Uh oh, somebody is getting hangry after traversing the grounds of IKEA for an unexpected five hours. Please don't start a fight with your amor over an armoire, head to the IKEA cafeteria for some meatballs and princess cake before things escalate! Whoever the Chief Lunch Officer (CLO) at IKEA is made the bright decision to only have 5 options for meals. They knew that their patrons would be suffering from decision fatigue by the time they made it to the mess hall. At this point in the day, IKEA has put you through enough mental gymnastics, and you don't want too much variety in which Scandinavian plate to order. So grab whichever meatball derivative product that speaks to you, and take a window seat so that you can vibe out to the sights and sounds of beautiful Renton. If you're coming from Seattle, you've most likely never been here! Why would you need to? It's a gem, folks. You're bound to see hilarious views of shoppers losing control of their carts from above while you rest up for your final push through the store. I was pleasantly surprised by both the traditional meatballs, and the veg balls, which are fairly similar in texture and taste to the standard issue (did they make a mistake?) the lingonberry jam (I'm pretty sure that's what I was eating) adds a nice balance to the balls that is necessary to cut through the fat. The mashed potatoes were just ok, but if you screw those up then you are just a lost cause. A nice gravy blanket then re-invigorates the body, bringing back the calories lost from the 15k steps that you just took through a warehouse that makes Costco look like a dollhouse. Let's be clear that I'm not rating ikea itself as a 3 star establishment here, it's higher. They are doing us all a service by supplying easy to build (well, maybe not easy) furniture at a decent cost. And the store itself is actually fun. But I can't in good faith rate the food higher than 3 stars. It did the job well, but there are certainly no frills. Also, make sure you get yourself a Varmblixt for some warm, ambient light in your household. It will change your life.

Coming from Hawaii, we don't have an IKEA, so a trip here is basically a major event for us! After trekking through what felt like miles of gorgeous room displays, my blood sugar was crashing and we desperately needed to refuel. Enter the IKEA restaurant--our absolute savior. The order line was massive (pro tip: divide and conquer! My husband and son kept shopping while I held down the fort in line). It was incredibly clean, efficient, and so spacious. As a meatball fan, I was in heaven: they have Swedish, plant-based, falafel, and fish balls! Plus, hot coffee and tea are totally free for IKEA family members. We fed three starving people for a mind-blowing $37. We walked out with a dining table, chairs, a dresser, a nightstand, endless organizing bins, and completely full bellies. 10/10, I'd honestly brave the maze again just for the food!

I read somewhere that IKEA serves breakfast but I was unsure of this location served it. We came right when they opened and to our surprised they did have breakfast! Breakfast was great for such a good deal! A good place to stop by if you need to shop at Ikea or in the area!

Located inside IKEA, is plenty of seating and a good spot to grab food before or after shopping. Grabbing your food is cafeteria styled where there are drinks, desserts, and certain dishes you can grab yourself while there are also items you order and receive and put onto your tray. We got the meatballs with double mashed potatoes and the lingonberry and it was simple yet gave a homestyle feeling when eating. Definitely something to grab when craving Swedish meatballs.

I love IKEA. Always went here with my mom as a kid and this time around I went with my girlfriend. Got my go to Meatball and vegetables meal and I loved it. I love the food court here and it has a nice view out the windows especially on a nice sunny day. The shopping experience was very fun as well. We also got some hot dogs at the end at the food stand after the checkout, those were pretty good and only about a $1. So a nice little post shop snack as well.

If you're hungry while shopping at IKEA, drop by their food cafeteria! Although it's not the highest quality food, the pricing and portion is fair and it gets the job done. I had their Mac & cheese and it was okay. Not too much flavor and a bit too mushy for me. I also had their strawberry soft serve on the first floor and it was good. It tasted a lot like strawberry and not too artificial. There's a lot of options from their cafeteria and they look decently good. The cafeteria is pretty big. Lots of seating and they have a huge window that has a decent view of the sky which I liked. The food is self served after choosing your meal, but the staff has been nice with helping me out.

It was nostalgia coming here and having dinner. Had their special dinners with meatballs and sides! Oh and their dessert was soooooooooooo good! I really enjoyed it and would come again. Love this spot! I would give it closer to a 5. I also like their love of their culture. It's cool. They also have a huge area to eat which is nice. Different backdrops and also has cultural information to look at. The service was great too. Easy and friendly servers! Will come again. You can also stop by downstairs and grab cones! Why not?!

I was very impressed with the quality of the food, the environment and the overall price wasn't too much of a hit in the pockets! the chicken tastes great and I highly recommend the chocolate cake!!

I love the IKEA Restaurant. It has great, yummy & affordable food. Lots of seating & has a good vibe. I've been during dinner but this time I went for breakfast. They have the small breakfast for $2.99 and the medium breakfast for $5.99, which I got. Very tasty Swedish breakfast food.

This was fairly disappointing. Firstly it is incredibly slow moving even with both sides of the restaurant open. The bottled drinks weren't stocked very well and there was a quite limited selecting. The first side I waited maybe ten minutes and saw the cold areas sparsely stocked with anything. Wanting for desserts I had opted to get out of line and start over by making my way to the opposite line. Service wasn't all that friendly and they also seemed understaffed for dinner time. As far as food goes the meatballs were great and so were the vegetable balls. The medallions were lovely and truly my favorite way to eat vegetables. The mashed potatoes were dull and tasted like exactly mashed potatoes and nothing more. Finally the drink machine was broken and the syrup was off leaving a cola as just carbonated water on both sides and ice working on only one machine. This IKEA restaurant needs some work.

The Swedish Restaurant saves you from being overwhelmed at IKEA. It's a vital reset from all of the clever products and charming furniture sets that make IKEA famous. Go through the cafe line and select from a delightful array of meats, veggies, soup and desserts. The prices make your meal quite accessible. Nooks and crannies around a large space are awaiting you to bring your bounty with comfortable seating, grand windows and WiFi. I was particularly pleased to see so many options for vegetarians. The staff are ready to answer your questions about each item on the menu. Once you are refreshed you can climb back into the maze of all of those creative "nick nacks" that are sure to enrich your home and workspace.

My newly repotted Peace Lilly and Aloe Vera plants I purchased at IKEA.

Funny that this was my first time ever visiting an IKEA. I lived in Kansas City and never visited that one. I lived in Las Vegas a couple blocks away from that IKEA, and never stepped foot inside that one. I had a friend tell me that they purchased a bedroom furniture set from an IKEA and had to assemble the products themselves. I don't have time nor patience for that. So, the Renton, Washington IKEA was my first ever visit and I must say, I was impressed. I spent about 5 hours looking at everything. I even ate in their restaurant on the upper floor. I did leave with a few purchases and a head full of future ideas. I was super impressed with "how they thought of everything " mentality. Even in the restaurant, for example, they have tray carts that hold 3 trays. Perfect for families to use to navigate cafeteria style food easier from selection to table. Or the As Is section, right near the customer service and check out registers. It's the first day of the New Year and I'm already embarking on organizing the house and repotting new Aloe Vera and Peace Lilly plants I purchased from my IKEA visit. Thank you IKEA! I now know not everything requires assembly. And even if it does, I can pay a little extra to have someone else do that for me. I look forward to visiting again soon.

Great value for pretty solid food! The line was really long but still worth it. Pro tip: if you order the meatballs you can ask to swap the sides for anything other option. In my opinion the mashed potatoes were bland but had good texture.

Friday night, way understaffed. Only one person behind the counter, only one person cashiering. Food was standard as usual, fortunately.

I must say I was not disappointed at all with any of the food choices. The Bun Dau Mam Tom was rich and flavorful with the shrimp paste, which complimented the meat and vegetables that came with it. The Banh Beo was nice and savory, which offered a bit of oily kick! The Banh Xeo was nice and crispy. These oily options paired nicely with the cool and refreshing sugarcane. Parking is easy with a huge lot out front and they sell some Viet street food along their drink menu. They have a small seating area next to the prep area with low stools to really nail the street food vibe, but the AC wasn't super strong in the building. We pulled up during the heat wave a while back on a Saturday afternoon and honestly had a pretty decent line the whole time we were there, we ended up waiting 20+ minutes. If you've never had sugarcane juice before, it's actually not overly sweet in spite of it's name and somehow manages to be extremely refreshing. I'd be prepared to drop 10 bucks per drink, but they are absolutely delicious. Highly recommend all the fruity sugarcane juices, but my personal go-to is the kumquat version which adds just the right amount of sour kick to balance out the flavor.
