we were seated, either before ordering or after ordering they experienced technical difficulties but never communicated this to us in advance of us asking for final bill. When my sister goes to pay w credit card they proceed to ask her to pay via cashapp, zelle, apple pay and or write her card info on paper...now I get things happen, but a business such as an IHOP expects a customer to just go along with it...and the owner/manager is not there just the employees. The employees get manager/owner on phone and they are basically demanding we pay by giving card details over phone??? Am I missing something or does this just sound off and abnormal? Then the person on the phone is saying something about calling the police. So I said. I'm happy to call myself as what is happening is to say the least weird and shades. I make it clear to employees there to not take it personal but the manner in which they are being directed is a red flag for any intelligent human being. Finally after almost 1 hour of waiting patiently to figure out how to securely pay our bill the manager/owner comes in w an attitude as if we are somehow inconveniencing him. There was no sense of being respectful towards a customer who didn't leave and not pay...instead he says doesn't need our money and proceeds to be defensive and rather than properly explain anything w sensibility says we can zelle him directly! Ok sir. No I'm not going to zelle an IHOP.. .I ended up having to go to an atm to pay. The level of business acumen and courtesy as a business owner was severely lacking. Then to add more: one of the workers said this very issue happens often. Note to employees: find another place to work. The second bit to add, I gave the server who took our order and gave her $100 cash toward bill of $85, and she gives me $5 back...Miss? Where's the rest of my change? She decided that maybe I wouldn't notice a whole $10 missing and decided to tip herself...I'm big on tipping service but not that way. And she played like she didn't realize she took the money. Please notice that the place was not crowded at all, only 3 more tables besides ours. First, the waitress did not understand the menu causing her to come back several times to ask about the same entree. When meals arrived she did not bring my daughter's hamburger- the rest of us were half meal when finally brought her hamburger just made...she had forgotten. She charged me for a side that was already included with my meal and needed help from other person to understand that and get it fixed. Ok, I'm ready to pay, there is no body around, so I decided to use the app to pay my check ( which is an option advertised on the sign on my table and in the check itself). As I'm getting in my car I see an employee coming to me, as I see her face I'm thinking, not possible...but yes, she was approaching to ask me if I had paid my check. The truth is that I was losing my patience so I told her, of course! Check your system. But by the look in her eyes it got the impression that she did not believed me so I decided to show her the evidence. She now explains the other waitress was in training and had ran to her to tell her that we left without paying. Now, I understand trainees can make mistakes but This girl made them all with us. Perfect Birthday breakfast! I received a coupon for my birthday from IHOP for a free stack of pancakes. Went there on a Sunday at noon, so the place was extraordinarily busy. Reservation card name system where people are given a file card with a celebrity name is ingenious and entertaining. It prevents mispronunciations and gives a certain level of anonymity. We were told there was a 10 minute wait and were seated in five. Friendly and helpful server, went and took our order within 2 minutes and the coupon was honored. Food was served within minutes and it was prepared so deliciously! During my time there I never heard a single dropped plate, spilled drink, or an angry customer. They handled the crowd effectively. No one was left asking for their waiter or their food. Looking around families were happy, smiling and enjoying themselves amidst a very crowded location. Tables were cleared shortly after people left. The staff there moved with a sense of purpose instead of trying to figure out what to do next. It was a wonderful experience start to finish and I think other locations could take a few hints from how this one operates. To the staff there, I would like to say you wear this chaos well! Manager was rude! customer service was awful. They do not allow you to place orders over the phone for pickup. The website doesn't give all options for ordering especially for those that don't eat pork so we had to get up and drive to the place to sit there for 30 minutes before we received our order to go.
