Harry's Restaurant was among the suggested places to eat when I searched for food near my hotel. I figured, since I was in Massachusetts, why not grab a quick lobster roll before work? Upon walking inside, you'll immediately feel like you've gone back in time. It gives off a very classic, old-fashioned diner feel, with booth seating and red stools along the counter. Important to note that this place is cash only. Lobster and other seafoods are advertised as their specialty both online and within the restaurant. I never had a lobster roll before, and unfortunately, this place made me think lobster rolls were mediocre and overrated (and then I had my life changed by lobster rolls from other places). FOOD: Lobster Roll (6 oz.) (2.75/5) - I opted for mine to be served warm with butter. It came with a side of slaw and very generous portion of onion rings and fries. The lobster roll itself was lukewarm and the melted butter came on the side in a small plastic cup. (I was expecting for the butter to be more incorporated.) The lobster sat on a small bed of cut lettuce. The lettuce wasn't of the freshest quality as some pieces tasted strangely bitter. The lobster was a tad rubbery, and everything was overall bland to me. I found myself reaching for the salt shaker more than would have wanted to. SERVICE: I believe a new hire was getting trained during my visit, so it was a bit clumsy. However, I found it rather charming. They are all very warm people, and you can tell that this is a family owned establishment, which is why I really wanted to like this place. I saw the huge seafood platter plates coming from the kitchen and wondered about ordering a platter vs the lobster roll. Well... here is my first visit and the take on it.. Clam chowder was in a dinky coffee cup and was cold vs hot. It was lumpy like the friend of Wally on Leave it to Beaver show...it was full of seafood more so than clams ... nothing special for 6.99. The lobster roll was good Size pieces and all claw meat... I wanted some sweet knuckle meat too... but I guess all claw better than minced tail meat? Needed more mayo or lemon flavor or any flavors? It was fresh however. The onion rings, fries a huge amount twice what I needed and were awful... batter had no taste or spices... needs flavors in batter . I was glad didn't order a seafood platter with this tasteless batter... Cole slaw was pre packed in plastic cup and was fresh with no flavors ... I added pepper, but needed a cream or milk or paprika or something. Place appears a big attraction for the locals ad staff and customers all knew each other probably for years? They are not shy on their prices and alot of menu options as a diner type spot. I don't see wearing my sneakers out to run back again. We stopped by to pick up some lobster rolls while in the area! A regular roll was around $32 and a larger one was around $40. It came with a LOT of onion rings and fries. The lobster was nice with big chunks! The onion rings and fries, however, were a pass. They had no seasoning and very bland. Overall, would return to try some other food, but the fries and onion rings were not worth it. I would suggest selling the lobster rolls without the sides and lowering the cost a bit. read more

Harry's has been a family fav for years. It is exactly what you want and expect of a diner (& they have a liquor license). We enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner & dessert here. The homemade chicken tenders are amazing, as are the homemade chips. Burgers, seafood, matzo ball soup, chowder, even the salads are good. Do not miss the sundaes! The staff have all been there for awhile and are so friendly and it is nice to be recognized when we come in. In the summer you can dine outside as well. read more

This restaurant was one of the closest place to where my team and I were staying so we decided to try it out. My group takeout ordered the Regular lobster roll that came with French fries, onion rings, and cole slaw, the bacon cheeseburger sliders, and the crab and lobster bisque bowl. The lobster roll was filled with lobster which also came with melted butter on the side. There were also pickles added. This came with a whole plate of onion rings and French fries (which we did not finish). The sliders were dry overall. The meat was pretty dry and the bread was also dry. The lobster roll bread was also a bit dry. The cole slaw was ok. The crab and bisque was probs one of the better dishes we got. It was creamy and it went really well with the fries. They also messed up on the rest of the groups orders (some had the wrong sides and many of our team said the food was pretty dry) Overall, the food was ok but I am not sure if I will come back. read more

Wonderful food and service! They offer two kinds of lobster rolls, hot buttered or cold with mayonnaise. I chose the cold one and it was one of the best I've ever had. There was only a hint of mayonnaise, which was the perfect amount to complement the lobster, not overpower it. The lobster roll had large whole claws and big chunks of tender, sweet meat. It was fabulous. It came with a small cup of coleslaw and huge portions of onion rings and fries, and they substituted sweet potato fries for the regular fries for me at no extra charge. The batter on the onion rings was light and delicate, letting the flavor of the onion shine through. One thing I really appreciate is they don't oversalt the fried food like so many places do now. There are salt and pepper shakers on the table for you to put as much or as little as you like. The finishing touch to this perfect meal was a piece of homemade blueberry pie a la mode. The meals I have ordered here are hit/miss, and ALL of them are very expensive. My parents enjoy their homestyle meals (meatloaf, pot roast) but at $20 per plate, they set me back $40. Tonight I ordered my folks two pastrami sandwiches- $10 each, no side, and only a skimpy amount of pastrami. A side of sweet potato fries (reasonable amount but not a full take out box)- $10! They also push the desserts- $6-7 for a single slice of pie. In short, I'll splurge on the homestyle meals, occasionally, but it won't be a regular spot for me due to the expense. OK, now be honest -would you expect a restaurant whose menu includes fried clams, calamari, scallops, steamers, quahogs, shrimp tacos, and lobster rolls to also include matzo ball soup? Hardly so, right?  Well what if I told you that my cup of matzo ball soup was absolutely delicious, one of the best I ever had- great broth loaded with shredded chicken, celery, carrots, and a 100% perfect soft and fluffy matzo ball? Harry's has been around since 1946, that's 75 years for those of you counting at home. We walked in yesterday, and every single outdoor seat was taken, the inside dining room was packed, and we luckily grabbed the only table still vacant. Our table for two was right by the register and counter, so we had a front row seat to the busy inner workings of Harry's - the non stop phone orders, the never ending parade of pick up customers, the communication between the front and back of the house, and the high energy servers who didn't ever have a chance to breathe between their job functions. We were particularly impressed by the young guy who worked like a demon clearing the tables, wiping them down, delivering water- all with a Robert Redford 1,000 watt smile on his face. We ordered three things - the aforementioned cup of matzo ball soup ($5.99), a BLT ($6.99), and a very rarely seen Calamari Caesar Salad ($13.99). My Calamari Caesar was great -it must have had 3/4 of a pound of breadcrumbed and fried calamari rings and tentacles over sliced Romaine. What a great combination. I've seen shrimp as a Caesar add-on but not calamari. Hail Harry !! Now my wife's BLT was a thing of beauty -piled thick with bacon and a pretty good value for the price. We lived in the Worcester area around the late 1970's and it was a joy to see Harry's still alive, kicking, and truth be told... still thriving. read more

They have the best clams around this area. The onion rings are always cooked to perfection. I would just maybe add a little seasoning or some kind but that is just a nitpick. The buffalo tenders are also really good. The frappes can be hit or miss depending on who makes it, some times the person making it can add too much milk and it gets too milky, I always prefer when they make it thicker. This is our go to diner since moving to Southborough six years ago. Portions are large and food is delicious and fresh.

Hubby and I came to this place several months back. Overall, it's not a bad place. The breakfast food we both ordered was pretty good. Service was great. Very attentive and friendly. The only drawback hubby and I both had was the lack of space between the booths and pathways. Very narrow space to walk in and out.Not very wheelchair accessible. The restroom is literally like an outhouse. Need to go back outdoors if you need to go. Narrow space there as well. Again not a bad place but would not go there again. It's too compact,congested and not very accessible. read more
