The matcha is smooth and flavorful, and I really appreciate that they offer a non-sweet option, which is perfect for my taste. The cream topper on both drinks is incredibly smooth and light, adding a rich texture without feeling heavy. The store is always clean, the staff is friendly, and ordering is quick and easy. Highly recommend this place for anyone who enjoys high-quality matcha!

Not overly sweet at 50% sweetness with lactose-free milk and no toppings. Ambience is much nicer at this location compared to Saratoga. Way more seating if you wanted to chill with friends. But it smelled kind of bad in there (might've been a today-only issue)...it smelled kinda like cat pee?? Maybe there was a plumbing issue or something. Odor of the space aside, it was generally pleasant but a little dirty. Service was fine. Nothing to note good or bad. I think kiosks are great for ordering efficiency, but it kind of takes away the human interaction at cafes like this. Not necessarily a horrible thing if you're introverted, though. 8/10 shop, would come again

The cream top is so good and has a super strong pistachio flavor. Would highly recommend the cheesecake too -- it's super light and creamy at the same time because it has multiple layers. The texture is perfect and one slice is a great size for sharing. The space inside is pretty small and once it gets busy, it would be pretty hard to find seating inside or outside. Service was quick.

HAALAND HA HA HA. anyway their coffee is okay. good not great like the name! maybe i ordered the wrong thing. i got the flat white - it was not bad but i wish i got a cortado or pourover. the flat white was too big for my liking so the milk masked the more delicate notes. there was like an aftertaste of something floral...jasmine? anyway i wish those notes came out more. ALSO they steamed a touch too hot which released some unsatisfactory notes in the milk. light roasts cannot pair with very hot milk!!! no bueno!!! anyway i may or may not come back. idk guys burlingame lacks some serious coffee game...3.5 stars, not worth the price

First time at Maison Alyzée was on the evening of Thursday, October 26, 2023. Ray, Pete and I…read morewalked in shortly before 9 PM for some caffeine after our dinner event at Rise Pizzeria, just down the street. Maison Alyzée is a French fine pastry bakery café located on downtown Burlingame's main strip. Dedicated to providing customers with a Parisian escape through handcrafted elegant pastries and artisanal breads, the bake shoppe doubles as pâtisserie and boulangerie, priding itself on meticulous attention to detail. Upon entry, we were welcomed by a brightly lit and very clean venue. Ray and I were immediately drawn to the beautiful marble-topped white counter that encased a gorgeous variety of exquisite treats. The commitment to the elegance of French culture and modern creativity were evident in every luxurious pastry and cake on display. Maison Alyzée is an order-at-the-counter establishment, so we made our purchase with a friendly staff member at the register. Unfortunately, we were told that espresso drinks were no longer available that night since the staff had already begun cleaning the machines. Ok....I never understand businesses that start shutting down things before closing time. This just shows customers that team convenience of closing shop quickly takes precedence over customer experience, essentially omitting availability of items from the menu while they are still open. For this reason, I am docking a star. Luckily, they still had some cold brew available, so I ordered a Lavender Cold Brew with oat milk. Heads-up: Plant-based milks like almond and oat milk incur a $0.75 surcharge. I wish that the lavender was more like a simple syrup, so that the flavour was sweeter and less sharp. Maison Alyzée also offers a selection of breakfast, lunch, and brunch options. I definitely need to return to try one or two or a few of their ostentatious delights.

I visited Maison Alyzee in Burlingame on a Saturday morning, and while the pastries were good, the service felt cold and dismissive. There was no rush, yet the staff was not warm or welcoming. I asked for my raisin au pain to be warmed up, and after waiting outside for about 10 minutes with no update, I went back in to ask. The response was "It's in the oven" was delivered rudely, as though my simple question was an inconvenience. Even when a café is busy, basic courtesy and communication should not be optional. Good food deserves to be matched by good hospitality.

The prosciutto and fig jam toast stands out to me because the saltiness of the prosciutto is balanced with the sweetness of the fig jam. The cafe uses ACME Sour Bâtard for their toasts, so quality of the bread is superb. The matcha rose latte was really good, I asked for less sweet, which I prefer, and the drink wasn't bitter because of the adjustment. The waffle sampler was a sweet treat to share. The strawberry ricotta was my favorite, the fruit was perfectly ripe and a touch of honey for some natural sweetness for the waffle. The ambience is super cute and great for IG pictures. Service is great - the servers and cashiers are nice.

The staff is really welcoming and outgoing, which made ordering really efficient. We ordered the applewood smoked salmon with avocado, churro waffle, and the banana and cream waffle. I didn't try the applewood smoked salmon, but the churro waffle was BOMB. Perfect amount of cinnamon taste! It came with a side of melted chocolate, which tied everything together. It's not too sugary, but will definitely leave you feeling heavy. One note: the actual churro on top of the whipped cream was stale. Bit on it thinking it would be soft. Ouch! The banana and cream waffle I tried too! The waffle base tasted a lot like the churro one, but it is definitely a better choice if you're looking for a more simpler dish. It came with a side of syrup, and an adequate amount of sliced bananas. The atmosphere is chill but can be loud at times. It's such a great hangout place! Will be back!

Service: always friendly from my experience Coffee: i've only gotten their cappuccino, but it was decent. has sufficient milk for me as someone who usually gets a latte Food: chocolate croissant was mediocre, it did my pet peeve wear. The chocolate was not really aligned well so you don't get chocolate in the majority of the bites, only a few. However, all the other pastries we got were delicious, including the speck and egg croissant bowl, passionfruit meringue, pastry, morning, bun, almond croissant, in that order.

The staff here was super friendly, efficient, and helpful from start to finish. For our to-go haul, we managed to snag one of our absolute favorites, the Everything Croissant Bowl, which always hits the spot. We also grabbed a couple of new items to try later, including the Sauerkraut Pretzel and the Passionfruit Danish cuz I'm a sucker for anything passionfruit. We opted to eat a couple of things there. The breakfast sandwich was super indulgent and enjoyable, featuring a perfectly runny egg. To drink, the Fig Leaf Latte was really nice with a subtle, distinct coco-nutty flavor profile, slightly sweetened and well balanced . Definitely want to return soon to sit down and enjoy the bright space again.
