My boyfriend and I decided to come here after leaving the Crafthouse because no one had talk to us for 10 minutes. Here at IHOP, the service was quick and friendly. As a college kid, I come here fairly often, and every time the service is excellent. No matter what time we go, the waiters are always polite and helpful, and service is usually pretty quick unless the place is absolutely packed (and I can forgive them for that, I know how rough it can be to be a server in an insanely busy restaurant). The food is standard for an IHOP. It's pretty good, fast breakfast food. I've never actually had anything not breakfast from here, so I can't speak on that. I usually get crepes or pancakes, sometimes French toast. Everything has always been hot and delicious. I've had eggs a variety of ways here, and I can say that I don't like them scrambled. They taste artificial and have a weird texture. Every time I get them over easy, though, they're really good!! Go for that if you're into it. Also, if you haven't tried it, the butter pecan syrup is the best syrup I've ever had. I literally consider stealing the container every time I go. Overall, this is a decent IHOP. When you see this Ihop. Turn around. Especially if it's busy. Something is bound to be messed up with your order if it is.

I've come here a few times since starting college and almost every time i've come my food takes way longer to get to me then it should and the food is cold. I've heard multiple people complain about waiting almost a full hour to get their food after ordering. That's crap it shouldn't take almost hour to cook food. We got to this Ihop quite a bit and every time we do there is this nasty greeter named Melissa. She has to be the rudest person I have encountered at a eating establishment. Yesterday when we went there. I observed her ignoring people coming in. At one point she actually walked away when patrons came in, then she made them wait while she ran off to do something in the back. We were waiting to pay and there was a small line. Twice she ran into my husband and never said a word. This was not a subtle bump this was straight out rudeness. My parents and I entered at about 10:15pm we weren't seated until 10:30pm, a group came in five mins after us and they were seated immediately. When we were finally seated, no body addressed us, but were able to seat another table and get their drink orders, we haven't even got our drink orders in and by now it's 10:40pm. When we started talking about how long it was taking to get served.That took an additional 10 mins, we finally just got up to leave, when we caught the staff talking about us, how we were being loud and ghetto. My mom addressed them and they were shocked, then the manager told my mom she wasn't allowed to speak to the staff, so my mom proceeded to talk to the manager. The manager automatically told us to leave, because we were being " rude". Sometimes waiters are moving so fast they don't introduce themselves, and I've happen to always be sitting next to the bathroom. I graduated from Gary Job Corps on Thursday, so my big bro and his family took me out to eat at IHOP. I ordered the New York Cheesecake Style Pancakes. Yummy! It had strawberries, and mini bite sized cheesecake pieces and a ton of whipped cream on it. My nephew order the smiley face pancake, which was chocolate, with whipped creme face, cherries for the eyes and chocolate chips for the smile. My sister in law got the stuffed french toast. My brother got a huge omelet and mini pancakes. All of the food was good, the place was clean, the restroom smelt nice like raspberries, and the service was great. I wouldn't usually review an IHOP because it's an IHOP in a college town and who expects much? I will be generous and give it two stars because the waitress was friendly. However, the order was wrong (it was right on the ticket so she probably entered it correctly & the kitchen messed it up) and the hashbrowns were one hard block of potato, burned on the outside, and mush inside. How do they mess up hashbrowns? I couldn't break through it with my fork. Also, the bathrooms are so disgusting!! There was a "wet floor" sign in the bathroom but I'll tell you, it certainly wasn't wet from being cleaned!! I won't go into detail. Just don't go in there even to wash your hands... Okay.. to pop things off, today's service that I received was beyond poor. My waitress seemed as if she didn't want to serve us and her demeanor just wasn't it. Not only did my waitress act as if she dreaded being at that dump, they took FOREVER to get my food out to me and on top of that, my pancakes were super soggy and looked like they had been sitting out for 6 hours... Where do I even begin? I ordered through the IHOP website for delivery. I was supposed to receive my order at 8:41 pm, didn't get it until 9:35 pm. I tried calling IHOP for an hour straight when my food hadn't arrived...there was no answer. So when I received my food, it was not what I ordered. I ordered an omelette with New York cheesecake pancakes, I received something way different. So I had to go out in the rain to the restaurant. When I get there, it's not busy at all (maybe 2-3 tables had customers). The waitress, Hannah, (super sweet lady, she understood why I was upset), did her best to solve the problem. Said she could take my info down for a refund and could do a remake. Cool. So I heard her tell the cook she needed condiments for the bag already made...I told her I wanted fresh food. So then I hear her tell the cook to make it fresh, the cook had an attitude. So I told Hannah to just give me my refund. She took my info down to give to her manager to give to corporate. I had my food remade. While I was waiting, I also heard 2 other ladies (customers) say that the cook had an attitude. Because she handled everything with grace, I want to give a huge shout out to Hannah, keep rocking girl! Otherwise, this establishment pretty much sucks. I wouldn't eat here. read more

I LOVE breakfast, so IHOP is somewhere my boyfriend & I go to on occasion. We went on Valentine's Day & were surprised at how few people were there. We weren't in any hurry & we both work in food service so we sympathized when we saw how short staffed they were. That being said, we were seated & served our drinks but soon after taking our order our waitress' shift ended. Somewhere in the transition, our order was clearly misplaced. The male host working as a server assured us that a second cook had arrived & they were working on our order but after seeing people who arrived after us, get their food, we were getting antsy. I asked an actual waiter when we could expect our meal & he went to check & it was obvious that it wasn't even being made. We left, very hungry & disappointed after a wait of at least 45 minutes. For the record, all we ordered was a serving of bacon, eggs, & toast (maybe the 2x2x2) & a pancake combo for me. Nothing crazy. Highly disappointed but my love for breakfast will probably lead me back to this location eventually. Proceed with caution. read more

Today they were having a pancake special of unlimitedness pancakes. I got a strawberry banana milkshake and pancakes, not to mention I added hashbrowns and scrambled eggs to the mix. Last night when I went to pick up my to-go mobile order the older lady at the front desk was ignoring me in order to chit chat with the other waiter. When I told her the name for my order she told me that she didn't know what I was talking about and there was no order for that name. I had to go to my car, get my phone in order to prove that I had a to go order? Then when I finally get my food I had fries instead of onion rings(I paid extra for onion rings) I also paid extra for Honey Mustard that I didn't receive, And my gravy was stone cold. I ordered eggs over medium but that were hard and not even a little bit runny. Very disappointed with the poor customer service and the poor construction of my order. All they had to do was actually read??? I thought online ordering was supposed to be more efficient? Disappointed to say the least read more

The waitress (her name was Merion or something? She never introduced herself) I had here was absolutely terrible. I struggled to even tip her $2 because I'm a nice person but she deserved NOTHING. The only reason I gave her $2 was because I truly felt she would be confrontational if I didn't. Her attitude towards me and my boyfriend was extreme rude like we were bothering her being there.... she made us extremely uncomfortable and left our glasses empty the entire time, we were too scared to even ask her to fill them up that's how weird she made us feel. Not to mention she has no problem SCREAMING across the restaurant, while we were paying, to rudely tell fellow employees it's not her problem she got a order wrong... so awkward for us. Chaos! Anarchy! Totally out of control! This will be over my last two visits. I love their food when they get it to me so i don't give up easily but after these two visits I'll be driving to Kyle for IHOP. The first visit my daughter wanted IHOP so I called it in in advance. Four meals, I was on hold from the first second. After being on hold for seven minutes and hearing the chaos in there I finally got my order in. I knew how busy and crazy it was going to be in there so I gave them 10 extra minutes before I left the house. I got there 10 minutes after my food was supposed to be ready and there were like 15 people waiting for to go orders and none of them looked very happy. A waitress walked up to the guy I was talking to for almost 15 minutes and handed him his food. He reached out to give her his debit card and she turned around and walked away. He had been there for over 30 minutes. He looked at me and said (twice) I should just leave. I finally said, "I'm not going to say anything" and he ran out the door without paying for his food. There were 8 bags of called in meals sitting on a table. One person kept calling out names and it finally occurred to me that those were all old meals that people walked out on. No one ever said any of them were theirs. 35 minutes later they brought me my food and it was short a meal. The manager came over and he asked what the 4th meal was and he tried to get it done so i could leave. That's when I noticed that the entire window from the kitchen was full of ready plates but they weren't getting to the customers. I've never seen a place more chaotic or out of control. No body was being seated or greeted, the food was sitting until people just left, and all I can say is ykes! What a mess. The second time I tried to call in an order they picked up the phone and put it down without saying anything. 9 minutes later they got on the phone. (Yeah I was mad so I was waiting) Then he told me they couldn't take my order because they were too busy. WHAT? This is during covid-19 and the occupancy is 50% and a ton of call in orders should be making up a lot of their food sales. They aren't even answering the phone and then when they do they can't take my order? 50% of occupancy! Never again. I went to Kyle 12 miles down the road and they were serene, friendly and i had my food 5 minutes after getting there. No issues! read more

One word: pitiful. Let's start with service. Waitress was nice, but did a terrible job at waitressing. Getting a hold of her was impossible because she just kept running around everywhere. I also noticed other waitresses displaying rude behavior to their customers. When paying, the proclaimed manager was very rude, was on the phone the whole time and said nothing. The food literally took an hour to get because the "kitchen was backed up." When the food got to us, it was mediocre at best. Cold. Soggy. Small proportions. I went to IHOP this morning. My waitress didn't really seem to care about wanting to wait on me. I only saw her two times. One was when she took my order and second was when she brought me my check. She never offered me any refills on my drink or even bothered to check on me. Also the women's bathrooms was disgusting!! The toilets were nasty, balls of hair all over the bathroom floor and the trashed looked like it hadn't been taken out in a long time. Where to begin? My bf and I got off work late and just moved to San Marcos. Everything was closed so we decided to just go to IHOP as it was the only place open. We got there and were seated quickly. Service here is prompt and good, that is their only saving grace. We ordered mozzarella sticks to start. They were really hard on the outside and mostly tasted like burnt breading. I ordered the steak tip dinner and my bf got the fried chicken dinner. When they arrived we dug in as we were both starving. It was awful. My steak tasted weird and had a chewy consistency. My bf's chicken was bland and tough. I ended up only eating the corn that came with my meal. When our server came at the end I told him how bad my food was and he saw I hadn't eaten anything. He sympathized and said he would tell the cook. The cashier however charged me anyway, $13.99 for a meal I didn't touch. A can of corn at Walmart would've cost me $1 and I could've eaten more of it. My concern is with the poor level of service, which has occurred on more than one occasion, at this location. My family and I (4 ppl) waited for over 40 minutes at our table to receive our food. After viewing other parties seated AFTER us being served BEFORE us, we decided to leave. I can understand being busy, but I don't sympathize with serving others seated after us their more complicated orders while we continue to wait for simple eggs and pancakes. We never even received an offer for drink refills. As we were leaving and I attempted to pay for our drinks, the cashier offered to retrieve a manager. The manager NEVER came over to talk to us. Instead, the manager sent another staff member over to offer our food at half off or box our eggs to go. Really? No thanks. We dined later at Texas Roadhouse and was impressed with their ability to serve 5 steak dinners in less time than IHOP could possibly serve eggs. Pathetic. read more

Well i guess i can give it 1 star for the food because we ate (it should be a -5)! The service is slow and management is very unprofessional. I was disgusted at the way paying customers were being treated. We waited for food for over 40 min. Had no silverware cups were empty After our order was taken (5ppl) all eggs and pancakes, people around us being seated and served. A group of kids came in with 7 ppl and were told they would be kicked out if the 7th sat down he could not pull up a chair (mind you we had an extra chair at our table) so the boy sat on the floor. Then they were told to get up and wait for a bigger table (theses kids were cooperating) the waiter came cleaned off the table and put 2 together so they could all fit but management made the sit out and wait she was not going to let them sit back down! Another family walks in gets sat down and they get told they are not aloud to pull tables together to fit eaither! This is a family that came to eat together you expect to sit together. Meanwhile a table has been served all there food and have no way to eat it (no silverware) and the waitress just oblivious. Nope never again. This is the worst restaurant i have been to. After waiting for our food for more than half an hour and complaining about it, some guy vengefully came up to us and complained about my friend kissing her spouse. He mentioned how this was a family restaurant was a family place and how we can't be doing this kind of thing but neither of them were being unreasonable they were holding hands and they may have pecked once - however they made us feel like garbage and it was bee obviously becaUse we'd questioned how long they'd been taking. Awful customer service. Waitress took our drink and simple food order (one omelette and two orders of pancakes), brought our water, and disappeared. Not a busy night - only a few customers - and staff seemed disinterested in working. Most of them stood around in groups chatting with each other. (The wall hanging - a picture of blueberries - above the table in our booth had two large, dried wads of white paper stuck to it. Perhaps the staff could have been more proactive in maintenance instead of visiting with each other.) After a really long wait, we flagged another staff person (who had been standing and talking with several other employees nearby) and asked if she could please check on our order because we had been there so long. She ignored us. When we asked her again, she snapped at us that our waitress heard us (apparently having been in the chat group) and would find out for us. We did not hear back from anyone for a while, until our waitress finally approached our table carrying only the two pancake orders. She informed us that the kitchen was still "working on" the omelette. We opted to leave at that point. Won't be returning. read more

The worst experience I've ever had at an ihop. Waitress was rude. A friend stopped by and ended up sitting with our group and we were told that she had to leave just because we added a chair. The hostess treated us with complete disrespect. I'm appalled at how the employees treated their customers as well as the situation in general. Even the manager was extremely disrespectful. I was quite disappointed, today. The bacon that they brag about could almost be described as shoe strings. That is probably why they hid it under the eggs. The over medium eggs were burnt on the edges. The pancakes were poured very thin and much smaller than expected. The bottom one was sliced in the middle and opened apart, probably to make it look bigger. The coffee was very bitter. My husband commented that his omelet blhad burnt edges.
