Honestly, we couldn't be happier. Not only did this company have the most reasonable quote out of the 3 we looked at, they also did an amazing job! The showed up right on time, worked very efficiently, helped out with every request and had an amazing positive attitude the whole time. Dennis the organizer was very prompt and professional in every response to questions we had. Tim, the lead mover, was exceptional to work with. He jumped in and went above expectations the entire time and all of the movers were very professional. We signed up for a pre-pack the day before the move since we had a tight 4 hour window at our HOA condo and it was well worth it! The guys showed up and prepped everything the day before, wrapping furniture, helping get things in boxes and prepped wardrobes etc. So worth it for a stress free move day! Day of, these guys worked without any complaints in a very strict HOA building and covered the 400' building hallway carpets with plastic to avoid damage. The didn't damage a single item and were extremely respectful of all of our belongings. There was a thorough inspection of the building after the move and not so much as a scratch! Got a quote from these guys via Yelp and they were a good value compared to other competitors, and had stellar reviews. Booked them through Yelp seamlessly, got an email confirmation when I booked, another email confirmation the day before the move, and text updates the morning of the move. Never had to make a phone call which was nice! I had a 3-guy crew move from a 1br in Oakland to a house in Oakland 15 min away. I had a lot of stairs in both locations and I'm glad I went with 3 guys instead of 2, the stairs slow things down and 3 guys worked a lot faster. The whole thing took 5 hours. The guys that came out were super nice and communicative and polite, and worked quickly and efficiently. There were a few minor snags like missing a certain tool for my bedframe disassembly but nothing major and it got resolved quick. Payment was also convenient and they handled all the timing, contract and stuff on a phone app that tracked their time. I packed my own stuff so just paid the flat hourly rate they quoted for the time and that's it! I'd use them again. read more

Jay and Alex were amazing from start to finish! They were incredibly friendly, professional, and easy to work with throughout the entire move. I was moving from a 1-bedroom condo with elevators into a house where some of the furniture had to be taken down stairs to a lower floor. They handled everything carefully and efficiently and I really appreciated how much attention they paid to protecting my furniture. Everything arrived safely with zero damage which is exactly what you want from a moving company. I also had a few items that needed to be moved separately to the curb for Recology pickup, and I was worried there might be some confusion or that things could accidentally get mixed up with the items I was keeping. Jay and Alex handled it perfectly, everything ended up exactly where it was supposed to be, with no mix-ups at all. The rates are a little higher than some of the other companies I looked at, but honestly, I think the extra cost was worth it for the level of care and service. Compared to other moving companies, the price quote I got was competitive without any deposit requirement. On the moving date, Impel promised that they would send the crews from 3:00 to 3:30pm. I was a bit anxious as I booked the elevator was booked only from 3-5pm but Impel kept updating me and the moving crew arrived right on time! Sam and Sergey, the two moving crews that helped my moving did great jobs, moving all the stuff very efficiently while being extra catious about any potential damage on the walls, TV, or other furnitures. They even tested the TV damage on my new place! They were also very friendly, which made my moving experience even better! I had a very complicated move as I was currently in a condo with strict HOA rules (needed certificates of insurance, liability, etc. as well an inspector needs to be present during entire move out, can only use a specific elevator) as well as many pieces of heavy furniture and Dennis and his team did an amazing job. They were on time, wrapped everything and handled all items with care. Not to mention my new place had a good amount of stairs and no elevator. Dennis and his team didn't hesitate and got everything done as quickly as possible. Not to mention, the inspector commented to me "these guys are very professional". I could not be happier with Impel Moving. Max and Alim worked really hard to make my move smooth and stress free. I had originally overestimated how "together" I would be and under estimated how much stuff I had. Oops. When they showed up I wasn't even fully packed. They were so positive and friendly assuring me that they were there to help and we would get it done and they did. They made an otherwise stressful situation exciting and fun. They got right to work and kept on moving until everything was carefully, and strategically packed in the truck, and unloaded with boxes/furniture in the right rooms. They took great care with my stuff (more care than I would have taken), the items that I had put in a "I will take it" pile so that I could give extra care I quickly put in with the rest of the items after seeing how they worked and knowing that my mementos and even the most special of my possessions were safe in their care. We moved in November 2020, amid the COVID-19 global health crisis. Dennis and his team were great to work with. They respond quickly, are reliable, and worked their butts off to help us with our move. We moved from a condo with super strict HOA rules to a house on a steep hill- which Impel Moving were happily able to accommodate for. They checked out the lot prior to the move to make sure their truck would be able to maneuver around our narrow driveway. They provided insurance information and sent us paperwork to submit to HOA in such a timely manner. They showed up on time, wrapped everything so delicately, and got going. Once they got to the new house, they were fast and careful. We had a surprise HEAVY delivery of floor mats the same day as the move and they willingly helped get the floor mats onto the property for us. First off, the communication through Yelp with Maksim was amazing! He always responded so quickly and was incredibly flexible when I had to reschedule my move date four times! On moving day, Maksim and Ali arrived on time (I had received a text letting me know that they were on the way). Once again, top notch communication. They took a look at what I had to move and made a plan. I told them that I was on a budget and hoping for the quickest move possible :) They started wrapping the furniture and moving my containers into the truck. They arrived at my new place, which included a flight of 14 stairs, but that was no problem for them (and I wasn't charged extra for them)--they were up and down with my items, putting them exactly where I asked. They finished in about 3.5 hours, just as I had hoped! Overall, my move with Impel Moving was smooth and efficient. And that's such a relief when moving itself is already such a hassle. read more

We just moved from Oakland, CA to Reno, NV using Impel Moving. The pre move process was easy and the company was prompt and efficient in returning phone calls, emails. They sent out a reminder about the upcoming move, which reassured us that all was on schedule. On the day of the move the team showed up on the scheduled time. They wrapped and loaded our furniture and boxes so well that nothing was damaged. They drove to Reno and the next day put half of our belongings in storage and the other half in our apartment working in 90 degree heat. Alex, Paul, and Andrew helped us move into our first house today, and we could not be happier with the service, care, and attention to detail we received throughout the entire process. I moved across the Bay with Rodion and Emil last week, and it was an easy, straightforward experience. I've moved most of this same stuff before via a different companies movers, and basically every part of this move was better, from ease of scheduling to the time it actually took the movers to how they handle reviews. Speaking of reviews, previous moving companies I've used that had such good ratings applied a lot of pressure to leave good reviews while they were standing over you watching.
