Oh boy. I understand that this was family weekend for TXST but I genuinely believe businesses should anticipate and plan for a larger crowd. With that said, here was my experience. We were seated quickly and our drink orders were both taken and delivered. But about 40 min later nobody had come by to take our order or refill drinks. We flagged someone down (the same woman who sat us) and were told she wasn't assigned to our section, but would wait on us anyway. Cool. She took our food orders, and we waited another 30 min or so. That part made sense; it was busy. But when she delivers our food, we find out that one of our dishes had something they were "out" of. Fine. Would have been nice to know shortly after taking the orders, not when you're delivering the rest of our food. So a second choice is made. We spend the next 30 min eating, though we are still waiting on one part of a meal. We have to ask for it, someone else asks for it, and we finally get it. The waitress says to the busser, "I know, I told ___ about it but" and shrugs. Which felt dismissive and like it was low priority. We pay, and ask for boxes for what we didn't eat. The boxes take about 10 min to get. The restroom was also run down and gross. The faucets look like they haven't been cleaned in a couple of years. They are caked with mineral or grime build up. The food was fine. What you'd expect from an IHOP. And it was nice of the waitress to take on our table. But where was the server assigned to our table? We never saw them. Why were our drinks NEVER refilled in the 90+ minutes we were there? The service left a lot to be desired, because even when busy, employees can check in on their tables. Apologize for delays. Absolutely horrible experience. Will not be returning to this location. Came for breakfast this morning with our family and it was pretty empty so expected a quick meal. We waited over 40 minutes for our food and by the time it finally came out our kids were super restless and hungry. All of our meals were ice cold. Please avoid placing curbside orders here. I placed a curbside order that was meant to be ready at 10:15am. I arrived at 10:02 to call upon my arrival as the curbside sign instructed me to do. I called a few times and no answer. I have gone to this location before and the same thing happened. At 10:18am I decided to go into the restaurant to retrieve my order since I already knew they were not going to bring it out. There was a lady at the front intentionally ignoring calls and did not greet anyone who came through the door. The hostess who had just arrived to her shift came to the front and I let her know that I was waiting for my curbside order. She pointed me to a shelf that had online orders on it and said I could find it there. So why offer a curbside option if I have to go inside to get it every time? On top of that, no one answers the phone to ask if I could come inside to retrieve the order. I'm not faulting them for being busy but the way it was handled was not good customer service. When I reiterated that it was a curbside order, the hostess said that it would still be on this random black shelf. She then said that it was busy so they could not bring it out to me. As the other review stated DO NOT place a curbside order here. We placed a order for pickup at 11:10 and our pick up time was 12:00. We arrived at 11:50 and my boyfriend went inside to pick up our food for us and our daughter. He waited inside the resurant for almost 20 minutes, as the order was given to him, the cook stated "tell their ass to never order here again, I almost spit in their damn food". As a mom this came to me as a shock but I decided not to escalate and simply left. When we got home we also realized they got our order completely wrong. The worst iHop I've ever been do. I knew I was probably in trouble when I asked Siri for directions and she said "this restaurant has only a two star rating, do you want to continue!!". Yikes - for once I should have listened to Siri. I came in on a Sunday afternoon and the place was dead. I ordered the pancake special and a glass of water. She brought the water and it had a bug floating in it (see pic). I asked for crispy bacon and what I got was basically raw (see pic). It took less than a minute after I sat down at the kiosk to be acknowledged and attended to by a woman with a good sense of humour. I was seated at a clean booth with great sun and a view of depressing retail backlots, which is virtually your only option here. Chicken and waffles. Honey mustard sauce (other choice is ranch). Glass of milk. Peach topping, please. $15.56 before tip. Waiter was friendly and prompt, and when he delivered my error-free meal he asked if he should leave the receipt and I NEVER SAW HIM AGAIN. I am a delivery driver for Uber eats. IHOP notes on the app for pickup orders to park in the spot and a server will bring out the order. I called as the parking spot says and the server tells me, I need to come in and grab the order, despite being in a mobile pickup spot. I ask about the conflicting messages on the app vs the sign vs her telling me that I have to come and grab . Her response, servers aren't allowed outside and that "the spot is there for you to come and grab the food". Either IHOP corporate is wrong with what they write in the app, or your parking signs and promise that a server will bring it are wrong, or the more believable is a lack of training by the server. This place is disgusting. The restaurant was not clean, tables were filthy dirty and no one cleaned them the whole time we were there. We were seated at a dirty unwiped table. I literally had to ask if they could wipe it down before we sat down and it was the manager that sat us. The high chair was sticky as well. The rest of the story...I submitted a review a year ago about the worst service I have ever received in 60 years of dining on takeout...I wrote the previous review while waiting an hour and forty five minutes for my food, in this period I also had adequate time to give a verbal review of the wait staff's lack of basic skills that allows one to function in society and interact with others (much less trusted with the job to wait on the public) I also said I didn't realize that MHMR had a recent graduation... but to give credit where credit was due all of the while I was commenting on how well the cook was preforming and how he had been hustling and had approximately 10 orders up on the counter just waiting to be taken to their final destinations This seemed to amuse a booth of young students because they broke out into giggles and chuckles trying to refrain from full blown laughter.., this did not amuse the wait staff and about that time I saw all three waitresses seem to start bagging my omelette (which had been up for at least 20 minutes) then it seemed that not just one could sack my utensils and condiments but it required all 3! kind of strange I though so I figured I had better check the order when I got in the car to leave... we'll when I tan my hand down into the bag I felt that they had gotten the last laugh and a plethora of retaliations raced through my brain for the condiment bag was full of pancake syrup! Walked in when it was fairly busy and got attended quickly. I ordered a cold brew and a breakfast sampler. I received my cold brew after maybe 10 minutes and the taste was not good. I then received my food and took my first bite of the eggs, it was good. Next was the sausages, which weren't bad but I have had better from breakfast sausages at walmart. Bacon was very disappointing, super thin and salty. Tasted like the really cheap generic microwaveable bacon. Lastly was the hash browns, now I was really looking forward to the hash browns but when I tried it, it felt like I was eating little shredded pieces of rubber. The taste was meh, and the texture of the hash brown was stale. Overall, I have no complaints of the service but the food was an unpleasant experience. If you're looking for a quick bite, I still wouldn't recommend to stop here. You're better off going to cracker barrel. For the price of the food, the quality of their food is disappointing. Went for all you can eat pancakes special at 9:30 AM. It literally took 1.5 hours to bring me my first plate of 3 pancakes, and one additional more. There were only three tables seated on my half of the dining room. Richard was our server and while he is an expert at ignoring you while your waving both arms over your head trying to 'catch his attention', he is also an expert at picking a traveling path that doesn't bring him anywhere near to the tables he is supposed to be attending. He did go by our table swiftly once to snatch my empty plate off that I had left near the edge, never bothering to slow down to ask if we needed anything else. He returned 20 minutes later to ask if we wanted a 'refill' on our all you can eat pancake order. Really?? You snatched my plate away 20 minutes again, didn't ask then, and apparently didn't put a refill order in either, and now 20 minutes later you bother to ask??? I do not remember the last time I did not leave a tip on a table for our server, regardless of how poor a job they did. I am serious when I tell you my wife usually gets on to me for being too generous. And she has been in the food service business many many years. I did NOT leave Richard a tip. We DID leave IHOP irritated, aggravated, and ignored. As for the restaurant itself, table had sticky spots on it in a couple places, and nothing, absolutely NOTHING, on the table itself. No napkins.
