Pretty darn good! I've always had an affinity for Swedish meatball (even the frozen Banquet meals), and if you're in the mood for some good Swedish meatballs, look no further than IKEA. Luckily I live close to the one in Houston's Spring Branch so we frequent it often. Note: the dining area and parking lot are fairly empty on weekdays; try to avoid weekends unless you like large crowds. The Swedish meatball plate comes with 8 meatballs, mashed potatoes, gravy, peas, cranberry sauce, and a cute Swedish flag on a toothpick. Overall, the flavors are good. Peas are bland. Gravy is OK. But the meatballs are great. What are they made of? I actually have no idea and probably don't wanna know. The only reason for the 4 star review is that the prices have gone up quite a bit in recent past so it's not really a great value anymore. The meatball plate will cost you $8.50. If you're an IKEA member (it's free to join), you can get a free coffee so that's a plus. Service is fine. Lastly they recently renovated the entire dining area so it's quite nice. Almost too bright. I haven't eaten at IKEA in a very long time but since they were celebrating their 40th anniversary by selling their entree (5 piece meatball, mashed potatoes, and veggies) for $2.99, my friend and I thought why not. Honestly, thank goodness it only cost $2.99 because I would be... in an unpleasant mood if I paid more than that lol. The mashed potato and veggies were so flavorless- the only reason why they were edible was because of the gravy that came with the meatballs but even then, it's barely mid. The meatballs on the other hand were yummy! I ended up getting an a la cart for just the meatballs (they sell either 4 or 5 meatballs for around $1.50) and a garlic toast on top. The garlic toast is also just okay. If I were to go back next time, I would just stick to the meatballs. read more

I don't know what made me believe that coming here to grab dinner and shop for a new dresser was a great idea because it was not. I ordered their last piece of salmon with peas and mashed potatoes and my BF ordered the 12 Swedish meatballs with the same sides as mine plus a side of mac n cheese. I could definitely feel the unwell environment from not only the staff but the food. After we paid and sat we were disappointed of not having any ice in the ice machine, which is fine I rather have water without ice anyways and then once we tried our best to eat what we could we were immediately shut down that there is no to go containers which we later find out it was blessing. Hungry. Why am I always hungry before shopping at IKEA and after shopping? Hunger is killing me. I can't control it. The aroma puffed right through my mask. I can't remember when IKEA Restaurant reopened after months of Covid-19 restaurant lockdown. Company took extreme measure to protect employees and customers. I remember I received an email about they closed March 2020. Few stores reopened in June 2020, but not this one. Then, I came to shop at IKEA prior. Again, can't remember when. But I remember the restaurant operation was closed. What a bummer. Because I read the advertisement about Swedish Meatballs and I wanted some. Love coming here! Lots of options to choose from meatballs to plant based. Currently having the Ikea Family card nets you a 15% discount thru Aug. My go to item is always the Swedish Meatballs with that gravy and ligonberry sauce. It comes with mashed potatoes and broccoli. I also opted for the apple crisp pastry and caesar salad and a unique side item I've never seen before but it was quite delicious a stuffed broccoli cheese and rice side dish forgot what it is called. IKEA is a restaurant in a big blue building on I-10. Value is the name of the game. Two of us got dinner with apple cider tallboys for under $20. For the price, it's really hard to beat. Like all of the other services in this large blue building, expect great pricing but limited options. Meatballs, salmon, and chicken tenders were pretty much the only things on the menu that night, and the soda machine was down. Go. On. Fridays! The best bang for your buck meals you will ever have! Me and my wife managed to try their entire entree menu with sides and dessert for about $30. The meatballs were good, veggie meatballs were yummy, cod was DELICIOUS (my personal favorite), salmon was also yummy, mac and cheese was quite good, chicken tender and fries were great. Of course these aren't going to be 3 Michelin star-quality food but the fact that you can get each dish for $4 on Fridays and it's not greasy or oily while still tasting delicious is why I give Ikea the rating it deserves. Service is friendly. Ambiance is nice. What more can I say. (Their cakes SLAP btw. Get the almond cake, trust me.) There were a line of customer, mainly older women in LINE to use a single restroom, that was filty and could not be utilize. We both ordered the meatball combo plate with steamed mixed veggies and masked potatoes from the steamed table. The foods tasted kind of bland. I really needed some ground black peppers to spice it up. However the prices were very affordable. $6.99 for 8 meatballs combo and $7.99 for 12 meatballs combo. Love Ikea. Shopping for a few items for my new, not finished yet, Cottage for my son, but found stylish items he will love. He picked them out! I need a piece the Almond Cake from walking and to take a breath. The Almond cake was delicious so when I had a Doctor's appt we ran by to buy a whole one and he is if the stools he wants were in stock yet. I love visit every nook and cranny when we go. I've had the food at Ikea many times. My girlfriend is remodeling her kitchen and we have made many trips there. The coffee isn't good and it's free for IKEA family members. I will drink it but I will never buy their coffee. The Swedish meatballs are a cheap but funky meal. It gets the job done and it's very affordable.The chicken strips are just okay. All the desserts I've had there were basically passable. I will eat at Ikea if I'm there for a long time and get hungry. The store is the place to go for dorm furniture, etc, but skip the breakfast at the restaurant. Yes, it's very inexpensive, but the eggs served on the special were the powdered variety. There is no way to make these appealing. And although powdered eggs may be made with real eggs, I don't know, they just didn't have the proper consistency, they were soupy. First time to visit the food court. I have seen a number of reviews online and thought I would give it a go. IKEAs signature dish is the sweedish meatballs with gravy, mash and veg, so that is what I went with along with a coffee. Overall the food is average institution food. The meatballs were a bit on the peppery side, but good. The gravy was smooth and nice flavor. The veg were a bit over cooked, but not bad. Mash was what mash should be. Service was a bit slow. They have desserts, meatballs, ribs, smoked salmon, drinks, etc. They even have a kids menu. Swedish and chicken meatballs with mash potatoes an longanberry sauce! Enough said! They're delicious when you take one and dip it in your mash potatoes and then some longanberry sauce. Smoked salmon lax - smoked salmon with mixed greens and a side of dill dressing. Bork Bork Bork! Ja! Der Svedish Meatballs ist good! I like how this is such a popular place to eat, right in the middle of the Ikea furniture store. It's a welcome respite after wandering from living room to den to bedroom to bathroom. It's nice to be able to sit down, and enjoy some weird sodas, Swedish Meatballs, and some mashed potatoes. The Princess Cake is always a bonus too. It's not a very expensive place to eat, you get filled up, even though the portion sizes aren't huge. I don't go out of my way to go here, just when I need to stock up on Billy Bookcases, or Flurg floor covers. The place is always clean, but they charge you for things like to-go containers. Be sure to bus your own table. Apparently, that's how they keep the costs down. They sell most of the food that they serve just past the checkout area downstairs by the exit. I've heard that IKEA doesn't really make any money on the food here, in fact they lose cash on the deal- they just want to keep you in the store and shopping, instead of having to leave when you get hungry. I am probably being generous by awarding IKEA restaurant with even 2 stars, but there is some value here and the lingonberry juice at the soda fountain was pretty decent as well. After perusing the store for nearly an hour, I ended up dining here afterwards, just before the restaurant closed at 8pm on a weekday. I ordered the last serving of the Swedish meatballs ($5.99) which included mashed potatoes with brown gravy and a small spoonful of lingonberry jam. The meatballs were nothing special and some were even dry so I dipped them in the brown gravy. The potatoes didn't taste real, but I wasn't expecting them to be either. We also ordered the smoked salmon dish, for around $5, and this was actually pretty decent, especially when dipped in the mustard. Overall, this food was by no means gourmet, so don't expect just because it's Swedish that it is anything special or unique. It reminded me of when I was in High School, and it gave a very cafeteria-like feeling. I doubt I will ever come back and eat here, but it's just an experience to try at least once in your lifetime. read more

The food is ok, but my favorites were the different flavored waters; lingonberry was a nice alternative. I saw a surprising amount of people using laptops like this was a study hall.
