Went in for their Valentine's deal and live music. I haven't been here in years. It's small and intimate- we got in at 6 and ended up being the on,y ones there for almost an hour- we will know for next time. We tried the meat and cheese board- it's decent, nice variety of cheeses. We also tried the pepperoni flatbread that was okay. Server helped us choose wine based on our preferences- we are not big wine drinkers and thought we would expand our senses and try new things. Had a white blend that was really nice and followed with a sweet red that tasted like juice- it was so good. We didn't finish the second bottle so they packed it for us so we could enjoy it at home later. The bottle wine list was expansive- I'm sure you'll find one you like. Server checked on us regularly and offered us samples so we could make our selection. The venue has a lot of events so it's worth checking out... lots of neat things to do for an outing. read more

Cute little woman owned wine bar located near Winco and love sushi on Coffee Road. Cozy, homey, welcoming spot. Pick anywhere to sit , order your beverages and light snacks at the counter. They have a cute little free library near the front entrance. Find a book, read it there or take it with you. We went for a special event -bubbles, boards, and bingo! What a fun way to enjoy an evening. Who doesn't love a nice glass of bubbly. They have a good selection of bottles to buy; mostly from Paso Robles and Napa/ Sonoma area. Average price for a glass of wine is $10 or so. The place is not too big and not too small. It's just right, especially for people who don't like large crowds. If I could make a suggestion, I would suggest maybe better prizes for bingo or better options at least. Keep people motivated and interested! The service staff was doing the best they could , but I think one more staff member would have helped a lot. More efficient and productive! read more

Cozy wine bar with small plates and tapas. Friendly staff, but only 2 I saw working so when it gets packed they are very busy serving everyone and it can take a while. Wine list had a variety and catered to the non wine drinkers with some bubbly and sweet wines. They also had beer on tap. Garlic bre was very yummy, warm and hit the spot. The cheese board was good, maybe a tad overpriced for what you get. Live music on a Friday night was perfect! So fun and the room was full by 9pm so we are glad we called ahead to reserve a table! read more

Attended my first virtual wine tasting at Wine Me Up with San Rucci Winery! So awesome! I had no idea how it was going to work, and none of my friends had ever done this either. Wine Me Up totally made it work - how ingenious and wonderful it was! Wine Me Up created a wine tasting kit of a superb selection of 5 wines in cute little reusable mini mason jars that we picked up the day of the event for a super easy, virtually no contact pick up. As soon as we pulled up front of Wine Me Up, Michele came rushing out with our baskets which she placed lovingly in the back seat of our car. I'm a wine member, so the $30 charge for the kit was just placed on the credit card they have on file for me. If you aren't a member, you can purchase thru Eventbrite. The tasting kit is enough for 2, and I bought two kits. I invited some friends, the big drinker canceled, the one friend who wanted to come watch doesn't drink, so Nick and I each had a kit to ourselves. A total win, win! They did say "you can have one kit all to yourself, we won't judge" lol It was very cool having the opportunity to "meet" the wonderful winemakers / Owners of the San Rucci Winery, Anthony Merz located owned here in Bakersfield... There was a lot of opportunity to ask questions of the owners who were very knowledgeable and passionate about their craft. Their wines were amazing. My favorite was the Rose, Nick's was the Benvenuta - a blend of 90% Muscat, and 10% Chardonnay. We both really liked the Cabernet Frank. A helpful detailed information sheet for each of the wines poured was provided. There were also three giveaways / drawings for cool prizes. We didn't win, but...next time. I actually thought it was so cool getting to do this at home. I tried to set up a fancy spread, brought out the nice glasses, "lit" the candles. I got a nice ice bucket in which I placed the whites and rose tastings. In Lulu fashion on our way home from the kit pick up, we stopped by Tahoe Joes and got a family dinner, spread out some special fancy cheeses, and had on hand an extra bottle of wine that we had gotten from Wine Me Up. So we had PLENTY. My friend took a lot of pictures.... The mini mason jars are really CUTE, and I just finished washing them, and I intend to use them to make little candles. I miss going to the live person tastings, and hearing the live music. . . However, I really give Wine Me Up credit for being so creative and presenting such an amazing experience. This place is walking distance from my apartment and I went for the first time today and I'm so glad I did! My partner and I went for a 'wines that pair well with chocolate cake' tasting today for National chocolate cake day. I did not know that was a thing but I am a fan! We booked the day before and arrived at 7pm. The place was relatively busy and we were shown to our table quickly and it was already set up. We each got 3 pours of red wine for the tasting with a slice of chocolate cake. The wine was delicious, as was the cake. But I travel to Paso Robles and Napa quite a bit to visit wineries and it's customary to receive 4-5 pours so 3 seemed less for the price. That would be my one note. I think they can go for 4 pours. I opted to get a glass of Chardonnay after the tasting and the caprese flatbread. The flatbread was fairly basic but a good companion to the wine. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and I'll be back for more events. read more

Recently attended an event for a Tobin James wine tasting event. It was a good deal of $20 a person that included snacks and a reserve tasting. It was a good deal. The place was a full house and the staff did their best to give good service. We also ordered a bottle of the Tobin Cab reserve which was delicious. I had a good time and would definitely return. If you're new to wine, this would be a fun way to learn without leaving town. Place is cute and super clean. The space is small but they have made the most of their space. Definitely worth trying if you've never been. read more

This is such a fun little wine place to hang out with a few friends! We had the wine sampler and cheese platter combo and it was a great deal. We were able to sample 4 delicious wines that I really enjoyed. The cheese platter was a lot smaller than I anticipated so it was more like a mini appetizer. Next time I'll just order a full size cheese platter. Looking at other reviews, I feel some are a little unfair. Many are regarding the previous owner and their employees. Garrett and Michelle (the current owners since 2015) are some of the sweetest people ever! My friends and I are frequenters of their wine events. For about 20-25 dollars, you can have some small bites and a wonderful wine tasting. The wineries vary by week. Lisa and Tami are wonderful as well. All in all, we love it here! I hope that the stars and previous reviews will not discourage people from enjoying a super fun place! read more

I rarely have date nights with my husband & we wanted a nice evening! It was a nice evening until we came here! Service was rude. Husband was asking for recommendations on wines & the bartender was really rude. I noticed the bartenders talking to other couples & never really came to stop to talk to us. I asked for a menu twice to re-order another drink and the bartender looked at me & walked away. My husband even loudly spoke up to bartender for the menu & she kept walking away. 6 of us ventured out to try this place for a low key birthday celebration. We had no budget for food or wine, just bring it all please and we will split it among ourselves at the end on one bill. Easy right? Drop off decent eats and drinks and we are happy! The first party of ours to arrive was the b-day girl and she got the cold shoulder walking in with no eye contact from staff, no direction to our spot. We all started to come in and we took our places on the reserved couches without any staff greeting. It's not like the place was super busy. The space itself was decent, could be a whole lot more though. Things could have been cleaned a bit better, dusted and the washroom needed some attention. This place is a wine and tapas place only with about 6 options on the menu for food. We ordered one of each item, 1 bottle of champagne and 2 bottles of red. Had to ask for water, and napkins... and then more water. I cleared the table of all the dirty plates as we were on our own. Service may have been short handed from the looks of things tonight but our server made it seem that washing her glassware at the back of the place was more important than checking in on us and seeing if we needed anything else. Food was simply ok, nothing to write home about. Cheese pieces, nuts, a few slices of salami, hummus, cold pita, less than lukewarm flat breads (3 types), olives... I would skip the brie. Actually, I would never come here to eat again. Too expensive for what you get. The wine selection was impressive until it came to order and they were out of many that were listed. Ugh. We went 90 min. without even seeing our server come around to us and we had to go to her to get our cheque to leave. This would have been an amazing opportunity to tip out well from our table. But, staff just wanted to stay clear in the back washing dishes so they could leave - and this was 1 hour prior to close! No good byes, no thank you's as we left! Oh well, we had each other so we had a nice time anyways but the poor service here will keep these 6 first timers from ever entering into this place again. Looking forward to finding the next wine bar, this one is a PASS. read more

Not impressed at all. They stock a huge selection over priced wine from Vineyards I've never heard of. And all the wine they have is from SLO County. I was hoping to see something from Napa Valley, because I feel that great wines come from that magical soil. If you're more of a beer person they do have a decent selection of micro-brews. But being the title of the business is 'Wine Me Up', they should focus on wine. This can be done by getting a wider variety, lowering their prices, and improving the ambiance of the business. Things are looking up at Wine Me Up! If you haven't been there since the walls were green then you need to return. If you think they only have wine to sip on, you would be wrong. This is a great place to grab drinks in the NW. They have new owners, more tables, and are now more focused on entertaining rather than selling trinkets and being a gift shop. In fact, the only thing you can now purchase here (well, besides food and drinks on the menu) are bottles of wine. They have an extensive wine list, but they also have beer on tap as well. As for entertainment they have live music every Thurs and Fri night. They also bring in wineries from the area and beyond and host wine tastings. They also have various BBQ and movie nights, where you pay a flat rate and get food and wine. Michelle was a fabulous hostess. She knows her wine and made recommendations that I really liked. The tapas are also very good, NOT reheated freezer food but made right in front of you. The live music and casual atmosphere were just what I needed for my mommy break and I appreciate that they feature smaller vineyards. Stopped by here after dinner for a glass of wine and beer. This was my first time coming here and I was pleasantly surprised. It's in an odd location and is near a few grocery stores. I think this might do better downtown or a more charming location than a strip mall. When we walked in we were immediately greeted and were able to find seating right away. Everyone that worked there was extremely friendly and all seemed to be having a good time as well. The atmosphere is very mellow and relaxed. The music that was playing was a mix of 90s, reggae, and other older hits. They have a great selection of wines, beers, and even some yummy looking small plates (I didn't get to try any of these but will next time). After we had been there for about 20 minutes, they had live music start. It was great! Not too loud and kept with the mellow mood. This is a great place when you want to relax and have a few glasses of wine or beer. Bakersfield definitely needed a nice place like this! I just wish it was in a different location. read more

This wine bar is a place to go if you want to hang out like a grown up,no dirty men/women trying to pick up on you, no twerking or dirty dancing,no fights. It's clean,good service, nice ambiance,live music on Fridays, I think maybe Saturdays too. They have wine tasting with their in-house wines and occasionally with new wine makers that come through. Their food is not the best, it's just some snacks to go with your wine basically; cheeses, olives, crackers, grapes, strawberries, both fruits seemed not so fresh, and bread, but the bread is a bit too dried out. They seem inconsistent with pouring the wine, sometimes I have a quarter of the glass, sometimes I have half. They also keep menu's of nearby food places, so if you want you can bring in your food and eat there while you have wine. There are new owners from last year, so it runs smoothly now but they still need help with those snacks. So it's a 3.5 stars from me. read more

I've been to this place twice now and I have had drastically different experiences. The first one was not the best, the lady running the place was a bit rude and stand offish. According to the bar tender she no longer works there. The second time was a much better experience. I went there with a group of girls and at first the place was empty but it slowly started to get more busy. The wine selection was very reasonably priced..some bottles of wine were as low as $17. They had several wines by the glass options as well. The atmosphere was good and the bar tender was super friendly. I will prolly be back again. read more

This place has great customer service. Our server was nice and friendly. This place has so much potential and its not reaching its limits. I like that you can do a flight and taste every wine that they have but they have a machine measure your pour which does not allow you to get a full taste of the wine. I understand you buy your liquor license of what you pour but your making the customer feel jipped. To me the wine isn't that great. If I'm going to go to a wine bar I expect to have good quality wine. Need to adventure into more vineyards especially when Paso Robles, Santa Barbara, and Solvang is in your backyard. The decor of the place is confusing and clutter. They have sand in wine glasses on the tables that's to tacky, and random items everywhere else. If your going to be a wine bar then be that. This is another spot where the catchy name makes you want to go and check it out. This place has been through a couple of owners that i know of. The original owners were very knowledgeable on their wines and beers. The current staff are slightly behind in knowledge but make up for it in how personable they are in particular Henry who is the face of Wine me up. That guy goes out of his way to make sure your comfortable and his service is excellent.Recently they have moved bookcases in the middle of the room totally dividing the 1000 sq ft area which doesnt make any sense to me or anyone else with a bit of interior decorating knowledge but hopefully they'll change it. They have various wines and some basic beers you can fine at any bar/restaurant. The thing that sets this place apart is customer service and from what i seen last weekend entertainment. They had an awesome band, which unfortunately cant remember the name, playing there. The other patrons there say this happens every friday and saturday. Well worth it!!! Overall just a chill cool place to hang out at with some friends. They closed at 9pm the night I went which was kind of disappointing. Selection of wine tastings are limited to 10 red and 10 white which is surprising due to it being a wine bar.
