Went to this IHOP today at 10:30 am. Because we were s party of 2 we got seated right away. A gentleman cane and got our drink order right away. Although we came for breakfast we saw other customers having the hamburgers. I ordered the classic burger with fries, my husband had the classic burger with an egg, both burgers were delicious. Tasted very close to that if my favorite burger place, The Apple Pan in the Westside on Pico Blvd, Our waitress was great. I highly recommend the IHOP burger and come to the West Hills IHOP. Honestly can only expect so much considering it's IHOP but still the basics should be met. Our wait was only 15 minutes on a busy Sunday so that's appreciated, but clearly sweeping is not a priority since that had been neglected. I was afraid to put my feet down. It took another 15 minutes to be acknowledged by our server. He was nice but nothing spectacular. What really got me was him and another server pointing at a different table trying to decide who was taking them. I feel like that conversation should've been had in private, not next to the table. Iris the manager is extremely rude and just unbelievably customer unfriendly. I've I could give her and this location -5 stars I would. I placed an order online for pickup at 11:50. I had selected curbside and decided to go in. When I changed it to pick up in store I didn't see that it defaulted the time to 11:16. Since cold pancakes are not my favorite thing, I called in immediately to get the time changed. I don't know what's going on with this place. Every time I come im promptly seated but it takes FOREVER to even get a drink order. Also takes so long to be served in general. You can't get anyone's attention either. There's rarely anyone on the floor if you need help. they seem to be short staffed a lot which is so unfair for the servers. On Sunday from 9am-12:30pm there is always a wait. Also when you order it takes longer for your order. Despite the above mentioned problems this restaurant serves great food. I came here with my son, niece, and nieces mom on Christmas and we were attended by Eliz (I am probably spelling that wrong). She is a white old lady. Straight off the bat, she was EXTREMELY rude, kept brushing us off, etc etc. My nieces mom and I are vegetarian so we asked for an impossible burger, and a savory breakfast crepe with no bacon, subbed for an impossible patty. She had told me with a nasty attitude that "oh no, it's 3.99". Looking at me as if I couldn't afford it ? I told her it was fine and then our food came and we cut into it and it was pink. We kind of suspected it was real meat but just ate it because we hadn't ate anything all day so we were hungry. At this time we got switched service with another your guy (he was nice and attentive) and we asked for our check and he bought it out. We looked at it and seen it was real meat ! We felt so disgusted and disrespected n proceeded to ask for a manager. She was a Hispanic with blond hair I believe. She was extremely polite and ended up giving us a discount on the food and offered us a free dessert. It didn't make up for the fact we ate meat. Not sure what's happened with this IHOP recently... Have ordered from here many times in the past and was always satisfied. However the last two time have been horrible. A couple of weeks ago we had a late night delivery.. pancakes were burnt around the edges and just not up to typical standard. I wrote it off as fluke. However this morning we had food delivered and were again disappointed. French Toast undercooked on one side and burnt on the other.. and the egg ordered "over medium" had an over cooked hard yolk. But then the extensive menu choices when your starving makes you crave one of everything So I ended up with an omelette and my crepes. Today I ordered food and was sorely disappointed I ordered chicken and waffle and a milkshake the shake was 7bucks less than 8 Oz I said that's a rip off since the in house glass is 12oz and you get additional shake left in cup. What got me was the way the hostess went on repeating the story all thru the place loudly in Spanish I didn't want it and wished to pay.The supervisor told me that's the size in store and that's the price. Apologies to criticize during COVID, but had to share a recent delivery. Just look at the photos. I understand we have to "build" our own holiday pancakes when being delivered, but we were not even given the toppings on the side. No sprinkles, no creme, nothing. Not only is this extremely unhygienic and insulting to the paying customers, buy he also makes the servers serve these people while knowing that they won't pay. We have been going to IHOP for years, but this was our first visit since they remodeled it in April of 2021. We have had other excellent waiters and waitresses there in the past, but we just had the best service we have ever received last night with our waiter Tony. He was on top of everything we needed (refills, napkins, and syrup requests). It was so lovely to get out to a nice dinner finally and not worry about bad service. He was there to take care of all of our requests. The food was perfect, and we like the new re-designed look of the inside of iHop. I am part of a local crime watch page and corporate needs to know about the transient/drug issue that is affecting our neighborhood and plaza that this IHOP is in. Some of these transients are mentally unstable and have crime records of violence a mile long. This was posted from a community member that had this experience. I will NEVER go to IHOP again if this is the kind of corporate policy that you have. "While eating at the IHOP at Fallbrook Mall today, I noticed a female transient at a nearby table, eating and talking to herself. She wasn't badly dressed, so I thought, "OK, perhaps she might be off her rocker, but they are allowing her to eat there and the waitress was serving her. She must have money to pay for the food." But then, when she finished her meal, she stood up and started to walk out without paying! The manager stopped her before she left the restaurant and asked if she was going to pay, but this woman just smiled and walked out without paying. The manager did nothing. I asked my waitress about this, and she couldn't have been any nicer. She told us her manager allows this to happen, and there's a group of transients that do this on a consistent basis. You could tell the server was not happy about it. I couldn't believe it. How could a store manager consistently let these people come in and eat for free? With their poor hygiene, these transients present a health risk, not to mention the fact that they detract from the IHOP dining experience. I called IHOP customer service to complain, and I'm waiting for a call back. It's irresponsible for the manager to allow this to happen. Odd place for a couple of foodies to be eating, eh? Well, with a family this is where one goes. We've been to this IHOP a few times, mostly for breakfast and it's been like most other IHOPs. Crowded, lousy coffee, but lots of food for cheap. This time it was for mid-week dinner. Why? Well, it's those two kids who made us do it. I was pleasantly surprised. First because it was nearly empyt, and according to the hostess that is fairly normal. Second surprise was how edible the food actually was. Two of us had sirloin tips with sauteed onion and mushroom. Not bad, not bad at all. Kitchen substituted fresh broccoli for the advertized creamed corn. That substitution worked to our advantage! One had a kids meal breakfast. Kitchen made a substitute of bacon for the requested suasage. Again... a substitution that worked in our favor because the bacon was enjoyed a lot. The pot roast was also ordered and enjoyed. As far a service goes, it was quick and efficient. I don't think the waitress ever smiled but I think she might just have one of those sullen personalities. She took good care of us nonetheless. I'll go again if this is what the family desires... and next time it will be without a fight. read more

IHOP is chain "diner" food with a smattering of healthy options and a plethora of unhealthy ones. It's easy to go overboard with all the whipped cream, sugary fruit, greasy hash browns, and more. But it's sooooo good. Pancakes... They're kind of a thing, here. And they're good! Blueberry, chocolate chip, standard buttermilk, on and on it goes. You can get just about any kind if you ask nice enough (except pumpkin, they won't humor me in April). The brioche french toast now on the menu is actually in the running for my favorite option there, specifically the berry option. I really don't like mushy berries steeped in sugar, but I do like the sauce. ... I'm not sure if I'm making my meal healthier or less healthy by not eating them. Sandwiches, salads, and entrees are available if you're headed there for lunch or dinner, but if there were any place that wouldn't judge you for ordering breakfast at dinner time, this would be it. I can't really hype up the ambiance, but the staff is nice enough. If you're craving pancakes (and I know I do!) you should get you some at IHOP. read more
