Great first date spot. I had the fettuccine alfredo and it was good. The gnocchi was also great! Service was fast and attentive. Lots of seating and great drink selection. I got the pinot grigio and it was good.

What an experience! So to start with the food, I genuinely cannot speak highly enough about everything that we had. Everyone at the table got a different entrée and some of the exclamations were "This is the best X that I've ever had" whether that be the chicken Parm, the veal Parm or my oricchette with vodka sauce. The bruschetta and prosciutto with melon appetizers were also phenomenal and the chocolate soufflé that we had for dessert was absolutely to die for. I genuinely have not a singular note about any of the food that we had. It was all wonderful. So touching on the service this is where things got interesting. We had a reservation at 8 PM. Upon arriving to the restaurant, we were told that there were no tables available and long story short, had to wait outside in the cold until about 8:30/8:45 when we were finally seated. Now I must say that the restaurant was incredibly busy and the staff were working extremely hard to try and turn over tables and figure out the situation. While I do fault them for overbooking as this reservation was made weeks ago, they tried their hardest to accommodate us - and I genuinely do appreciate that. Once we finally sat, it did take about a half hour to finally get a waitress to come, but after that, it was smooth sailing and service could not have been more impeccable. The manager was working extremely hard and comped us some wine for our troubles, which was greatly appreciated. Our waitress whose name I failed to get (a lovely woman from Chile) was one of the best waitresses I've had and truly elevated our experience. The ambience of the restaurant is quite small, which is the obvious reason for the delay in seating. While we were seated on the front patio, we did go in to use the bathroom and the inside looked quite nice. Overall, the food is amazing. The service was great once we were sat and the ambience is lovely. If they could just figure out their booking system, this place would be a 10 out of 10. I will 100% be recommending Cafe Buon Gusto to anyone and will be back for sure.

Made a reservation for late on a Thursday, being in New Rochelle for work and knowing I wouldn't make it into the city until late. First of all - being open very late on a school night is commendable and I really appreciated it. So I made a reservation and hopped the subway after work. I was the only in the place, which is somewhat small to begin with, but the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I ordered bruschetta to start. With being the only table, food came out quickly- and with them closing up things for the night, they were serving me in the hopes of finishing their night. Not a problem, let's get it going. The bruschetta was great - fresh and bright flavors in the tomatoes, bread was good and flavorful. Top notch. I was in between a couple of dishes but settles on the cacio e pepe. It came out quickly, and really was the highlight of the trip here. Al dente pasta, sauce was good and seasoned, great flavors. For dessert, I had the chocolate pie and a double espresso. Both were good. Quick meal, but well-executed. Would highly recommend here, but with the small size of the dining room- especially in winter - make a reservation!

Caffe Buon Gusto exemplifies the best of Italian hospitality and cooking. With warm and familial service, it feels like you're eating at nonna's house. We were in need of a good bowl of pasta and this spot delivered and then some. Drinks were delicious. Our waiter said he made a great espresso martini and I agree with him. The complimentary focaccia was a standout, and you might be tempted to eat it all before the main courses come. I'm glad I saved a piece to sop up my vodka sauce. They are known for their vodka sauce and I can see why. It was silky perfection that coated and clung so nicely to the thin spaghetti. Get it topped with the mozzarella to unlock its full potential. They brought out a small slice of tiramisu on the house. Such a wonderful gesture and damn was it a good tiramisu. I would recommend this place to anyone!

This is my favorite Italian spot in the city. The truffle limoncello ravioli is to die for. It's a very cute and quaint locally owned spot giving it a warm environment. Everyone should try this spot at least once!!

Second time coming here - came after a friend's wedding and the group of four of us loved everything. The pasta is killer, the wine was reasonably priced, and it's in a cute quaint cafe-like place. Only downside in both times coming here, the waiters are a little short with you and you get the sense you're being rushed. Other than that, I love this spot and will definitely come back after the Met or if I'm nearby!

Very quaint neighborhood itialin spot. Homestyle pasta. The owner is a sweetheart. All the pastas were absolutely delicious! Can't go wrong with this spot.

Such a gem of a spot! Literally one of the best Italian meals I've had in a while. Their homemade pasta is to die for. I got the veal tortellini with carbonara sauce (they do not skimp on the onions and pancetta - 10/10), and the portion size was AMAZING; I even had leftovers to take home! Also obsessed with the bread - so fresh and moist, especially dipped in their garlic infused oil and balsamic. Shout out to Nando!!! We absolutely loved our limoncellos!!

Even if we wouldn't have gotten a window table and it wasn't Christmas, the vibes and interior of this place would have still been great. We went in December night of 2024 so some aspects of the menu have changed however, most of the dishes still appear to be on their menu as of now, June 2026. It appears most changes comes to the type of pasta used in a dish, aspects around a dishes main focus and gelato/dessert flavors. Everything we ordered was an 8 or above out of 10. The beet salad (BARBABIETOLE) is easily 10/10 and a top 3 salad we have ever had. The chocolate cake with gelato (TORTINO DI CIOCCOLATO) was 10/10 and the best dessert we had at Da Andrea. We ordered 3 total, including the ricotta cheesecake and tiramisu. Tuna Tartare, gorgonzola pasta and bolognese are 9's. The fritto misto, the other pasta we ordered and the other 2 desserts are 8's. If you're in New York make reservations and go. My Wife found this place and made reservations. Only thing I regret after looking at additional photos is not ordering the grilled pork chop.

Baba Al Rum was also tasty, as was the Orecchiette. Rigatoni was salty, but well-flavored. I visited a popular Italian restaurant from the Union Square Hospitality group with a group of five others. The restaurant is quite large, and although it was somewhat noisy, the tables were spaced apart enough that it was easy to hear everyone. We had an early dinner at 5:45 PM, which took quite a while, but I didn't mind. To drink, I went with the Bitter Giuseppe for $19, with Cynar 45.3, Punt e Mes, lemon, and sea salt. I'm a fan of most Negronis, and this was a particularly bitter version. The bit of lemon and sea salt added a unique but enjoyable flavor at the end, though in retrospect, the salt probably wasn't super necessary. Two of us split, and eventually, a few of us ordered their signature appetizer, the $18 Cast Iron Focaccia, with tomato conserva, a mixture of crushed tomatoes, olive oil, and Calabrian chili. The bread was fresh and warm, albeit a tad oily and salty, but it paired wonderfully with the conserva. As someone who doesn't like it when bread is extra, this was delicious and worth it. Another person ordered the $18 Insalata Verde. It was very large, but fairly basic, with a vinaigrette that had a citrusy and mustardy flavor. There was also the Caramelized Onion Torta for $27, which was very large, as expected for the price point. It had a creamy and tangy flavor from the Pecorino Toscano with some sweetness from the onion. It was delicious, but very heavy, and I would recommend that around three or four people split it alongside the focaccia. Finally, there was also the $15 Pizza Bianca, which was easily the smallest of all the plates, but they still enjoyed it. My main dish was the Orecchiette for $26, with ramps, pistachio, and pecorino. Like most of their dishes, the portion size was quite large, with plenty of pasta, which was perfectly cooked. The ramps added a touch of sweetness, although I would have liked a few more nuts. Additionally, there was almost too much pecorino, which made the dish slightly salty, but it was still enjoyable. As a side, I got the $19 Grilled Asparagus with dates, vermouth, and blue cheese, which came with many pieces of lightly charred asparagus. While there was plenty of funky blue cheese, I would have preferred more dates. Two of the others got the Rigatoni Alla Gricia for $30. The portion was large, and I tried a bit while they tried mine. The noodles were again cooked perfectly, and while there was a lot of guanciale, this was easily the saltiest of all the dishes. For dessert, I chose their Baba AU Rum for $18, which was uniquely mixed with chocolate and orange. The presentation was a bit off, as it looked like a certain emoji, but the flavor made up for it. The subtle hint of rum paired with the bitter-sweet chocolate and orange. The dark chocolate-covered orange slice on top was a nice touch as well. Someone else got a tart, and one other person got the Gelati, which resulted in one of the only faults during service. She heard it was two scoops, and ordered espresso stracciatella and hazelnut, but was given two separate orders for $12 each. The gelato was good, but unlike most things, definitely not worth it for the price. I liked the appetizers much more, but I found the food good overall. Tasty dessert, and the portions make up at least a bit for the relatively higher prices.

Overall, we highly recommend L'Artusi for a special night out!

L'Artusi has been on my radar for a while, ever since I heard it was a hot spot and saw reviews of…read moreit being one of the best Italian restaurants in NYC. Being Italian American, I'm hypercritical of spots like these - but nevertheless the positive reviews were overwhelming so I wanted to check it out for myself. One of my friends and I were looking to catch up, so I booked a table and off we went. While it can be tricky to get a reservation during prime dinner time, it's relatively easy to get a lunch reservation - or an early/late dinner. I managed to get a reservation for dinner at 9:15pm which was the earliest I could find. The restaurant is pretty unassuming on the outside - it looks like a converted brownstone and once inside we were greeted by a large space with a sceney vibe. The space is split between two levels with a large bar up front and a semi-open kitchen in the back. The decor was modern - with lots of greys and neutral tones which was a little unexpected. The main star of the menu is pasta, but they also have a few non-pasta mains as well as some crudo selections, apps, and sides. We decided to get a few apps, two pastas, and one side. To start, we went with the octopus, roasted mushrooms, burrata crostone, and focaccia. These were all really good, but my favorite was the mushrooms. I'm usually not a fan of mushrooms but these were prepared with red pepper and fried egg and were delicious; it cut through the earthiness and changed the texture to something I really enjoyed. The focaccia was also a standout - it's house made and was paired with a peppery oil that complemented the bread well. For mains we split two pastas - the caccio e pepe and the rigatoni. Both of these were very good, though I felt the rigatoni was the stronger dish. It was prepared with sausage ragu, soppressata, broccoli rabe pesto, and pecorino. The flavors worked really well together and the pasta was cooked al dente. The caccio e pepe was perfectly fine, I just feel it's been overplayed and didn't feel there was anything that stood out amongst the others I've tried. We also got a broccoli rabe as a side which was great. We couldn't leave without dessert and decided to get their olive oil cake and quattro formaggio cheesecake. The restaurant is known for the former - it was perfectly fine but I've had olive oil cakes elsewhere of the same or better quality. The cheesecake was the stronger dessert IMO - the combination of cheeses gave it an interesting, almost savory flavor. The brûlée top and mascerated strawberries were great texture and flavor complements. Service was great - the place was packed but service was consistently on point and everyone was friendly. Overall, I had a good experience at L'Artusi. While everything was very good, I'm struggling to find the exact reason why this place became such a hot spot compared to other Italian spots in the city. Nevertheless, you'll have a good meal here and I would definitely return if given the opportunity.

The first thing I noticed was there were 7 people in my party and 4 arrived early and did not have to wait for my arrival to be seated. Second the waiter who took our order was polite and on point with specials and knowledge of the menu. He (just never caught his name) suggested the Rigatoni which chicken and sausage.
