I've eaten here multiple times, and it's great every time! It's a great spot when it's very hot out - ac and a good amount of seating! I personally always make a point to get the mala beef rice ball with yellow sauce. It's so so so delicious!!! I hadn't had a mala beef rice ball before the place and I'm shocked more places don't offer it. Sharp, flavorful, and spicy! The yellow sauce provides a creamy/vinegary flavor that cuts the spice really well. I highly highly recommend. Their pork belly rice ball is also quite good - fatty, flavorful, and a good distribution of meat. Their boba is good too! I've had the honey green tea lemonade, which is refreshing and not too sweet. Wait times can be a bit long (up to 25 mins) depending on how many people are working and how many people have ordered. They have an app where you can order ahead, so if you're in a rush, I rec that. read more

It shares retail space with Burger By Day, a smashburger spot where customers can eat burgers, fries, wings, milkshakes with boba tea. I like the concept of a one stop for the convenience of having both a burger joint and a boba shop in one location. Indoor seating is available and air conditioning is weak because the doors are wide open which is futile, not energy efficient and violates NYC's Air Conditioning Law, Local Law 92 of 2015, New York City Administrative Code § 20-910. Jasmine Green Tea, large $5.75 + topping grass jelly $1.00 + NYC 8.875% sales tax = $7.35 I am always enamored with Jasmine green tea and my drink actually taste good. The only topping embedded is my default choice grass jelly loeng4 fan2 涼粉 which was somewhat insufficient for paucity. My order was correctly fulfilled with 30% sugar and regular ice. Again, I highly despise extreme sweet drinks for the high sugar content volume and agree with former NYC Mayor Mike Bloomberg's limiting sugar level initiatives consumption of sugary drinks. Again, Bloomberg would be proud of my sugar intake level. The grass jelly was average. The amount of ice was okay which melted entirely during my one hour 20 minute subway ride home. I am the biggest fan of Milksha as that place might be the best milk tea in the world, so I was excited to try I'Milky as it seemed to be similar in logo and name. I came to the Chinatown location and it was a bit hard to find as the logo isn't on the outside of the store as it was combined with a burger shop. I did appreciate how many seats there were inside though. I ordered the Fresh Taro Milk with Red Bean and it was pretty good! I appreciate the small chunks of taro that were sitting on the bottom of the drink and mixed with red bean made for a great flavor profile. The taro also didn't seem artificial, and it was like you were drinking taro blended with milk. I will say for a large cup, it was $9 which is kind of crazy as just across the street you can buy a bowl of noodle soup for $4. Overall, not a bad place for milk tea at all in NYC! read more

I would definitely recommend I'Milky. I ordered a large fresh milk taro with boba. The boba was sweet and chewy, but the star was really the fresh taro! It isn't the stereotypical taro drink, which usually comes out as purple (and most real taro I've seen aren't purple but a milky white color). You can't adjust the sugar in the drink, but I honestly thought the sugar in the drink itself was perfect! I was always really excited to drink up real taro chunks and found the milk really frothy and a great complement to the taro. As I am not intrigued by the holiday special flavors, I ordered the signature Taro Milk instead and added $3.25 to get the snowman. (Yes I know it is pricy af it costs me over $12 in total but it worths!) The bottle is solid and adorable, I actually washed it afterwards so I can reuse it at home. They used Oatly Barista version as the milk base, and poured a generous amount of creamy and smooth taro paste. The sweetness level is fixed, but luckily it isn't too sweet. It gives a natural and mild flavor of taro sweetness. However, I prefer the taro paste that I've had in Hong Kong I'Milky as it keeps more raw mashed taro, which diversifies the texture of the drink. I wish the NY I'Milky could do the same. Overall, the price of I'Milky is steep indeed, but they really use the best ingredients. You won't regret spending a considerate sum of money to get a cup of drink from them. Although the menu is extensive, I did not really find anything out of the ordinary for the prices charged. They clearly use fresh teas and juices but for the price, I expected more. I ordered a regular milk tea with tapioca at the lowest sugar setting (forgot the percentage) and the Taiwan premium green milk tea with tapioca at 50% sugar. They most definitely mixed up the sugar levels for both drinks. With the reduced amount of sugar, I expected a hefty amount of tea flavors but I was getting more milk than anything. I hate to sound repetitive but the price point does not justify the tremendous lack of tea flavor I anticipated. My friend was craving boba. We decided to stopped in as we were walking by. The staff was really nice and gave us suggestions for what to order. We both ended up ordering the taro milk drink that was being advertised on the counter. You have to shake it aggressively to mix the drink all the way through. The staff member showed us how to shake it up multiple times until we were able to get the drink to start looking the way it should. I got mine with boba which helped with the shaking. It was chewy and pretty good texture- not too hard, not overcooked. The milk was so creamy and there was actual taro in it. The drink was addictive; I finished it pretty quickly. I also got the Fresh Taro Milk, which I don't recommend; it tasted very different from taro milk in the Bay Area and I had to throw most of it away. I appreciate the existence of this imilky branch because it's one of the few places with good spacious seating in Chinatown (the place where it lacks cafes). I got the matcha milk tea with bubbles. I think it's my first time trying their matcha. It's not bad, but it just doesn't give me the strength and depth that I crave. If I were buying from there, I might as well get matcha from Maiko Matcha just one block away. I still got it, because I wanted to try and here I did. Also I think I prefer their medium size over large because of how the medium cups have the rounded bottom vs large cups being tall and straight like most other places. The rounder bottom is more comfortable to hold on to. I've had their earl grey milk tea and black milk tea at their midtown branch, so now the better question is what should I get next if none of these are up to my standards.
