This is a garbage gym. The price for a day pass is a complete joke and the bathroom is a biohazard. It genuinely looks like it hasn't been cleaned in over a month. I couldn't spend more than 5 min inside the men's locker room without feeling fully disgusted. The owner does not actually care about the people there or anyone new because all he wants to do is sell you some up charged protein powder. Paying monthly for this gym is also a complete scam, it has absolutely nothing inside that's worth the price. The owner is taking advantage of the fact there are barely any gyms in fair oaks and does whatever he wants. Makes a new rule and ups the prices every week! This place deserves 0 business. read more

I've provided all the proof I could about my financial situation, and they showed no interest in working with me or offering any kind of compromise. Their customer service is dismissive and uncaring. It's clear they don't value members at all--especially anyone going through a hard time. Instead of helping people stay healthy and part of the community, they'd rather squeeze every last dollar with no flexibility or understanding. went to this gym for a couple months. not bad for saving a couple bucks if you're out of town for college. unfortunately owner is extremely unprofessional and rude in the reviews and likes to pull the "small business" card. clearly have issues with an unprofessional staff member (everyone knows who it is) and they won't let this person go. overall would recommend just getting a membership elsewhere. temperature was always too hot and it was always sweaty/musty inside. machines are out of service for months on end. the place made me nauseous too probably due to lack of adequate air circulation. overall- pros: temporary passes can be cheap, month to month option before price increase was justifiable cons: unprofessional owner, staff, machines out of service for long periods of time, overheating and nausea from musty, sweaty, hot gym conditions edit: i don't really use this account to make reviews just read them but i was uniquely disturbed by how the owner responded to former members - not every critique is some disgruntled person - i didn't have any big problems with them personally and left on good terms but i could see what was going on around me. read more

Honestly I'm not getting all the bad reviews here - I really appreciate this gym. Any gym that offers a $5 drop-in fee is a great deal. I always use it when I'm in town visiting. For what they offer here the price is awesome. They have 4 barbells (2 squat racks and 2 deadlift areas) and many different equipment variations. I've always been satisfied here. The clientele is typically either high school age I've noticed, so it doesn't feel "creepy" at all. It's a super chill environment honestly. I just go in and no one really talks to me which I honestly like. It feels a lot more relaxed than the other corporate gyms around - as a woman I think this is a great place to lift in peace. I get the safety concerns here - but if you go during the day you're fine. I feel like it has everything it needs for a good workout. I don't have complaints really! read more

So, first things first. This review started as a three star review, which I dropped to a one star owing entirely to their initial response. In said initial response, the gym representative pointed out that I "hadn't been to the gym in over two years". They have since edited it out but my objection stands. I am absolutely aghast that they would use my personal gym usage information publicly as a discussion point - that's tacky. It's also incorrect data, but not the point. What do they say behind people's backs if they are willing to speak about members publicly in this way? Uncool. You can edit your response all you like, but you said it, and I won't forget it. I was a member from shortly after the facility opened as Everybody Fitness and recently ended my membership because the location was no longer convenient following a work transfer. This gym has pros and cons as it is now. Pros: The new ownership absolutely did step up their game - it's cleaner, better maintained, and has better equipment than under previous management (I liked the people who ran it before - Rosie was such an encouraging and welcoming person for me - but the gym did need attention and the new owners did step things up substantially). It is intentionally no frills and therefore is free of a lot of the distractions of larger gyms. I like that. There is usually plenty of cardio equipment to be had and the overall selection of equipment is excellent. You don't need a huge gym with gobs of extras and the selection here definitely shows that out. That said, a few things. An honest safety concern for me: The staffed hours are fairly limited, and as a female working out alone I often felt vulnerable during unstaffed times. The 24/7 access is nice - and to be fair, the only real problem I ever had was teenagers letting their friends in the fire door during unstaffed times because they could get away with it - but it being a largely unstaffed space gave me a lot of pause. Cons: I felt that the culture changed a lot over the last few years, and it may or may not be a good fit for each individual. For my part I felt that the former vibe was more welcoming for many types of users, whereas now I feel like the vibe is much more serious training and much less "everybody" (and I fall in the latter category). The facility clearly has a focus on athletic training, but that makes it less accessible for more casual fitness users like me because it creates much more demand for strength training equipment - the free weights area is often pretty full and I found myself just going to the circuit machines instead. The use patterns of the small space meant I often couldn't find good opportunities to use free weight benches or squat racks. It left me feeling somewhat dissatisfied with what I felt I could achieve with my workout time when this occurred. read more

***Don't even think about joining this gym*** I was talked into joining this gym through a "joint" account which does not exist. when my husband and i discovered this, we let the salesperson know immediately and in person we wanted to cancel his account which had gone through at that point. The sales person acknowledged the misunderstanding and said we could cancel the one opened account the same day by simple sending an email to acknowledge the cancellation. we sent the email less than 5 minutes after we left the gym. we got a confirmation acknowledging the cancellation. Fast forward 7 months later, we notice we've been getting charged on our credit card. when we called to question the transactions, that's what the drama started. the gym, through its cryptic email account proceeded to say my account was cancelled but my husbands wasn't. i was flabbergasted because i never even had an account opened. after several unanswered emails, phone calls and even visiting the gym in person, the sleazy owner, Joe had the nerve to say my account, which was never opened, was cancelled with my email request from months ago. We were charged over $600 after explicitly canceling. Posting this review here because it's been hidden on Google reviews (presumably by the business). Been coming to this gym consistently for a year averaging 3-5 days per week since April 25, 2023 per recommendations from a couple friends. I decided to cancel my membership and leave quietly since my annual contract is ending soon but after today's experience with the owner I gotta air out my grievances. I had a friend visiting from out of state and I decided to bring him with me to the gym to work out together the 2 days he was staying with me with guest passes. He's into Olympic lifting. Snatches, clean and jerks, the works. We were working out separately because I follow a bodybuilding regime and at some point I saw the owner go up to my friend and the conversation looked serious so I walked up to see what was going on. Much to my dismay he was getting pretty aggressive at my boy and straight up being disrespectful. My friend had to eject out of the bottom of a snatch and dropped the weights on the platform (with bumper plates). The owner was shouting at him and insinuating that he slammed the weights on purpose and saying he's going to kick him out and threatened to cancel his membership on the spot (lol) if it happens again and he doesn't want to hear any excuse from him. Using hyperbole and saying things like "I felt the entire complex shaking when I was on the phone by the front desk" and "I've known guys come here with 500lbs on their deadlift and they're quiet and don't make a sound." Which is straight up a lie because I have SEEN and HEARD people slam heavy weights at the gym myself. My friend calmly tries to explain to him it wasn't on purpose and the lift was sketchy so he had to eject. The owner isn't even listening and continues to shout and starts to go on a power trip saying "you know I'm the owner right?" As if that gives him an excuse to be hella disrespectful and be rude about it? I understand if the noise is a problem and the gym is on the second floor. It was the FIRST time he had to drop the weight. If the owner just told him to be careful and watch the noise and ended it at that it wouldn't have been a problem and I would understand him being heated if my friend was doing repeated offenses but he was already going to lower the weight anyways afterwards without having someone all up in his face telling him how "he needs a spotter" and "just go lighter don't lift heavy" bro. Anyone who has an ounce of Olympic Lifting knows YOU DO NOT SPOT THESE LIFTS. They are ballistic and dynamic in nature and the whole point is the lifter safely fails out of the lift if necessary, which is exactly what my friend did ONE TIME. Then he tries to shake our hands asking for our names so what, he can go look us up in the system? I just don't think he needed to be so aggressive about it. It completely ruined the mood and we left without even finishing our workouts. My membership ends in 8 days but I won't even use the rest of it. I refuse to go back to a gym with someone like that at the helm. Also be wary that equipment maintenance can be pretty dicey. The assisted pull up machine has been broken since 4-5 months ago and I've asked three times about it since that time, each time getting the same response of "it takes a while to get the parts to fix it." Almost half a year of the machine being broken? Really? The rear pec fly machine doesn't even latch the right side pin in securely and one time it popped out mid set. The bilateral pulldown machine next to the water fountains has so much rust built up in the seat adjustment pin it's an absolute pain to adjust it. The Cybex leg press machine's weight adjustment dial doesn't even work to increase by 15lbs because the dial is partly broken. Honestly I can tolerate malfunctioning equipment to an extent, but 4-5 months and still being broken on the assisted pull up machine is just ridiculous. Zach and the other staff do a good job of wiping down the equipment frequently and cleaning up the bathrooms, as well as putting weight plates where they need to be (although everyone who uses the equipment should be wiping down after themselves and putting plates back to their appropriate spots). Overall, be very wary of the owner and do your research to the other local gyms before you make a decision to sign up here. read more

I've been a member for about a year. Their rates aren't amazing, but priced below other fitness centers. You get a basic gym experience-- free weights, machines, and cardio. I really don't need Zumba or Dance Fighting or anything, so this was a good fit. The place is relatively clean and the free weights are usually where they are supposed to be. I've never had to wait for a machine or a bench and it never seems too crowded (I'm an evening guy). The place is open 24 hours. If you're there at night, you're on your own for safety so don't be stupid and try to break any world records. There's no music playing here, which is actually awesome. I don't need to have my iPod compete with whatever they are playing. One of the best ideas ever. Their membership plan was a little confusing. They have a yearly rate, but you have to remember to renew it every year or else you get charged the more expensive monthly rate. I've had good experiences here. I would probably give them a 5 star review if they dropped the price a little, but if that extra money goes toward keeping the place in good shape, then I'm okay with that. read more

I joined Everybody Fitness because it was convenient to my house, and it was relatively inexpensive, compared with some other workout places. Now, after six months, I'm canceling my membership. The cardio equipment--my primary reason for joining--is rickety at best, and occasionally broken. The air conditioning barely works--not a problem in the colder months, but now that it's summertime, I find it unbearable. Worst of all, the facility is filthy. Trash that people deposited on the equipment will lie there for weeks. The men's locker and shower area are truly disgusting. This is such a shame because I think that Everybody Fitness is a family-run outfit, and it my preference to support such businesses. I really tried. read more

I was a patron of this gym from December 2020 until December 2021.  During my year of membership, I visited the gym often, almost daily, since I could work from home.  My first problem with the gym was how my wife had set an appointment to meet with the personal trainer there named Zach, on a couple of occasions.  On both appointments, which were made using their IMP Fitness apps booking system, Zach was a no show, with no notification or explanation of his absence. Next, was Zach himself.  I found his behavior to be unfitting for working in a health club.  He treated it like it was his personal home gym.  There were a few times when I would arrive to the locker room, Zach would finish using the restroom, and he would walk out without washing his hands. He did this more than once.  During conversations with him, he would discuss his personal physical relationships, and would frequently adjust the center of his shorts with his hands. There was one time I came in on a Saturday and the recumbent exercise bike was powered off.  I approached the owner, Joe, and asked if he could get it to power back on.  It was my first interaction with him ever.  He was able to get the bike back on, but then proceeded to scold me for interrupting his work out. As the world looks back on covid mandates and requirements, I think it's important we remember who the people who went too far were.  Documenting and recording this is important so that in future we can identify what type of behaviors were exhibited. I visited the gym on 11/22/2021 at around 3pm.  I sat on the recumbent bicycle, and like many other people in the gym at this time, I was not wearing a mask.  The mask requirement signs had been removed from the doors and common areas for a while now.  Zach the trainer approached me as he was cleaning and began chatting with me.  At the end of our conversation, he stated that he had taken the covid vax since I last saw him.  After which he asked me if I took it, because I had to show him my vax card if I didn't want to wear a mask inside the gym.  I told him that I wasn't familiar with this new rule and told him it was a little strange since Virginia guidelines did not require proof of vaccination for a business to allow patrons inside, maskless, yet he was singling me out with this when there were other people all around us without masks.  I never saw him talk to anyone about this vax card rule before, and I was a little skeptical why it was being presented now, since I and many others, had already been in the gym w/out a mask before. Joe arrived shortly thereafter, I politely and respectfully asked him if I needed to show any proof of vaccination, he said he sent an email out to all members about it.  I asked for a copy of this email since I never got it, and he said he would forward it to me.  I told him that if this was a requirement, that I would not participate in it, nor would I patronize his business further, and I left.  I did not create a scene or disrupt anyone's work out. Joe never forwarded the email notice to me.  I sent Joe an email stating that neither I, nor my wife received any email where it said anything about showing a vax card to enter IMP without a mask.  We received all other email announcements from IMP, but not this one.  If Joe sent this email out, then it was not received by 2 completely different members with different email providers (we checked spam folders and recycle bins).  I do not believe this email was sent to us. Joe, I want you and your business record to show that you decided to implement your own unnecessary measures that our state and county health departments did not require. You chose to require the personal medical records of your members, just so they can breathe freely during their exercises.  But to then selectively enforce these measures you created on specific members?  That is a form of discrimination. read more

I had the exact same experience as Jessica G. After being a loyal member for over 8 years, I canceled my membership. When I noticed that they were continuing to bill me, I was told that they had no record of the cancellation. They continue to bill me despite canceling in accordance with the contract requirements. I'm not sure why the owner was so aggressive but he had zero patience to hear me out and implied that i was lying. Extremely frustrating experience. Good, very clean gym that is open 24/7/365, which is a very nice feature. Most of the time the gym is pretty quiet, and there are multiples of most everything (squat racks, oly platforms, machines, etc) so even when it is busy there is typically not a problem doing everything I want to do when I want to do it. Staff is there during the evenings and very friendly, and when not with a member, they are cleaning, keeping the equipment in top shape and clean. Equipment selection is good and they have everything needed for strength training and cardio. My wife & teenage daughter are members too, and we all enjoy the gym. read more

Earlier this year I had fraud on my checking acct & had to change the number. When I got my new number I called the gym & verified my acct because my son & I have same name. They took the new info & but when I tried my barcode for entry no go. I have called 4 times & no help to fix. It appears they took my info & started debiting my card for both accounts. They won't give me any manager to talk to just a general email. If you have a problem good luck. It looks like I need an attorney to get my money back. Pitiful customer service. read more

Have been a member for a few months now. Was a painful process discussing with them their contract and the ability to cancel within 30 days. I have been a member at other gyms and gyms are notorious for making getting out of contracts difficult. Eventually I will say that they relented when I pointed out their contract could be interpreted to now allow a 30 day cancellation the way it is written so we modified the contract with handwriting to acknowledge this condition. Having been there for just over 90 days I can say that the gym is rarely ever overcrowded which is great. I will give them some praise for turning up the A/C - before it was stifling in there trying to work out.....it is getting better. I do have some comments where they could use improvement and probably make a little more money: 1.) The equipment is not cleaned often enough. Lately is seems very dirty in the gym, the floors and the equipment are loaded up with dust. I lift free weights, the machines and use the treadmills. The treadmills I wipe down thoroughly when done but lately they have been covered with dust before I even get on them. 2.) The scale was broken and now is behind the service desk. ???? 3.) Should consider providing energy drinks or bottled waters in a lockable refrigerator. 4.) The employees working there are generally sitting around and reading 90% of the time. They could be walking around the gym cleaning or making drinks for those working out. If I am paying for a membership, and the cost is part of my burden, I see that employees should be busying themselves with productive work for the gym and its members, not studying and reading waiting for new potentials. This is a poorly managed aspect of this location. 5.) There is no Smith Machine. For a 24/7 gym that is intent on being a self sufficient place for individuals, a current gym should have a Smith machine for self spotting. It's not meant to be Robo gym, I got that and it is locally convenient for us. That we like but if they can make some tweaks to their management of the place, they could demand better rates and increase membership. read more

This place is the absolute worst! It is a scam. We initially joined when it was Everybody Fitness and thought we would continue under the new IMP Fitness management. Long story short, we stopped coming because half of the equipment didn't work and we just found other workout alternatives. They automatically renewed our membership for the new year; ok fine. I decided I no longer wanted to be a member of the gym so my husband (the account holder) called to cancel - no one answers of course since they were never at the front desk when we did attend regularly. He proceeded to email them and then they required that I tell them myself that I no longer wanted to come. What sense that makes, I have no idea since again, he was the account holder paying the bill. So I let them know I would not be returning and since its just the 3rd day of the month would I be charged for the full month of January. OF COURSE I will be charged! WHO KNEW you had to give a 30 day notice at a gym as if I were breaking a rental lease or something! And then they proceeded to say my final dues would be processed on February 1st! What in thee world! NEVER AGAIN!! You are better off going to Gold's Gym or Planet Fitness or your building's gym if it has one. read more

I thought it might be little too early but giving it out for yall because it only has one previous review. well the only reason why i signed up its because they didn't require a long term contract. i'm only paying 50/month because i have special military discount and it is month to month deal. in order for you to give up on member is to tell them 30 days termination notice. as you enter the gym, first you see is bunch of cardio work out machines such as treadmils and bicycle. and as you go further you see bunch of machines and all the way to the bottom is where you can do free weights. i like this gym because it doesn't get too crowded. also it is 24 hrs so you can go anytime you want and destroy your body. only bad thing i realized was they don't have lot of weights to work out. only max dumbell goes upto 100lb per dumbell. also i've been to life time gym. their gym is like 5 times bigger with swimming pool, tennis court and even hair/nail salon. but it was too crowded and had to wait a line to use one machines. so you take a close look see what you want. read more

We just cancelled after a year -- we like having 24/7 access but cannot justify $70/month (2 of us), when half of the cardio machines are broken or rickety, there are no classes, no music, and barely functional A/C (with buckets underneath collecting the water - seriously). The locker rooms are also in dire need of remodeling. It has the potential to be a nice gym, but needs better care and attention to the atmosphere. A little turned off about the comments about the contract -- we didn't run into any issues but still have a month left on our contract. read more

I am a member of this gym. It is affordable and functional. They have plenty of cardio, free weights and resistance machines. It works, it is open 24 hours, offers month to month contracts and it is very cheap. That was what I was looking for when I joined. The gym is only staffed until 7 or 8pm. I rarely see them and it doesn't bother me. I compare it to a really well equipped hotel gym that I can access whenever I want, most of the people are just doing their own thing and it's quiet. They don't play any music and the gym is rarely busy. I love it. I saw some people complaining about contracts, etc. This place feels family run, not corporate. They were up front with me about the 30 day notice to quit. I haven't had any problems, but I get the sense that it could get ugly if I did. I'm not worried about it since I could say that about a corporate gym, too. The woman who manages the location is very friendly and likes to hear from members. They can connect you to trainers and they have a masseuse you can make an appointment with. It's functional and no one tries to sell you protein supplements while yelling over horrible techno music. read more

You really feel like you are getting your money's worth with Everybody Fitness. At my previous gym, I paid about $15 a month, which was awesome, but it was dingy, small and old. Here, I pay closer to $40 a month which is quite an increase from my previous gym, but worth it and much more affordable than places like Lifetime Fitness. Everybody is clean, large, in a great location with up-to-date equipment and friendly personal trainers. I love that it is open 24 hrs (for those 2:00 AM gym fixes) and there are plenty of machines so you don't feel crowded in. read more

The location moved to willard road near bowl America. I still rate this 5 stars because of the cost and what I require. There no longer is a shower (I never used it because I live 5 minutes away) reduced to only 1 unisex restroom. The turf area is smaller as well (I never used it). There is no longer a smoothie bar (which i never used) but there are vending machines. All the equipment remains. So everything that was taken away from the move has had no effect on me. If u work out u probably have your own blender bottle and specific protein you use. They still have personal training what better than to get personal training from someone who used to body build. Though they trimmed the fat and have become even more no frills I kept it at 5 stars because it is now 24/7. Members get an access code they use to enter the building. There aren't any employees after hours so if u are trying to max ur bench and have a bar on your throat... well you might die so be smart. They have great yelp and groupon deals worth trying. read more

After trying out many gyms in the area, I came to choose Everybody Fitness in Fairfax, and couldn't be happier. From the first time I walked in, I could see that this was not your ordinary gym. The staff there took the time to get to know me and what my fitness goals were. They were not trying to upsell me, nor push me into anything I didn't want to do. I also love the fact that the gym is 24/7 and very rarely crowded. It's perfect for individuals who want a no-nonsense workout. The gym has everything you would need, without all of the extras that you inevitably pay for and don't use...like a pool, or rock climbing wall, etc. I wound up signing with James the trainer, and have had a phenomenal experience. He is very knowledgeable, personable and there to help you reach your goals, whatever they may be. As for the girl who claims to be charged with Hidden fees; Let's be clear here, there are none. This is the most straightforward contract I've ever seen for a gym. No hidden fees, they spell out the terms and conditions in a very straightforward manner, and only require a 30 day advance cancellation notice. Nothing out of the ordinary here. And, sorry to share that if you are absentminded enough to forget to put a clip on your weights and DAMAGE the glass...then you SHOULD be responsible for your actions. And I've been coming to this gym for 11 months now, and have never had an issue with either the heat or A/C. In my opinion it's a simple and straightforward gym that has all of the basics you would need to ensure a good workout. Staff are friendly, courteous and knowledgeable and I would recommend it to anyone who's looking for a gym that's not obnoxiously crowded and/or noisy. read more

As a former XSport and 24 Hour Fitness attendee I can tell you that IMP is a breath of fresh air. I'm never waiting around to use equipment, patrons actually put their weights up, and it has everything I need. No one is needlessly taking up equipment by playing on their phones for 20 minutes at a time. And the facility is actually clean. Ownership and employees have been nothing but awesome to me. Update: I reached out to Joe, the owner of this establishment, via email both on 7/21, 7/22, and 7/23 and have not received a response. I would like a confirmation of my membership cancellation and also inquired about the 3 day Virginia State law that requires health clubs to honor a three-day, no questions asked "regret" policy. I joined IMP FITNESS when it was under a different name. As a former health club employee, I am very particular about what a gym offers. This is a GREAT gym, locally owned, open 24 hours and Very Clean! I have never had to wait for a machine or weights. There are designated areas for free weights and weight machines, cardio and stretching. Personal Training is offered too. When it was Everybody Fitness this was a nice gym with old yet usable equipment. With IMP taking over they're trying to market it more for the idiots that infect other gyms in the area. That's a shame because the appeal of the place was that it wasn't like other gyms. They've now introduced music into the gym. Songs with the same pounding aerobic room beats. Many of us like to wear headphones and listen to our own music but that will now be an issue when the music is blaring from speakers. The worst possible music that never changes. read more

Half the stuff is not functioning or broken. Whenever I call no one picks up the phone (during posted business hours). It's cheap and low budget so if that's your thing should be okay. Communication is terrible and the trash overflows in the women's bathroom. A lot of not most things are run down and the towels they provide to wipe down the equipment is so worn out and gross... looks like the towel itself has lots of bacteria on it. They just started providing wifi... after years without offering it. :/ read more

Since I have to put a star down, Everybody Fitness gets ONE...although if I could, I would rate them with ZERO stars. This is by far the worst company I've ever had to deal with in my life. First off, the gym did not have a working air conditioner for about 6 months after I started going there. Despite the fact that people put post-it notes all over the gym (which is never staffed) threatening to cancel their membership, I remained a loyal customer. One day I was lifting weights to do squats and because I was in a hurry, didn't put the clip on. Out of nowhere, the weight flew off and hit the glass mirror that was next to the squat machine. I was completely caught off guard by the whole thing but told the manager and figured they would handle it. A week later, I received an email from the GM asking me to pay $1800 to repair the damage that was done!! I was in complete shock that this person would ask me to front the bill let alone just assume I had $1800 lying around - especially after being a loyal customer to them for a year! I called other gyms in the area out of curiosity - to see how they would've handled a situation like this and was told that only after repeated damage would they ask a customer to front the bill. CLEARLY this was an accident and after all of this, I had to ask the manager to find a lower cost company to repair the mirror. He finally found a place that offered to do it for $500 (go figure!!) but still asked that I pay for the damage. We finally came to an agreement that I would pay for half of it but that i would be canceling my membership due to the horrible experiences I went through as a paying customer there. JUST BEWARE when considering joining this gym - you never know that kind of hidden costs they are going to ask you to pay for and I can assure you there are gyms out there that treat the customer better!!!! read more
