I have been going to Mediterraneo for over 30 years. The restaurant has been slowly declining, but last Saturday night the service was atrocious, the meal was OK, and the prices were way too high considering all of the above. Glass of Sancerre ($16) was tepid- asked for a cold new pour- told they would bring ice. Never arrived. Veal Chop ($46) arrived- was the size if a very thin pork chops. Server explained thats the way it is- when they chop the veal some people get a very large chop and sometimes some get a very small chop. Would not replace with another chop. Had one 0% beer that was not on Menu, was offered another after finishing the first, server came back several times, but had nothing to offer. When the check came I had a 2nd beer AND the diet Coke I subsequently ordered on my check. Will not return. read more

Skip this place. My bf and I have walked by this restaurant for several years and finally decided to check it out. There is plenty of outdoor seating, perfect for people watching on a busy corner. Looks cute. It was empty on a Thursday afternoon, but the ambiance was nice. Yet looks are deceiving as we soon found out. We noticed a "Pending" health score Dept of Health sign in the window. ( I discovered later the restaurant was shut down by DOH for 2 days in June 2025 due to many health violations.) My heart sank. We debated for a minute, then said we'd give it a try- plus we were both hungry. We also saw a "no alcohol available due to liquor license paperwork..." sign posted. Ok, we weren't drinking that day. We ordered the 12" Margherita pizza. The only basil was a basil leaf plopped in the center. The sauce was watery and bland. Could this be frozen pizza? All of this for $23 before tax and tip. I ordered a glass of Rose and a Pizza Margherita. What should have been a simple order was a complete debacle. After 30+ minutes, my pizza was served cold - no basil (not margherita style), looked like a frozen cheese and red sauce pizza. I asked them to remake it, but the manager refused and instead they just "heated up" the cold one - still no basil. When I told the chef, he just sent me a plate of basil to add to my pizza myself. I sent the whole thing back because the process has been ridiculous and the chef was rude, told me it was not cold (when it was fully room temp- plus). The manager offered to comp me a 2nd glass of rosé, and when I asked for bread, she gave me a look and did not comply. So no dinner for me... just wine I guess. We were met with a warm greeting and wonderful service the whole night. The staff took their time to talk with us while never neglecting the other tables. The calamari was delicious, and the tomato crostini was fresh and light. I had the squid ink linguini with shrimp (a favorite of mine) and my husband had the ravioli special with truffle sauce.
