It was the week of spring break, and we decided to have a short vacation in Las Vegas to see the Wizard of Oz. What a magnificent recreation of the original movie, using AI to bring everything to life in this new rendition. From wind and sound effects to leaves falling from trees, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. And along with everything that goes with an experience of Las Vegas, there are some great restaurants available there. The day before, we had dinner at II Fornaio we had a great steak dinner at Gallagher's. Everything from the meal we had to the service was excellent, and we couldn't have been happier. And on the second night we were there, we decided to try Il Fornaio at the New York-New York hotel. As we arrived, we were greeted by a very pleasant host and promptly seated at the booth we had requested. Shortly after that, our waiter arrived and brought us menus. Once the waiter returned, I had a question with regards to ordering a dinner salad. He rudely flipped the menu open and pointed out an area and said, " This is what we have. " He then stuck his finger in different sections of the menus, saying this is the pasta section, this is the seafood section, and so on, as if we didn't have the ability to read the menu or comprehend what it was. He then left and came back a few minutes later to take our order. I then ordered the Linguine Mare Chiaro, and as soon as I was finished ordering, he said to me, "Do you know that's seafood?" What a sarcastic, unwanted remark from him. All in all, it was a great meal, and we enjoyed the food, but the waiter's flippant remarks were unnecessary and left us feeling negative about the experience at that restaurant. We decided to stop here on our way to the Cirque Du Soleil show we were going to that evening. Lucky us, we made it just in time for their Happy Hour and it was perfect for us. Not being that hungry the options were great ! We started with the Calamari which was so fresh. Then the wood fired oven pizza ! so good !! Our main server was great but that's not the best part. We had two other servers stop by and ask if we needed anything. And actually a different server that brought me a fresh iced tea before I ran out. Amazing service by all... I've eaten here, at the bar, three times in the past three months and each time has been great! LOVE the happy hour (at the bar, everyday, 3-6pm) with delicious food and drink specials. Great bartenders and servers, fun ambiance (right on the edge of the casino) and good tvs for watching games. Can also sit farther down, on the kitchen side, and watch the amazing food be put together by the chefs and pizzas go into the huge stone oven - very entertaining! I came to this restaurant inside NYNY for my best friend's 30th birthday dinner and it was really nice! The servers were very attentive and kind, one of them was in training but she was very sweet and working hard. The restaurant is unfortunately pretty exposed to the lobby/casino area so even though we were seated fairly far from the entrance, I could periodically smell a little bit of cigarette smoke - I hate it, and have asthma so I'm very sensitive to it :( nonetheless, the food tasted very good and the times I wasn't catching whiffs of cigarette smoke I really enjoyed the experience! We all had different types of pasta and shared, everything was very good. The prices were too bad either for a nice sit down place, I would say pretty standard. And I definitely left very, very full. I would certainly come back here again for another dinner if on the strip and wanting Italian! read more

Service was super slow, sat for an hour before getting our food and the waiter blamed it on the kitchen, yet everyone around us got their food before us. They were on top of water refills and the food tasted good but the ravioli seemed a bit pricey for the portion. My best friend and I popped into this restaurant for happy hour while we waited for our other friend to get in from the airport. I loved the fresh, clean atmosphere(smelled no smoke). Our wait staff was very attentive even though it got to be pretty busy). She was funny, engaging, and just overall great! We were seated on the "indoor-patio", right beside the slot machines, with plenty of "people watching" to enjoy, It's interesting to see this beautiful restaurant ... seemingly plucked from Italy and dropped right into the NYC NYC hotel in Vegas! With our meal, we ordered two appetizers: The Bruschette Assortite and the Calamaretti Fritti; they were both delicious... and possibly the BEST Calamari we have ever tasted; it was melt-in-your-mouth tender too!! Then came the POLO TOSCANO, which had so many delicious layers of goodness! Tender chicken, perfectly roasted potatoes, and cauliflower to round off the plate of goodness! And the TAGLIATELLE BOLOGNESE, which was perfectly cooked, presented, and full of Italian goodness! The atmosphere was great, the service was excellent, and the food portions were plentiful! We were excited to eat at this Italian restaurant. We had eaten here before but it had been several years since our last visit. A lot has changed. My husband and I weren't super hungry and we had reservations at another restaurant later in the day so we decided to order the Burrata appetizer and split the chicken Parmesan. The Burrata was pretty good. It was a different take on Barta instead of a balsamic glaze. There was a basil pesto sauce and it was served with arugula. We did enjoy the Burrata. Unfortunately, the quality of the chicken on the chicken parmesan was not equivalent to the price. The chicken was spongy, chewy and tasted processed. I am not sure if our order sat in the window for quite some time but normally chicken Parmesan has a crunchy coating on the outside. Our breading was very soggy. If you are looking for a great chicken parmesan Superfrico in the Cosmopolitan hands-down has the best chicken Parmesan. I did not see bread on the menu and no one brought us any, but it would have been great to have had a side of bread to dip in the extra sauce. Another table came in as we were just finishing and they were brought bread. Our server was friendly, but may have seemed a little irritated that we did not order two entrées. Disappointing and Overpriced Yes we're in the new Las Vegas and a Casino but I dine at a steakhouse very nearby and feel I understand the value of what I get in Las Vegas. And this is not it. Carpaccio- small, bland, more capers on my bagel and smear, no cracked pepper, too much shaved parm. As a lover of Mom & Pop Italian eateries I suggest you choose another appetizer. Gnocchi with boar ragu- good, fluffy, great sauce, but a small portion for the price. Again we have an undervalued situation. Service at the bar was nonexistent. Polite? Absolutely. Attentive? Absolutely not. When my carpaccio arrive I expected someone to offer me fresh cracked pepper. No. I had to ask. When the pasta arrived I expected someone to offer me some freshly grated Parmesan. Nope. Was actually ignored. The only time someone came by was to refill my wine glass. And $5 for bread? 4 slices and some olive oil/balsamic in a plate immediately removed after it was poured. A guest next to me asked for cheese and was charged $5 for "extra cheese". This is nickel and dimeing. Time are hard but some of us remember. Here I'm being picky but a stemmed wine glass will never "sweat" below the bulb and never needs a beverage napkin. Save the planet and a cent by loosing the bevnap. I'm not sure where the best Italian restaurant is in Las Vegas but for the money you should look elsewhere. I will not return which is a shame as I stay in the NYNY often. My vote will not swing the majority and that's ok. Try it if you like and make your own opinion. read more

We ended up in the New York, New York to check out their restaurants and found Il Fornaio. What a fantastic spot, it was a pretty little restaurant with great food and service. This restaurant is amazing! The front desk was quick to see us and inquired if we would be OK sitting at the bar. We were very happy with that accommodation. The bartenders were both very engaging and stayed in constant contact throughout our experience. The manager also made a couple of stops to ensure that we were having a wonderful dinner. We started with some cocktails and then moved quickly into the calamari. The dish is flavorful, but the rings were a little bit rubbery. Still good. I had the grilled salmon which was prepared to a perfect mid rare. The Kitchen was also willing to make their mushroom cream sauce pasta as a side dish for us to share. It was incredible. We finished off with the bread pudding, which is also very delicious. We were going to see mad apple and the staff was sure to give us a full dining experience where we didn't feel rushed, but had plenty of time to get to the show. The restaurant in barba are both beautiful and well maintained. I will gladly have another meal here on my next visit to the strip. read more

We were quickly seated without a reservation, but it did take some time for the server to come over to us to grab our drink order. Since it's within the casino, the ambiance is the typical noises which I would have preferred a more Italian atmosphere. As for the food, there was nothing special about the food and we left feeling the price point was a little high for the quality of food. Definitely not a bad meal, but nothing stellar to remember. Note: you can request balsamic for the Caprese that made the salad stand out a bit more in my opinion. read more

Ordered the Linguine Mare Chiaro ($36). The name promises coastal Italy. What arrived tasted more like seafood that forgot why it was here. To be fair, the pasta itself was cooked just fine -- no complaints there. Unfortunately, the seafood was dry, chewy, and completely unseasoned, and the white wine sauce had all the personality of plain water with commitment issues. Clams, mussels, shrimp, scallops... everyone showed up, nobody contributed. For $36, I expected bright, garlicky, briny flavor. Instead, it looked good and tasted like the seasoning stayed home. The one bright spot: our server was great -- friendly, attentive, and clearly trying to save the situation. Service was solid, food was not. As a local, I've been to Il Fornaio a few times, but this visit truly stood out. We came in to celebrate a birthday, and from the moment we were seated, Michelle made the entire experience feel special. She was incredibly attentive, warm, and genuinely kind throughout the night. One of the highlights was her recommendation of the bistecca -- and wow, it did not disappoint. It was cooked perfectly, full of flavor, and easily one of the best dishes I've had there. What really made the night memorable, though, was how Michelle went above and beyond to help us celebrate. She was so accommodating and made sure the birthday felt acknowledged in a thoughtful and seamless way, without it ever feeling forced or overdone. The staff was very friendly and welcoming for a birthday meal. The service was verrrrrrryyyyyyy slow for us, as we saw other guests come in after us, dine, and leave before us, although we had the same server. We started with the burrata with prosciutto and crostini but it ended up having a piece of plastic in it so we sent it back. To correct the mistake, the restaurant both took the appetizer off and offered us free bread and a replacement, but we declined the replacement. I had the lasagna which was very cheesy and creamy with the Béchamel sauce. Needed a little bit of salt but was very filling. The restaurant gave me the free dessert and the wafers were so good! For 3 people, the total was ~$130, so not bad at all. Enjoyed the evening but I have had better. read more

Needed a table for 8 and they got us right in. Service was great. We never had an empty glass. Truly, they are on top of glasses and dirty dishes. The food was top notch. My Daughter had the Spaghetti Bolognese and there was an abundance of meat sauce. She loved it! My husband tried all of ours and said "there isn't a bad meal on this table, we have to come back here" Everyone loved their meal, not one complaint. We came here looking for Italian food for dinner. After looking at the menu online, we decided this would be the place. We had a wonderful dinner. Sylvia was our server and she took great care of us. I forgot to take pictures, but we had the pear Gorgonzola salad. We had the cauliflower appetizer and we had the seafood pasta with bread to soak up the sauce! Our dinner was not rushed. Sylvia brought our courses out one by one. It was clean and very maintained. Our server was good and very attentive. The food was okay. The bolognese was fine. I have had much better versions else where but this was not bad. And the pizza was average. The cheese on the pizza and sauce was nothing special. The best was the linguini seafood pasta that we ordered. I am not sure I would eat here again, it was not bad but if you walk a little more to Park MGM and eat at the Italian restaurant in Eataly I think it's much better quality and price is not much different. read more

Located inside NYNY Casino right off the main casino floor. This outlet of the large chain gives you what you'd expect food wise, though leaves a bit to be desired. There is a large indoor space with a decent sized "patio" that let you feel as you're part of the casino as people pass by and you hear the slot machines. One theme brought up by others is the charge for bread. $5 for a basket of bread is a bit out there, even for Vegas. I must say the fresh warm ciabatta bread was delicious with either butter or olive oil and vinegar. I could live with the charge for the portion size, though should be $2, or $3 max since almost every Italian restaurant provides the bread for free with your meal. Moving onto the food, none of the pasta dishes we ordered were outstanding and rather plain for the price point, even expecting Vegas pricing. Honestly, I'd prefer Olive Garden to this. If you're looking for an easy option and don't want to venture out of the hotel when you're already there, it's a decent option, though in a town full of amazing food options, why settle. read more
