The food was overall solid and about what i expected but the service wasn't very good. My party was a total of 8 so i completely understand the food taking a while to come out but the fact that we were only served maybe 3 dishes every 5-10 minutes was ridiculous. it was overall maybe 35-40 minutes before all of the food came out and there was still a side of hash browns that had never come. The modifications on one of my guests pancakes came out completely wrong and she had to wait probably 30 minutes to be able to try and correct the mistake with the server. Usually if something like this happens the server or a manager apologizes for the inconvenience and we never received that. The server had also checked the tip at the table once i handed the check to him and i overall find that extremely disrespectful. I work in a restaurant too so im extremely understanding with a lot of the issues that arise in a restaurant but this was just inexcusable. over the course of the last 5 visits, our experience has gone from disappointed to never coming back to I really need to yelp this. there is almost never anybody to greet you when you come in. you almost always stand there waiting for at least 10 mins before somebody acknowledges you. your food almost always take an eternity to be served. food is either 'eh' or 'bleh' and drinks are seldom refilled this is management at it's worst. and you can definitely feel the staff are still working there only because they have bills to pay. note to self, NEVER GO BACK TO THIS LOCATION read more

Junk ass trash. IHOP was probably the nicest place in the 70s and 80s. But it seriously just is a premixed-predated and prepacked trash delivery. Coffee is probably the only reason this place will ever get more than 1 star. its halfway decent and caffeine properties are up to par with my additction. Outside of that, its always filthy, service is incredibly slow (or just straight abandoned) dishes/silverware never come out clean, food is mediocre to poor in quality and the bathrooms are always gross. Why is there even a wait for a place like ihop? its breakfast all day? I mean the only place worst than Ihop is Dennys and thats really crapping on Denny's, cause IHOP has pankcakes in their name and they probably don't even use the "just add water" kind of pancake mix. They probably water that down further because the pancakes truly have no taste. No maple syrup either.. just log cabin. and those other syrups are basically corn syrup with fruit flavorings added to them. I revisited Ihop in the past weekend out of convenience being next to BJs and all.. it was the first time in well over 10 years I had been to Ihop and reluctantly went. BLAH. UGH awful. That was after being ignored for what seemed like half an hour before we even were able to ORDER a coffee. I was attempting to take the trip out to try the new Framingham IHOP that just recently opened up about fifteen minutes down the road from here. Upon arrival, there was a line in the parking lot that was circling the building (looked like graduation week.... a busy time for IHOP, supposedly). I hadn't been to IHOP in years, and always remembered great experiences back at the one I used to frequent near my house. So, once finding out the forty five minute wait in Framingham, I called this location, as it isn't all too far away from that one. This IHOP is located in the Northborough Crossing complex right on Shops Way in Northborough, off Route 20 and Route 9. It's new, nice and an up-and-coming retail center. This restaurant is on a "pad" site near Qdoba and Dick's Sporting Goods with it's own parking lot. My first suggestion for anyone coming here at any time that may be thought of as "busy". Call ahead! Once I saw how long the line was in Framingham, I made a point to call this location and put my party's name on the list.... this location also had a wait (yet not as long). It had been such a long time since I had been to IHOP but the experience was fantastic. Even with the consistent crowd and wait here, the staff were competent enough to keep the food coming out fast, fresh and accurately. Everything was clean and the restaurant itself is well maintained and set up well. Lots of windows for light, and the entire dining room is nearly all booths (definitely preferred over tables for me!). Waitresses and other staff were all super friendly and my entire group was in and out of here in nearly 40 minutes! Prices are great, food is filling, and they have a new and attractive menu as well. Even though I was bummed not to be able to have a see inside the brand new Framingham IHOP, the experience here was great and I would come back if I was in the area again. 5 stars. read more

We usually have gone to Ihop in Shrewsbury. The food is always good but the wait is for ever during peak hours. We went to the Ihop in Northborough crossing in early dinner, 5ish. There were hardly anyone there. We sat down and shortly after ordered. After about 45 minutes or more, we left after drinking coffee. There was no food, no service and this IHop lover will never go back to Northborough again. read more

Let me start off by saying I have been out to eat here several different times and every time there is awful service. I understand that it's very busy, but it took over an hour for a simple breakfast order to come out. The waiter forgot about our drinks and only half of everyone's order came out. By far the worst experience at any IHOP in 20+ yrs. While waiting to be seated (party of 6), host made snarky remarks about customers who left because of the wait time. Host kept telling everyone coming in it was 10-15 minutes, when the actual wait time was truly 30+ minutes. The snarky remarks troubled me the most because as a type 1 diabetic looking to eat sooner than later because of a low blood sugar, I would know best how long I can truly wait to begin eating. The worst part of the experience came after we sat down after waiting 30+ minutes. We waited an additional 45 minutes to receive our meal. Normally, I would give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt if the place was packed. But, it was half-empty and they had plenty of wait staff. The wait staff seemed to be keeping up but the kitchen wasn't. The host made it worse because he didn't communicate with customers properly and honestly. In honor of my visit, family members wanted to gather for breakfast. I suggested the old Shrewsbury IHOP. Somebody else ran with my idea and suggested the shiny new IHOP that they had just finished building up on the hill in Northboro on Rt 20. I was okay with the change of venue. Part of the group had arrived early, so when I arrived with my portion of the family, we just walked right in. There was a big crowd in the waiting area. I guess new shiny IHOP is popular with the locals. It's not an old-school A-frame though. So, points off. (Just kidding IHOP) Greetings were had, waitress came over, greeted us, and handed us all menus. She left to get the beverages while we all perused the menu in somewhat-silence. Since my last IHOP pancakes weren't quite as stellar as advertised; I decided to try them again. This time I went with the pumpkin pancake deal. Hash browns and sausages would be delivered along with my pumpkin pancakes. The family chatted, and got caught up on happenings and events. Before too long, our food was delivered. I was amazed with the amount our waitress could carry on her arms. She did have an assistant though. This time, my pancakes were delivered without the whipped cream on top, but in a tub next to it. There was also a tub of butter. I thought that was a better delivery. That way I could choose to use it or not. Since it hadn't been beneficial on the last attempt, I opted to just use the butter. I put an oversized blob of butter in between the two pancakes, and then began working on the rest of the meal. The sausage & hash browns were good. The eggs were okay. It was pretty much the standard operating levels for IHOP. Everything is good. Before leaving, I went into the bathroom to wash my hands and empty my bladder. All of their urinals are set at 'way short' people levels. I found that interesting. I've been to places where everything was set at 'way tall' people levels, so I guess people do that. It's weird, but they do it. Oh well. I returned, the bill was paid, photos were taken, and family went their separate ways. IHOP is good. They have a large menu that accommodates most hankerings. Was in here a few months ago. Never got around to leaving a review, but as I was leaving one for others in the area, I thought I'd share my two cents. NEVER AGAIN! My wife and I went here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. We waited FOREVER to be seated, which okay, it's busy and I'm no stranger to this so whatever. It's typical for the morning rush. No points off on this one. We were seated and a waiter who was barely paying attention to us took our order, brought our drinks, and... disappeared. We didn't see him again after that. Over an hour we waited for our food and nothing came. Finally, we called for a manager who told us that our food was never put in. He was courteous and apologetic, but I don't know that I buy that explanation. Where the heck was our waiter? Why had we not seen him since? Typically you come around to check on your tables. I don't know if he went on break, took off for the day, or was cowering in the kitchen because he screwed up, but frankly I don't care. It is a damn good thing that they did not make us pay for that meal. This isn't a reflection on Ihop in general, their food is good as far as average breakfast chains go, but we won't be returning to this one. read more

I am always amazed at how crowded this place is. My guess is if you went three miles down the road to the ihop in Shrewsbury there would be no wait. Count on 15-20 minutes wait here on a weekend morning. They do offer call ahead seating. The service is generally good and they move you through pretty quickly. One particular waitress, Debra, does a particularly good job if you are lucky enough to be in her section. They are named for the pancakes but I actually prefer the omelettes. Some of the flavored pancakes are good, but steer clear of the crepes -- like Montreal clear. I'm often a little surprised by how big the bill gets for breakfast, but generally it's worth it. Worth stopping in but plan ahead. read more

We came for breakfast. This is a newer restaurant, so it it much roomier and cleaner than some of the local i hops. We had Timmy as a server. He was super friendly, fast and a pleasure to deal with. The coffee was good as was the food. I got the bacon supreme omelette with the buttermilk pancakes. My husband and daughter got the ham omelette, my mother got the 2-2-2 off the senior menu and my son got the pancakes off the children's menu. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the kids loved the balloon artist that was going around to the tables. It's crazy busy here on a Saturday and if you don't call ahead you can expect to wait 45 minutes or more. But if they guaranteed me I would get the same server again, I'd wait no problem. read more

Why do all IHOPs bring your food room temperature. Maybe I'm spoiled from visiting Gold Star Restaurant, where it's cooked fast and fresh, and brought to your table IMMEDIATELY. I've sat by the kitchen at IHOP's White City location, and seen ready orders sit under the so-called "heat lamps" minute after minute after minute. And typically, on a busy day, I observe at least one nearby table return their order and say, "This is cold!" Priority should be given to delivering the food HOT! But it's NOT. Friendliness of servers is a positive and food flavor is USUALLY acceptable; But this time round, my pancakes tasted like the batter had just been mixed and the flour wasn't even dissolved! Really! And the egg omelet was so aerated, that it was like eating an egg sponge - Really! My partner's bottom pancake was undercooked and literally white on one side. Really! So two stars.
