This was my first experience with this salon, but it won't be my last. I just picked up my lab/border collie mix from Imelda's and he looks fantastic. They clearly take pride in their work. They showed me the impressive amount of undercoat hair that was removed. My dog left in very good spirits. Probably happier than when he came in. Frankly, I cannot relate to any of the criticism regarding Gonzalo. I found him to be friendly, honest and professional. I happened to pop in one day without my dog to inquire about services and was warmly greeted. We worked to find a date and time on the calendar. He was upfront that without seeing the dog in person he could only give me a estimate, which he did. He even asked if he could see a photo to help with estimate. In the end, the final price was only a bit over partly because of the upgrades I selected. For example, at drop off Gonzalo mentioned an oat milk shampoo option. There was no pressure at all to use it. The final price was also pretty much in the range of what I was expecting. At drop off I was told it would likely be two hours and it was. I received a phone call with final pricing breakdown and an overview of the grooming. From the beginning to end great experience. Really nice people who produce great results. read more

Well first of all i always read the reviews as i am a business owner as well but when i read some dumb selfish jerk people leave some stupid reviews, just because couldn't set an appointment or they didn't get what they want it at that time without patients, pisses me off! Anyway, my wife found this place and last time couldn't set an appointment as we were on rush and this place was busy and booked for a long time which i understand because a lot of places have the same situation these days, but she tried this time and could take our dog there, long story short, we are both so happy of the quality work they have done which is the most important part. I definitely recommend this place for someone who cares about the quality work, friendly staff but if you think too much about money, or on rush for a quick fast service, just simply go somewhere else. read more

The absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced while trying to make an appointment! On my first call I attempted to schedule an appointment for a few weeks out and was told I could only make appointments during to week I wanted the service which seemed strange but I put a reminder on my calendar and called today. The same gentleman answered the phone and said I could have an appointment but I need to book in advance if I wanted an appointment with Imelda. So I reminded him about what he had told me and he became very rude and short telling me how busy he was and the appointment with someone else was all he had! I had a hard time finding them at first, turns out they are located a few stores down from Sweet Retreat yogurt store on Cahalan. I have a little white Maltese and her cut was adorable. She smelled great, her fur was soft and super white afterwards, and I think they did a great job. The only thing is that she keeps scratching herself. Maybe she got fleas from another dog there? The price was a little higher than I normally pay for a wash and cut ($60). My dog wasn't matted either. We tried a few groomers before but seriously only Imelda knows how to cut our dog. The ears are left long and our dog's face is evenly trimmed (never angular). Just as importantly, our dog has never been injured or sick (unlike when I took her to a massive chain pet store groomer). Imelda always squeezes us in with last minute requests and her husband (who runs the front office) has always been pleasant. I'd highly recommend Imelda's as a groomer. I wish I could give a ZERO star to this pet groomers!!! Since they never answer their phone, and I live very close by, I went to their location along with my dog to get a quote on her grooming. The man seated (possibly just browsing his phone) inside stepped up and I asked him politely if Imelda or anyone there can take a look at my dog and give me an idea about the charges for her grooming. He immediately said they are busy for 4 weeks and they cannot do that. To which I said I understand that and I am willing to wait for the grooming. All I wanted today was someone to take a look at my dog and to give me a quote. Would have definitely not taken more than a couple of minutes. He went on with his negative not-to-care attitude and when he stepped out of the door and stood in front of my car, he refused to take even one look at the dog, and turned down my request on my face. Went on saying they are busy. At this time, I just smiled and asked him if they don't care for a business?! He just said no and slammed the door on my face and went in. THIS rude, arrogant and impertinent behavior.... Out of Nowhere... on a Monday morning..... was just not warranted!! I am just left gobsmacked! If this is how disrespectfully they treat a human (a prospective customer), how they treat the pets inside their facility could be anybody's guess!
