I love IM Hair Studio! Ivan is a masterful Colorist and Hair cutter and Estella is a fabulous Assistant/Stylist and manager. I came to them when my long time salon closed down. I have very thick and long blonde hair and have been so happy with my hair cuts and color. It's hard to get flowing layers and to not have my hair look choppy. I always get compliments on my hair both on the cut and the color. Ivan is careful to balance the timing of highlights and gray coverage so that I do not fry my hair and keep it healthy. I have always been a blonde and they have kept me looking like a natural blonde. And oooh the fantastic blow outs! Going to IM hair is always a happy day for me. I've been to the salon two times and I can't say anything bad or negative. Everything was perfect! I made an appointment with Ivan through Instagram and he responded quickly and I got my appointment and was seen on time everything was great! He works with his daughter in the salon and they both listen to my needs and did exactly what I wanted on my hair! They're both very nice and accommodating and treated me like family. Esmerelda - what a cutie! Got a great deal on Lifebooker Loot for a last minute cut and color. Dragged myself in the day after working a huge charity event and feeling like hell, with an inch of roots and some seriously brassy highlights from a bad trip to Floyd's. Esmerelda corrected my color, tinted my brows, trimmed my ends and gave me a good blowout all in 2 hours for a great price. She was friendly but respected that I was super tired and not so chatty - I felt attended to but was allowed to just chill out...I realized walking out I didn't even really tell her how to blow my hair out or anything, it seemed like she just intuited it! The salon is pretty minimal as far as decor and ambience, but I'd rather go somewhere like that for a reasonable price then some fancy place in BH and pay $100 for a trim! My longtime stylist moved and after some research gave IM Hair Studio a try for highlights and trim. I was super pleased and have been a regular customer for 2 years. I was nervous, but Ivan and his staff are warm, welcoming and have top notch skills. Highlights include most comfortable hair wash sink I've ever experienced, complimentary champagne or wine, and an ever changing music playlist that lays foundation for friendly conversation or fun experience while getting your hair expertly done. read more

I've been coming to Ivan & Stela just a little over 3 years. It's a monthly ritual...... My hair was not very healthy & jet black. Ivan did his magic & changed my hair color while Stela gave me treatments to help bring it back to the healthy status it is today!!!! I get bored quiet easily & they manage to keep me happy!!!! Ivan is a color guru, an expert to say the least!!!!! Truth be known I wear extensions yet most people wouldn't know.... Stela is amazing!!!! I went here two years ago but I'm writing this review now because I am only now realizing I will never get highlights as good as I did at IM Hair Studio. Ivan was so good in knowing my hair and making it a beautiful ice blonde. I have gone to three salons in LA and eight salons in NYC and none have given me the results that IM Hair Studio gave. From natural colors, to going blonde - my baby Ivan has mastered it all. I always look forward to visiting the salon, his professionalism is outstanding! I have recommended him to everyone I know he's not like a lot of hair colorist I've met. He knows exactly what you want and makes it real and puts his own twist and makes it even better! I was on my way to Don Cucos for lunch when I met this charming man who gave me some sample of a really good shampoo that he carries. I asked him abut the color he used and told him that I had my hair RUINED at Frenchies by Kristin and that I was VERY WARY of anyone doing my hair anymore. He was very gracious and confidant. So I made an appointment. I was still nervous and than he told me how long he has been doing this, that he studied in Milan for two years-- color specific-- and that it is his passion. (Color.) Well, he was right! HE is a god send and very very reasonable. With a cut and a weave, he charged me just what I was charged for a weave at Frenchies! I love him! His name is Ivan Montero, and he is a fantastic find in my neighborhood! I will NEVER go back to Frenchies or anyone else, except maybe my cousin who lives in Reno who is good but still new. read more

Ivan is awesome. I came into the salon with very orange-y hair from a DIY job (bad idea), but Ivan managed to fix and give me something I was actually excited about. He removed the black dye I had in my hair from dying it black for so many years, then his assistant proceeded to give me a color that complemented my skin tone. Ivan gave me a cut that's easy to style and and to maintain. Overall, I'm very happy with how my hair came out and would recommend others to try this salon as well! read more

I went to IM Hair Studio as it was convenient and walking distance from work. I even sent several co-workers -- 5 to be exact. Initially, I was happy while my friends weren't impressed. One of their primary comments was the owner's arrogant attitude...he was overheard saying "I'm the best" on many occasions. As a year went by, I was constantly asked "What do you want to pay" for services...well, my answer should have been -- nothing! He botched my color and when it was brought to his attention, he did not offer to correct it. Rule #1 is to keep your clients happy. My mother owned a salon for many years and this is not how you treat loyal clients. read more

This salon is absolutely fantastic! I've been there several times for everything from color to treatments and every single time I have come away with hair looking as good as a shampoo commercial! The entire experience leaves you feeling great and the prices are very reasonable! With over 30 years experience Ivan is outstanding, and really up to the minute with his trends. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I felt people should see what $110 got me here…read more I had to stop the service mid-appointment because basic nail prep was not being done. I work with my hands for a living, and my nails genuinely needed proper cleaning and prep before tips were applied. Instead, I found myself having to repeatedly ask for basic prep work while being made to feel uncomfortable for speaking up. The tips were then applied with excessive glue/product underneath the nails, leaving thick chunks underneath that make the nails difficult to properly clean. When I expressed concern, I was told the glue "had to be there" to make the nails strong. I have been getting my nails done for decades and have never had a technician argue with me for not wanting large globs of hardened glue underneath my nails. When I said I wanted to stop the service, I was told "let me fix it," but the issues were never actually corrected. The nail lengths and shapes were inconsistent, the filing/shaping was uneven, and there were visible imperfections, debris, and rough edges throughout the work. I also had concerns about sanitation. The UV lamp being used appeared dirty and damaged, and the drill/e-file bits looked visibly unclean between clients, which made me increasingly uncomfortable during the appointment. I've attached photos so people can judge the quality for themselves.

She paid close attention to every detail, especially my request to retain length, and was always transparent about how much she was cutting, which I really appreciated. She was also so easy to talk to and incredibly thoughtful, constantly checking in to make sure I was comfortable, whether that meant offering coffee or water or making sure nothing hurt. Her scalp massage while washing my hair felt heavenly and truly elevated the experience, making it feel so luxurious. In addition to her amazing work, the location itself was beautiful, clean, and such a lovely space to be in, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I absolutely loved my haircut, and Shannon made me feel beautiful not only through the cut itself but also through her kind compliments and care throughout the appointment. Cut off 10 inches when was asked to cut no more then 2. Cannot texturize or shape or listen or do anything remotely related to their job. Avoid this place. Avoid giving incompetent people money. This place is disgusting and shouldn't be allowed to operate. Sick of pathetic incompetent people who can't do simple things that are within their givin profession ~ pathetic ! read more

Im hair studio is amazing. I just had the keratin treatment. It used to take me 1 hour to blow dry and get rid of my frizz and there still was frizz... After this treatment 10 min blow dry with an extra 5 to shape. No frizz full volume hair. Thanks to IM hair studio getting up in the morning is so easy!!!! It's a must have!!! read more
