Giving a star for the lady who rang me up - she was pleasant and trying. My Americano was not good. The station to add to your coffee was cramped and should be split in two so there is a better flow. Solid coffee shop opposite gate B9 at the gorgeous new Harvey Milk Terminal 1. Stopped by for a matcha latte before boarding my flight. They have a good variety of sandwiches and baked goods as well as a "take away freshness" section with yogurts, sodas and water. The self-order kiosks were non-operational so I had to get in the rather long line, which fortunately moved fairly quickly. Ugh I don't know why I always forget that I do not like the Vanilla Clove Latte here, it has a longering aftertaste that will give you slightly bad breath. Temperature of the drink was good. My iced latte ratio of price to quality was low. For comparison, the same thing at Sb***s tastes three times better than illy. I should have known better than to patronize a coffee place that was 15 minutes prior to closing. However, you should be able to make a decent product until you are officially closed. Illy is great and I know what I'm getting when I order. Can find it in the middle of the B gates section. It's legit espresso which sometimes is kind of difficult to find in airports and the stores use those nespresso type machines which is nasty. Last time I came in the afternoon so got a macchiato. It was good, so 4 stars for that, and yeah while I'm about to complain in an airport about prices, I do feel the prices are weird here. It's like $5.25 for a macchiato and $5.75 for a cappuccino. I ordered a hot 12 oz lavender mint latte, a chocolate chunk cookie and an iced chai latte for my husband. I didn't see milk options listed and I almost forgot to ask for my standard 2% milk but the barista behind the counter was friendly and happy to make the accommodation. I received my cookie immediately and my drink was ready in less than 5 minutes. The chai was your standard chai, no fluff. I literally saw the barista pour Oregon Chai into the cup. I had an 8:40 a.m. flight out of SFO, so I got to the airport around 7 a.m. No coffee yet enjoyed, TSA checkpoint now passed -- I was just on this side of twitchy. And like an airport mirage, I came upon illy. It had a long line (as you can image), but it moved fast. Lots of delicious looking baked goods were on display. I got a dirty chai latte and mixed berry scone. Both hit the spot. And the staff was polite and efficient throughout the process. Washed it down with a hot black coffee... the one that costs more when you label it "Americano" LOL. At north of $10, it was airport-priced and destined for my reimbursement account. It was fine, but I was very aware that I could have made a superior breakfast sandwich at home, given half the chance. Service: nice young person behind the counter. Made eye contact, took my name, spelled it correctly, and said it correctly when she called it to pick up my order. Ambiance: classic airport-chic. Really? I lined up in the queue, ordered from their menu board, and was assigned a number based on the order in which I joined. Found a relatively clean table (note: much nicer here than LAX), and consumed my food and drink, wrapped in paper and served in a paper cup, respectively. Sure, I'd come here again. Good location to get some coffee and breakfast. There's a tablet where you may order from or you can stand in the line. Line goes by fast. I only ordered food so I cannot comment about the coffee. Italian rustic baguette was around ~$14-15. The bread was a little toasted and there was the Italian meats inside, with tomato, lettuce, and arugula. There was a tangy Italian dressing too. Not too bad of a sandwich at an airport. Pretty sizeable too, around 6 inches. I'd rate it 3.5/5 We also got a sausage and egg sandwich toasted. This one was more warm. The bread was like an English muffin, so you must eat it when it's warm or else the bread will be hard. The egg inside was made pretty well though, but with the cheese and sausage everything was too mushy for my liking. Adding ketchup makes it taste much better. I'd rate it 3/5 read more

As soon as I took a bite I knew something was horribly wrong - the bread was smeared with gross orange pimento cheese! This was not disclosed on the menu, or of course I wouldn't have touched it.
