I'm really starting to have mixed feelings about this place. I've been coming here for about two…read moreyears now since it's right down the street from my job at SoFi Stadium. First off, parking is rough. The restaurant is located in a small shopping center with several other businesses sharing the same lot, so finding a space can be a challenge. Sometimes it's easier to park down the street and walk over. This also isn't really a sit-down-and-enjoy-your-meal kind of place. It's more of a grab-your-food-and-go spot. The reason I'm starting to feel differently is because the last few visits haven't been as consistent as they used to be. I remember seeing the owner around much more often, and the food quality seemed better. Lately, the fries have been darker, the fish portions sometimes feel a little small for the price, and it occasionally seems like the frying oil isn't being changed as often as it should be. The service is okay, but it's not always the friendliest. One thing I've noticed is that when I ask for the fresh house-made hot sauce instead of the prepackaged packets, it sometimes feels like I'm inconveniencing the staff, especially one guy in particular. Maybe that's not the intention, but it can come across that way. That said, I keep coming back for a reason. The fish still has great flavor, and I enjoy several of the sides. The mac and cheese is probably my favorite, the collard greens are solid, and the fries are satisfying when they're fresh. I'm hoping this place can get back to the consistency that made me a regular in the first place.

In Koreatown, that…read moreshouldn't be an issue but when your craving something to grab and go, the options are quite limited. I have been eyeing Yama for quite a while and this past Monday, I was able to find the time to go! Yama Sushi Marketplace reminds of stepping into a Japanese Grocery store. Snacks lined the center of the store, while hot food, pre-packed sushi line the wall. There is also a traditional counter on the right for sashimi and fresh fish cuts. Let's talk food, I got some assorted Nigiri ($11), Salmon Nigiri ($11), some 2 packs of Chicken Yakitori 2 Skewers per pack ($4/pack), tea, and soda. It all came out to $40. Though I don't normally like to pay that much for lunch, I didn't regret it one bit. The sushi tasted so good and fresh, while the skewers were hot and meat tender. Paired with the soda it make my lunch such a nice treat. Parking can be found for free in the facility located in the back and underground. When I visited, there was a lot of parking so no issues there. If you would like to eat there, there are some small tables set up outside for you to enjoy your food. I will definitely come back again as they do have bento options, which after this last visit makes me want to be a regular. Cheers!

3rd time's a charm, and by "charm," I mean I finally confirmed that the problem was never me…read more The first time I purchased king crab from this market, I bought two bags at $175 each. When we cracked the legs open, there was a thick, rubbery, shell-like layer wrapped around the meat. We assumed we had overcooked it, accepted our $350 lesson, and took it on the chin. Against my better judgment, I returned and spent nearly $385 on 2 five-pound bags of king crab and a bag of shrimp. The shrimp were fine. The crab? Same problem. Initially, I steamed a few legs for about 10 minutes and thought, "Okay, maybe I overcooked it again." Thankfully, I had only removed what I planned to eat and kept the remaining legs frozen. Today, I decided to test that theory. I removed three legs, steamed them for 5 minutes.... Literally set my timer for 5 minutes and what do you know, same exact result. As the pictures show, this is not the crab's normal thin membrane. The hard outer shell literally separates from a second, soft shell underneath it, leaving very little edible meat. I paid for king crab, not an expensive scavenger hunt for actual crab meat. At these prices, customers should not be sold poor quality, double-shelled crab legs. After spending more than $700 here across 2 visits and having the same issue each time, I'm officially done conducting experiments. This market has had multiple opportunities, and unfortunately, the crab failed every time. 3rd time's a charm because there definitely won't be a 4th

Yes, all items at Wild Fork are meant to be purchased frozen and then defrosted for when you're ready to cook. All manors of food are available, not just meats, lending a hand to being a one-stop-shop for your needs. From meats to breads to veggies, Wild Fork has it all. The staff at the Manhattan Beach location has always been beyond kind and very helpful. They've even been helpful with occasionally recommending recipes for items we are thinking of purchasing. The store has an overall laid-back feeling to it, almost as if the most chilled out grocery store that you could imagine.

Although they are playing some good music. Service was extremely lacking. We purchased our beers which was separated from the food. I guess that makes some sort of sense, but the food service needs help. We were standing next to a couple who had already ordered and had been there for a bit when a large white man walked from out of the back and asked our neighbors if they needed help. They said they were helped already and he said okay and walked away. I laughed and said, loudly, we need help. Without a word or backward glance he walked into the back. Understand we were standing right next to them and we look nothing alike. We joked that he probably thought we were related. Mind you we're, my wife and I, are quite a few shades darker than our fellow patrons. We didn't let it ruin our day. We were finally helped since there were only 4 of us in line alm together. We ordered lobster lovers bucket, clam Chowder and fried calamari. The fried calamari and Chowder were outstanding. I woukd order that again any day. Unfortunately the seasoning in the bucket were too overpowering. We could barely taste the sausage and the shrimp. Even the corn flavor was off. And the lobster...... one was tough and rubbery and the other tough and chewy. This was supposed to be mane lobster but it was over cooked. I will be going back but not for the lobster. It was one of the highest priced items and it disappointed us. Last thing. The bathrooms are in poor shape. If your a germafob just make sure you take a lotn lot of sanitizer
