The flavour of the pad see ew was absolutely divine but definitely on the sweeter side. The beef was amazingly tender and the noodles were cooked to perfection. The yellow curry was delicious. The chicken had really absorbed the flavours of the curry around it. The mango salad was also very good but something tasted a tiny bit off about it to me. It tasted like it had peanut oil but the peanut oil was a little old, but it was ever so slight, it still tasted good. We also tried the butterfly pea coconut tapioca, the thai milk tea and Jasmine tea. We got the butterfly pea tapioca hot. It was very pretty but it didn't have too strong of a flavour, and was extremely sweet. The Thai milk tea had good flavour but again, was very sweet. The jasmine tea was good for a bagged tea. I wasn't expecting them to have authentic loose leaf tea anyways. Overall, the flavours of the food here are fantastic but this may not be the place for you if you are sensitive to sweet.

For our main, we went with the Khao Soi ("Soft and crispy egg noodles, golden curry, coconut milk, spring onion, red onion, crispy shallot, lime, pickled veg") and we got that Spicy. It's a really solid version of this iconic dish. It's maybe not up there with the best adaptations I've had, but it's quite good. The broth is super flavorful and rich, while the other components are right on point. The spice level was perfect, too. The service was top notch, as well, so I have no doubt we'll be returning to Thai Barn Na at some point.

The first page of the menu contained a snippet on the chef / owner's life story, her journey from Thailand to Canada, and how she went from being a journalist in Thailand to a chef and restauranteur in Toronto. I always like reading success stories and learning about the people working behind the dishes we eat. 1) Stir-Fried Morning Glory - This was listed under "small dishes", but the portion size was shareable as a side vegetable dish. They were able to make it just stir-fried without the fermented bean paste and chilli. It was already flavourful without any of the sauces. 2) Pad Pak (stir-fried broccoli, cauliflower, snap peas, carrot, bell pepper) - We requested for the vegetables to be blanched plain, without the oyster sauce. It was perfect - vegetables were still crisp, not over-cooked at all. We chose shrimps as the protein to go with the vegetables. 3) Pla Piing (Thai-style grilled European sea bass marinated with aromatic herbs and spices) - This was delicious and grilled to perfection. We also asked for this dish to be made with sauce on the side, and found that we didn't need the sauce at all. The sea bass meat was soft and flavourful. 4) Crab Fried Rice with Omelette - We came here specifically for this dish, as I had seen photos of it online and it looked good. It tasted as good as it looked. The omelette was more of a very thin scrambled fried egg that wrapped on top of the mound of fried rice. There wasn't any crab in the fried rice, but they put actual chunks of crab on top of the rice and omelette. Both the rice and omelette (scrambled fried egg) tasted very rich and umami. 5) Talay Claypot Glass Noodles (glass noodles with mussels and shrimps, Chinese celery, cilantro roots, ginger, garlic) - I liked the chunks of Chinese celerey and ginger in this dish. I chose not to pour the seafood sauce into the claypot, so I could taste the true seafood taste without any sauce. There were big New Zealand mussels and a generous amount of shrimps in the dish. The drinks menu had a lot of creative Thai spins on cocktails and mocktails. Desserts selection included some of the most common Thai desserts and snacks such as mango coconut sticky rice, durian coconut sticky rice, khanom krok (steamed small Thai coconut pancakes - one of my favourite Thai street snacks), and khanom tuay (steamed coconut custard).

As expected, everything was phenomenal! The crab, however, was perhaps the unanimous favourite. The curry sauce was amazing! Everybody loved the flavours and were on the verge of licking their plates clean. Chef Ko surprised us with a Mango Coconut Sticky Rice dessert that was the perfect finish to a great meal! The food itself was delicious (Peanut Chicken, Grilled Beef, and a vegan dish that escapes me), and comparatively inexpensive to other Thai on the Danforth delivery options. Very impressed with the Peanut Chicken, as I try this dish anytime it is offered by a restaurant. Bamboo shoots were cooked to perfection - delicate and soft, not tough and fibrous. The peanut sauce itself let the peanuts do the talking (rather than being overpowered by other ingredients), and the spice was gentle on the palette. The presentation and containers weren't as upscale as some others, but quite frankly when I'm paying less for the same amount of delicious food, I couldn't care less.
