My friends invited me to dinner at the Aria's seafood restaurant called the catch. I love how it is decorated as if you are entering a garden Oasis. We were quickly seeded to our table and our waiter William explained all the items on the menu. My first order was a glass of their sparkling rose. I've been ordered two appetizers for my main meal. I thoroughly enjoyed the signature dish truffled sashimi. I love the smokiness and richness of the truffle oil the fish was perfectly seasoned and exquisitely cut. I highly recommend you try this dish. The next thing I ordered was the Hellcat spicy tuna roll which had a really great flavor and was nicely plated. My side item to compliment this dish was there garlic fries which came out hot fresh and lightly salted. We did run into a hiccup when it came to billing as our server William over billed us on one dish five times. This was quite a big mistake because this is not a menu that has lightly priced items. Once this was brought to the attention of the waiter he took the bill and corrected it however he did not give any other explanation or any other pleasantries due to the heir of the restaurant in overbilling us. It almost makes me wonder if this has happened to other guests and they didn't notice it. Catch never disappoints. Even though we're from SoCal with Catch LA nearby, the family and I prefer Catch Las Vegas. The food never disappoints nor does the service. Everyone puts up pics of the entry, it's very pretty and long. We had a 7 pm reservation and showed up 655, checked in and then waited until about 710 before we were seated. It was jamming on a Monday night. All the Vegas is dead talk had not made it here for sure. Service was slow, we waited about 10 mins before a server came by to welcome us and take outlet drink order. Was a while before we got the drinks and were able to put some food in. We ordered the premium nigiri flight (110) that comes with all the special nigiri on the menu. Also got the catch roll (25) and the MRC roll (24). We added sea urchin sashimi (25) salmon sashimi (17) and hamachi sashimi (16). All were amazing, really fresh and the premium options were delicious. Unique presentation for each one, including Wagyu with caviar. Yumm. We added a half dozen east coast oysters (29) and the rice cake appetizer (31) along with the king salmon entree (45) to round out the meal. Everything was spiced perfectly until the end, then we got the oysters, rice cakes and salmon pretty much at the same time. Sucked down the oysters so I could get to my hot entree. Salmon was very good, came with green beans and an edamame purée. Cooked perfectly and very tasty We waited a while before anyone came by to clear the dishes and offer dessert. We decided to pass, took so long we just wanted to get up, too old to sit for so long lol. They sent us some cookies for our anniversary which was really nice. Diane and I ate here for the first time on our 36th Anniversary. We were quite pleased with the overall experience, which included colorful floral beauty for the eyes as well as great tastes for the palate. I began with a Hellfire Roll, which featured Spicy Tuna at a spice level of about 7 of 10. It was quite good. A Shrimp Cocktail was next up, with very meaty shrimps and a little zesty cocktail sauce. For a main I selected Herbed Oven-Roasted Branzino, while Diane ordered Crispy Shrimp. I appreciated the fish being served very hot. Parmesan Truffle French Fries were very salty and had chives adhering to them. So, a new chive-free batch was prepared for Diane. Otherwise we received excellent cooking. As warned, a Chopped Salad was huge in size but quite tasty. I took over half home for lunch. Freshly made Chocolate Chip Cookies were given to us as an anniversary gift. But, way above the call of duty in our estimation, we also received a complimentary $23.00 Brownie "Hit Me" Chocolate Cake accompanied by "Liquid Klondike" Dulche Deleche Ice Cream. It was great, but we were so stuffed that most of the cake, too, came home with us. As an unusual touch Iced Tea was served in a small mason jar. The noise level in our dining room was loud, but driving, pulsing electronic music and vocals created a nice musical backdrop for our dining experience. Enormous disappointment. We were so looking forward to our meal here. I'm in my "seafood period" right now and I was excited at the potential I saw in the menu here. It's beautiful. But you no doubt know that from all of the Insta pics. Plan on some extra time to allow all of the wannabe influencers that are staging photo shoots at the entrance, which is famously decked out in fake flowers and pretty vignettes. It's all downhill from there. We were about 10 minutes early for our 5:30 reservation and the hostess told us she would seat us "closer to our reservation time". OK. That is sort of unusual since the restaurant seemed empty but sure. 5:30 came and went. We went back up to the hostess stand... apparently there was some shift change that was holding things up. Again, that's OK. But there was an attitude about it all that wasn't very friendly. We were shown to our table soon and it was a nice curvy booth. We both noticed pretty quickly that the music is too loud. That makes everyone have to talk loudly so you will be surrounded by tables of people yelling at each other. Our server seemed distinctly unimpressed that we didn't order any alcohol. You could see the moment he lost interest in us. When my partner asked about the chicken he sort of menu shamed us. We ordered expensive food so his attitude was unnecessary and he did warm up a bit after that. I had the seafood tower for one. This is $68 a person. When they put it in front of me, I was honestly confused. I couldn't hear a thing our server was saying over the loud music so I missed his descriptions of the items. There was something so bizarre on this seafood tower - something that looked like an oyster shell full of whipped cream. What in the world? Oh it's so much worse than that. To my horror, I tried it and found this is some sort of absolutely foul lemongrass cream or some nonsense like that. It was an enormous amount of it - a full mouthful and at the bottom of the shell was supposedly an oyster. I didn't find it and I wouldn't want to eat an oyster that had been sitting in that offensive pool. Wow. That is so amazingly bad. Nowhere on the menu do they warn you what they are going to do to your oysters. It's truly appalling - so bad in fact that I just had to say something to the waiter. He seemed surprised but I don't buy it. This cannot be popular. Anyway, rant over. The rest of the seafood tower was just OK. The lobster was tiny and not super fresh. The shrimp were sort of "meh" but the hit surprisingly was the scallop ceviche... very nice and bright. Note there is no bread either offered or on the menu. Felt weird. It's needed. For our main course, my partner got the filet mignon and a side lobster tail. His lobster was also of the "wee" variety and a bit tough. Steak was nice though and cooked as requested. I had the Truffle Mushroom with Spaghetti and added the jumbo shrimp. This was also terrible. I thought I liked truffles - but I bit into something in this dish that again I can only describe as foul. And the sauce was just too much and overwhelming. I ate about three bites and just gave up. We spent about $260 before tip. With no drinks. This was a pretty stunningly bad meal. read more

I have stayed at the Aria many times and this restaurant has been on my list to try but didn't get a chance til this past weekend. Even though we were staying at the Bellagio my husband and I made a last minute reservation online and came here for a late dinner. The restaurant is beautiful and has great vibes. She checked us in and said wait for our table which is being cleared up. After a few minutes we were seated, not in the mani dining room but the one on the right side which is not as pretty as the main but it's ok I know we made the reservations on that day. So no big deal. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. We started with edamame and shishito pepper. Both fresh and delicious. Then we ordered the ceviche and both of us loved it very much. To be honest both my husband and I were in the mood for sushi so we stuck to ordering sushi. Boy was that a disappointment. The Catch roll was not to our taste , it had crab salmon miso honey and the waiter used a torch to cook the salmon on top. It smelled so bad after he did that. Smelled burnt ... I didn't eat that roll after that. Then we ordered a few cut rolls like salmon tuna yellowtail ... all so basic and no taste. So so disappointing to serve this kind of sushi at a fine restaurant . So it turns out we would have been better off ordering non sushi items from the menu. We could have enjoyed our dinner. So after the last roll we called it a night and left. The reviews said they have excellent sushi but I don't think so. Now I wonder how everything else tastes here. Maybe one day I'll have a better experience with food here. Before our trip, we had a reservation for Zuma but received an email that it was cancelled due to a private party so we pivoted to Catch. The entryway is beautiful but the section of the restaurant we were seated was rather dark - we were lucky to be near a hanging light. The young lady who sat us never smiled or spoke which is unusual (in my experience) for a more upscale establishment. Our primary server was very friendly, giving us off the menu options (specials) but we didn't see much of him. To be fare, it was a busy night. We ordered: Salmon nigiri that was a special off the menu - sorry, I can't remember the exact name - 4.5 stars! My daughter is the salmon lover, not I, but this was so fresh, no fishy taste that salmon can have - loved it! The Catch Nigiri flight - 5 stars. The tuna's were the best the bites of the night. This salmon was my least favorite BUT I'm not a big salmon sushi girl, so no stars removed Catch roll, HellFire roll, MRC roll - 2 1/2 to 3 stars. Disappointing, the descriptions had our mouths watering but the end product was ho-hum. The Catch roll was the biggest bummer of the group. Wagyu Fried Rice - 1 star. I RARELY give a 1*, especially at a higher end restaurant, but my heavens, it was mushy! Mushy fried rice - what the heck! When our waiter came back over, I told him how unappetizing it was and inquired how the dish is made. Points to our waiter, he let us know sometimes the kitchen over sauces the dish and he kindly removed the dish from our table and the bill. If we would have eaten more than a spoonful each, I would have waived off his offer but it was just so bad we gladly accepted. Overall, I would recommend the Nigiri flight, but not the rest. For our entrées, we ordered the Vegetable King Roll with king oyster mushroom, cucumber, avocado, and spicy miso. We also ordered the Truffle Mushroom Spaghetti with the added shrimp option. The spaghetti was perfect. The truffle flavor wasn't overwhelming, but it was definitely present and paired wonderfully with the rich mushroom sauce. For dessert, we ordered the vegan pistachio cheesecake with a side of coconut sorbet. It was so decadent and delicious. I've always been a fan of Catch, and walked from the MGM for dinner here. After being told by the host I could sit at the bar, the bartender refused to serve me because I was in a knit tank top and long pants. Apparently tank tops have to be covered with a shirt? There was a woman 3 seats away from me in a tank, and a man in a graphic cut-off t-shirt on the other side of the bar. Also it's August, and 112 outside today. No one is wearing sleeves! Right out of the gate this place catches your attention. The entrance is BEAUTIFUL. The water feature, butterfly wings, and floral walls are all perfectly instagramable. We started with drinks a few of us had the "For Lychees sake" (it was sweet and strong) and old fashioneds (traditional and tasty) Our appetizers were the crunchy shrimp and the crispy rice with tuna- both of these were the favorites of the night! Both made really well and were very flavorful. Our entrees were the king salmon (this wasn't our favorite- it felt too heavy for fish), the filet (ordered medium, cooked well, juicy), with the chopped salad (this one was also a bit of a let down- the blue cheese chunks were huge- overwhelming so, and the bacon was too crunchy- like tooth hurting crunchy), the Brussels sprouts (Smokey and flavorful) and the truffle fries (these were delicious! Just enough truffle, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with the perfect amount of salt). Our server was great! He was attentive, friendly, and quick. Everytime I come to Vegas, catch is a restaurant I love taking my clients to. Service: 10/10 Always attentive and phenomenal at explaining new dishes. Waters are always topped off and food comes out in a timely manner I recommend their seafood tower everytime and it has not disappointed. A fresh assortment of lobster, scallops, oysters, and tuna is what greets you. If you're in the mood for sushi, the catch roll is a solid choice as well as their nigiri platter. I'm very fond of the fact that it's not entirely dark in here like most restaurants. I can actually see the food and don't doze off waiting for things to come out. The atmosphere is welcoming and vibrant as opposed to a quieter sit down steakhouse. Love it here, please come if you have the chance! read more

Our party of four had a 5 pm reservation that we were able to make the same day. Already probably not a good sign. The only reason we chose Catch was because we were staying at the ARIA, needed an early dinner reservation, and had some credit through the hotel. Since we had a late lunch, none of us were really that hungry so we ordered a bunch of small things to share: -Tuna Tartare - the fish was fine. Nothing special about it. The avocado on the bottom tasted a little bit like those pre-packaged guacamoles you'd find at the supermarket -Grilled Spanish Octopus (crispy potato, sofrito, garlic aioli) - this was probably the better dish of the night. You usually can't go wrong with octopus -Mashed Potatoes (with roasted garlic) - the texture was kind of gummy and not the fluffy mashed potatoes I was expecting -Brussels Sprouts (yuzu-calamansi vinaigrette, dry miso) - this was so salty. I didn't taste any yuzu or calamansi. Maybe they put too much miso I think this spot is meant more for the 'gram than it is the food. At the entrance they have a pretty archway where you can take pictures. So if that's your thing, maybe just take the pictures and leave (lol). This might be the worst meal I've had on this trip to Vegas. read more

I ate here on a Friday night around 9:30-10:00 p.m. My husband and I had a great meal. Things I love: the chili edamame. Sweet, mild spice--YUM. The crispy shrimp--tasty, crispy and not mushy, and the spicy mayo? Perfect. The truffle sashimi, MRC roll, and the Parmesan truffle fries were all a hit. My entree was the crispy chicken--no bueno. That was my mistake for ordering chicken at a seafood restaurant! I was not fond of the chicken--it lacked flavor. The breading on the chicken was okay, but not the best. I'd skip this menu item. Catch is a good spot for a meal for a group and it's perfect for all seafood lovers. Service wise, our waiter was clocking out for the evening so we had a switch in waiters. The service wasn't the best, but the food made up for it. I'll come back. read more
