2 friends & I came here on a sunday at 1130am. It was a busy morning. We waited about 15 mins. They gave us these index cards with movie titles like "king kong" & "finding dory" to hold our spots and called them out when we were up. Kinda cute. Theres a big parking lot but it can get crowded due to the other businesses. The waitress came after 5 mins to get our drink & food order. 15 mins later we still had no drinks while others that came after us with a different waitress did. There was no sight of our waitress after she took our orders until she brought us the check. Someone brought our drinks 15 mins after we ordered them. Along with our food 5 mins after that. The drinks were super small (pic). It took 40 mins total from putting our name on the list to getting our food. Cashing out was quick and easy and we were able to split the check. I had the 2 egg breakfast (pic) and my friends had the breakfast sampler (pic) and country fried steak breakfast. The bacon was pretty good. I asked for condiments ahead of time so that I can have it ready when the food came out. Of course it didn't, and then the server never came back. I give it 4 stars instead of five because we waited over 15 minutes before someone came to our table. They sat us at the corner and forgot about us until my wife got up and said something. Server came over and helped us out and was great. Apologized about what had happened and said he would help us although we weren't in his section. I have been to this iHop location for so many years. But my recent visit was impressive. I had the spicy omelet with buttermilk pancakes on the side and it was really good. I shared a plate with my boyfriend and felt that the quality and taste has improved since our last visit. One thing that made me gave a 4 star is the new menu where they cut a lot of dishes. I was really excited to try this new IHOP. It's clean and definitely modern looking. I walked in and noticed that there were two hosts up front and only two waitresses for the entire restaurant. So service was slow. So slow that even though I came for dinner, by the time I got my pancakes it'll actually be breakfast time. Waited 15 minutes and finally had to flag down someone to take our drink orders. Room temperature coffee and the carafe was only filled 25%. Service is a complete nightmare. The staff really seem inexperienced and unorganized. Don't make me wait over 30 minutes, flag you down and you ask, "Do you need more time to look over the menu?" Really? Food. the pancakes were nice and moist. The hash browns weren't overcooked - thank you for that. The pork sausage wasn't too greasy and flavorful as always. Overall, I recommend that the manager really talk to the staff and really spruce up the huge lack of organization. As soon as customers are seated, someone should really come by and take the drink orders and then within 5 minutes take the food order. I like to order the Simple & Fit Two-Egg Breakfast - My version: Scrambled egg whites, two strips of turkey bacon, sourdough toast, seasonal mixed fruit and I order hashbrowns on the side. I always have to have hashbrowns. I love them. I've never asked but I wonder if they can switch out turkey for actual bacon and if they can bring out my food HOT. You've been to one iHop, you've been to all, right? WRONG! This is the second time we came to this iHop, I first visited this place two weeks ago. It was busy, loud, people were falling over each other, but you forgive the rude cashier, and the mistaken food order. Today, today they failed. Today they proved that this franchise has a long way to go to improve the customer-server relations. Don't go there, tell your friends: dirty and unorganized. In sum: 1. There was a five minute dispute over a "free refills" on drinks listed on their menu for a small orange juice. 2. The potatoes were served raw. 3. A damn dead mosquito on the ice-water served to me by the restaurant manager at a time when Zika is being spread through mosquitos. Long story: I ordered an orange juice, side of scrambled eggs, red potatoes, my mother ordered the sirloin bits and eggs. After finishing my juice the sever takes my cup, for what I assumed was a refill, 10 minutes later no OJ. I ask him when he stops by and he says they don't give refills so there'll be a charge. I respond that their menu has a "free refills" note on the drinks (including OJ). He doesn't respond, he leaves and on comes a woman saying she's the manager asking if I wanted to speak to her about the juice. I explain the situation still perplexed people would go so far for a $2.99 orange juice. She keeps saying, they'll make an exception for me so I tell her to please go ahead and charge me, I don't need to argue over juice. She comes back with the menu in her hand saying, "these are new menus" sent to them and she hadn't noticed. So finally we settle that. Not the end of the problem. When I take my second bite of potatoes I had to discreetly return them to my napping because the potatoes were cold, ice-cold. I look down and the side of the potato is still clear like raw potatoes look. I tell the server and he says they will bring more out. The manager steps in again and comes to remove the plate, apologizing on their behalf. I honestly was not that upset over the damn potatoes as I was over how we had to spend 5 minutes discussing free refills in Orange Juice. The server tells us the meal will be paid for by the restaurant given the multiple complaints. Not needed, seriously, I can see this place needs the money to better train their people. Still not the end. She asks if we need a water refill I say, "yes, please." She brings back my small water and since its been hot lately, I finish my water quickly only to find out there was a mosquito in the ice cube! A damn, dead mosquito. I really wasn't going to say anything because across from me sat the woman that gave birth to me & who had just come back from a therapy visit that leaves her very sore. I sit there quietly trying to shuffle my meal not trying to ruin hers like everyone in this restaurant already had ruined mine. My stomach twisting, turning with disgust until she asks. She tells the server who happens to just walk by. The poor boy, without a word takes the cup and walks back. I can see him speaking with the manager. My mother explains we needed to make them aware given the Zika warning we are currently on. I ask if she's finished, given her look of disgust. We get up and leave. No attempt to fix anything. Looking at the other reviews, it's true, they are slow. I came in at 5am for breakfast, there were 3 tables with people, and at least 15 with dirty dishes on them. It looked as if there was only one server there. He told me to sit wherever, I was lucky to find a booth that was still clean. He came by with the menu, then like disappeared for over 5 minutes. I gave my order, and waited, and waited for my diet soda. I finally stood up and asked, and finally received it. Food: It did also take a while for the food to arrive. I ordered: sirloin tips with medium eggs, side of sourdough toast. The sirloin tips and mushrooms were dry and overcooked. The medium eggs were over easy, runny whites and in a pool of butter (?). The toast was dry, hard and not buttered. Pancakes were a little overcooked but edible. Now here was the worst, the hash browns, a mass of greasy, undercooked potatoes. The server never came back to check on me or refill my soda. In fact, he was standing outside catching a smoke right outside the front (see photo), if fact, I think that is against the law in LA. And I wonder if he washes his hands after his smoke.... Please head these other reviews. This place has very slow service. Come on, Northridge; this IHOP deserves a four star rating; it is NOT a three-star property. So I'm giving it FIVE stars to help adjust the average. I apologize to my massive following of three people, but this is necessary; this is a great little restaurant. It is clearly worthy of four (or five) stars. Our server, Mercedes, was great: pleasant, efficient, attentive. Food was great; wife had a build-your-own omelette with blueberry pancakes. I had a bacon-encrusted chicken breast served on potato hash. Others in our group had dinner crepes, steak omlette with added avocado, and chocolate pancakes. Food came rapidly, looked great, and everything was hot and tasty. One small issue: on their menu, "sweet tea" is listed but if you order it, you get raspberry tea. Menu does not say that; anyone from the south or midwest will tell you, sweet tea is brewed dark tea with sugar added when it is hot. Then cooled and served on ice. No raspberries involved. My daughter and I went here last night. We are used to going to a different IHOP. The service was very slow, which we couldn't understand as there weren't very many people there. We got a part of our order and then again had to wait for the rest and by that time our food was cold. If we needed something I had to look for help. After finally getting the bill, I was charged for something totally different than what was ordered. Again we had to wait for the new bill. I had to go up front and explain what we ordered and then the bill was created. To top it off both of us got stomach aches when we got home. Back to our original IHOP for good food. read more

We ordered chicken strips $13, double blueberry pancakes $12, and a breakfast combo with two eggs, hash browns, sausage, and toast $12.30. Our total was $41 for mediocre food at best. My toast was cardboard, like it had been previously toasted and just left sitting there. It was a small portion of hash browns, which to their credit was cooked perfectly. Chicken strips were pretty much all breading. Honestly, $13 for chicken strips?! Wow. That's insane. And no one checked on us. Didn't ask how the food was at all. I am usually not a big fan of IHOP as they tend to take a long time when ordering. Was brought here by my mother-in-law. It was a Friday morning and brought my 2 month old. Not knowing if my 2 month old would sleep thru breakfast or be crying I was hoping the greeter would sit us at a location far enough from everyone just in case my baby decided to wake up and cry. They sat us at a booth in an area full of people... but we have to make the best of it. Our waitress came and as soon as she saw my baby she asked us if we wanted to move to a better place away from everyone. Definitely! She moved us to the back where it was nice and quiet and away from everyone else. Thank God! We ordered and while ordering my mother-in-law was so undecided of what she would have. The waitress was so patient and tentative offering different options. The food came out really quick and she kept asking if everything was ok. Sorry no pictures. We have been to this IHOP before but never gotten service like today's our waiter was Jose & let me tell you he was amazing he was on it every 5 minutes coming to check if we needed anything & if we did he brought it to us so fast with a smile even though he had a mask on you can tell the expression on his face that he is smiling it made me and my family feel comfortable & that is a first he made the wait worth it.
