I went to this ihop on Monday July 13, 2015 and it was horrible , first off we had to wait about 40 minutes to get our meal and when the meal came it was all done wrong we called over the manager and after complaining we left without eating or paying so if your planning on going there don't go to the one in spring valley NY it only took seven minutes to get our meal and just in case you want to ask ... So disappointing when you place an order pick it up and clearly when you open the order it is all wrong. Eggs over medium came over hard great, crispy bacon came raw, buttered toast with no butter and none in the bag, the hash browns were so over cooked that I couldn't chew it, arrrg. I've been to better iHops, but no complaints here. The wait time has always been about 15 minutes or less, the staff is friendly, and the food is pretty good. If you're looking for breakfast, Viva La French Toast in my case, it's a decent spot. I haven't gotten lunch or dinner here, so I can't rate them in those areas. read more

I can't believe people gave this one star! I've eaten at both rte 17 locations, and this was the better of the two. Crowded Saturday, waitress was great. We have been there several times and while the servers have always been very friendly, the wait time for the lunch orders has been getting progressively worse. This week was the last straw after waiting 30-40 minutes for the orders after our drinks arrived. The place was not full. Our server kept apologizing, but we eventually cancelled the orders. Again, the servers have been great, and they did not charge for the coffee this time. Seems like they need to fix the kitchen. This will be our last time at this ihop. read more

This is by far the BEST IHOP I've every experienced and almost ranks higher than many regular restaurants. It's huge, so there's no crazy wait, and seating is very roomy and bright. he staff is extremely well trained and pleasant and the food is definitely several grades above. Fourth of July 2018, my boyfriend and I went to eat at our favorite breakfast spot, Ihop. I go up to a welcoming host, Holly, and she writes my name in. She says about a 5 minute wait. No problem, right? Well, ten minutes goes by and we're not seated. "Eh, whatever" I say. They're busy on fourth of July, it's totally understandable. 15 minutes goes by. We see another party of two, who we could've sworn came in after us, be seated... "Maybe we just didn't see them when we walked in and they were here before us." I keep my patience. Shortly after that I make eye contact with Holly and give her a little smile and wave, a little gesture to make sure she knew we were still waiting. She gave a little smile back, what I thought was a confirmation in the message I was trying to send. As the wait grows from 15 to 20 to 25 minutes, my patience grows thin, but I remain to be the respectful customer. Finally, after 30 minutes of waiting, I see a couple (2 people) come in and almost immediately get seated and that's when I was like, "alright, I'm done waiting, this is ridiculous!" As soon as I go up to the hostess table, she immediately recognizes me and starts to profusely apologize. Saying her co worker must've forgotten to write my name in, even though I saw HER write my name in. She also tried saying that her coworker must've forgotten were sitting there... Or that he skipped my name... She tried pinning all on her coworker, where it was her fault as well. She took no blame in the incident and lied right to my face about it. She then sat us down as quickly as possible and offered us buy one get one free milkshakes to make up for it. If you this is a good Sorry-We-Kept-You-Waiting deal, it wasn't. You know why? Because that was a deal that was up for grabs by everyone. They have a huge banner in front advertising that same deal! So, overall, we were completely forgotten about and then we received no compensation for the incident. I'm serverely disappointed with their service recently and will not be returning for a while. Not the best IHOP. Service is SLOW and there doesn't seem to be much management or someone making sure guest are being taken cared of. From other reviews, I'm guessing that this branch has seen worse times (I always look in reverse chronological order), but when my wife and I went in, the staff was friendly and attentive, and we were served all our food exactly as we ordered it. The manager, Noah, went out of his way to make sure everything was OK (we only told him we were Yelper's on our way out of the restaurant). Giving 4 stars meaning "excellent for it's kind", there was nothing extraordinary about it, but everything they did, they did well. read more

The place is WAY overstaffed and the manager decided to hold a team meeting 2 booths away in front by the entrance, with the waitresses whining about the behind-the-scenes politics. I came here on New Year's Day and was told by the hostess that there is a half hour wait. I decided to wait. After I waited for close to a half hour, I heard a waitress say to the hostess, don't seat anyone because the kitchen is all backed up. Then the hostess began telling people who were coming in that the wait was an hour. The service was horrible. I went here last night with a large group that consisted of clients from a group home and I presume the hostess we "amused" her when we entered in the establishment. The hostess could not hold in her giggles when she saw us and had to cover her mouth with her hand because she was laughing so hard. This place has a very corporate feel to it. The service is excellent and friendly but the food is tasteless and uninteresting. On three recent visits the bacon was dry and stiff, obviously warmed over(during slow hours of the day). The ham is consistantly tough and rubbery and the eggs are always very small. No. Do not go here. Ever. Went within the past few years with my boyfriend and my family. I have lived in this area my whole life and only remember Ihop being bad in the past few visits (past 3 or 4). There were always flies in the restaurant and gathered on the wall. Fruit flies and regular flies. I am talking at least three dozen. On multiple occasions. For the worst part--this was the final straw. Hair. All over my food. First...it seemed innocent enough...and I got another order of pancakes. But it was curly kinky hair...you know what I mean...and it was on my boyfriend's toast, on my plate, and on my pancakes...two different orders of them...and the new stack had one sticking literally vertically out of the center of the top pancake. Went home and later found one stuck in my teeth...The person cooking it must've been my ex-boyfriend of mine or something, because nothing else explains it. The WORST service ever. Was seated quickly but then had to wait for 15 minutes for a server to come over after we had asked for a waitress, Anisha, MULTIPLE times. She finally came over to ask if there was a problem. Um you think? Three tables that were seated after us and already had drinks. We placed our order and after taking it she walked away and cleaned tables and took other orders for the next 5 minutes instead of getting our drinks or putting in our order. Delicious! Service can be slow but as long as it's not packed the waiters are amazing! Would recommend.
