I love ikea and love stopping for lunch. Lines were long bc ppl won't park their carts. The food staff is very friendly and the food was nice and hot. You can bc also pick how many meatballs you'd like. I just got 8. Got a drink but did a mix of fizzy raspberry and fizzy lemon. It was really good.

Beware, the meatballs gave me food poisoning! I had everything the same as someone else that day except she got the plant balls and I got the swedish meatballs. Avoid...

The Havana Chicken was alright. There wasn't much flavor on the beans and rice. The chicken itself was cooked the right amount but didn't have too much seasoning either. It's not a huge portion considering it costed only $10. I much preferred the Swedish meatballs meal. This is their signature dish for a reason. The meatballs have a nice consistency and are well seasoned. The sides also reminded me of Thanksgiving food. The structure of the restaurant is like a cafeteria. An employee comes around every now and then to wipe down the tables. You're expected to clean up after yourself and put the trays into the tray area.

    All tables looked like this.

The better question is what could be worse? Basically everything not available, including meatballs. Employee working made it very apparent she would rather be not working. Tables all dirty, in fact the entire restaurant area was nasty. This is certainly not the IKEA experience I've had in the past.

10/22/23 Here we go, Back again, Eat some food, Feel great again. Did you every come to IKEA just for the food. Today this was our mission. The side mission don't really matter, but we might do some soul searching since we are here. The Vegetarian Meatballs vs the Swedish Meatballs...?! Both are magically delicious. However, to answer the question, the Vegetarian Meatballs came ahead by half a point. The Sparkling Apple Juice vs Sparkling Pear Juice. The Pear Juice wins. I can't forget about the Mac and cheese either. The Mac and cheese isn't the best I had in the world, it is something I have to get a sample of each time I am here. Yes folks, We were only here for the food and bot for shopping at IKEA. Hard to believe, but it does happen. I am sure we will be back another day to do both shopping and eating. Until then...

I always have to stop by and get food after walking around shopping for furniture. After all, the Swedish meatballs are one of the main motivators for coming here. The food here is pretty average. It can be a hit or miss sometimes, but regardless the taste and flavor for everything is pretty average. It won't blow you away or anything. The Food: I got the 8-piece Swedish meatballs with some mixed veggies and mashed potatoes. The meatballs were good. The vegetables were quite bland and lacked flavor which was almost inedible. Mash potatoes were fine. I also got a piece of salmon fillet and that was surprisingly tender and tasty. The Service: The service was good. The staff were friendly and everything was very clean inside.

I have always loved coming to Ikea as a kid. Eating the Swedish meatballs is always nostalgic. I have always loved the meatballs, gravy, and lingonberry jam. They all mix very well. The mashed potatoes are also decent like average. They did not have broccoli this time so I was able to switch it or some french fries which are nice to dip in the gravy. Overall, the food is yummy as always but it was served a little cold which made it taste less good. I think the food was worth it in the past but now prices have raised. I paid $7-8 for this plate which used to be $5.

I have officially fulfilled my childhood dream. I vividly remember watching Buzzfeed's "People Try Ikea Meatballs" and made it my life's mission to try them. I initially thought that you just get 12 meatballs but was pleasantly surprised that the mash, jam, and veggies were included. I added a side salad and Texas toast to complete my meal. The meatballs were spectacular- juicy and tender. The mash was creamy and buttery, the jam wasn't overly sweet or overpowering, and veggies are always delicious. The gravy really glued everything together to create a scrumptious meal. I was completely stuffed afterwards. I wish every high/middle school would model the dining area of IKEA. It was such a comfortable and welcoming environment. I also love how its conveniently located at the end of the IKEA maze for a nice reward after what seems like hours of walking. Love love IKEA and I wish they would make one located closer to me :)

The staff couldn't have been more rude if they were put through an orientation on how to be a total jerk. Rebecca was our server in the food cattle line & I have never seen a human in more dire need of a attitude adjustment. Just horrible. IKEA, you pay her for that attitude? The food is equivalent to a Swanson's TV dinner. Save your money & the abuse & skip this one.

If you like Mac and cheese IKEA's is to die for! Since moving up to VA and ikea being 40 mins away, my boyfriend and I have been coming almost every weekend and while we're here looking for some shelf, we always stop for lunch. The veggie meatballs are and always love their lemon water. Also with the family discount you can get a free coffee! But like $2 mac and cheese side that's like huge? You cannot beat and I totally recommend all their desserts. I hope I'm not fan-girling to much but check out ikea's restaurant!

Always a pretty good eat when we stop by. Chicken tenders pretty crunchy and yummy. Building up that energy for making all my new furniture

My first time eating at IKEA, and i was surprised at how cheap the meatballs were! All the items are at an affordable price and the quality is pretty decent! A good place to eat after an IKEA trip.

I like the store and most of the products (Though shame on you IKEA for removing the Ektorp line…read morefrom North America and replacing it with the inferior Uppland line, yet continue carrying it overseas.) however their delivery vendors need better vetting. I have had extremely bad experiences twice - once in 2016 and now in December 2025. In 2016, I was given a delivery window and they did not show. I allowed a two hour grace period because I lived in Fredericksburg and IYKYK. But at hour four, I started looking for ways to contact the vendor. Back then, you could call customer service and get them to call the vendor and have them call you. The vendor called and said delivery was attempted but they could not locate the residence and I did not answer when they called. Not true. If you ever have waited for something like a scheduled delivery or service call, YOU SIT BY YOUR PHONE, RIGHT??? No missed calls. I asked to speak to the driver who then said they would have left it out front, but it did not look like a good area. In front of what? If the could not find it, how would they know what the area looked like. I sent photos of my street to show the management my side of the argument- they should have been able to locate it. Especially since I described the location in detail in delivery instructions along with my phone number if they had questions. My delivery fee was not returned and I declined redelivery. I went to IKEA in three trips and 50 year old, 5ft , girly me with no coordination and even less upper body strength dragged in two dressers, a cabinet, two bookcases, and a desk. Fast forward (or not) to today. My delivery window was 8-12. At 1:30 I tracked the delivery through the app, but all it gave me was the time window. It did give me the option to text the driver. I chose the custom text option (you can choose to have the driver call you or send them a custom text) and texted them to please let me know when they'd be arriving. At 1:45, chose the call me option. At 2:00, I texted, "CONTACT ME BY 2:15 TO TELL ME WHEN YOU WILL BE HERE OR THE TIP THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN CUT IN HALF WILL BE ZERO!" At 2:30, I get a text saying, "Sorry for the delay. On my way." I asked "When?" Thirty minutes later he texts back between 4-5 - when I can't be home. So he will have to leave it outside the garage and I'll get to drag it in then unbox and move pieces in bit by bit. I understand that things run behind (thus the two hour buffer). But if you can't deliver until 4 or 5pm (It's the DC Metro area...Vaya con Dios) then DON'T SAY BETWEEN 8am-12pm. If you can, order online and go pick it up at the order pick up queue. Much less of a headache.

Wait... IKEA sells FURNITURE?!…read more Just kidding. But, I swear we come here for the restaurant more than the housewares these days! IKEA is known for lower cost DIY chairs and bookcases, but their in-store restaurant is not to be a missed. A destination in and of itself! Granted the prices have gone up significantly over the years (remember when a plate of meatballs was just five bucks, including the sides?!), but one has to make allowances for inflation of course. What I appreciated was that they now have multiple options for how large of a plate you want. They have different pricing for the number of meatballs you order. And they have a wider selection of items than ever before as well. I could drink my weight in lingonberry juice though, and no other place has it! That's the novelty that keeps me coming back. Their staff is usually friendly and helpful. Tables are self-bused, but it's a small task for a reasonably priced meal. For less than 10 bucks a person, it's still one of the best values in the area. Plus, the quality is almost always top notch. Well worth the stop, even if you don't need furniture!

We got the usual Swedish meatballs with peas and mashed potatoes, and they always the best meal! The 2nd meal is the chicken with black beans and fried banana, this is new for us but amazingly delicious! The chicken is soft and tender, all the herbs marinated well inside and out, the black beans are soaked and filled with the soup. The fried banana is the perfect side dish to complement the meal, they are sweet savory and crunchy at the same time. The 3rd meal is the chicken wrap in vegetable, also delicious and very filling despite the size. The warping are at the maximum of the wrapper, so full with everything inside. Don't underestimate them. The next side dish is a must, the french fries is awesome! Crispy and crunchy at the same time, full with flavor! The serving line for the restaurant went smoothly and pretty fast. For the dessert, always get their ice cream at the cafe in the ground floor. Most of the food at Marcus was delicious, but a couple dishes could use some tweaks, service was…read moreonly okay, and the dessert course was a letdown. It's well worth a visit and has 5-star potential. I visited on a Saturday with a group of four at 6:30 PM; prime time. The place was busy but not full, especially not the bar, which was empty most of the time (maybe start happy hour?). We were seated on one side of a very long, very solid wood table. It reminded me of that movie trope where two people try to have a conversation from opposite ends of a huge table. Fortunately, we were all seated together. The opposite end was used for another group, much later on. We kept wondering who would arrive and be our sort-of dinner companions. First, a round of cocktails. The Brown Butter Soul ($16) was a standard whiskey sour; it didn't look or taste like its name, or bring anything new to the table, so it was a disappointment. It also looked identical to the Solara ($17), except for the latter's tomato garnish. The Abyssinian Blaze ($17), on the other hand, was like a negroni but with berbere spice on the back, giving it a novel taste. I'd order that one again. Everything on the menu sounded great. We knew we had to get the cornbread and the crab rice, but other things were TBD. The Blue Cornbread ($12 for two pieces) was excellent -- an attractive brown color outside, a grey-blue inside, texture moist but not crumbly, and most of all delicious with the yassa butter accompaniment. Yassa (a West African dish prepared with onions, lemon or mustard) was a new flavor for me, and it was great. The Steak Tartare ($23) was one of the better interpretations I've had recently. It was a surprisingly colorful dish, for a tartare, thanks to tiny, pure white mushrooms, dark red onion jam, yellow egg yolk, and orange spices in the steak. The brown bread that came with it was also great. We all enjoyed the restaurant's riff on an everything bagel + lox, the Smoked Fish Pate ($23). It was another colorful dish, well presented, if a fairly traditional take. The everything lavash was fun and tasty. Another seafood dish was Tuna Crudo ($25, ~5 pieces of fish). It was good but not too different from other crudos. It came with slices of kiwi, but only three to go with the five slices of fish. While the main dish was an attractive mix of red and green, the dark yellow sauce on the side of the bowl was a bit off putting. The Cuttlefish Tortelloni ($40, 5 tortelloni) was great with its lobster emulsion. You could have put any filling inside and it would have been good. The Crispy Sweet Potato ($13) with some creme fraiche and roe was good, but only interesting if you got everything together. The ratios were a bit off -- too much potato -- so that when you are passing it around your group, it's too easy to not get enough toppings. Finally, the Crab Rice ($68) with mushroom, pickled alligator pear, and uni bearnaise. We were divided on this dish. Some people loved it, others did not; all the components blended together into a single flavor, which I liked, but I also found very acidic and one-note. The acidic flavors paired well with the sweet potato side dish. I couldn't taste any crab or individual ingredients. It felt more like a tasty side dish than a main course. I would eat it again, but I would want a different protein that stands out more. Our dessert course started off on a confusing and disappointing note. A few days before, the Marcus Instagram account posted about a "Mumbo Sauce Salted Caramel Ice Cream" which was featured in a Food & Wine magazine article. Guess what? It's not available. In fact, our server had never heard of it. We had to show them the Instagram post to convince them to ask the kitchen about it; they didn't have it. Why are you advertising something on your Insta (and getting national media attention) for something you don't have? C'mon. Dessert brought the Strawberry Breton and Buttermilk Tart ($15 each). The breton was not good, and I would not have identified it as a breton. The pastry was dense and too thick. The strawberry sauce was the main flavor. The net result tasted like a strawberry Pop-Tart, so it tasted good enough, but wasn't appropriate for a $15 restaurant dessert. The Buttermilk Tart was a very good rendition, although the green tomato sorbet didn't taste as interesting as it sounded. This ended up being a lot of food for four people, so we had about half of the crab rice and some of the potato left over. The check came with four tiny house-made gummy fish -- their take on Swedish fish. This was a sweet note, but not enough to make up for the previous dessert disappointments.

A month later we still did not have the table. When I called the store, the customer service was poor, with folks blaming it on "the national crisis with drivers." One person was as rude as to say, "Maybe you have heard of this." I asked to speak to the manager, who is also the owner, Sean, and after my third call, he did finally call me back. Two weeks later--more than a month late from when it was first promised--the table was delivered. Without the parts necessary to assemble it. I was told by the driver it would take another "week or two" to get back over with the parts and to assemble. When I called Sean to describe the situation, he told me I should have accepted the table, and that "he would have worked out a solution." When I pointed out that I had lost faith in them, after several cancellations from the delivery service, and the table arriving a month late, his response, the ultimate passive-aggressive retort: "I am sorry you feel that way." I have photos of the salad! They are supposed to use the bigger round bowl for family sized salads! This rectangle bowl is much smaller. And, they didn't pack it nearly full of romaine! Much of the romaine that is in the bowl is discolored & bad! I am beyond dissatisfied. I'm angry. This is NOT even close for a $35 salad! We need more romaine & more dressing! I have stupidly spent far too much at this place. Corporate needs to get involved. Every time we order, the bag is way over packed -- ever think of using 2 or more bags?! -- and liquids are NEVER secured! I have experienced countless deliveries with soup, salad dressing & the oil for bread turned upside down, pouring out of the bottom & bottom side of the bags! My Uber driver even told them tonite to make sure the bag was assembled correctly. They added 4 staples at the top of the bag!!! How is that going to help my delivery?! Are U serious?! One of the managers, Alex, is nice. But, our deliveries are still arriving WRONG! He drove to deliver salad dressing once that was completely eliminated from my bag. We ordered the family size salads! And, I always order an extra bowl of dressing. Again tonite, I got just 1 bowl of dressing! Where's my second one?! And, where's the romaine?! The pricing is astronomical for these sloppy things to keep happening. Alex/other managers, U need to do 3 things: o Tell your staff to READ ORDERS before preparing them! (Why do they keep leaving out the 2 orders of salad dressing I order?! It happened again tonite.) o Tell your kitchen staff CONSISTENCY MATTERS! (Prepare decent sized portions & make sure portions are exactly the same per order!) NOTE: We got chicken & fries a few days ago & it was crazy! We ordered a bunch of them for the family. Two orders were acceptable -- they had a decent amount of chicken and fries. The other 3 orders were awful! There were barely any fries in them & the chicken was in tiny, little pieces. Another example, we ordered a focaccia loaf a couple days ago. It arrived warm & soft. Ordered 2 more tonite & it arrived cold and hard. What the frick is going on?! How hard is it for staff to execute their jobs professionally?! CONSISTENCY MATTERS! o Buy THICK CARDBOARD INSERTS to put in the bottom of delivery bags! I'm done having my soup, salad dressing & oil for bread leaking out of the bags! It gets all over the food items inside the bag, it gets on the Uber driver & in their cars. And, I'm out the proper amount of soup, salad dressing & oil that I ordered & paid for. Does any of this make sense?! If staff don't care -- it shows -- just close down the restaurant.
