Painting of a scene from il Postino "the Postman" in one of the dining rooms

Catching up with friends for dinner in a very comfortable dining room with white linen covered tables, walls with framed artwork featuring the movie behind the restaurant's name and other iconic actors. The hosts and wait staff were wonderful, looking forward to dining there again. Enjoyed one of the very best pasta dishes I've had in the last year, Fettuccine with Porcini, the pasta was perfectly cooked, glazed in olive oil, with a generous portion of Italian porcini, mildly earthy, velvety long strands that seemed to never end as I twirled the pasta onto my fork. As good as any pasta dish I've had in Michelin starred restaurants in Italy!

We were in a large group. The bill must have been around $4k (9 people) because the hosts were ordering everything and anything and also top notch wine. The food was good. I had some appetizers and chose not to have a main course because of the appetizers. What really gets me about this restaurant is the mediocre service. The waiters are very hard to understand- they recite the menu to the table and it's fast and with their accents (no one is Italian by the way) you forget everything they tried to say at the end. I had to ask for a paper menu. Then, they kept pushing all kinds of appetizers and entrees because they saw that our host didn't care about money- so it was obvious that they saw a lottery ticket and kept pushing things and bringing way more than needed but the host didn't care. Then, the other annoying factor is that they keep coming back and interrupting us while we are having conversations. Essentially, they can't read the room. Poorly trained. For a restaurant that is known for hosting high end clients, the waiters have a lot to learn. Very underwhelming and tacky service. I would not return to this place because of the service aspect but the food was good. And we had fun despite of all the constant interruptions.

    Angelotti w Shaved White Truffles

The aroma hits you when you walk into the dining room. Your mouth drools in anticipation. The waiter describes the Angelotti with fresh shaved White Truffles. The dish is delectable! Little soft pillows of heaven in a surprisingly light cream sauce. The truffles taste as great as they smell. Life if glorious! Until the check comes... $220.00 (TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY DOLLARS) for this plate of food. Enjoy! Beware and be careful!

We went here last night for dinner with some friends that are like family. They're all Italians, except Lorenzo and I and they told us it's the best Italian food in NYC. I would disagree I think it's the best Italian food in America! Some of the best ravioli I've ever had, their truffle sauce is what dreams are made of! To top it off the service was even better. The waiter is friendly and knowledgeable, the chef comes by to make sure we liked our food. It was just a fantastic experience all the way around. It was one of those meals that made you realize just how good a dining experience can be and should be. Oh and the dessert! Wow! It's so incredible! We ordered the dessert sampler and it fed 7 people and we had some we had left because we couldn't finish it. The cheesecake melts in your mouth. Also the wine selection is wonderful and the waiters make sure your glass is never empty. This place is magical, the decor is spectacular and the way you're treated is like you're royalty. If you're in NYC this place is a MUST!

Stopped in yesterday afternoon for a drink at the bar since we were in the neighborhood, and had the nicest time. Beautifully elegant restaurant, friendliest waitstaff, and our lovely bartender Erica and host Renato could not of been more welcoming.

    Linguine with Frutte di mare

Loved the ambiance. Had higher expectations for the food especially at the prices they were charging. My parpadelle looked and tasted like my mother in laws homemade thick and misshapen noodles. Not good!! The rest of the food was meh, although my husband's linguine dish was on point. Service was excellent except for the poor Swiss junior waiter who most likely has been fired since we dined there. I feel like there are much better Italian places in NYC. Probably why they ask for a credit card number when you make a reservation.

I've been coming here for years, and the quality of the food continues to keep me coming back. During this visit, I ran into a recurring issue with my lobster. It was carrying a large amount of roe, which I was actually happy about because I enjoy it and didn't want any of it to go to waste. However, the roe deep inside wasn't fully cooked during the initial steaming process. I had to go back and forth with Ash and the kitchen staff several times, but they remained patient, attentive, and committed to making sure everything was cooked properly. Ash, one of the managers, provided excellent customer service throughout the experience. While I was waiting, he kindly offered me a complimentary cup of New England clam chowder, which was absolutely delicious and very much appreciated since I was starving. Before leaving, I also ordered two more 2 lb. steamed lobsters to go. I explained my concern, and the staff made sure they were thoroughly cooked before packaging them. Both were perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. I truly appreciate the team's dedication to customer satisfaction and their willingness to make things right. Their excellent service, combined with consistently great seafood, is why I've remained a loyal customer for years. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back. Thank you!
